Have you heard about how all white flowers in the garden or in a container, are supposed to "glow" at night? Well, I thought I'd try this in a couple of containers that sit on the edge of the deck. I planted white geraniums, begonias, lobelia, and verbena, and then I .......panicked!! LOL! I was concerned they'd look too "boring" so I added a sweet potato vine "Blacky" to each. Actually the contrast is kind of cool. When they really get going (positve thinking here!), I'll take a picture and let you see how they turned out! :)
Has anyone done a section of their garden all in white? Did it "glow?"
Kim :)
Snowwark while at the Boston Flower Show there was a Night Garden. They took a small corner, made a small patio added a bench and planted just about every kind of white flower. It was beautiful. They placed this display in he far corner, were there was very little light and yes it glowed.
I think when you are adding a Night Garden it need lots of white plants, a few in a pot just do not do it. I agree I think your pots could benefit with a little color.
After seeing whats lurking around my yard in the dark, I think I'll stay on my above ground, well lit deck.

I've seen pictures of "moon gardens" and they look most elegant in the night's light of the moon.
I agree about their look during the day, though. Washed out!

We have a white bush, I know it is quit common (we call it the stink bush, smells awfull at times, so don't plant close to house) but do not know the real name. It is really pretty at night when in bloom with tons of tiny white flowers.
name of bush is "nikko" or dwarf slender duetzia.
