View Full Version : CS Meals - Substitutes for Fries/Potatoes?

It appears that I have issues when it comes to potatoes... I know I can ask a waiter/waitress/chef for substitutions at TS restaurants, but what about at CS restaurants? :confused3

Lots of CS restaurants have potatoes with eggs/omelet at breakfast, or french fries served with a burger or sandwich... has anyone been able to get maybe a side of sausage or bacon instead of potatoes with breakfast, or apple slices or something like that with burgers (when the menu doesn't list it as served "with fries or apples")? Or any other potato substitutions?

I'm on the DDP, and would prefer not using up snack credits to get something for a side.

I believe you can usually do fruit at CS locations. Electric Umbrella and Pecos Bills offer apple slices in lieu of fries and I'm guessing others do as well.

Some places do have apple slices to sub for fries but they do mention you can have one or the other on the menu. Last year at Flame Tree BBQ, I thought I would just ask if I could get cole slaw (which was listed as an extra) instead of the corn bread that comes with the rib platter and they said it was ok, and substituted one for the other. So you can only ask and see what happens.

Like the PP said - go ahead and ask. We were able to sub chili at Peco's Bill and Apple slices a few other places. I only found out about the chili at Peco's Bill by asking "what can I have instead of fries". The CM then told me a bunch of things -including another dessert. That was on our last day - next time I'll remember to ask that more often.
