I wonder if they gave him his Tink statue before he was pushed aside.

By the way....you receive a Tink statue for 30 years of service....then pay to attend your own awards dinner! What a company!!!

DH just got his Tink 9 days before his first buyout offer. Fortunately he was told even though the offer came from the West Coast friends.....the East Coast grownups would not accepthis buyout -- too important -- for now. (health care too important to US !!!)

From the Orlando paper.....

Walt Disney World senior vice president Jerry Montgomery takes buyout after 30 years
Jason Garcia | Sentinel Staff Writer
April 14, 2009
Another well-known Walt Disney World executive has left the company.

Jerry Montgomery, most recently the senior vice president of conservation and environmental sustainability for Walt Disney Parks and Resorts, said Monday he accepted one of the voluntary buyouts Disney offered its domestic-park executives in January.

The buyouts were in addition to roughly 900 layoffs Disney has made in Florida this year as part of widespread cost-cutting. Disney has also eliminated about 500 open jobs in the state.

Montgomery, 51, spent 30 years with Disney, including stints in human resources and public affairs, where he was frequently quoted as a spokesman for the company. He began his career checking in campers at Disney's Fort Wilderness.

I was under the impression Tink was the 25 year statue and Jiminy was the 30.

And I have never heard of anyone having to pay for their own serevice award meal in WDW. :confused3 Maybe it's different at other locations. But I would be surprised if it was.
Tink is for 25 years.
And yes, it is quite the company. :thumbsup2 :woohoo: I don't agree with everything, nor would I expect to.

1) Yep.
2) With all its faults, it is still a nice place to work.
3) Now, if we can start working on those faults . . . . . . .

I guess you don't work in the same division as my DH....but we choose to not attend awards banquets that we have to pay p/head.

Yes, my mistake.....Mr. Cricket was his 30 year statue....beat me with a wet noodle. He hasn't picked it up from the storage area near the janitor's offices in the basement. You would think they could manage to at least bring it to his desk.

Maybe DH just doesn't want to fuss with it on the subway - but after the last year or so.....he isn't too thrilled with things which remind him of working for the mouse.

I don't blame him. It was a hard lesson to learn when he discovered how unimportant he was to his employer. Oh well....I just keep whispering.......castmember rates at the hotels......free park passes......forget about how they treat you......we will be spending 6 days at the Grand Californian next trip!

Good grief Mouseaholic, when will you stop with your misleading posts. Your constant desire to post stuff in an effort to imply you are an "insider" and know the scoop is pitiful.

Your DH does NOT work at WDW, and therefore the way things are done in his business unit, are in many ways very different as to how they work in parks & resorts.

No one has ever paid to go to their awards banquets and if you really knew your stuff, you'd know which character matched which anniversary.

Yes, send me to the stockade for getting Tink and Jimney confused - it is a mistake to condemn me forever and I humbly beg forgiveness of the all wize and powerful. I am just a simple mortal.

Any surprise! - there are indeed other divisions of Disney than WDW and they do indeed work independly. I am sure you danced at your celebration when you earned your Cricket. DH has always chosen to not attend the presentation. It's his choice - I doubt that you would understand an opinion other than yours.

Other than the 1,000 year-dreadful mistake of confusing Tink and Jimny, all of the information mentioned is correct. Sorry - but true!

Nice to see you back - we missed your refreshing open-minded comments in your absence.

Have a magical day.
