Thanks for all the threads and chat on this site. We just closed on our BCV/DVC points and I know we made the right decision. Hope to see you all at the BCV on day!

I often tell my kids, they don't really understand how lucky they are with annual passes and now this.

Yes, it is truly great living so close. Now, if only those darn weekend points weren't so high, hee! hee!
Enjoy your DVC!

We have the opportunity to enjoy DVC in a different way than most of the others on this Board. You will TRULY enjoy your membership - being so close. When you're only going over for one night, or even two - you'd be surprised how easy it is to get those last minute reservations!
We NEVER take long trips... We joined in the spring of '97, and have (checking my spreadsheet) made 57 reservations in that time!
It has been absolutely wonderful. We're driving over tomorrow morning for my birthday - it's gonna KILL me not to stay over!! :)
Welcome Home fellow pirate!!!!

Congratulations and WELCOME HOME!!
I would think living that close would be a mixed blessing. I know for many (including those posting on this thread), the proximity and frequency of visits doesn't seem to diminish the joy and magic of the experience of visiting WDW.
I honestly don't know if it would affect my mentality or not. I think I'd like to find out though!;)
And Beth....57 visits in 5 years!! I'm not sure I've made that many visits to the supermarket in that time! :D :D :D

I don't know if living so close is that great, then it doesn't really feel like a vacation. It's only
like a day trip...
I am speaking for me, but my husband would love to live in Florida and be close.
I just don't feel we would appreciate it as much as we do now.
10 more days and we will be driving there....
Have fun!:p

I thought moving to Florida would seriously change our WDW vacations and how we use our points. It really hasn't. We staill make one big trip per year.
In five years, we have done two weekend trips and one once night trip. We are a lot farther, a little over 200 miles or about 3 1/2 hours. Maybe 70 miles would make the difference, but our vacations have changed very little.
Welcome Home!!

Congratulations!
It would be great to have DisneyWorld for a backyard playset! I'm a bit jealous.
