Yesterday I interviewed with two elementary schools in a district in the Kansas City Metro Area. I was told it would be about a week before I heard back. Well... today I got a call and both schools want to hire me, so I was given a choice of which one I wanted! I will be teaching in an elementary behavioral and social skills room next year! :cool1::banana:
I've really enjoyed reading the threads here and getting the parents' perspective. The school is in a very low income area and works a lot with parents. They have a parent home liaison, a program that provides services like teaching parents love and logic, and a before and after school program. Obviously I will be very involved with the parents since many of my will experience challenges with their behavior in home as well as school. Reading your threads gives me some perspective and hopefully will make me a better teacher.
