mark the date of the 28th May in your calendar. Prepare for a special screening of the new Pixar movie Up :)

There will be further details announced later...

Oh by the way only in the El Capitain Theatre, Hollywood at 12.01am :lmao:;)

Thanks.......I think. I guess if they start doing things in New England or New York I will get more excited and think about joining.

Wow, that is the day of my Bday but I'm planning on being in Dland that day w/ my hubby. So I don't see that announced on the page on Disneygo.com for joining - is this something that was announced via email to people who have joined? I was planning to see UP! at El Cap on Sunday (later that weekend). It will be in 3-D at El Cap, so that is a treat if they are letting you guys in for free (?). I'm still hoping to get D23 membership for my Bday (husband is saying "no" but maybe he's going to surprise me - I can only hope!)

Seriously, if they hosted events up in the Bay Area (Pixar Studios in Emeryville would be nice!), I'd join.

He is being sarcastic - this "benefit" is VERY limited as only a very small percentage of the D23 members will actually get to experience the movie. ;)

With so many films being released at similar dates worldwide these days, why is it the Disney/Pixar animations take so long to come to our side of the pond?

Ratatouille/Wall-E/Bolt all took ages :(

That's OK, you do the same to us with Doctor Who and Robin Hood... :)

yeah, but no one from the east coast will benefit from anything so far except for an overpriced magazine and overpriced merchandise. I just have no reason to be excited - i wish there was an exclusive showing for 25 people in NYC- at least then I'd have a 25 out of however many people chance of getting a benefit. until then, i'll just have to enjoy Pete's rants about it all instead.

D23 is looking more like a Disneyland fan community to me.

I can only reply that every American TV show is shown at least a month later in the UK, if not a season later!

It's not as though they have to translate it!:lmao:

I cannot see how D23 is even worth considering... other than to just be a part of another piece of Disney...

Easy....if you like the magazine and intend on buying them then join D23 and it is probably worth it. If you don't like the magazine then it probably isn't. I really like the magazine so you know where I stand lol

:lmao: I have been to the El Capitan to see two movies but there is no way that I would be in that part of Hollywood at 12:00am. It's a little freaky in the day time, can't imagine what it would be like at that time!

i'm assuming you feel the magazine itself is worth the money. I'm going to see the mag first to decide if its worth $16. I love the Imagineers' Guides - they're all $10 each!

Yep, tho Heroes is only a week later in the UK than the US at the moment, but I still download it as I'm impatient ;)

Is that show going anywhere? I watch is every week - usually one of the few shows I watch live and not TiVo'ed, and episode to episode i kind of like it, but overall the plot just seems to not move. I hope they can continue it and make it entertaining throughout - i really like some of the characters and the overall concept.
