My person still hasn't gotten their gift. :sad1:
Did you get delivery confirmation? Can you track it?

That towel is sooo cute.
Theresa, I can't figure out how the bowl got broken? It looks from the photo like it's a hard plastic/melamine? :confused3

It is hard plastic, but that is certainly breakable. It looks like the box was not treated very well in transit - the bottom was quite damp. It was probably broken by the other hard plastic items in the box :confused3

In the picture I posted of my exchange, I turned the bowl so you could not really see where it's broken - but here you go.....

Inside that was a ginormous pink (my favorite color) beach towel. Super perfect because I just bought a new swim suit yesterday! :woohoo:
http://i306.photobucket.com/albums/nn259/disneylandprincess/DSC00807.jpg
I love, love, love your new beach towel!! The color is awesome but the flip flops are just so cute. I wear flip flops year round now! Everyone gives me a hard time (they are BAD for your feet, how can you walk in those all day, don't your feet get cold, blah, blah, blah) but I wear them anyway - because I can! No cold, snow, or ice for me again!
Oh Courtney - We used the cute glasses and the shaped ice cubes you gave me on Tuesday for margaritas! And I have to hide my purple water bottle because DBF's DD has her eye on it!! Do you remember where you got it? I want to get her one for her birthday.

I bet it's nice to come to CA and wear flip flops everyday! Especially from being in CO where there's snow!!
Woohoo for margaritas with shaped ice cubes and cute glasses! :yay: :woohoo: I'm really really glad you enjoyed them. :upsidedow
We have an Eddie Bauer outlet in the Camarillo Outlets right across the freeway from my work. I was walking by it to go to another store and I saw it in the window. I thought it looked cool!
:rotfl: I've seen other ones (not Eddie Bauer brand) around before. With that cool little ice guy in it. Maybe Target or something like that?

When is our next exchange? Huh? Huh? If we do a character one, can I pick someone somewhat obscure just to make it impossible? I do adore Si and Am!!!
Tina, the pool floatie was a huge monster hit in Palm Springs last weekend. Apparently everyone in the group including my nearly ( in June) 90 year old MIL had a go at it!! My DD8 enthused about it for days!! I, of course, was at work during the festivities. (which is seriously okay with me since my DH is the youngest of 9 children, and I don't mind missing events with the in-laws, have far too many!)
Now, my DD keeps commenting that if we had our own pool we could use it more. Hmmm.
Anyway, I see someone else got the same model...it is cool.
I hope the rest of the parcels get to their destinations soon!!

Oh I'm so on board for a character exchange!!! I love doing this type of stuff, unfortunately my other boards never want to do it. I want my person to get her stuff NOW! lol Unfortunately because I'm a lamo it was mailed late. :( But it should be there ANY day now! YAY!!!
Oh and the towel at Target, did anyone see the pirate one? His patch flips UP and you can see his eye underneath it. lol Too funny. I like that pink one, but pink is not my color (unless it pink toe nail polish lol) so I'd rather have one in purple w/flip flops. lol :)

:rotfl2: Wow. Si and Am might be a challenge. I'd definitely better allow more shopping time for the next one! ;)
Well, to answer your question, sign up for the Favorite Disney or Cartoon character will begin on June 12. :cool1:
Sign-ups will run for a week, until noon on June 19. Once sign-ups are closed names will go out later that day.
There will then be a full TWO WEEKS to shop till you drop. :rotfl: Mail-by date is not until July 3.
Don't worry about remembering all this, I will definitely be posting announcements on our other thread once sign-ups begin. But it will be nice to have something fun to look forward to during the long hot summer. Just don't mail out any chocolate!! It will be soup by the time it arrives. :rotfl:
Oh, and Vegas gals, I know for part of the shopping time, you'll be on vacay, that's why I allowed more time, and remember we are hitting the Disney outlet while ya'll are here, so no worries. :thumbsup2

Oh yes...I love, love, love no snow! This is the first winter in my entire long life that I have not had to deal or step foot in snow! In Feb. I flew back from FL through Denver and I was hoping so much that it would not be snowing so I could really have my first 'winter of no snow'. We are going to Denver next weekend for my niece's graduation and I am praying there is not a freak :scared1:snow storm...those do happen even at this time of the year!!
She really likes the ice thing in the middle and she has Band Camp...('One time at band camp' opps regressed there a bit :rotfl:) in August and they are out in the sun all day so to keep mine from disappearing I want to get her one. I've only driven through Camarillo but we want to come to the Van's outlet (the one in Simi closed in Jan.) so I think with that store and the Eddie Bauer outlet we'll have to make a trip there!

Every time I see a pic of that towel, I want one. :yay:
Oh, and just a heads up for the Christmas stocking exchange. It's going to require a little bit of restraint and discipline on your part. :rolleyes1
We'll have the usual sign-ups, and mail by dates, BUT in addition to that we will have an open date. Meaning, even when you receive your stocking, you cannot open it! Torture, I know. ;)
I will pick a date that allows ample time for ALL packages to arrive and then everyone waits to open their package on the same day. Just like Christmas morning. :santa:
(I won't make you actually wait until Christmas Day. For one, who can wait THAT long, and two, Christmas is usually hectic enough as it is, and I want this to still be separate and special, kwim?)
Anyway, we did it once for another Christmas exchange and it was fun. Hard to wait, but fun knowing everyone was opening their packages at the same time. Sort of like being there together but not really. kwim?
Well, if y'all think the idea sucks, we don't HAVE to do it. :rotfl: It was just a thought. :goodvibes

I just got home and was able to open my box from January. Thanks so much for the cute things. I'll post pictures later but here's what was inside:
A cosmetic bag (I almost bought one at an outlet mall I was near this week, glad I didn't)
Inflatable Monkey, Palm Tree, and Flamingo (the kids want me to blow them up right now)
Ariel Beach ball and Ariel Tote
Water Balloons
Note set
Lime Green Pen (very cute, can't wait to bring it to work...otherwise my girls will claim it)
Stickers. Perfect for my scrapbooking.
 Thanks so much January. This exchange was so much fun. I'm looking forward to the next one.

So did I read it correctly that there will be another exchange before the Halloween one?
Yes. We are doing one in June/July. The theme is Favorite Disney or Cartoon character. So it can be anything from Mickey to Sponge Bob, or whatever. I will ask people when they sign up to list their top three characters just in case nothing can be found in their first choice.
And this one is going to include kids as well. So if you want to sign up your DD you can. You can sign up just your kids, or just yourself, or you and your kids.
I will have kids sending to kids, and adults to adults.

Thanks! We are planning to take our bikes because are staying in the tent cabins in Curry Village. I am glad to hear it is easy riding because DBF wants to hike up to the top of Yosemite Falls, not the first part of the falls but the higher part. Yikes...I need to get in better hiking shape!
Any other tips or info that you have for me would be great!

Beth...take note...I think these two exchangers deserve each other. :lmao:
Who/what the heck are Si and Am? Cats? Si...am...ese I'm going to go with cats. From where? Lady and the Tramp?
And do they have Billy action figures or t-shirts? Or do we just get a flannel shirt and rip it up? Maybe some black wax for missing teeth?
I may have to pass on the next round. It's just gonna be too hard! :headache: I myself was thinking along the lines of Buzz Lightyear or Goofy or a character people actually recognize.

A Billy action figure would just crack me up. I would have to buy that just because that sounds super funny.

Oh Beth how fun!!!! I will have to make sure to budget for my kids too! lol :)Yeah, it's fun with the kids involved too.
Ooh, Billy Hill. What a great idea !! I happen to love him too.:lovestruc
At a show last Dec. he gave my 84 year old Mom a kiss right on the mouth !! So funny. A gal a few tables down kept saying that SHE wanted a kiss like that.Oh my. If Callie or Tina sees that they are going to be jealous! lol
I may have to pass on the next round. It's just gonna be too hard! :headache: I myself was thinking along the lines of Buzz Lightyear or Goofy or a character people actually recognize.Well, that's why I'm asking everyone to provide three choices. ;)
You can also sign up your kids, or one of them. The kids like to get mail too, and they typically choose easier characters. :rotfl:
Uh, never thought about it? And it doesn't have to be Disney? Oh boy, that makes it harder.Nope, doesn't have to be Disney. So if some have little kids who are into Batman, or Spiderman, or Hello Kitty, those would work too. Hello Kitty is sort of a character isn't she? LOL
But...my creativity for these obscure character selections might make the exchangers regret their esoteric choices. :rolleyes1Now you're just using big words that I don't understand. :sad2:

Obviously since you are hot!!
I will take that under advisement!! Good to know. Off note, are you Jen with one "n" or two?
I'm Jen with one 'n'
Actually had a roomate once who was Jenn with two 'n's
So I went by one 'n' and she went by two 'n's
Jennifer is fine too, but not Jenny
I got to get off the computer and go pack.
My little one isn't feeling well. A bit of a stuffy nose, lethargic and a bit of a fever. Started this morning. I'm hoping he kicks this tonight, so we can still go tomorrow.
Hopefully, we will be at DL tomorrow night! Send pixie dust.

I wouldn't mind it one bit!
That's way harsh! He wears overalls, not flannel!
I may have to pass on the next round. It's just gonna be too hard! :headache: I myself was thinking along the lines of Buzz Lightyear or Goofy or a character people actually recognize.

Beth--add a group viewing of the Billys to the schedule and sign me up! I need to find out what all this hullaballoo about Billy really is!
And is Bakugan a character? My boys love love love Bakugan, and I'm not sure exactly what it is, but I know they'd be thrilled to get him/her/it/them in the mail.

Okay girls, we've got a late entry here! My package arrived from the ever-busy, traveling Kerry! I don't know how you managed to shop at DL in the middle of all your travels, girl. I'm impressed.
So the package looked like they'd been playing soccer with it. Nice dent in the bottom. With what the post office charges us now, you'd think they could manage not to crush the packages.
She put a cool sparkly tissue and a wonderful card on top. She must have gotten this card at DL, it was a 3d card with a fun Mickey and Matterhorn in a paper and plastic little scene in the middle. I'd never seen it before and it was really special. I've got it on a table in the living room.
There was a lovely Bodyworks tote with a watercolor painting of flowers (the prettiest tote now that's hanging in my kitchen) and inside it was:
a fun colorful bath sponge
Shower gel
liquid soap - grapefruit (this is going right by my kitchen sink, need this!)
hand cream
a package of nice milk bath that my gym-worked muscles are going to enjoy this weekend:cloud9:
There was also some Avon and chapsticks and some nail goodies - love the emery boards with hearts and flowers on them. :)
Some 3d toe art that looks like fun
She also got me a small cat frame that has all the Disney cats around it - I will put a pic of my two kitties in it! :simba::ccat:
The key chain that says 2009 (and has characters) will remind me always of the year I joined the divas :cutie:
There is a simple little Avon bracelet that's an infinity sign on an elastic band. What's lovely about it is that the money goes to an organization for empowerment for women around the globe. :grouphug:
Lastly, there is one Vinymation pin! Kerry, thank you so very much for my wonderful exchange. I really appreciate the time and trouble you took to find so many goodies.::thanks:

Woo Hoo!!! I'm so glad you got it!!! and so sorry about the box!! Probably good that I decided against the jarred candle. LOL You know I looked all weekend for Vinylmation pins and only found that one!!!! I was so disappointed!! Yes, I could have bought a box but I forgot. lol I was intent on trading for the darn things I forgot you could still buy them! ROFL!!! Yes, that is definitely typical of me. lol :) I really like that bracelet, I have a bunch of them and I give them out as gifts or as Thank You's to special people. I love the message that they send out and I love that they are so basic and not over the top. :) I'm glad you like everything, and I forgot to include a bottle of nail polish I had for you so I'm planning to send that off to you. I just need to get my hands on a small box for it, I was so annoyed with myself too, I bought pink because it's girly and I bought blue because it's your favorite color...and then proceeded to forgot to put it in the box, it was wrapped in bubble wrap like the other one and I didn't see it. LOL So ya, that's what I get for doing an exchange when I'm so busy! LOL At least you know it was late. :)

First, I wanted to let Stacerita know just how much fun my Mom had with the summer package she sent her. Yesterday my mom got bit by a scorpion so she had a bad day. When i took the package to her, she was like a little kid with it!
Thank You, Stacie for the pretty card, I read it to her and she said she couldn't wait to share jello shots with you at the next dis diva meet!
http://i44.tinypic.com/1z3azc4.jpg
My Dad was right, my mom is a wild woman since the Girl's Only Diva Trip! And Stacie is encouraging her with yummy stuff to make jello shots!

Here is where things get FuNNy! My mom wanted to make a post to make everyone smile.. so... here goes the first pic.. look at what her dolls are holding.
http://i44.tinypic.com/2jciuyd.jpg
Next there was a reaLLy cute, Tinkerbell water bottle for when my mom works out in the yard! She was so happy because it has the coca cola logo on it and her laundry room is all in coca cola memorabilia. I love my mom's sense of humor, she's so fuNNy! She was giving her Rooster a drink from the cup.:rotfl:
http://i40.tinypic.com/hskjuh.jpg
Then she went out to her garden to show the really nice garden kit that Stacie gave her! She was so HaPpPy with the knee pad as her knees hurt after working in her garden. She loved Everything and said to tell You, "thank You for being so sweet to this old woman!"
http://i40.tinypic.com/20qdif9.jpg
OOps.. i forgot to post the really cute stationary packs that Stacie also sent.. big hug..thanks for thinking of me too! My mom couldn't wait to put them on her desktop. Look at the pics of my mom and dad when they were little..aren't they cute!

Donna...we live in the desert.. there are lots of scorpions.. :confused3 the stings *HURT*..but you live. You just try not to be in places where they are. She moved a rock and FaFiNkA..it stung her. i'll ask her where she got the rooster. she really liked you!
AmySue... my mom would love that! i always keep her updated on what's going on with all the girls. she was sad when you said you might not get to go. You better go!
Oh, and Dawn--tell Sally she'd better hold tight to that rooster!

My mom was really interested in that. Her kitchen is alll roosters. Her wall by the fireplace in the den is a collection of crosses... all kinds and sizes.. really interesting.

Me too! Your parents look adorable in those young pics.:goodvibes
I know quite a bit about classical feng shui, the art of how your home can influence your life. Roosters are traditionally used to ward off malicious gossip and jealous people. Your mom must not have a problem with that!:rotfl:

My Mom is a rooster lady too! She has a bunch of rooster's in the kitchen.
I could see the wall in the background of your picture. The crosses looked really neat, it looks like she has a ton!

Ok I have a random question about this... I'm moving to California and I'm completely paranoid. In Indiana, there is one poisonous ANYTHING, a spider. A spider, meaning one and it's rare. I'm moving to a house on a ranch. It's a huge "what if" but what if I get a scorpion? Is it true that I can put something in my window to keep them from coming in? I heard I can put lavender in my windows or near and that will repel them. I'm being stupid I know but still.... :rotfl2: You probably don't know but I have to ask. :rolleyes1

Scorpions tend to be in dry desert-y places. Which is not Santa Barbara. I would be more worried about rattlesnakes (don't go walking out in the hills).

Good evening exchangers!!
I see there was another fun arrival! YAY! Sally looks great. Thanks for sharing those pics Dawn. I hope she feels better soon. Scorpions, yikes. Although I know we have them here too, I try not to think about it. ;)
Dawn did you receive your package yet? I don't have it marked off, but perhaps I missed it.
If NOT, then we have Dawn left to receive hers, and Stacie(rita) to receive one more part to her exchange. Then we are done baby!

It is less likely you'll get a scorpion in Santa Barbara. I have never ever seen one in California. The dangerous things are black widow spiders and some snakes. The ranch owners should fill you in on safety there.
Honestly, it's the driving that you have to be concerned about. You'll adapt quickly.

That was such a shame... I loved "Blame it On the Rain" when I was little too and I was so let down when I found out they were lip synching. Vanilla Ice rules.... well Ice Ice Baby only. It's amazing how those one songs stick with us and those one songs only.
Not just Ice Ice Baby, don't you remember Go Ninja Go Ninja Go from TMNT??? Hello.....LOL Oh and did you know that Vanilla Ice does thrasher metal now?? He says he did rap because that's what his producers made him do but I don't believe it. lol You can find him on My Space actually, and listen to his new "music". LOL I really liked Blame it on the Rain too, I wish whoever it was that really sang that song had come out and claimed it.
I just realized when pixiewings replied that this is not the Kerry who is traveling (that's kertggr). pixiewings is Kerri. Kerri, were you at the first diva meet?
No, I was traveling too. The weekend after we got our exchange names we traveled to DL for the weekend, lots of driving for some park time. :) That's why I didn't correct you, I thought that's what you meant. LOL I was not at any of the Diva Meets, altho I was in the parks the same weekend as this last Diva meet, I never saw ANY of the Diva's, I looked & looked but nope, didn't see anyone..... :( I do feel like I'm somewhat an important member of the meets tho, when Beth and I first started chatting she asked me what I thought about doing a Ladies Only weekend and I encouraged her to post it. :)

I remember we'd moved to Vegas in July of '07 and were planning to get our DL annual passes that October. It was in October we were going to meet and it didn't work out right?
I had started the WDW ladies trip in '06, and was planning on starting one for DL but I wasn't a regular on the DL board and didn't know what sort of interest there would be. :confused3
The WDW ladies went on their second trip in November '06 and I stayed home because I couldn't see flying from Vegas all the way over there. (I hate to fly!) I remember I was bummed out I'd missed going and was bored, so I decided what the heck, and voila, the first DL trip thread was born. :yay:

And by then my BFF's wedding will be done so that will help with $$, it's expensive being the Maid of Honor! lol
Yes. Kerri is claimed! HA! :goodvibes :lovestruc

Wow, another wonderful exchange. Definitely worth the wait. ;) :cool1:
And with that we are done! I know technically we have two parts still to arrive, one book for Jane that is being released in June, and one more piece of the puzzle so to speak, for Stacie.
But the main packages have all been received now, so I am calling this wonderful Summer exchange complete!!
Thank-you to all the exchangers who participated. I hope you all had as much fun playing along as I did hosting. :goodvibes

The next exchange sign-ups will start on June 12 so keep an eye out for those. That theme will be Favorite Disney or Cartoon Character. AND it's open to children as well. :thumbsup2
See you then!!!
(Oh, Stacie and Jane, please feel free to post once you receive your last parts. We still are eager to hear all about them. ::yes:: Thanks!!)
Actually, it's me that is supposed to get the book in June. And I'm glad Stacie got her other book. I had just sent a message to the seller asking if they had a tracking number. I would love to see those, can you bring them to Vegas? I really want to get them, too.

Big Hugs for Donna!
That's the wonderful things about friends, they see the best in you!
Lucky in Love, Lucky in Friendships and Grateful for every blessing and hardship in my life for they instigate growth of spirit.
I don't know about ya'll but i'm going to do a little shopping for the next Exchange when i'm at Disneyland this weekend:thumbsup2 I live so far away from a Disneystore..that this will be my only chance to shop for character stuff. I know there is online, but you can't feel the fabric of the stuffed animals or look into their eyes and see if they are saying " Pleasssssssssssse take me home with youuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu!"

Dawn~ Your hair looks fierce girl :thumbsup2.
I also want to start shopping for the character exchange, but since I don't know what character the person I get likes, it's sort of hard. I've gotten a few things I just couldn't resist so hopefully I'll be able to use them. If not I'll find someone to give them to .
