I was debating upgrading my Resort Magic to Discovery Magic. I have booked Concierge at YC. I was thinking about Discovery to be able to have some higher priced dinner'sat a relatively lower cost.

Any opinions?

I love having Discovery Magic plan - so that we can eat at the majority of expensive restaurants and not have to pay teh huge amounts - sometimes people claim that it isn't worth the money - however - we think it is - all of the food is paid for before you even get on site - which is nice :)

My husband and I are starting to plan our 5 year anniversary - and our plan is to stay at BW on the concierge level - then we can enjoy free snacks and complimentary breakfast for those mornings we don't want to get straight out of bed and eat a HUGE meal :)

We are booked in concierge at AKL in August and this is our second trip with Discovery Magic. We really enjoy the convenience of the plan for meals. Also, we are doing a few of the tours this time and are using some of our wishes for those. On our last trip we discovered (no pun intended) that we could get by on a light breakfast and one Discovery Magic meal a day. This was because, with all the items included, the DM meals were Huge! I think a light breakfast in the concierge lounge and a snack or two during the day will be all we'll need. I hope this helps.

Chirurgeon, I haven't done the Discovery Magic plan yet, but I have stayed in a concierge room at the GF and added the Grand Plan to it. If that is what you want to do, then by all means do it and have a magical vacation. By the way, we have a thread here on the Dis regarding the Discovery Magic Vacation Plan (2002). (http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=199158&highlight=2002) Check it out.

Go for it! You only live once!!! As one of the other posters suggested, use one point each day for a meal and use the other for fun stuff like tours. You can't go wrong here. Good thing you'll be doing a lot of walking though, you'll need the exercise with all of the wonderful things you are going to eat!

Just returned last week from GF concierge and Discovery Magic... They messed up the count of our wishes so many times that even after using our allotted 48 wishes, we still had 11 wishes left over. Spent it on frames and other assorted gifts. :)

We ate at WONDERFUL places the whole week - Wolfgang Pucks, Yachtsman, Mitsukoshi, and the HoopdieDoo, and always ordered whatever we wanted - it was included! :) YOu can bet there was a lot of filet and lobstertail happening. :)

Worth it, and highly recommended.
