I'm still trying to figure out how to get there with my scooter. So far, I have had no success in finding out if there will be any Disney bus transportation to the event. I will probably have to disassemble the scooter, and take a taxi cab.
One way or another, I will get there!

Wide World of Sports, Race starts at 6:45, It finishes whenever we manage to complete it! :lmao: I would imagine you could get to DHS for opening with out a problem. The race won't take 2 hours to complete. What time does DHS open that day? 8:30? 9:00? You'll make it. :thumbsup2

You should be able to get a cab outside the BCV very quickly. I think if you left by 7:00AM in a taxi you should make it in plenty of time.
the race is supposed to start at 6:45, but I don't think many of the Disney races start on time. If you are at the finish line by 7:45 or 8:00AM you should be there in enough time to see us finish.

I think that there was an error in the e-mail they sent us. I think that part should read "Wave 2. male 46-55, & 56-65" Otherwise it makes no sense to me at all. It tripped me up when I read it last night. Its like trying to read 23+46=84. For me its a mental speed bump (or pot hole).

I don't think a pasty cheering for us would make much sense. I was going to leave this at home:
http://www.michiganfoodways.org/pics/calumet/pastyfestparade1-lg.jpg
A pasty (pronounced /ˈpæsti/ (the 'a' pronounced as in 'cat'), Cornish: Pasti), less commonly known as tiddly oggy or tiddy oggy, and sometimes as pastie in the United States, is a filled pastry case, commonly associated with Cornwall, United Kingdom. It differs from a pie as it is made by placing the filling on a flat pastry shape, usually a circle, and folding it to wrap the filling, crimping the edge to form a seal. The result is a raised semicircular package. The traditional Cornish pasty is filled with diced beef, sliced potato and onion, and baked. Pasties with many different fillings are made; some shops specialise in selling all sorts of pasties.

Pasties with many different fillings are made; some shops specialise in selling all sorts of pasties.Mmmmmmm, pasties, I used to love getting those in the UP, and I could find them at some grocery stores when I lived in Michigan. Gotta love a good meat pie with sour cream on it.

Maybe it was the email show.....
It was a long recording session on Monday and it started EARLY, so I'm not sure where I said it.
Yup...John just told me it was the email show.
Sorry.

Usually....yes....but thats really not what I was doing this time.
The podcast crew worked on an early morning assignment with Professor David's classes in Illinois.
We did two of them and then recorded the discussion show and finally the email show.
We were "on mic" from 9:45am until approximately 4:30pm.
It was a long day.
You will hear just how long it was during the last voicemail on the email show. We got a bit punchy and it all broke loose.
(There...that last part was teasing. See the difference?)

If Anna and Shelly still plan on riding with me, they will be there at a bright and early 5:35.....and able to stake out the BEST photo op spots for the mud pit.
Has anyone been to the WWOS before? Will it be easy to find the group?

There is a map on the Muddy Buddy thread of last years event. If you goggle map Disney's Wide World of Sports you can see where it is in relation to your hotel.

Although WWoS is huge, the number of people competing and those watching will lead you in the right direction I'm sure. I would also think there will be signs or volunteers leading you in the right direction once you arrive to the main parking lot.

So is this starts at 6:45 is that the best time to arrive or are we good showing up a tad later. Also, just wondering if everyone is planning on wearing DIS shirts or do we not want to draw attention to our crowd.:thumbsup2
Hope to see you all there.

Wow, you're as excited as we are!!! We don't need to be there until 5:45, and the scheduled start isn't until 6:45, I don't anticipate any of us imitating the Road Runner, Speedy Gonzolas, or Dash Incredible, so I think 8 around the mud pit??
ETA: I'll run slower if it means more people can show up. I will make the sacrifice.

Thank you too Kathy! :)

I think we're planning on being there at 6:45 - will we be able to see anything at that point? I figure what the heck, if I have to get up early, I might as well be there for the beginning.
Bill and his Mom are coming with us too (OK with you Bill if we aim for 6:45?)
then I'm going to pay homage to Bob - and take a nap.
