Cabs from All Stars to Downtown Disney

Has anyone ever taken a cab from the All Star Resorts to Downtown Disney and if so how much was it? I am going to Orlando for a seminar in Sept and staying at All Star Music but the seminar is located at the Courtyard by Marriott in Downtown Disney. I was thinking it might be cheaper for me to take a cab to the seminar in the morning and then just walk to DTD and take a bus back to ASMu in the afternoon after the seminar is over rather than rent a car. The seminar lasts 3 days, I will be at WDW 2 days before the seminar and then 9 days after the seminar and I really do not need a car once the seminar is over. I would use Mears for transportation from & to the airport. Thanks!

Disnee Dad Says.............................We need a little more information. Yes you can walk from Courtyard to DD, maybe ten minutes. If you can bus back, can you bus in, or is it too early for that. I also assume that you would take the cab to Courtyard, and not DD. If I had to guess, and that is what this is, All Stars is maybe 5 to 7 miles from Courtyard, so I would expect around $11 to $15.

I can't take the bus in the AM because the seminar starts at 8:30 AM and that is too early for a DTD bus. I know you can walk from the Marriott to DTD because I have done this before and it is not a bad walk at all. I had figured the cab to be about $10.00 plus tip. I would want the cab to drop me off at the Marriott in the morning. $15.00 plus tip would be approx $18.00 per day including a $3.00 tip which is a little high I think.
Has anyone taken a cab from anywhere in WDW to DTD? How much was it and did the cab come quickly with good service?
