For my parents 40th Wedding Anniversary I'd like to decorate their cabin. Did I read that DCL no longer provides this service? If I decided to do it myself, what might you suggest?

You might want to check with www.theperfectgift.com, they specialize in things like this, BUT & I mean BUT since Sept. 11th DCL will not let anyone on the ship to decorate the cabins anymore... security reasons. You can still check them out, they can hook up something nice for your parents 40th Wedding Anniversary. Hope this helps.

Or you could just go to your local party store and buy those white and or silver paper anniversary bells and garland. They pack flat and when you get onboard you can decorate. Maybe have perfect gift send some nice floral arrangement and anniversary mylar balloon. Champagne and DCL flutes might be nice as well!!

I like spending people's money!!!

Thanks for the advice! What do you think about twinkle lights? I was thinking about bringing a set and an extention cord. Also, MJ, the bells idea is perfect especially since it will pack flat. My brother is bringing streamers and my sister is bringing a blender with a few margarita mixes. I've called the perfect gift and they gave me some great ideas. I just wanted the DISers point of view.
Again, Thanks!

Maybe you could find the twinkle light than run on battery. I know I always seem at Christmas time, but not sure if you could find them now. Definitely with the extension cord if you can't find battery.

I would definitely recommend "The Perfect Gift". Call Shirley, and have her deliver a basket to YOUR room filled with all the trappings to decorate your parents room. No hassle for you and less to pack! She has such creative ideas also!
