So far I have started 3 trip reports, (one is finished)and a Dining Review, this is my first Pre-Trip Report.
We have done Disney many times. Our first trip as a family was in 2005. Abby was just 4 and Ethan was 9 months old. We were smitten with Disney. Occasionally DH mentions traveling somewhere more "educational" he would love to go to Toronto or Washington, DC. But I think we should wait until the kids are older. I don't really want to take Ethan to any Smithsonian museums. We took him to the Woodruff Arts Center here in Atlanta, to see the Terra Cotta Army from China. He was miserable, and I had to endure his whining.
So we are fresh from a trip in January which was great fun but a little more crowded than we expected and it lacked all of the What will you celebrate decorations and excitement. Christmas decorations were still up but by Jan. 4 I am so over Christmas. It just reminded me that I still had to put away our family tree when I got home!:lmao:
But despite our frequent travels to WDW we are always happy to go back. I have been reading about the fun during the special parties Disney hosts. Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party sounds like a lot of fun. So did the Christmas Party. But something about the Halloween Party really appeals to me.
So I started mentioning it to DH and DD. DD is always itching to go back. She loves it. She would go every month if she could and she has plans to work there when she grows up. Surprisingly, DH agreed and we now have 6 nights booked at the Caribbean Beach Resort. Oct. 30 through Nov. 5 We booked a Pirate Theme Room because they look like a lot of fun! Both kids love Pirates but DS loves them especially. He is frequently seen wearing either a Jack Sparrow or a Captain Hook costume. He also has a lot of Playmobil Pirate toys. He is currently longing for the new Lego Pirates.
So I hope to discuss some of our trip planning adventures with you and maybe share some tips or ask some questions. Please join us as we plan our 8th trip to WDW since 2005!!

Next Friday is the DaY :cool1::cool1::cool1:
Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party (MNSSHP) tickets go on sale on May 1!
And I start questioning my decisions. Abby wants to go to the Halloween Party on Halloween.
I want a hotel discount or free dining or something. I don't know how long I can wait to get a code. We don't have AAA anymore but we could join and then try and get a new reservation for the room with an AAA discount.
So once we buy tickets for MNSSHP then we are locked into those dates, but if I don't buy the tickets for Oct. 31 they will sell out.
I have a week and a half to obsess over it!:lmao:
Costumes will probably be some sort of pirates. I would love to do a movie theme of costumes, Alice in Wonderland comes to mind. Abby could be Alice, Ethan could be the white rabbit, DH could be the Mad Hatter, and I could be the queen of Hearts!:thumbsup2 The kids want to be pirates though. I think I will make myself some red and white stripped pants frayed on the legs, I have a black shirt or I could make myself a nice white puffy shirt and a stripped bandanna for my head. Abby has a pirate costume from the Disney store. DH was Captain Jack Sparrow a few years ago so I can reuse his vest, pants and hat. I will have to make Ethan something or buy something at the Disney Store. He grows so fast I have to make him something every year. He has been Peter Pan twice, and Captain Hook once. He loves costumes and he wears them over and over.

They were a little more money than I had estimated using my 2009 Passporter, but it is so exciting!! I think we may shop at DTD in the morning, have lunch at the Earl of Sandwich and then let the kids swim before heading to the party. Where should we have dinner?? Maybe a counter service dinner so we don't take too much time away from the party!

After about 20 minutes on hold, we got tickets for September 4th. They were a little bit more than I expected, but the operator said I must have found last year's prices online.
anyway, we are in now. I hope it will be worth the $200 (4 people.)

Hi Nancy!
Have you received your tickets yet?? Ours came this afternoon, but my excitement is tempered with mild annoyance.
I rearranged my plans after being told on April 30 (and again on May 1st) by Disney reservationists that the party scheduled for 11/1 had been cancelled.
Today I'm reading posts from DISers who have called today for tickets and the 11/1 party is ON again!!
Well, I'm not going to complain, because now we're going down one night early so we can party on 10/31... but I'm a bit annoyed that now we'll be at the MK during THE BUSIEST party on Saturday when we could've gone Sunday and enjoyed much lighter crowds....
Oh well, what can you do?! :confused3
At least I can look forward to meeting you and your family... If we can find each other among all those party guests!!!

My tickets came last week also! I was surprised they are actually cards and not tickets. I was expecting paper tickets with a Halloween theme. (and hoping to scrapbook them after the party)
We had a busy busy weekend. My Mom came down to Georgia from Illinois and my Daughter received her First Communion on Saturday. Then on Mother's Day my son Ethan was baptized. We went hiking on Monday and to Fernbank Science Center on Tuesday. She went back home yesterday afternoon so I have been missing the DIS!:disrocks:while she is here. Now, that she is gone I miss her!
I would love to plan a meet. Do you have any good suggestions as to when and where?

Congratulations on your DDs 1st Communion and your DSs Baptism! I love May... lots of parties in my family!! :rotfl:
I think that Disney is just trying to keep their options open. They originally planned the 11/1 party, then got cold feet and cancelled to save money. Last year, the final party was on 10/31 and I'm guessing the need to cut costs is even greater this year.
They'd probably rather cut a few of the "extras" than cut general park hours, which might lose them even more customers.
If the parties are hot and seem to be bringing more guests to the park, they can easily add a few party dates. Easy for them, but tough for us planners!
As far as getting together that night, it would probably be easiest to meet up for the fireworks or the parade someplace, don't you think?! :goodvibes

Okay, back to the real reason we are here, Disney for Halloween.
So far we don't have any real firm plans other than the Mickey's Not so Scary Halloween Party *MNSSHP*
But we have a few *wishes*
Restaurants
I really want to try the Hollywood Brown Derby and take advantage of the Fantasmic Dinner Package.
Earl of Sandwich has yummy sandwiches
'Ohana makes a great family style Dinner
Pizzafari
Tusker House Breakfast
Tutto Italia
Sunshine Seasons for lunch
We had breakfast at Kona Cafe on our last trip and it was yummy!
We would also like to try breakfast at Crystal Palace
Rides
Despite our frequent trips we haven't ridden everything in the parks.
Abby has requested a trip down Splash Mountain. She says she may even try Expedition Everest. Ron is the only one in our family who has ridden that. We haven't ridden Test Track together before, Ethan wasn't tall enough so we did the baby swap. Abby thought it was a little intense and would only ride it once.
There are a few shows we haven't seen also. We haven't seen Country Bear Jamboree or Sheriff Woody's Cowboy Camp. I would love to watch a few of the movies in the World Showcase. We have seen Festival of the Lion King and Nemo at Animal Kingdom and I would like to go back to at least one of those. We haven't seen the Indiana Jones show at DHS or the newly updated Playhouse Disney show. None of us have ridden Rock-n-Roller Coaster and Abby and Daddy rode Tower of Terror one time.
Shopping
We have bought pins before but we haven't done much trading, Abby and Ethan each traded one time on our last trip. Abby traded a princess pin for a Pirate Minnie Cutie. Ethan tried to trade for a Pirate Mickey Cutie but we had locking backs on the pins. We went to the jewelry shop to get one of the keys but they didn't have one. So the CM gave Ethan the pin anyways.
I would like to get the kids a starter kit each so they can do a little trading and keep the pins we have now.
We also have a few pressed pennies and we should find a penny book to put them in.

How'd you guess that we wanted pictures?? :goodvibes
They are lovely!
I was looking over the shows you'd like to try and I noticed that you had "Woody's Cowboy Camp" on the list. I'm sorry to say that this street show is no longer being performed. :sad2:
Tricia and I are pretty much addicted to those silly pins, although she is the expert trader in the family!
I highly recommend the Crystal Palace breakfast, especially if you can get a pre-park opening ADR! :thumbsup2 There's nothing quite like walking up a near-empty Main Street USA!

Is it too early to start shopping for an October trip?
A couple weeks ago I had some GymBucks that were about to expire. The kids didn't really need any summer clothes. But I didn't want to waste a good coupon for Gymboree. Their clothes are cute and durable and they fit my kids well. So I went online and found some cute shirts for Ethan for the trip.
I stuck with the pirate:pirate theme and I got a shirt with a neat pirate ship, a skull and cross bones and Ethan's favorite creature a crocodile. (Think Tick Tock Crock from Peter Pan) I also got one pair of shorts.
When they came I quickly packed them away in Ethan's suitcase. I need to snap a couple pictures.'
Then last week, I was in Target and I walked through their Dollar section. They had some adorable Nemo and Little Mermaid items. Stickers, activity books, bubbles a lot of fun stuff! I picked up some of them to take on the trip as "Tinker Bell" Gifts.
They are hidden away in a suitcase too.:rolleyes1

Like many of my fellow DisBoarders, our family has made numerous trips to WDW. On previous trips we have sometimes skipped either Animal Kingdom or Hollywood Studios. So, we have only managed to watch Fantasmic! one time. On our most recent trip we planned to see it only to be disappointed due to large crowds. We don't buy hopper tickets so were unable to return to the park to see the show.
This time I have a plan though. . . Fantasmic Dinner Package:smickey: The only flaw in my plan is that it is too early to reserve it. Park Hours for October aren't out, so I can't even plan for the appropriate day. I can only wait.
I did come up with a basic plan for each ADR I picked restaurants we haven't tried along with a few old favorites. I pick restaurants in the park we are planning on being at or in a nearby resort.
Here's what I have so far:
Arrival Day
Downtown Disney for dinner at Wolfgang Puck Express
Magic Kingdom Day
Crystal Palace Breakfast before Park Opening, and 'Ohana for Dinner
Halloween and MNSSHP
Breakfast at Kona Cafe and dinner at El Pirate and El Perico
Epcot Day
Lunch in England (Fish and Chips) Dinner at Tutto Italia
Disney Hollywood Studios
Lunch at Flatbread Grill Dinner at Hollywood Brown Derby with Fantasmic Dinner Package
Animal Kingdom Day
Breakfast at Tusker House, Lunch at Yak N Yeti Counter Service, and Dinner at Downtown Disney Earl of Sandwich.
I have been searching for a new pair of sandals, I am really picky about shoes, I like good quality that lasts and is comfortable. Not frilly or fancy but usually leather so I can dress them up. I read about Keen shoes and sandals here on the Dis and they get good reviews. I received an email from a website where I have ordered shoes before and they are going out of business so are offering some great deals. But no returns or exchanges.
I found a pair of Keen Venice sandals on their site for $59.99 but since I haven't tried them on I decided not to take a chance.
Today I got an email from them again saying 40% off and $2.99 shipping. They still had the sandals in stock in my size! So I ordered them for a steal! $38.99 including shipping! I can't wait til they come and I hope they fit!
The website is ShoeTrader.com

They are great sandals for high arches, they provide very good support. If I don't wear good shoes I get really painful heels so I love them.
No need for a pedicure because they have a closed toe. So without further ado here is a photo of my :scared: feet...

While planning our trip I was aiming for dates that included the Mickey's Not so Scary Halloween Party.
Little did I know that as a bonus I would get the Food and Wine Festival. I am really looking forward to this special event. Apparently it lasts quite a while, and so if you have a trip booked anywhere from Sept. 25 until Nov. 8 you can enjoy it. The special kiosks will be a great way to snack around the world!:lmao:
Which leads me to think about snack credits and the Disney Dining Plan. We are big fans of the Dining Plan. We enjoyed free Dining back in Sept. of 2006, but the hot weather made it unbearable. I am hoping the end of October will offer us a much better weather experience. Our trip is booked and is mostly paid for, but I am still hoping for a special like free dining. The anticipation is killing me though. . . It is also causing me to question the dates I selected. We have our tickets for MNSSHP already so I can't change the dates too much. But if they were to offer free dining through Oct. 28 then I would have to back up our arrival date to take advantage of it. I have heard on the Dis that some folks are receiving special "Pin Code" offers for free dining through October. I am hoping they offer free dining to Disney Visa Holders next.
Well, we are heading to the beach for a little trip so I have to get some more stuff packed.

It's 99 days until our trip now!:cool1:
Now you would think I would be a little more excited and yesterday I was very excited. But what a difference a day makes!~~ I was speaking with my Sister-in-law and now I am scared that I may not have a job.
I work at a Mother's Morning out Program at a church. I have worked there for 1 1/2 years now. Over the summer we are on break. At the end of the year the director was concerned about enrollment for this fall. She said that she would keep us according to seniority and those of us who had been there longer would have jobs.
Now I have learned that two ladies who haven't been there as long as I have have jobs and my position is in jeopardy. So I am really scared about that and disappointed that she isn't keeping her word about seniority. :sad1:
If you are out there reading please post and say hi! It would help lift my spirits. I really could use some prayers and pixie dust.

I had to come to your trip report to thank you! I saw your post on Kathy's ptr with the free dining codes, we are staying at POP and I called to get the free dining, but upgrade to the basic plan and was told I couldn't. Then I saw your post, so I called back and got it :) THANK YOU!!!!!!!
We went to the MNSSHP on the 31st in 2005 and while it's probably more crowded then some of the earlier events, it was completely managable - I didn't think twice, because it was our first party. The only lines are for some of the characters, rides are still short waits. And we had good views for the parade too. We got stuck behind the castle that night for the fireworks, but that was just poor planning on my part.

Thanks for the suggestion I'll have to consider that. . . only issue is I don't like shrimp I could make myself a steak though. I wonder what else Australians eat. Vegamite Sandwiches??:goodvibes
:goodvibesThanks for stopping in! I am glad you got your upgrade! Have you made your ADR's yet?? What did you pick?

I went online at 6:00 am! Leesie the dog helped get me up she is always up at 6:00 (sometimes she tries to get me up at 5:00am) ready to eat her kibbles, she has diabetes so she gets to be pampered even on Saturday mornings.
Here are our ADR's for our upcoming trip
Friday (arrival Day)
Fantasmic Dinner Package at Brown Derby
This was the only day we could book it since Park Hours for Nov. haven't been released.
Oct. 30 4:30 pm. I am hoping to change this one because we will have to leave our house at 5:00 am in order to get to Disney, Check in, and then head over to the Studios and if this is our only Studio day we will miss out on Toy Story Mania
Oct. 31 Breakfast at Kona Cafe 9:30 am
MNSSHP later that day
Nov. 1 Animal Kingdom Yak & Yeti Lunch 12:30 pm
Nov. 2 Tutto Italia Lunch at 11:30
Nov. 3 Breakfast at Crystal Palace 8:05 am
Nov. 4 No ADR's not sure what we will do this day. It may become my alternate DHS day. Or we may end up back at Epcot.
These aren't necessarily my final plans, I will have to see when I can change my Fantasmic Package to a day when we can spend the whole day at DHS.

You are doing a lot of Character Meals!:thumbsup2 Sounds like fun. I will need to fine tune mine and see if I can get a better night for the Fantasmic Package. I just don't want to spend park admission on such a short evening. I may add one day to our park tickets if I can't get another night for the package.
I guess our only character meal will be Crystal Palace for breakfast. This will be our first time there for breakfast. We loved lunch there but I can't wait to get in the Magic Kingdom before they open.

Our Goal for this trip... Have lots of fun at MNSSHP and avoid the crowds.
November Park hours are finally released
http://www.disneytravelagents.com/St...lendar_Nov.pdf
When I made my ADR's I tried to follow a few basic crowd avoidance guidelines.
Mainly, avoid Magic Kingdom on Mondays and Saturdays
Avoid parks with Extra Magic Hours
Avoid Animal Kingdom on Wednesdays.
Without the November schedule I wasn't able to book my ADR's and know which parks had EMH. So I just kind of guessed! I am thinking that Oct. 30 must be a good day for Fantasmic because they still had ADR's available for the Dinner Package. I think I will leave that the same. But that leaves us without any plans or park tickets for our last Day Wed. Nov. 4. I will have to add a day to our tickets. But which park should we go to?:confused3 On previous trips we have gone to the Magic Kingdom on our last day. But with our late arrival to the Studios we may miss Toy Story Mania. So maybe we should go back to the Studios for the morning? Or have another day at Epcot?
Anyone care to share an idea or opinion on the matter?

Today started out well, it was the first day of school for my little fishes. We were planning a Movie Night with Nemo! After all it was his first day of school!
We walked down to the bus stop together and waited together. We were really early. The kids got on the bus without any tears or worries *big sigh of relief*
Then I found out that I lost my job.:sad1:
The kids came home from school, and we had our Movie Night. We had some shrimp on the barbie! *Thanks for the idea Kathy* and some Nemo Gummy Candy.

I happen to have difficulty sleeping. Frequently, I wake up at 4:30 am, and start worrying about things. Like my job, or the kids going to school or Ethan.
Let's start with the job situation. I started looking around online as soon as my Sister-in-Law told me that I wouldn't be working in the one year old room because there were very few one year olds signed up. (at the time she said that there were three classes of three year olds but she didn't know who was teaching them all) As I looked online I noticed there were very jobs that I was qualified for. Before I had my kids I worked as a paralegal assistant. I really enjoyed the work and so I started looking into that sort of position. Nothing in my area.
A couple days later, my boss called, and left a message that she wanted to see if I was interested in the class for Three Year olds, but it is only a Tues/Thurs. Class. I was definitely interested. . . no diapers to change and older children who could do more detailed arts and crafts! I also offered to fill in when needed on Mondays and Wednesdays. The downside is that it isn't a guaranteed 4 day a week position but this is better than nothing, and I can try to do more sewing the other two days and add things to my website. My classroom is set up and school starts Sept 1 for us! We have 10 kids in our class.
So that takes care of that worry.
Well what has been waking me up at the wee hours of the morning lately? DISNEY! And this isn't the good kind of waking up anticipating the excitement of the trip. I am concerned because of the fact that I became enamored with the idea of going to Disney World on Halloween. So the kids don't have any days off school during our trip, I did center it around a weekend , but not a long weekend. So what's the big deal? Parents pull their kids out of school for vacation all the time. Here in our school district they have implemented a very strict attendance policy. Five days unexcused 10 days excused. After three days they must have a doctors note for it to be excused. Our trip would incur 5 unexcused absences. After 5 unexcused absences a certified letter is sent to the parents notifying them of school policy. After the 6th absence, Dept. of Family and Children Services is notified and parents can be charged with a misdemeanor. :scared1:
So in order to maintain my sanity and steer clear of any DFCS people, I am thinking I need to modify our trip a little. In other words cut off one day.
I can do that two ways, keep the kids in school until Noon on Friday and then head to Disney immediately, that would get us there at about 9:00 pm give or take an hour. If I do that, than I would have to cancel our Fantasmic package. I called to see if I could book a Fantasmic Package for Nov. 2 but they didn't have anything available at the Hollywood Brown Derby and I am really looking forward to that place.
So now I am contemplating canceling the last day of our reservation which is Nov. 4 and heading home a day early to make sure the kids only miss 4 days of school.
Right now I am in a holding pattern because I think I would like to check them out early on Oct. 30 rather than cancel the last day entirely, because that would allow us a whole day at DHS, instead of the current situation where we would only enjoy an evening at DHS. We really love Toy Story Mania and we won't be able to ride it unless we can get into DHS in the morning. The other thing that could help us enjoy everything we wish to see would be to change our tickets to Park Hoppers. I don't know how much that will cost though. Stay Tuned for any further developments. ..:3dglasses

That stinks that the attendance policy is that strict - we are really lucky that our district isn't that strict.
Park hoppers are $50 per person.
Good luck figuring out what to do. I'm glad your work situation has worked out though.

:goodvibes After much angst and worry I have figured out a way to prevent the kids from missing 5 days of school unexcused.
There were two ways to avoid this, one was to leave later in the day on Oct. 30, but that would cause us to miss our Fantasmic Dinner package I had scored at the Hollywood Brown Derby. The other way was to cut the trip short by a day. :sad1:
But perhaps there was a third option! I looked at the calender, and counted, several times to make sure my idea would work. Everything looks okay, but will I be able to change the hotel reservation? I figured that if we could check the kids out of school at Noon on Oct. 29th, and arrive one day early, and I could cut one day off the end of the trip, essentially backing things up a whole day and they would only miss 4 days!!
I got on the phone to Disney I didn't want to lose our Pirate Room, or the free dining. Would the dates be available?:confused3:confused3
:surfweb:The Disney Agent looked at her computer!
:dance3:SCORE!!!
We are now arriving on Oct. 29th and checking out on Nov. 4
The kids only miss 4 days of school, which will keep us from receiving that dreaded certified letter, we get a whole day at Hollywood Studios so we can ride our favorite ride in that Park and I can keep my Fantasmic Dinner Package for Oct. 30th!:dance3: Can you tell I am a happy camper!:woohoo: I am off to change my Ticker.

My sister gave me this photograph a couple years ago. I put it away somewhere safe so I wouldn't lose it. Of course, I promptly forgot where I put it. It was in a ziploc bag with some portraits of our family and I was very pleasantly surprised to find it. So I thought I would share it with you.
This is me on my first trip to Walt Disney World. I was 3 1/2 years old. The lady in the photo is my Dear Mother. She is holding my little sister who was born in Nov. 1975. This picture was taken in January of 1976. We stayed in an RV in Fort Wilderness.

I adore old photos from Vacations gone by. So I thought I would also share a larger version of my Avatar picture. This is from our second trip to Walt Disney World in May of 1980. We stayed at Fort Wilderness in a tent. I still remember how hot it was. But I also remembered the Electric Water Pageant, campfire sing alongs with Chip & Dale, The Hoop De Doo Review, The Luau at the Polynesian resort, swimming in Bay Lake and waiting for the ferry to take us to the campground from The Magic Kingdom.

That's me in the blue shorts hugging Mickey. My Brother, also hugging Mickey, is wearing the yellow tank. My Sister (the baby in the other picture) is the one wearing the striped shirt and the little guy in the lower left hand corner is my brother Andy. We had one more little brother join us in 1983.

We are just 41 days out and we have started our countdown calender
Here is what it looks like to begin with.
http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n205/i20west/IMG_0407.jpg
I used a poster board and cut out the letters, numbers and Mickey Heads with my Cricut. Then added the Mickey and Minnie Stickers and had the whole thing laminated. The black Mickey heads represent the days we have our Family Movie Nights. The last Mickey Head represents the day we leave and it says "OH BOY" Each night we stick a solid black Mickey Head over one of the ones on the countdown.
Abby adds a Mickey Head

Ethan adds a Mickey Head
http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n205/i20west/IMG_0410.jpg
We started the countdown on Wednesday night (I wanted to wait until Movie Night and this way both of the kids got to put up a Mickey Head.)
We watched Peter Pan and ate some food that kids love to go with the Never Grow Up theme. We ate chicken nuggets, cheese cubes, and fruit with yogurt dip
http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n205/i20west/IMG_0403.jpg
for Dessert I bought the kids chocolate pirate: Pirate coins and ring pop (treasure)
I had a few Whoppers (cannon balls)
In other news, on September 2nd I joined Weight Watchers. I have lost 8.8 pounds so far and my goal is to lose 26 pounds before our trip.
I am starting to work on our costumes, I purchased 8 yards of white fabric to make our Pirate shirts. We also ordered Ethan a hat and some Pirate Keys. They have come in the mail and I love the hat! It is adorable. The keys are real metal and are heavy, I may have to sew a clip or a tie into Ethan's pants for them to hang on.

Weight Watchers is a very good program, foods have point values based on fiber, calories, and fat content. For example, broccoli (no butter or oil) is 0 points. You can purchase books with restaurant foods and their points values.
A McDonald's Big Mac is 13 points.
You are given a limited number of points per day based on how much you weigh and how active you are. Throughout the day you journal what you eat and how many points. There is also a weekly points allowance for special occasions, or days where you are feeling hungry. You can earn more points for exercise as well. No foods are off limits, but if you aren't careful you can use up your points for the day quickly. Then you can eat vegetable soup for dinner.
Meetings and weigh ins provide support and accountability. Or you can sign up online and follow the program completely from home.

All day Sunday it rained and rained. . .
The rain, rain, rain
came
down, down, down,
in rushing, rivers. . .
Sunday night it got worse, thunder and lightening were added to the mix, a lot of thunder and lightening. We were jolted out of our sleep many times through the night by loud booming thunder. The dogs were terrified by the weather and didn't want to go outside.
At about 4:30 I woke up and used the bathroom and the toilet made a weird sound. I tried to turn on the faucet in the bathroom . . . no water. I looked out the window, the street lights were out and the neighbors houses were dark. We had electricity, so I went downstairs and turned on the tv. Overnight we had received over 12 inches of rain, we have had rain everyday for at least a week and it had rained a lot all day Sunday. The Weather Channel says our county received over 16 inches of rain in the last 2 days.
The water started to trickle, but we have to boil it before we can drink it. I am not sure if I can run the dishwasher. I have been able to use the washing machine so that has been helpful. I am watching my niece while her parents are working. The road to her regular babysitters house has a 8 foot gap in it. So they can't get out of their neighborhood and no one can get in.
There is a lot more rain headed our way and it is storming right now.
We are trying to keep our heads up above water here. If you are watching the weather channel and you see reports about Douglas County that is where I am at.
Waiting to hear if school will be closed tomorrow.

The kids are still out of school, we are still having to boil water so we are using bottled water to drink and to cook with. Thankfully we have enough water pressure to take showers, and wash clothes and dishes.
The kids are supposed to go back to school Monday. It sure has been an odd week. When the county's schools are closed then my preschool is closed as well so I didn't have work. But because my niece's regular sitter was stranded in her neighborhood with no way in or out I watched her and despite my protests, he paid us.
Monday was bad, Tuesday the flooding got worse. I-20 and I-285 were closed because of flooding from the Chattahoochee River, and Sweetwater Creek, one elementary school ended up with water up to the roof. Ron couldn't get into Atlanta on Tuesday so he couldn't get to work. Yesterday they reopened I-20 and he was able to make it into Atlanta.
But thankfully, we haven't had any more rain so far. It may rain on Saturday.

Today I will be cutting fabric. I have many outfits planned for our trip plus a couple pirate costumes so I have a lot of work a head of me. It is easier to cut everything in one day then sit down at the machine.

We have less than a month until we arrive at our resort so I want to share a few pictures from our first trip as a family in March 2005.
Abby was 4 years old and Ethan was 9 months old.
Ethan got his first haircut in the Magic Kingdom Barber Shop
http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n205/i20west/P1010030.jpg
While we were there they put Abby's hair up and added blue gel and lots of "Pixie Dust"
She was already wearing her Cinderella Dress, then we went to eat dinner at Cinderella's Castle.
http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n205/i20west/P1010038.jpg
She loved the chocolate crown she had for desert.
http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n205/i20west/P1010046.jpg
While we were there It's a Small World had been closed for refurbishing. That night they reopened it for a short time. I love that ride and that night it was so beautiful. Ethan fell asleep and I put him in the sling, Ron took my picture as we walked up the ramp exiting the ride.

They sure grow up fast! That was only 4 1/2 years ago. Now he is a big Kindergartner and Abby is in Third Grade.

We leave in 2 weeks
1) The Princes are sometimes out for the parties but it's not guarenteed
2) Yes, the Tremaines are out by the castle
3) Totally worth checking them out for a little bit. There is so much to do at MNSSHP, it's hard to get it all in (especially if you eat and/or ride rides). Know that you won't be able to do it all and try to get to MK at 4pm (when they allow you in with costume) and get dinner/rides out of the way before 7pm. That way at 7pm you can start the party activities right away!

I had planned on sewing some on Friday but my SIL asked me to babysit her kids for the whole day. The good part of that is that she pays well, so I may end up buying Ethan a costume. DH can wear his shirt he wore before and I can sew myself a shirt I have a black skirt to wear, I wonder if I should make a sash, I also am considering buying a hat for myself. Add buttons to DH's vest, buy him a fake sword and we are ready to go.

Which villains show is the best to go to, is the 7:45, and 10:05 busy because of the parades?
Are the fairies and princesses around in toontown on party nights?

I came from the link in your signature in my trip report. I can't wait to hear how your plans go. Your sewing skills are amazing. I hope you didn't look at my kids' costumes in my trip report. It sounds like you have everything planned perfectly. If I can answer any MNSSHP questions I would love to! pirate:princess:

All of the villains shows are well attended, but there are plenty of places to get a good spot to see. The princesses are with their princes in the Toon Town Fair. The fairies are also there. When we were there it was Aurora and Phillip with Cinderella and Prince Charming. Then I think it was just Tinkerbell that night. Normally, there are one or two other fairies in the room with her! princess:

I'm here, I have just been busy. I am trying to get everything ready for the trip of course.
I am still :confused3 about Ethan's costume. He is asking me for a blue vest like Jack Sparrow wears.
I just finished up some items for the DisBoutique Big Give. I hope the families like them. I can post some pictures after they receive them. ;) Until then it a surprise!:ssst:
Today I have been running errands. It seems like we ran out of everything at once. So I had to get pet food, groceries, and cleaning supplies.
I picked up a sterilite container to pack our costumes in and another one for food and snacks.
I have a lot of fabric cut out for outfits for the kids so I just need to sew them together. I am working Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday but I will be able to work on stuff after lunch. I hope to post some pictures this week.

Less than a week to go and boy am I busy. The extra hours at work are great for the pocketbook but not so great for housekeeping and sewing.
Unfortunately, Abby has been sick since Wednesday, She came home from school with a fever and has had a fever since then, first thing this morning she had a fever of 100.5. She usually doesn't get this sick, it has been a long time since she has had a fever for more than a day or so.
Today I was able to get some things sewn for the trip. I haven't been able to take any pictures yet though. Making some progress feels really good I am hoping to finish up one more shirt tonight. We'll see if I get it done, Ethan has been interrupting me a lot. I think I am going to end up buying his costume, we'll see.
I added another ADR to our Epcot day, while we were browsing through pictures of food on the Restaurant thread, Abby saw a picture of Remi at Chefs de France. Apparently, he is still making appearances there, so I made a 5:00 pm Dinner reservation. I don't want to cancel my lunch at Tutto Italia, but I don't want to eat a lot for dinner so I will just order something light.
We are getting really excited, especially about the Halloween party. pirate: We have been waiting for our Disney Movie Club order to arrive so I called their customer service line, apparently the order card was damaged in the mail and they were unable to read the order. She took my order over the phone, gave me free shipping and when I told her about our trip coming up she said she would make sure we got them before we left. And I still get the Halloween pin for free! Even if they don't get here until Wednesday we can watch them in the van on the way there.
Hopefully, Abby doesn't have the fever in the morning.

Hi Nancy!
Shorts weather sounds great; we've been cold and rainy here in Jersey!
Hope Abby bounces back quickly from her virus... rest and fluids!
I've been running around like crazy, too. Good luck getting ready!

Good News, Abby has been fever free for two days!:goodvibes
We went to the Halloween store and picked up a hat for me and a new hat for DH, and swords for Abby, Ethan and DH.
All I need to finish our costumes is a shirt and vest for Ethan.
Abby missed my niece's birthday party on Saturday because she hadn't been fever free for very long. My niece turned one year old!
She started getting sick last night, and today they took her in to the pediatrician and they diagnosed her with H1N1. She is just one year old so keep her in your prayers that she will get better quickly.

Weight Watchers is going very well. At my first weigh in after vacation I had gained .6 pounds. Very good for an after vacation weigh in they said. I weighed in again on Friday and lost another pound so I am up to 18 pounds lost total!
