I just noticed that my stateroom is a connecting room. Does anyone know if these rooms are noisy? I mean, do you hear noise from the other room because of the connecting door more so than regular rooms ? If so, I still have time to change I think. Thanks

I have cruised 3 time on the Magic. First time in a regular ocean view room. No connector. GREAT. Second time, ocean view, secret porthole toom, YUCK :( Horrible noise from sides, and above. Last cruise 5/25/02, room 7610, regular verandah with a connector room. GREAT! GREAT! Only heard my neighbor one time and that was when kid was screaming about the clothes that he did NOT want to wear. Besides that, It was great! Would do it again. Hope this helps.

I am very gunshy about connectors because we had one on Sovereign of the Seas, and the family next door might just as well have been in the room with us. The door was right by the bed, so there was NO privacy. On Disney, we were once in a connecting secret porthole room and had the "kickboxers" next door (the kids sounded like they were slamming each other into the door). I think a lot of it has to do with who you are next to, because our only other adjoining experience on Disney was quiet except for once in a great while when our neighbors were going in or out...then we could hear their voices.

I agree with Barb, it depends on your neighbors. We had a connector on our first DCL cruise and I will not have one again. Listening to their kid scream and slam into the door all night was horrible. Also, they had set an alarm that just kept going off when they were not in the cabin to turn it off. I know its my imagination, but the non connector cabins we have had seem larger without that door there.
