View Full Version : Is there going to be a "Cars" attraction coming soon to one of the theme parks?

A friend of mine who owns Disney stock said that he read about it somewhere or heard it from someone that works down there. I am curious about this especially during these hard times. Does anyone have any information on this tip?

An entire land based upon "Cars" will be added to Disney's California Adventure over the next few years, to open around 2012. There are no current plans to do anything similar at WDW. Search the Internet and you will find artist's imagery and rough schematics of what it will look like in DCA.

YEP!!!! There is a Cars land coming to California Adventure in 2010!!!!
I am super excited to see what they do with it!!!!

We have Luigi's Garage at DHS which is a meet and greet with some of the Cars.

That is really awesome! Thanks for the info and the link as well. Looks like I'll have to make my first trip to Disneyland to check it all out!

There was a rumour going around awhile back that they were going to change the Indy Speedway in Tomorrowland at MK to have a Cars theme. I haven't heard much about that in a good long while though.

Test Track at somepoint will lose it's GM sponsorship and this would be logical move for Disney. The end of Test Track is really a lap around a NASCAR track so you would just hop into Lightning McQueen and then Mater is the one that runs you through all the tests and then something goes wrong at the crash test and off you go. I know a lot of people don't like Pixar being all over, but they are a big part of Disney now and this could be really cool.

The problem with this idea is that Test Track currently resides in Future World, and Cars kind of has a nostalgic feel for the past, so I don't think this idea will happen.

Hmm, im not sure. I haven't heard about this yet. It sounds pretty cool, though. Im still not into the Pixar attractions as much though... im just one of those people lol. I bet they could make it really amazing!

According to the 2009 unofficial guide to Disney - they will be re-furbbing the lights, motor, action stunt show to the CARS theme. Which would fit in well with Pixar place, and a CARS 2 is sched to be released in 2011 I believe. The story line is the Cars tooling around Europe...

Cant wait for Toy Story 3...I heard summer 2010 - story line is the toys are dropped off at a day care ...b/c Andy is off to College...how sad...our little Andy is all grown up!
