I'm bringing my own Starbucks ground coffee, but I lost the scooper I used to bring. The studios don't provide them, correct? Do you bring your own?

I usually just use a plastic spoon.

I just judge it on how late I was out the night before...:rotfl2:
and compensate for it

We always buy the pre-measured packets of coffee and simply drop one in the coffee maker.

Premeasure at home. I pack those snack-sized ziplock bags with enough coffee for one pot and a filter each, and then put the whole thing in a bigger ziploc bag.

I do the same thing with laundry soap--I pack enough soap for one load with a dryer sheet in each snack-sized bag, then put a few in a bigger ziploc.

And I ALWAYS note clearly what's in those bags--I don't want the authorities thinking I'm packing a different white powdery substance :)

I pack a lot of coffee into a single large zip lock bag and filters in another. We bring our scoop from home.

I do this too. I use Ghiradelli Chocolate Raspberry coffee which I have to grind up. I grind up enough for one pot and put it in a snack bag and put them into a qt size zip lock baggy along with the filters.
Then when I am brewing the coffee, I save the snack size baggy for after the coffee is brewed and I put the used grounds into it so the wet grounds don't get all over everything.

We bought a Mickey coffee scoop at DD and it lives in my suitcase. We bring filters and coffee from home.

With the coffee scoop in our Owner's Locker right after it comes out of the coffee grinder in our Owner's Locker! :thumbsup2

We do this too. Disney used to sell pre-measured packets in the gift shops. We would buy them on the first day, and USE them instead of taking them home. But they stopped carrying them!!

Now I think we buy Maxwell House at home and bring them along. At least I think it's Maxwell House that we've found making the pre-measured packets.

Bring a plastic 1 Tablespoon measuring spoon, and use about 1 spoonful for each cup. Adjust to taste.

Measure? You're supposed to measure? DH says I make the worst coffee, maybe that's why. So that I can't screw up, we bring the filter-packs, that are pre-measured. If you forget, they're always prominently displayed in any grocery store on the way to WDW (ever notice how there's always a prominent display of those?) But I like the idea of buying a Mickey coffee-measuring scoop.

I have a bag of non expirables permanently packed for my trips home. It contains, among other things, the coffee measure and a cork screw.

Yep, we use it too. Except we put one packet per mug of coffee. We like it strong. Maxwell House isn't our favorite, but it works and is convenient.

I usually bring those pre-measured filter packs too but have been having trouble finding them lately. I'm already on the lookout for them for our trip in May...

Well, I didn't ask where to buy them, I already knew that. I asked whether the studios supplied them and whether folks bring their own. But thanks.

Hi guys, thanks for all your responses. As far as the pre packaged stuff goes, thats really too much for me. I only brew about 4 cups worth, not a whole pot. And Starbucks on vacation is the way to go for me, its a real treat.:thumbsup2 Anyway, nice discussion, thanks again!:)

We bring Tim Horton's coffee. I just noticed they actually make little filter packs now so we'll pick some up for our next trip. We absolutely packed our little coffee scoop last time but it disappeared somewhere in transit so we used a tablespoon (1 per cup) until we bought a new one.

Sorry, for the sarcastic reply - I just couldn't resist :). It just seemed like such a simple answer.

Normally you use 2 TableSpoons per "Cup" of water (which is 6oz not 8.)

Which means 10 "cups" is 1.25 cups of grounds. Disney stocks a 1/4 cup measure in the kitchen supplies. So 5x Quarter measure cup of grounds works.

The other hint is make a full pot of coffee. The machines are designed to operate optimally with a full load of grounds. A smaller amount makes bitter coffee.

Life is an Adventure ;), I just guess until it "looks right" and it usually turns out OK.

Ditto these for me! I always measure and bought a spare to leave in my OL.

I make OK coffee - my husband makes really good coffee - we eyeball it.

Then again, I eyeball everything when I cook (I do measure when I bake - baking is chemistry).

We use one heaping tablespoon per 6ox cup but to each his own. Oh, and we use bottled water. I just know that the Disney coffee doesn't do it for me. The stuff at the mug refill station has a funny aftertaste and the stuff in the room is too weak.
