Hi all,
I have a question;

When putting a link in your signature, how do you make it appear as words?

I'd like to put a link in my sig. for my PTR but I want it to say "go read my PTR" or something like that instead of showing as the link.

Anyone???

TIA very very much!

:thumbsup2

You signature works just like a post. If you click on the insert link icon (little globe with a chain link) it will pop up a dialog where you can paste in the URL. This will insert some text that looks like:

<URL="http://www.disboards.com">http://www.disboards.com</URL>

excepting I've put <> instead of [] so it will show up. The URL is the part in quotes. You can change the text between >< anything you want.

<URL="http://www.disboards.com">DIS Boards</URL>

Hope this helps.

Copy and paste this text into a new message:

<URL="http://www.disboards.com">DIS Boards</URL>

and change < to [ and > to ] every where. Click the preview button. You'll see a DIS Boards link.

If you use the dialog to insert a link then the text is the URL. This also happens if you just type the URL in the message and allow the board software to parse it (assuming that you have "Automatically parse links in text" checked in the Miscellaneous Options). The board software adds the markup that I'm trying explain for you.

Basically I'm assuming that cathie1327 didn't know you can change the text between the ] and [.
