Does anyone know if the Sunrise Safari they offer to concierge guests is always sold out... can a regular guest be put on a waitlist if there is any extra room? Thanks for the info. We've planned a last minute trip July 2-6 and are staying at the AKL. Can't wait.

Bonzie, it never hurts to try. I am under the impression that it is only offered to the concierge guests. I would ask the desk person when you check in.
Have a great trip.

Sorry, it's only available to concierge guests as a perk to them. You meet in the concierge lounge, whgich non-concierge guests do not have access to, which is one problem. Although there has been talk of instituting a minimum nights stay in a concierge room to take part in the Sunrise Safari, as far as I know, it hasn't ben done yet. Can you swing the one extra night in the upgraded room?

Thanks for that idea Anne... never thought about upgrading for 1 night. Right now we're staying in a std room (124/night). We kinda squeezed this trip in. Hey it will probably be crowded this time of year too... but we'll see when we get there.
Thanks again!

Sorry, I can't hold out much hope. We stayed AKL concierge last December (first half of the month - NOT near Xmas, normally a slow time made even more so by 9/11). The sunrise safari was SO booked, we couldn't even get on the wait list.
We're going back this December, hopefully we'll have better luck this time. You can always ask - the worst they can do is say no, but don't get your (or your family's) hopes up.

I seem to remember something about a two night minimum in concierge in order to be eligble for the Sunrise Safari...I don't remember where I read that...

I also read recently that someone was making their reservations, they asked for one night concierge and were made aware of a new policy. Two night minimum for the Safari.
Not positive its true, but I think it is.
