No it isn't. This is the only OOP dining we are doing. It's for my DD's 5th birthday. We took her there when she was 3 and she loved it. I'm really looking forward to it!

I wouldn't say ceremonial or awe-inspiring.

It can seem a bit formal to some folks, but really it's just a quiet setting in which to enjoy a traditional tea service (hot tea with various sandwiches, sweets, scones, fruit and cheese, etc depending on what you order).

We find it is a lovely way to spend a couple of hours on a lazy afternoon.

There has been much conversation lately about menfolk and their comfort at tea, and the general consensus (as well as my own experience with the situation) says that men will be fine and can even enjoy themselves there.
