So, since it's 2 person per room, how do you deal with alarm clocks? Let's say I have to get up at 7, but my roommate has a closing shift -- do I have to wake her up also?

I mean, I know we'll each use our own alarm clock, but my phone can be pretty loud and it usually wakes other people up. Is there any possible way to avoid this?

I don't think so. I know you would feel bad about waking her up but you need to get to work also. Maybe she will be a heavy sleeper!!!!!!!!!

yah don't even worry about it. there is nothing you can do about it. its not like you will be purposely making all this noise, you have to work.

As long as you're not constantly turning on the snooze (ie more than 2 times) I dont think they will notice/care. I remember briefly waking to my roommate's alarm, but I always fell back asleep immediately. Non-issue, really.

Unless of course you do use your snooze feature excessively. Then they may not be too happy with you.

Haha, no, I don't press snooze at all really. Especially when I know there are other people close by. I absolutely hate waking people up; people can get really cranky in the morning!

Luckily my roommate in college could sleep through a bomb. But I like to snooze a LOT!! but when people are around, I try to pull myself out of bed. Most college people are really adept at falling back to sleep, sleeping with the light on, with background noise. It's just something you need to establish with your roommate when you get there and get your schedules. Sounds like there shouldn't be a problem because you don't hit snooze a lot.
Have a Magical Day!!!

You'll both have times where you'll wake each other up - life with a roommate!!

A trick we did was to run a fan in our room. It wasn't hot, but the hum of the fan was great at covering up the other noise - using the restroom/shower/sink, getting dressed. My roommate was a genius for bringing it and I highly recommend it!

That's a good idea, since I'll probably be using a fan anyways.

I would say if you think your phone is that obnoxious then to get a normal alarm clock to use or set your phone to a lower setting (I set mine at medium low), but frankly after 2 weeks you guys will be used to each others alarms and never hear it. I never hear my roomates alarm anymore and my roomie doesn't flinch when I get up in the morning so I can assume she doesn't hear mine either. It really shouldn't be to much of a problem.

I sleep with earplugs every night, and I used them while on my program. After awhile, my other roommates opted for earplugs as well. All you have to do is set your phone alarm very loud and keep it under your pillow.

One thing that works for me is putting my phone on vibrate and putting it under my pillow. So long as you stay on your pillow I think it would scare you awake...with your pillow vibrating and all. But it doesnt work for everyone.

hahaha, i do something very similar whenever i sleeep over friends' houses and have to wake up very early in the morning. most of my pjs have deep pockets so i just put my cell on vibrate. then just stick my phone inside my pocket before i go to sleep. works every time.
