Vistana Diamond Lane check in for owners only

I was just informed by staff at Vistana that Diamond Lane check in is reserved for owners only. We will be staying there by exchanging points so we will not qualify. I do not know if this is a new development or if it was a fluke that others were able to use Diamond lane check in. Just thought I would let you know so you would not be disappointed if you are not able to use it.

Hmm, this sounds new to me. I'm an owner, and I must admit, I've always felt there should be a seperate line for owners, but I still think they should keep the Diamond Lane open for everyone who wishes to use it and then just have another seperate "owners lane". Thanks for this update. I just stayed at Vistana in Oct/Nov '01 and this was not the case with the Diamond Lane.

I just went to their web site and used the online Diamond Lane form and no where did it say that it was for owners only. I do happen to be an owner but it didn't ask that on the web site. Check it out. www.Vistana.com. :D

That is weird. On the Timeshare Users Group website, almost everyone who has traded their timeshares for a Vistana week has used the Diamond Lane checkin. I hope that hasn't changed. I'll be there in 36 days.

I have a reservation with Vistana Resort through an Interval exchange. I used the online form mentionned above, and got the confirmation today:

"Reservation# xxxx from 10/20 to 10/27
Thank you for using the Diamond Lane.
Please bring your reservation number to the Front Desk,
we will need the imprint of your credit card,
and keys will be given to you at that time.

Thank you,
Diamond Lane."

Well, I'm gone and come back and Diamond Lane check-in worked great. I arrived at 1:00 pm They checked me in promptly and and told me come back in an hour to pick up my keys and I was in my villa in the section I requested at 2:00 pm. I was in the Cascades section. The unit was beautiful and the resort was great. We loved our stay there.
