I am floored by the GREAT military deal WDW has going right now! :cool1: I called and got a quote for the 40% discount off accomodations with dining plan. Does anyone know if I can also make this work with free dining? I know it is already a great deal, but I'd hate to learn upon our return we could have saved even more. We are planning our trip for the end of September.
Thanks!

Free dining cannot be combined with other offers -- it requires a rack rate room reservation plus a minimum 1 night MYW ticket.

That sounds fair enough! Thanks for the quick response. Now... to butter up the hubby! :)

Price them both ways. It is quite possible that the free dining even with the 1 day ticket will be cheaper than the 40% off military rate. It was for us. Generally if you are staying at a deluxe it will be better to take the 40% off rooms and pay for the dining plan.
**A bonus is we are able to apply the one day's ticket price (required for the free dining) to the $99 military friends and family at the gate. Essentially paying another $25 each for a 5 day pass ($50 for parkhoppers).

I got a quote with the Free dining and Military package. (but I am reserve and don't have active orders So I cant get tickets discounted like active duty) I went on another WEBSITE and got a vaction planner to give me a price. I am not sure if I am aloud since I am new so PM me I will give you more details.

Yes reserve are now eligible for the discount as Disney has opened it up to Reserve and National Guard. My husband is in the reserve and I have our tickets and also received 40% off at the Poly.

Vet- is your husband activated? Cuz I did not put my deposit down yet. My friends are Active duty and they get Free ticket and $99 5 day for friends and family if I could get this it would be great!!!! I would just go the military route. The discount for stay is good for me only, for me but not the stars and stripes salute

You can't get both the discounted room and the FREE dining. You can book a discounted room and then pay for the dining plan, but if you want the dining free you have to book the room at rack rate. Disney won't combine discounts, so you can get either one or the other. Check closely with anyone who is telling you you can have both.
With the military deal you may be able to get a package with discounted room and tickets plus paid dining, but not free dining.

do you happen to have a price on that? for reg dining I think it is $39 per night per adult. Is that right? I was wondering how much cheaper the military discount is.

I originally made a reservation for 40% off room rate for 5 people for six night stay, planning to use the military salute tickets. When free dining came up, with the help of folks on these boards, figured out it would be cheaper to let the 40% off room rate go (for a mod property) and take the free dining instead. So I called back and changed my reservation and went with rack rate and free dining. When I did that I had to purchase a one day ticket for everyone in party. Also with the help of folks on this boards, I learned I could use that towards the military salute tickets. So, I'm going to end up not loosing anything on four of the tickets (money from the one day applied to the 99 dollar service tickets) and I'll have one leftover ticket for the one free servicemen ticket. This has no expiration date, so it will get used eventually, so no loss there either. All in all, we're getting a really really great deal. Just price it out both ways. For five people, it was a no brainer in the end that we would spend more on food than the 40% off I was saving on the room, and we'll be eating so much better now.

I didn't realzie you could use the one day to upgrade to a Ap or something. good to know. I think I will call and ask what the military dining is pp. Even if I had to purchase the one days, I could use them for the water parks. So it should work out. We are not going during the free didning time but would change our ressies if it worked out to our advantage. Hubby is deployed and not sure he will be back in time to go with us if we go during the free dining time.
