So much for my joy yesterday at being all booked for September - have just had an email from Aer Lingus cancelling my flights for the 24 September and moving us to the 25th September - arggghhh - have just checked their schedules and they are taking off Tues, Thurs and Sat flights from that week we could go with Easyjet but their flight doesnt get in until 9pm at night so we would loose a full day. Am not a happy bunny now.:mad::mad::mad:

Have just had a look about and we could go from Dublin but it is the getting there that would be a problem or we could change to a Wed flight and stay overnight somewhere nearby and get to Disney nice bright and early the following morning but if we go with Aer Lingus that would mean taking the kids out of school for an extra day - oh too much to think about now! Oh just had a look we can get a Travelodge at Dublin Airport for €29 so could go there the night before. Right off to have a think about what to do.

Would it be worthwhile contacting Disney and asking if they can change your booking to one day later, as your flight is one day later? Or would that not work out for you?

I booked my flights with BMIbaby in January, and got an email early last month saying they had withdrawn that flight, so I'm now arriving at DLRP about 7 hours after I was originally scheduled to - I was very disappointed at the time, as I had planned so much for those hours.

But, at least we are still going, and we've been given notice of the flight changes - some aren't so lucky.

emanlu, I've just seen on another forum that Travelodge are having another sale on 23rd April, £9 rooms between August and November :).

thats such a pain! Aer Lingus did the same thing to us a couple of years ago.

saw that you said you could fly out from dublin, but you didn't know how you'd get there...sorry if you're already aware of this but if you are coming from Belfast, theres a bus that goes from the Jurys Hotel in Belfast directly to Dublin Airport, takes about 2hrs and a half. First bus is at 6:30am. Now you wouldn't make the first Aer Lingus flight from Dublin to CDG but I think theres another 3 after that one so if you can get the next one you shouldn't get to DLRP too late in the day....can send you the link for the bus company if you want it...

hope you manage to sort this out soon!:)

Oh no, I really feel for you. Happened to us, but I managed to get a flight change. Feel really lucky. Just have to hope that doesn't change. It really is rotton though, every minute is precious. It isn't as if you are there for two weeks holiday and a flight delay would not matter too much. Hope you can sort something out. Keep us posted.

Thanks for all your replies - I have calmed down a bit now.

I think we are going to see if we can get the flights changed to Dublin, it will mean an extra 3 hours journey to get there but we can split the journey by staying with my mum the night before and then all go to Dublin together the following morning from her house, the flight leaves an hour earlier than the flight we had planned to get so it could work in our favour! Dh who is not coming with us has been volunteered to drive us down and luckily we have a 7 seater so my mum and brother can fit in as well.

Just a thought - for those of you who have booked flights and then been notified of these changes after booking, are you not able to claim something back on travel insurance e.g. for unused hotel days or extra cost to book a flight on the correct day?

Just read your post, then rushed off to check my emails to check that they didn't cancel any of my flights in August - but not so far. The same thing happened me with Ryanair before & I ended up just cancelling my trip, so I hope you get something sorted. Maybe you live near me - I'm about 3 hours from Dublin airport too (on a day with very little traffic) - I'm in Derry. It's bad enough having to travel home after a flight from Belfast - I hate landing in Dublin and knowing we still have to drive all the way home, but it will be worth it to get to Disney.

After going through all sorts of plans including staying in Belfast overnight and getting the bus to Dublin we have decided that for the couple of hours that we will miss in the park we should just go on Thursday 24th Sept as planned but flying with Easyjet from Belfast at 6pm.

I have just booked return flights for 4 of us for £170 so I am happy with that (even got DH to pay :):):):):):):) and hes not going with us!).

I now need to get my money back from Aer Lingus so will have the fun of doing that tomorrow!

Once i have that all sorted I can get on with planning!
