Thanksgiving waitlist

Anyone want to join me in hoping?

My first Thanksgiving at the world...we're waitlisted at BCV for a 2BR of any kind, but just for Thanksgiving and the day before.

I'm hoping once the 7 month window comes up here in a couple weeks that there will be some movement.

We are having are reservations at AKL for the days we want...The Wednesday before Thanksgiving through the Sunday after...We really want to stay at the VWL...We are hoping to get a 2-beroom when our 7 month date comes (which is April 24)...If not, we will go on the waitlist for VWL and keep our AKL...Wish us luck!

I'm hoping that there may be other people who are trying to switch resorts or try BLT or AKV this year and something will open up.

I have been thinking about going during Thanksgiving too. I had a thread going about Christmas, and everyone told me it`s very crowded then. Have you been at Thanksgiving? I hear the Christmas decorations are up by then. Is it as crowded?

I've never been at Thanksgiving. This would be our first time.

My understanding is that it gets crowded the closer you get to Thanksgiving Day and into that weekend. BUT that it's not like Christmas or Easter week crowds.

I'm missing Nov 25 and 26 on my reservation, so I'm going to start calling this week to see if I can pick up one or the other of those days if the waitlist doesn't pick them both up at once.

But, are you saying that you are already waitlisted at AKL for 2 bed? If so, we won't have a chance to move.........:sad1:

Oh heck no! Thanksgiving 2008 was awesome! Beginning of the week was reeaal nice. Close to TG it got more crowded but still managable. We already have our BLT ressies for TG week!

I wouldn't worry too much yet. There are 2BR units in both Kidani and Jambo. We don't know what that poster was on the WL for.

Regardless, I think we'll see some movement as people want to try new resorts, particularly AKV and BLT.

I agree with you, it starts crowding up on Wednesday. That's why we head in the Friday b4 and bug out on Black Friday.

Well, I'm hoping that the next few days might see a bit of movement as it will be 7 months out from Nov 25, the day before Thanksgiving. That means that people who want to stay that week or so can start switching around.

So we are waitlisted...

1) VWL 2-beds Tues-Sun
2) BLT 1-bed same

I have somewhere to sleep each day, but it means moving TWICE. Puke. Here's what my pieced-together-ressie looks like:

NOV 21 - 2 br lockoff at BCV
Nov 22 - 2br lockoff
Nov 23 - 2 br lockoff
Nov 24 - 2 br lockoff
Nov 25 - 2 br ded
Nov 26 - 2 br ded
Nov 27 - 2 br lockoff

UGH. If I only had to move once, that would be palatable, but still not preferable. Moving twice...I repeat...puke.

I call every day to see if I can get lockoff's in the middle or dedicateds for the rest of the time and so far, no luck. The ded is only available on Nov 21 and the lock off is only available 21, 22, 23

Well, a little success today. I got the dedicated with 2 queens on the last night. SO that means I'm only moving one time as of right now. Oddly enough, they had Nov 21 and Nov 27 and that was it. But I suppose that is the Friday and the Saturday night and the points that someone just didn't want to pay for.

So I'm in a lockoff Nov 21-25 and the dedicated Nov 25-28. Hopefully I can get fill in the rest of those days with the dedicated.
