Read good things about both..Seems more people favor Hyatt..

How are beaches/water quality at Hungtington Beach or Laguna Beach?

Heard Hyatt just re-did their pool area, which became crowded in summer months..Put in a slide pool for kids..Looks real nice..

Going to Laguna Beach from there for a day...

Heard real nice things about Laguna Beach and Huntington Beach...

Anyone have any favorite restuarants either location..Have older kids, one 14, other 22...

Thanks for your input..Can't wait to do DL 4 days, Huntington Beach, 3!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:banana::bana na::banana::banana:

Hands down, the Hyatt. The food at the restaraunt outside is very good. Beach is typical California beach--lots of stuff going on. Concierge lounge is excellent.

Be sure to have breakfast at Sugar Shack (http://www.sugarshack.com) just up Main Street.

Mmmm ... Sugar Shack.

Duke's on the edge of the pier is an upscale local favorite.

For good local Mexican food, my family raves about Las Barcas and their giant burritos. Here's their website. http://www.lasbarcas.com/ It's in a strip mall at the corner of Beach and Atlanta, about a mile inland from PCH and Beach Blvd.

Forgot to respond to the hotel part of the question ... the Hyatt is several years newer and a bigger complex. If the hotel itself is important, I'd go with the Hyatt. If you just want to be close to the beach, both are just across PCH from the beach, and the Hilton is closer to downtown and the pier.

Which one has the better pool?
I am going with 3 girlfriends and we are just looking for something with a great pool to lounge.

We stayed at they Hyatt in Feb and loved it.

The pool was nice and I think they were upgrading it to make it even better.

I would love to stay there again!
