Hoping to get some opinions on the above hotels. I have looked on tripadvisor and they are all highly rated but wanted some DIS support/advice. We are spending 4 nights in LA prior to driving to Vegas. We plan to do Hollywood and Universal and Santa Monica during this time and think being based in Hollywood would make it easier to drive around.
Of course any other suggestions would be great as well.
Anyone who has stayed at any of these or can advise on location etc, would be muchly appreciated. :thumbsup2

I am assuming that you are referring to the Renaissance Hotel in Hollywood, correct? If so, stay there (based on what you are planning to do). That hotel is located right next to the Hollywood & Highland complex (which has the Kodak Theater (the Oscars)), and is just a five minute drive to Universal Studios, and perhaps 30 minutes from Santa Monica.
The Omni, if I am not mistaken, is in Downtown Los Angeles. Really nothing to do there except to go to LA Live.

Yes, that's the one. Thanks for the advice, I didn't think I would get a reply.
That looks the best option.:thumbsup2
