DS#2 - 2ish - first trip (celbrating 3rd Birthday at WDW)
DS#3 - 2 - first trip
sub in's
MIL/FIL - will be staying at their time share partaking in some of our activities.
When: October 18th - 23rd
Where: Wilderness Lodge
Why: Two reasons really. The main reason is we won the trip through Roger's Publishing House. They are flying our family there and back. 5 nights in deluxe resort. 4x 6 day magic your way passes. Signed up for transportation from airport to resort (and return). We are responsible for food and our own spending money. Second reason...we set the date so we can Celebrate the twins Third birthday in the World !!
I am so excited. We have been planning a trip to WDW for a while now. But we were going to wait until the kids were older. When we were told we won we were definatly taking advantage of it. It will be so nice to see the kids reaction. They have no idea where we're going. The plan is to not tell them until we get there. It will be so nice to watch the magic in their eyes.
So far we have our room booked. Flights should be booked within the next week or two. I'm looking into CARES for the airplane ride. I am borrowing an ERGO to help manover with baby (who will really be a toddler by then - but I'm not ready to admit that :rotfl:) Plus we are looking into a couple Stroller Swaps. Plan is to get a double and a single that way I don't have to wear baby all the time. Other then that we have no idea of where to start. Dh says its to early to plan but yet everyone on here says it's time to start. So I'm starting.

Yes it was a great package. I am very happy. Plan tickets have been purchased officially! We are one step closer. Now I need to figure out what else I can plan now.

Your trip sounds great:thumbsup2. The boards are really a great place to read all about and look at pics of your resort. Allears.net is also very helpful.

Ok so Resort - booked, flights - booked, CARES & Ergo - arranged, Double Stroller - booked.
Still have the single stroller as interest.
Now it's time to decide on MNSSHP and start thinking of Reservations at all.
After that - packing lists.
What else am I missing?

Do you have an idea of what parks you want to do on what days? Are you going to do MNSSHP? You can buy tickets for that May 1st (next FRIDAY!!)
lilmissie
04-25-2009, 10:57 PM
I have no idea what parks to do what days lol. And as for MNSSHP we're undecided. DH really feels it's to expensive for just him and I as the kids will sleep through it. I was going to see what prices are like on May 1st and decide from there.

I will be at Wilderness Lodge the same time as you - from Oct 17-20. I'll be at WL all by my widdle self, and then on 10/20 my BFF comes to meet me and we're moving on to Animal Kingdom Lodge till Oct. 26!
I highly recommend MNSSHP. I'm going by myself on Oct 18 and then again with the BFF on Oct. 20. It is just amazing and I need two nights to do everything!
I hope you update soon!! Have you done any additional planning? Got any ADRs tentatively planned? I'm definitely eating at Whispering Canyon and Artist Point!

I am still stuck on what to plan so early. I am waiting for my Birth Certificate to show up so that we can order passports. DH is still not sure he wants to go to MNSSHP so as of right now we're not going:eek: but I am hoping that I can get him to change his mind ;) As for any other plans - nothing really has been made. I have looked into the possibility of a grociery delivery. I have no idea what to get for ADR's. I need to still look into that a bit so that we're ready to book them. I know we want to do a character meal on the Monday (twins Bday) But other then that I have no idea what the plan is. I don't even know what character meal yet:scared1:

I'm in! We're taking our 2 year old for her first trip in Sept!
How about showing pics of your family? You could also start looking at menus and decide some places you want to eat!

I will have to get some pictures loaded up but then I can post them. Hopefully later tonight I can get that done. Where would I find menus? Wow this is all so new - yet so exciting!!

I spend hours here looking at menus: http://allears.net/menu/menus.htm
Crystal Palace character buffet is awesome. I've never done Chef Mickey's or Cinderella's Royal Table or 1900 Park Fare but they look pretty sweet too!
lilmissie
05-13-2009, 10:43 AM
Thanks I'll start looking at the menu's. Cinderella's is not really appealing to me as I have all boys. But I'm sure now that I have the menu's I can get something rolling.

My Birth Certificate showed up the other day so now its a matter of filling out all the passport papers and getting those on the go. One step closer! Have glanced at the menu's a bit but still not sure on a whole lot yet. Thinking we're only going to plan 2 or 3 supper ADR's and let the rest of the week just go with the flow. We will be eating breakfast in the room. And planning on bringing our lunches. And we're pretty easy going on suppers. It could just be hotdogs or pizza's most nights.

I echo the suggestion for Crystal Palace, if your boys are into Pooh & friends. They would probably also enjoy Chef Mickey's.

Well not much to post yet. Tonight DH and I are planning on sitting down and going through some more of the menu's and try to figure some of that out. We talked to MIL/FIL and we're going to use all our tickets and they'll buy there own. So we're pretty much set. Still need to get the passports going though.

So October hours are out! I am so excited now the true planning starts. Must have everything ready first thing the am of July 13th to start booking ADR's. So here's a rough guess - still to be approved by DH and ADR's to be booked.
October 18th - Arrival date. No parks planned. Thinking we'll spend the day getting into our room, seeing our resort, playing in the pool. And maybe head down to the campground area for the Chip N' Dales campfire movie thing. More or less plan nothing and see how the kids dictate the day.
October 19th - TWINS 3rd BIRTHDAY!! I'm thinking we'll spend the day at AK - get a safari booked in there. Hoping for ADR for CHEF MICKIE'S for around 5:00ish. Then head over to Epcot. Wander the world pavilions then watch Illuminations.
October 20th - Not sure where to spend the day. I'm thinking MK. No ADR's. Wanting this to be 'adult night' where MIL/FIL will take the kids for the night. We'll have a nice supper at a non-disney resturant. (Possibly Red Lobster) Then head over to Downtown Disney.
October 21st - Spend the day at MK. No ADR's planned. But want to stay for Spectro Magic and Wishes.
October 22nd - Split the day between Epcot and DHS - or possibly spend all day at DHS and ADR for Fantasmic. Stay for Fantasmic.
October 23rd - Departure Day. Nothing Planned. Maybe venture to boardwalk area or back to downtown Disney.
Any other ideas or suggestions? Please remember as of right now this is not set in stone - the ADR's can't be booked until the 13th so I'm open to ideas.

Hi! We have the CARES and have used it several times. It is great, just make sure you practice at home so you can get it on and off fast when you get onboard.
Your schedule looks great, very relaxed.:)
We get to make our ADRs on Monday!! :woohoo:
lilmissie
07-18-2009, 02:56 PM
Thanks for joining.:thumbsup2 We are hoping to have two CARES and one carseat. We would have loved to have three cares, but by the sounds of it a friend of mine is going to only be able to set us up with two. :confused3That's ok though. She's done a lot towards this trip for me, so I'm happy with two sets plus the ergo she's sending me. She's my lifesaver. Still havn't done much planning. 2 more days until ADR day!! So excited and then let the planning begin lol.:surfweb: I did mess up previous thinking July 13th was ADR day when in all reality is it July 20th. But that's ok I got it all sorted and I'm ready ... I think :rotfl:

So we got Chef Mickie's at 5:30 on the 19th!!:cool1: I am actually very happy with this time. I originally asked for 5pm. But this time will work out better I think. :thumbsup2
I wanted to book fantasmic supper package, but I forgot car insurance came off my cc last night and then the account switches to a new month as of midnight last night causing our fees to post. :eek:So I have made a payment right now. It will show in a couple days, and I will try again for our Fantasmic Supper Package. It would be really nice to have - but in all honesty, if we don't get it, I'll be completly ok with that as well.
The main thing is we got the kids Bday supper!!:wizard::banana::banana::banana:

Ok and last minute (as in just now:rotfl:) I decided to book Coral Reef on October 20th at 6:30 for just us two adults!! The plan is that MIL/FIL will have the kids that night anyways and DH loves seafood and I think seating by the tank would be so cool. So as long as MIL/FIL don't cancel - it can be our 'date night' supper!!:cool1::banana::cool1::banana::coo l1:

Well as per everyones request, I have decided to post some pictures! I will probably post a few as I have such a hard time just picking one or two lol. So sorry if this post is picture heavy. Just a pre-warning these pics are minimum 1 year old. We are having Hunters 2nd Birthday tomorrow, So I promise to post more recent ones after that. So here we go:
http://i140.photobucket.com/albums/r28/lilmissie769/00330024.jpg
That would be the Adult part of our Crew. MIL/DH/ME/FIL This was taken July 2008
http://i140.photobucket.com/albums/r28/lilmissie769/00300019.jpg
This would be our family crew! And yes I mean crew lol:rotfl2: I am holding baby Hunter (he was 1 in the picture). DH is holding Caleb and Seth who are also one in the picture (they turned two in October) Caleb is the red head plotting his escape, and Seth is the blond sitting in Dad's arm chewing his sucky lol.
http://i140.photobucket.com/albums/r28/lilmissie769/00220003.jpg
I posted this one just because it's too cute not to lol. This was how the littlest section of our crew made it down the isle for the wedding. My 4th girl in the bridesmaid part of the wedding party pulled them down the isle. Incase there is mistaking, Hunter is up front (black hair), Caleb is in middle (red hair) and Seth is pulling up the back (blond) and yes it is Caleb and Seth who are twins. I get asked a lot. ;)
So like I said this are all just over a year old. So I promise to post new ones after the birthday party.
Disney wise, nothing new to post. I am attempting to catch up on laundry so I can start putting the Disney outfits away. But with this many boys in the house, I don't think catching up on laundry will ever happen :rotfl:

Well not a whole lot to report. Passports are slowly starting to roll in:cool1: And since I was expecting them until around September 15th, I'm not going to complain that they are coming in early. So far mine and Brad's are here. So at least we know we're going :banana::banana: Now just waiting on the kids. We did get called almost 2 weeks ago needing different birth certificates sent in. So I have faxed those off last week, and haven't heard anything more, so I am hoping all is good. And now we just wait. I guess if nothing by the 15th of September then I call and find out.
I just found out that I'll be done full-time work as of October 2nd. It's put a bit of a sting into my budget, but I'm sure with some more creative planning we'll still make things work. I will still be working casual nights and Brad's benifits will kick back in so we'll still have income, it'll just take a bit to get everything set back up again.
Haven't gotten much further on the Disney planning. Hoping to start a planning notebook soon. The laundry pile still awaits me, but the plan is to be working on that later today which means I can start putting away the kids outfits that need to go to Disney!!
47 More days!! Getting VERY Excited!!:yay::banana::yay::banana::yay:

Thank you both!
That dress was perfect. But wow what a nightmare. I had a dream dress picked out and looked at the price tag, well needless to say that dress was no longer my dream dress.:rotfl2: So I had looked at a few dresses and fell in love with the one I chose. I talked to DH about it (I know they aren't supposed to see them before hand, but it was that or nothing so he was going to know):lmao: He had nothing against the black so I bought it. Got in for a very good price in the states (1/2 price of my orrigional 'dream' dress even after exchange.) Got it to my orrigional seamstress to take up the bottom a bit and she cut it too short. Like very too short:scared1: So I called in a family friend. She did amazing work for me and saved the day completly:worship: as it was only 1 week before the wedding as it was. She found white satin that almost perfectly matched the bottom and nice black lace and did up the bottom for me to the right length. Plus added in a bunch of beadwork for me at the bottom. It was absolutley gorgous. I couldn't have asked for it to turn out any better!!:yay:

Urg omg, I just had a LONG post and something happened and I lost the whole thing. So here I am again, and hopefully I don’t miss too much. It’s hard to believe there’s only 41 days left!! I’m so excited!! It doesn’t seem like that long ago we were approaching summer and I was telling myself that I’d wait until September to do a lot of the final stuff and get pulling things together. Well then I look at the calendar and eek it’s already the 6th. I better get my butt in gear lol.
Not much has happened as of yet. DS2 (youngest) passport has showed. So now we’re just waiting on the twins. I’m not panicking as of yet as Vital Stats stated they have until September 15th, and with needing me to send in different birth certificates I can understand if it takes a bit. But I can guarantee if they’re not here on the 15th I will be calling for sure to find out where they are.
I received an email about our flights. All of our flights have been moved to be about 15 minutes earlier. I’m ok with that as it’s really not that much of a difference.
I did some shopping yesterday. I haven’t taken any pics of the loot. But it’s all in a bag in my room, so I will try to get one soon. We picked up luggage wheels. The idea is we can tie the car seat we’re taking on it to pull through the airport as it is heavy (true fit) and we’ll have enough things needing to be carried. What else did I get? Umm... childrens Tylenol/motrin/vitamins. Disposable razors and travel shaving cream. Kids sippies. Two kinds. One is insulated for at WDW. The other are just cheap clearish ones that we’ll use on the plane. I think that was it (I can’t check as DH is still sleeping). I still have some more things to pick up, but really need to be making a list. Oh and I also picked up a digital ear thermometer. We used to have one but went missing during the move last year and I still haven’t found it. It’s not really just for Disney. But I have put it away with the Disney stuff so it doesn’t go missing before then.
I know we need to put together the kids plane packs. I’m thinking we’ll put in their clear sippies (empty until we get through security), snacks, crayons and paper, stickers, and maybe a couple books each. So there’s a couple things I need to pick up for that.
As well we might need some more little swimmers. I have a few packs around right now, so it just depends on how long it stays nice out around here to see how many the kids use before we go. I want to pick up some sort of adult allergy medication just in case. (I already have children’s stuff on hand).
And then I think it’s time to start getting things ready to pack. I’m sure I’ll go over this a million times over the next couple weeks trying to figure out if there is anything more I need to pick up before hand.
I do know that DH and I both need some more shorts. But the plans are to get some when we go into Winnipeg in October. Hopefully there are still some out somewhere at that point.
I think that's all for now. Now that we're getting much closer, I'm hoping to update more often. My list of 'to-do' for this week: start Disney notebook, and update Passporter.
lilmissie
09-10-2009, 09:31 AM
Well at this point not much is new Disney wise. I have still forgotten to take a pic of my shopping adventures from last week. And as of now I havn't done anymore shopping. I've been trying to make mental list of anything we may need. But I really need to get it on paper so I don't forget it. Anyone got any ideas of what I might be forgetting (other then everything :lmao:)
As for passports, we're still waiting on the twins. I havn't checked the mail yet today. But as of yesterday they were not here. So I guess it's just a wait and see game until Tuesday then I'll call and look into it some more.
This weekend DH is planning on taking the kids up to the cabin overnight Saturday to Sunday. So plan is to work on laundry and hopefully start getting the kids outfits organized so I can figure out if I need to get anything else.
School started for me this week. It's going to be interesting. I'm taking Chem and English this year. English is going to be an assignment heavy course which sucks. And the teacher is doing Chem through a mostly self-directed version which means I have to keep my act together and stay on top of everything. I'll do Bio and Chem next semester and then be able to take my next level paramedic the following year. So all this work will be worth it in the long run. But its just been so long that I've been out of school (Graduated in 2003) that it's taking me a while to get back into things.
Well I should probably go and get back to doing work (since I'm sitting here anyways lol) and get going on some homework, as one assignment is due tonight.
38 MORE DAYS!!

You were so lucky to win a trip! Everytime there is a contest with Disney as the prize, I enter, but I'm still waiting. We will be there Oct. 18-24th staying at the AKL. We will be celebrating my Granddaughter Emily's 5th birthday on October 19th. Hope to see you around the parks.:)

YAA! Have to report, DS2a's passport showed today!! That's all of them. We're on the right road to going. Now just to save up a bit more money and pack!! I was still meaning to take some pictures of my last shopping adventure but my camera decided to die. So now we are on a mission to get that replaced before our trip. So unfortunatly this PTR will be quiet on the pictures until we can get a new camera, but then I'll try to update all of our shopping trips to date.
My SIL is running a marathon this coming weekend, and we've been asked to attend. It's in the U.S. but we're considering putting the passports to the test and taking a trip down to support her. Still needing to figure out the minor details (such as work coverage) first lol.

What cute little boys! I am the mom to 3 boys as well but they are all grown up and now working on my grandkids (I have 5 of them). We will be there the same time as you, staying at Boardwalk/SSR. I suspect if I see you in the park I will recognize you by the boys but if you get a chance put a lime green Mickey head on one of your strollers as I bet there will be others that will want to say hi as well.
Congrats on winning the trip and I hope you have a wonderful trip.

Definatly starting to get excited. Still haven't taken any pictures of the shopping loot yet. But I promise I will soon. (Well before we leave anyways :lmao:) DH and I have gotten some shorts so we've got those now! Trust me that is not easy to find come Mid-September. Especially in Canada where the winter jackets are in the stores come late October :rotfl: The kids have way to much cloths. But that means I am so not doing laundry while we're down there. (Well at least not theirs anyway). I think we've picked up everything we need. Wait, we still need suckers for the flight, and some snacks, and maybe some body glide. :rolleyes1 but we're getting there. At first I was thinking 'ok about 3.5 more weekends to get everything ready I can do this'. Then I actually thought about it. I have no weekends available so I need to put my days off into full effect. This weekend I work. Next weekend I'm at my lil brothers wedding outside of town. The following weekend I'm working doubles as well as having a Thanksgiving supper here (there will be 9 of us ) Then the weekend after is our take off weekend in which we're also have a bday party for the twins for those who wont be there. So defiantly going to be crazy. But we will do this. Don't ask me how, as I haven't figured that out yet :rotfl2: That's been it for the planning so far. Hopefully in the next week or so I'll have more planning updates.

You can get it all done though. I have faith in you. :)

:banana::banana:Must say I am beyond excited!! We only have 20 days left!! Needless to say I am still not ready :lmao: but I'm hoping to get there over the next little while. Then again I guess I better or we're going with nothing lol. Still haven't taken pictures of the shopping loot, that's on the agenda for tomorrow. I still need to find Body Glide. I'm not even sure I can find that in Canada. But I'm defiantly going to try. Still need to fold the million loads of laundry piled up on the spare bed (especially since the babysitter is supposed to be sleeping in it this weekend :scared1:) Then it will be almost time to start packing. I have read somewhere that you should try to aimed to be packed by two weeks before the trip. Umm that's this Saturday - there's no way I'll be packed before then. How about 48 hours before we leave :rotfl: now that sounds more realistic lol:rotfl2: So overal not much to update. Just had to announce
20 more days!! (or sleeps/however you want to look at it)

I got Disney Mail yesterday:cool1: It was my DME tags!! They got the right address this time! It was nice to get something though. Nothing really new on the planning front. Tomorrow is my last day of full-time work. Although the lower paycheck will suck. But I'm really looking forward to some time off to get some things sorted, and to catch up on the lack of sleep. I must get going on the packing. I still have stuff all over the house, and laundry mountain is so winning right now. I need to get my act together or we're going with nothing;) Hopefully next week we will be much more organized.
16 more days!!

NO I'm having a really hard time having it sink in that we leave in just over two weeks. I still feel like it is forever away :lmao: But yep I'm with you I want to be packing. As soon as I get caught up I'll be packing. If it weren't for my brothers wedding out of town this weekend I'd be doing it this weekend. But I keep getting told that my brothers wedding needs to come first :rotfl2: doesn't he understand the timeline I'm working with here? :confused3 Oh well It will be worth it.

Hello!
Just found your PTR! Congrats on winning the trip. Your boys are just lovely and your dress was beautiful! Love the black on it. I can relate with the school work--I am working on my master's degree right now and I will be still working on it when we go to Disney.
I hope you have a wonderful time--just about a week and half left to go before you are on your way! :dance3:
I'll be watching for your TR and reading the rest of PTR. :surfweb:

Thanks for joining! Today is the day I can do the online check in. I have a few room requests I want to put down though. And I haven't felt to good today. So I'm going to wait a day or two to do the online check in. I want to be feeling a bit better so I can think straight when I do it.

Hmm... can you add room requests with online check-in? I thought you had to call on the phone before checking in to do that? We have some requests to add... I was holding off checking in online until I made my requests.

So I decided to give it a shot and do online check in this morning!! It's all set up now and good to go. It let me put in 'pack-and-play' for a room request. We also had the option of 'close to transportation' or 'ground level' but those two didn't matter to us. Actually the kids want to be 'high up' they say. I wasn't going to worry about any other room requests at this time. If we need anything we can always ask when we get there. So I guess the count down is really on. 9 more days according to me (10 more according to Disney but I like my number better !! LOL)

.... and we're still no where near ready to go :lmao: Packing still hasn't really started. I started folding laundry this weekend, and any disney outfits I came across went into a pile. But I still need to finish the laundry and then sort the outfits (majority the kids) and pack them plus the extras and oy not enough hours in a day. DH is supposed to be discussing packing lists with MIL tomorrow so once that's done I will put a lot of focus into get ourselves done. I have a chem exam Thursday night and I work a double on Friday and Saturdays a big day. We will make it though (Just maybe without cloths :rotfl:)
4 more days!!!

We leave late tomorrow night (or early the next morning - whichever you want to call it). We're out of the house at 1am. So just short of 26 hours from now we'll be on the road!! We are finally pretty much packed. We have a couple more things to pick up and pack away tomorrow. And things like toilitries that we need tomorrow will have to be packed still - but overall we're good to go! Tomorrow is a busy day. After a quick lunch we're heading into the city to do our last minute shopping. We'll spend a couple hours with my dad. Then we're going to my moms to celebrate the twins 3rd birthday. After all that commotion is over, we'll head home get the kids into bed, load the van and relax just a little before we get the kids into their car seats and hit the road!! I am hoping I get a bit of sleep before hitting the road, but honestly I doubt it. I'll try to post again tomorrow before we go - but if not I'll be starting a TR as soon as I get back.

We are all back and had a great time!! I am hoping to be starting a TR soon, just waiting to get my pictures and everything put together so that I can do it in order. Currently have everyone getting over the flu (not fun) so I hope it doesn't take too long to get everything started. I will make sure to post a link to this when I get it going.
