Rosie plus Five and Free Dining !! September 2009 Pre Trippie

Well many of you already know me from my solo trips and reports !!Well this September the 6 of us are going !! A little back ground into the whens and whys !! Originally we were all going this May , but a friend wanted to go too and talked DD into September , which was okay as I was expecting Free dining !!I decided I still wanted to go in May and I am as a solo!!
Well to cut a long story short the friend is now going in August and to be honest we are happy to just be going ourselves !!

The cast of characters ( and we are )
Me ... Rosie a 62 year old Disney Freak , the planner , shopper ,organizer , the maker of ADRS and flight plans etc !!!!!!

DD 35 year old Mom to 3, hardworking gal who shares my love if not my "FREAK" of Disney !! She totally leaves the planning to me and just says schedule in some potty breaks pleese Mom!!

DSIL 35 year old Dad/stepDad to 3 . This is his first ever trip to Disney, work interfered the last time !!He says he'll just follow me .. we will seee!!!

DGD Samantha age 14 She's our Bookworm her fav ride was RNRC last time and she can't wait to try it again,this time with DSD, her sister promises to go on it this year too !!

DGD Stephanie age 14 ( Yup they're TWINS) The MySpace texting Queen , Her favorite ride is HM go figure !!!!:lmao: She has said she's doing it all this time !!

DGS Kyle age 7 Tall for his age looks 10 and is as smart as a whip!! Loves Dirtbikes, skateboards ,hunting , fishing etc Hmmmm did he get that from DD.
His fav.was (this should be no surprise) LMA!!!!!:lmao:

The When.... Sept 12th thru 20th

The Where .....Pop Century ( where else)

The How ... Hopefully SWA still have to book those flights !! At least they are up and not to bad a price !!

The Why .. that's a no brainer The Happiest Place on Earth!!

A little more background I am not the most computor litterate person so pix are not plentiful but I am going to post a few here and there !!

I booked thru AAA as always my TA is awesome !! So we originally booked with basic park tickets for 7 days, 8 nights at Pop ( 2 rooms) basic dining ! Then when Free dining was released my wonderful TA camein early to work to make sure we got it !! Saved us about $1700 :banana::banana:
In up coming posts I will be planning the adrs , which days at which parks ( I joined TGM)m Iwill be looking for all your ideas , tips etc sooo jump on board as Rosie plans another !!:banana:

These are the restaurants we are thinking of and why!!

1. Planet Hollywood DD loves this place for the theming and insists on going there!!
2.1900 Park the girls want a Princess meal ad I liked the menu best here and it's 1 TS
3. Narcosses for DSIL who wants Lobster
4. Sci Fi as it's a cool place for Kyle !!
5.Teppon Edo again DSIL heard me talking about it and said that sounds realy cool!!
6. Coral Reef DD haswanted to try this one .
7.Cape May again DSIL the seafood nut ( I am tooo)
8.Chef Mickeys as we've never done it !!

Possibles are LeCellier ,CP, Tony's and Kona

DD is having surgery in late May early June and will not be able to eat much of anything which is why I steeed away from more Buffets as we really like them but I figured itwas a waste for the little waste would eat !!:rolleyes1

So ny thoughts suggestions etc !!:confused3

You're DD is having Gastric Bypass done? My cousin had it done a few years ago and it turned out just great. He lost half his weight and is now a healthy 185lbs.

She 's havinthe lesser band one !! But she seems to think she will hardly be eating I know she has to be careful and eat small amounts more often She will be fine using snax credits for helathy stuff for the in between I have been lookng at menus and I think all the places will have stuff we can share with her!!I'm sure th kids will :rotfl2:sacrificveggies for her!!

Good news I did book the flights today , the price was very good I thought $1675.20 for all 6 of us round trip and Non stop !!Iwill be looking for DINGS cuz any savings will pay my flight in 2010

Southwest out of Cleveland is $79 each way, and not non stop.
I did see flights out of Detroit and Buffalo for $59 that would be about 3 hr drive from home. A rentral car would ran about $300 for 10 days.

Actually we are going 12th thru 20th Did I goof ? We are a Pop!!!! DD loves 60's Lakeside is quieter!! 70's is nice too and has Goofy Jets ! I believe Teppon seats 8! Keyboard is sticking bad so can't type much!

Our dates are pretty close ! I have fun writing the PTR and TRs !! We have to have a Non Stop as DD hashuge problems with her ears popping and is in pain the whole time ,so it is just not possible to put her thru stops !! Yes she knows about chewing gum etc but it doesn't help. Unfortunately DGD also has the same problem !! I was happy with our airfare prices but am checking daily for Dings or price reductions !! So far nothing!!

Well it looks like plans are gonna change !!DD is getting divorced or it looks like that so it will be the 5 of us !! Things are a litle tense around here right now !!:scared1:I am in the process of rethinking plans as some were based on HIM!!!:eek: After my May trip I will really get down to this PTR ! Cool !! Hopefully I can arrange a Meet !! DD thinks I am CRAZY so it will be just me ,but after my May Trip I will get down to carfully planning this trip and have an idea of which parks !! I think we wil do the MNSSHP on the 15th which is a Tuesday !!

I am excited allover again to be planning yet another trip to Disney !!!I will be updating regularly now and looking for tips etc for our "ROSIE"plus 4 trip !! I know by September DD will need this vcation badly so I want to make it as special as possible on a limited budget !! Have to make the changes to our party size and am hoping the money saved will pay for afew extras !!! DD says she wants to do Universal, which I don't but maybe they cn go and I will have a solo day and plan MEETS !!!! So stay tuned !!!

Two I went solo last month and the whole family is going in September !!Long story but in a nutshell we all were going in May but then a friend wanted to go in August/Sept so I went alone in May as I wanted to go then !! Well as it turns out the week was sooo rainy that I am glad the kids weren't there !! Now we have another trip to look forward to and Judy sooo needs something HAPPY in her life !! With all the Friends who will be there either with us or for part of the time she will have a BALL!!
I am furiously working on plans for ALL of us as Dear Judy tells all her pals I am the GURU !! Thanks Jude !!:lmao:

Yes Grace we have to meet !! I will know more of plans after this weekend !! I successfully changed airflights and my TA said NO PROBLEM for the trip!! Now we all are etting together to plan this Sunday!! I was planningon the 15th for MNSSHP but now I ned to check if our other friends who don't arrive to the16th want o do it on the 18th !!
I am also thinking of just metaking the kids to WCCC and give Judy a night off with her friend !! This was after the awesome pix by Alan Renfroe in his TR !!

Well I thought I could make ressies today as the CM I talked to yesterday told me I could as I was a resort guest!! Of course I asked when this changed and she assured me it was so!! Guess what she was WRONG I can't make them till the 14th!! But at least I have my game plan together now!!So here is the plan:-

Day 1 Sat Sept 12th Tonys around 5pm
Day2 Sun Sept 13th Fantasmic Package at Mama Melroses 5pm
Day3 Mon Sept 14th Teppon Edo 12:30
WCC 6pm (me and kids)
Day 4 Tues Sept 15th Planet Hollywood 5pm
Day 5 Wed Sept 16th 1900 6pm
Day 6 Thurs Sept 17th Coral Reef 5pm
Day 7 Fri Sept 18th Crystal Palace 5pm
Day 8 Sat Sept 19th Chef Mickeys 5pm

Right now I plan to go to Spectro the first night !! Unless Park hours etc change it is listed for the 12th!! We chose Tony's as it is at MK and will put us in the Park early and we will have time to check out such favs as Buzz and POTC ! Maybe the Roller coasters too for the kids !!

I really want them to see the 2 night time spetaculars ( Spectro and Fantasmic ) and a mid day break is definately a good idea !!! Well Judys friend who will be therepart of the time we are successfully mae her ressies !! She lucked out and got Coral Reef around the same time as us lik 5 mins differnt !! I say lucky as I had been checking daily to find her ressies !! Yesterday I got some things at the Thift store for my Tinkerbell gifts. A mickey mouse light up spinner, a Mickey Mouse safira (sp) flashlight, also got some things for in the car, a winnie pooh magnetic 1-2-3 in a tin, andanimal adventure sticker fun book with reuseable stickers and some little disney books, I paid, .35 to .50 cents for each. I love going to the Thrift Store.

The Noodle station has a buffet on certain days in August and September AND it also just started A Dessert Party for Wishes !! The desserts look soooo good !! It's not on the ddp and costs about $17 . I want do it this year even if went till Sept as cost wise with 6 of us :scared1: but if they have it when I am solo OH YEA!!

Jordan this might be a possibility for 2012 !!

Samntha and I wnt Dollar store Disey shopping ! I pickedup 2 more umbrellas ,Chewable pepto, motrin,more glow stickee stuff !! Last but not least a bunch of candy things for the kids treat bags !!:thumbsup2 I am putting them in individual sammy bags this time and I have 7 for each kid made up already, couple more and I am done !! Then I need in room snax and breakfast items !!Oh yes I also got paper plates sowe can share cs meals ! I checked my TRIAL sizes Jorda and I have an abundanceof toothpastes , mini deodorant,hand sanitizer so obliviously I hav been checking those Target aisles !!:lmao:

In choosing these I am loking at what Judy could share,the kids will like and of course coolish seating !! I picked Pop as weare staying there and they hve a large election that is sharable !!Backlot Express due to duouble cheeseburger ( shareable )FlameTree BBQ the girls want some ribs and they have fruit plate , also I hear there are shady eating areas , Sunshine Seasons, the chicken and the DESSERTS!!! So what do you think !!

I am fine tuning my touring plans still although I know the drill well !! Get there at Rope Drop and FP!!!! :banana:Personally I avoid EMH in favor of heading to the ones that don't have it as I get 1 hour more sleep and usually the other parks are not as crowded !!Also if the park you re going to had pm EMH the night before it is a good mojo chance !! Yesterday I took Steph out to buy a new bikini!! She couldn't fit in the one she had !! These TEENS are sprouting if ya know what I mean:rotfl2: Found one she liked FINALLY !!!:eek:after several stores ! Target was the one !! They also had cute swimsuit cover ups .. so I got them both one !! Steph LOVES her swim attire !!I also went on line to the Disney semi annual sale and got them each a 3 piece set so they should be OKAY for Sept !! I can't believe how different they are Sam will be wearing a Tshirt over her swimsuit ( Which will not be a bikini) :worship:Steph on the other hand is quite comfortable sporting a 'Kini!!:rotfl2:

I am also stocking up on the sales for snax !! Got pringles on sale at cvs and have hidden a few containers for Sept ! I'll be shipping down all the park and room food a week before we go !! Am ordering water and other perishables from Garden Grocer !

I haven't changed anything YET!! I do have to cut down sthe #'s on one as our friends were going to come with us but have decided to do CRT!!

I picke up more snax stuff today mostly for 4th weekend but did get some Planters nuts on BOGO plus a coupon !! Oh Yea !!I am hving trouble finding the ponchos !! Our Dollar Trees usually have them butI checked 2 already and NONE:eek: Here's a partial list of my packing list of non snax typestuff that I already have !! Much is from previous trips so don't have to buy each time :-
Bandaids assorted sizes , incl blister ones and antibiotic ones and animal ones
5new toothbrushes, 4 sample toothpaste (or more ..thank you dentist)
3 sample deodorants
4 trial laundry soap
antibiotic cream, mosq. repellent pads ,various pain pils , pepto pills, antidiarrhea tabs , firstaid tape, ace bandage ,
trial shampoos (they hate the disney stuff) sunscreen both trial and big
extension cord, window decorations ( still need some) scissors( not in carryon this time :lmao:) tape, pens of assorted fatness, little note books ,stickers, Tink gift stuff, mesh laundry bags , camp towels,poncos ( nowhere near enuff) 4 umbrellas , sewing kit

Most of the things I will use for sure but some I really hope not to and I let you guess which:laughing: Yes I hav used the ace bandage on 2 trips , arthritis is my knee is helped at night with one if it gets bad and all the walking :scared1:
I also stick lots of freebies I get in the mailo atthe store in and severaltimes have used something !!

I haven't changed anything YET!! I do have to cut down sthe #'s on one as our friends were going to come with us but have decided to do CRT!!

I picke up more snax stuff today mostly for 4th weekend but did get some Planters nuts on BOGO plus a coupon !! Oh Yea !!I am hving trouble finding the ponchos !! Our Dollar Trees usually have them butI checked 2 already and NONE:eek: Here's a partial list of my packing list of non snax typestuff that I already have !! Much is from previous trips so don't have to buy each time :-
Bandaids assorted sizes , incl blister ones and antibiotic ones and animal ones
5new toothbrushes, 4 sample toothpaste (or more ..thank you dentist)
3 sample deodorants
4 trial laundry soap
antibiotic cream, mosq. repellent pads ,various pain pils , pepto pills, antidiarrhea tabs , firstaid tape, ace bandage ,
trial shampoos (they hate the disney stuff) sunscreen both trial and big
extension cord, window decorations ( still need some) scissors( not in carryon this time :lmao:) tape, pens of assorted fatness, little note books ,stickers, Tink gift stuff, mesh laundry bags , camp towels,poncos ( nowhere near enuff) 4 umbrellas , sewing kit

Most of the things I will use for sure but some I really hope not to and I let you guess which:laughing: Yes I hav used the ace bandage on 2 trips , arthritis is my knee is helped at night with one if it gets bad and all the walking :scared1:
I also stick lots of freebies I get in the mailo atthe store in and severaltimes have used something !!

It took me awhile to find you again, I haven't seen you at the Sept code watch for some time. I see that you are staying at POP this Sept. Did you stay at All-star sports in May. I hope your trip earlier was good ?? I hope to get a chance to meet you at Disney this year. I see that you are meeting with Grace on the 12th, we fly in that day but we don't get in until around 2:30ish pm so maybe if we hustle we can get to the meet point.

I've read thru your pre-trip report and things look and sound good. We have the hardest time getting the dinners all sorted out still changing some of ours. Glad too see that your doing good and know that I'll check back often too how your plans are going.

Our plans are basically the same everytime we go. Get up late do breakfast at resort back to room change get ready to go to a park. Go to bus stop see which line is shortest and that is where we're going that morning. Back to resort for a afternoon rest and pool break then its shower and to the park that dinner is at. Well I've talked long enough hope too see you there.

Yes Grace Pop has elevators !! Believe me if they didn't I'd be on the 1st floor!!:lmao:I would try for 50's or 60's lakeside !! Have you checked out the Pop Century Thread the 1st post has all the info you need !! Maps etc !!The 60's has a couple of sides in each bldg that are lakeside and not preferred , 50's has even more but is a little further from the foodcourt and buses !! I think I am gonna request 50's poolside with connecting rooms !! Asfor the ponchos can I let you know next week??

Hi Rose,
I'm not sure about what time to show for the Fantasmic show ?? Its going to be crowded because of the lack of shows for it. I don't mind standing in lines the older I get. I do know that you should go to the show as early as possible in case it rains and gets cancelled, you may be able to catch it later in the week. On our last trip to Disney we waited till the last day to see the finding Nemo show at AK and it was cancelled for that day :scared1::scared1: so we ended up missing it.

We're down to 69 days left to wait. Got the photo pass prepaid and now we just need to pack. We have all the sample sizes ready to go. We are taking light water proof jackets for the rain.

If we meet you it will only be my wife and me, we really enjoy going by ourselves not having to be anywhere at anytime just doing what we want. Good luck packing and hope too see you at the park.

and I still have a lot of things to finish.:lmao:



I think the only day that Fantasmic is planned during our stay is 9/13 is that what you see too. This planning which parks which days and trying to do the specials is harding than making ADR's for me. We have an ADR at Teppan Edo at 4:30 p.m. so I think we can make To over to MGM by 7:00 to get in line but don't know how Landen might act having to wait that long. I keep telling myself we will have to go slow and see how he does and how thingsfit into schedule like naps and stuff sometimes he will nap in the stroller. I know it will all work out and it will be the most amazing and magicial trip of all:goodvibes

Yes the heat is a concern so AK maybe a last minute decision !! FTB is my forst choice but if it is super hot will pick a/c

As for characters well know I had my pix with Rafiki, the bears from Brotherbear , also pochohantas!! Of course the regulars like Mickey etc !!!

This is a play it by ear day !! Here are some thoughts
Sleep in a little Sandy & I go to AK again as she has expressed a great interest and the others are like DHS all the WAY!
Meet back at Pop for lunch or maybe go to PM
We have to be at Epcot for 4:35p ressies for Coral Reef where we are meeting friends from Niagara Falls who arrived yesterday!! If you follow me :rotfl2:
So the evening is definately Epcot which is my fav soooo I'm happy!! :cool1:I want to have them do The Boat ride in the Land and Figment IF we didn't get to do them earlier in the week Also SE and then end up in THE WORLD till time for Illuminations !! Maybe Judy and Sandy can talk me into babysitting again as we have another relaxed day tomorrow!! Well the morning is relaxed !!:banana:

Yes it's a full day we actually leave on Sunday but always spend the last day in DTD!! I know DHS is scheduled for EMH a.m.on Saturday so I plan on getting them up and at 'em Of course I will do Epcot and hope to drag them along . Supper that night is at Chef Mickeys !!!! So there you have Day 8 A all out Commando day !!!!

Day 9 will be Packing up and heading to DTD for some shopping ad of course a trip to Goofys Candy will be included !! I also want the gang to try EOS or WGP for lunch before heading back for a last swim and the ME!!:sad2:

Now I have shared all my plans !! What do you all think?????

I still have lots of things to pack and of course review so next I will start a TO DO List and a already Done List!!!

I thought the ferry only went from the Tranportation center to The MK, where else does it go, how do you know where they are going to make different stops or is each one for a certern place.

There are different ferries the go across the Seven Seas Lagoon. One just goes to Ticket and Transportation to the MK. I know the WL has one that goes back and forth from WL and Fort Wilderness to MK and back. I think the GF has one too.

There are ferries(Friendship Boats) that go back and forth from Epcot-World Showcase to DHS.

There are also ferries that taxi guests back and forth from DTD to OKW, POR/POFQ and SSR.

I see Jordan told you but there are different boats to go to different places, if you're ever stuck on how to get somewhere go to the website www.ourlaughingplace.com and at the bottom there is a link to Transport Wizard. You can choose your start and finish places and it will tell you how to get there. You could also ask at www.disneyworldmoms.com I hear they give very good advise :rolleyes1 :rotfl2:

I may be able to help here... We were there for 9 days last year... We thought it was hot and humid, but more comfortable than July... We only saw like 3 lovebugs total... We found it helped to take a break or plan meals in air conditioning during the hottest part of the day...

We go in Sept and its usaully only real hot for a couple of days. Our last trip was 1 week earlier and we had a heat wave for 5 days it was over 90. So it can get hot. The loveBugs are a different story. There is no way to get around them, they are all over the place. I think some resorts have more than others, but they DON'T bite but they will crawl on you. After a day or so you just forget about then and go along with your day.

P.S. Don't forget the dryer sheets ;)

Thanks, I've only been in August and December so I'm used to the heat and cooler evenings :rotfl2: I'm meant to be running in the EE5K at the end of September so hoping it won't be too hot, it's at about 7pm so fingers crossed! Not sure I like the sound of the bugs though :eek:

Chuck we are ordering from Garden Grocer , I picked up the granola type bars using c/os and sales so got them very cheap also I will ship down the kids park snax and Tink gifts !! I plan on ordering milk, water, yoghurt and bananas for sure !! But I may look into ordering bagels etc as i think I may have a toaster in mt fridge swap and if not I am pretty sure you canuse the one at the foodcourt!!!

Wel tonight I took the kids to WalMart to find shorts for Disney !! The girls got 4 or 5 pairs of course Steph got "Hoochie Momma " ones and Samantha's come down to her knees:rotfl2:I also found a couple of pairs for Kyle that were only $3 .He has basicly only got taller this year so most of his shorts still fit , and he has a ton of T Shirts etc . Steph found some cammie tops for 2/$6 which was a great deal . Samantha opted for a Disney T Shirt to match a pair of shorts !! I have enough clothes from my May trip so I'm all set 'just Judy to worry about now !!!

I agree it is quick and cute !! I didn't plan or stake out a spot but as it is less crowded you can get a good view from anywhere along the route !! I think it is around 5:30 - 6:00pm

I just got done talking with a surgeon last Friday and she said that I need to have my L2-3 thru L4-5 in my lower back fused together. I GUESS she's gonna have to wait until after the vacation befoire i put that to some thought. Seens that a lot of people here are having some sort of problem health wise. Mine was from a fall at work last April, yes the workers comp moves that slow in Ohio. I'll drop you a pm as we get closer to leaving so if you forget anything give me a shout and I can bring it down. Stay healthy and talk to you later.

We are staying at ASsports and looking forward to it. it is killing me to NOT be able to talk about it b/c we are suprising the kids. I cannot even pack early like I usually do!! 38 days!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!, oh wait, it is 12:04 am here.......37 days!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We were at Pop last time and it was not my favorite, but so many LOVE it-we are just an All Star family. My fave is the movies, hubby likes sports and a while back the kids said the next time we went that they wanted to go back to Sports. We have been to ASm 2 times since. So I caved.

This is my first time on DDP and I am excited to experience the hoopla!

It has been fun keeping it a secret from the kids-DD11 is NOT happy with us. They think we are doing a couple trip to the Keys and 1 Disney day on the way back. LOL. I don"t feel guilty ONE bit. I laugh secretly every time she gives us her "evil eyes" for going to Florida and even 1 day of WDW without her.

Yesterday Judy bought sneakers and a swimsuit as those were her 2 main items she needed !! I picked her up 3 tank tops at WalMart she thinks she's all set ! The girls have 2 swimsuits /bikinis each ( remember Steph Hoochie Momma and Sammi is Grandma Jones ):rotfl2:They picked up Addidas sandals on sale for $15 at the Mall , will both have new sneakers for school (if Steph ever finds any she likes ( Remember 17 stores and Nada):rotfl2:
After the Big Birthday Party next week I will haul out my suitcase and pack ( for the first time:lmao:) Judy insists we are travelling light this time !!!:laughing:
She has to bring me boxes to ship stuff to Pop like snax , decorations etc
I have to place the GG order before the end of August .
Called my TA about parking at the airport soooo I am :banana:getting there
