Love the picture! Thanks for sharing :) You both look great, though Juliana wins hands down based on the cuteness factor alone! You're such a good sport for dressing up. I haven't even considered dressing up in YEARS!
I wish I had a Mad Hatter costume for home but I already bought this one for Disney. There was no way I would of made it walking in WDW wearing a jacket! LOL
figures.... hope you didn't have to explain that to too many people wondering. It's like when you have an infant, and you shop for 2 hours in the grocery store, only to find a big wad of spit up all over your shoulder after you get home. :lmao:
That's never fun!! LOLOL :lmao:
:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2: Thanks for sharing!
Are you laughing at me?????:confused3 I was laughing at myself! :rotfl2:
We will be thinking good thoughts for Juliana on Monday.
It looks like you had a great Halloween. We had a nice one here but it was very chilly. We only trick or treated up and down our street. We have been fighting off colds so we did not want to be out too long.
I think my DD2 had more fun running to the door every time the bell rang. I asked her to sit with me in the living room by the door when it was busy but she said nooo and dragged me to the back room and told us we had to sit. We did then she dragged us to the door and did it all over again. She kept yelling kids commin!!
My DH went to a party at the neighbors house while we stayed at home and relaxed. I think she made it 10 minutes into Toy Story 2 before she passed out on the sofa. She only naps in her bed so this was a bug suprise but I was tired from running back and forth to the door too.
We can not wait to see your next installment with your MNSSHP pics.
Good Luck tom.:wizard:
We went over our friends house and did Trick or Treating over there. It was warm here. in the 60's but it started raining about 7. It was good timing though... we were just finishing.
Will sure be praying this morning...!! Am anxious to hear how it all went...
Thanks!
Just thinking about you guys and praying for you guys!
Is the flu going around there?
I hope she feels better!!
The flu is every where around here. I hope we dodge a bullet.
I'm praying that it's just a cold. Will they still do the other tests even with her fever? I'm hoping for excellent results for your little princess princess:
Luckily they are able to do the other tests. We are hoping it is a cold as well.

I think you missed his earlier post with scan results:
"We got home and they already called with the results.
The good news (most important)- Her x-rays, & ultrasound show no signs of cancer. Her bloodwork came back very good, her ANC was 2500. All three of us had to wear masks and Juliana wasn't able to get the H1N1 vaccine. They tested her for the H1N1 flu and the first part of the test already came back negative.
Bad news- The second part of the test can take up to 3 days. So we have to wait to hear the results. Her chest x-ray was clouded, telling them she has some sort of respiratory infection. We are going to watch her closely and she is watching a movie right now. She still has a fever and will be taking a nap soon.
Hopefully it is just a cold- which I think it is.
Thank you all for the thoughts and prayers."

We are pretty sure she just has a cold. She is feeling better this morning. She still has a fever but much lower. She is acting like her normal crazy self. I bet Mel $10 that Juliana would be negative for H1N1. Hopefully I'll be collecting my $$ soon! LOL

We went to the zoo last weekend for Boo at the Zoo and we saw a hidden Mickey. Mel and I saw it and thought the same thing at the same time. It is some kind of fungi growing on a tree.

I need to get this PTR back on track. I need to come up with some direction. I guess I have to look at WDW as a 1st time guest. (Like our friends are going to be) They are at an advantage, they are going with people with some WDW knowledge. I'm not saying I know it all- I don't. But they will have an advantage that we didn't have on our first trip 2 years ago.
As I can tell from their input thus far, I'm not sure they are going to give me much input. I want them to have options. That is one reason why I have scheduled 2 open days in our schedule. Also I won't be offended if they want to go explore on their own. I hope they really enjoy themselves and are able to see WDW as Melody & I see it.
There are going to be a few days we leave early and get back late. The house we rented is 10 minutes (literally) from AK going the back road near AKL. I don't think we are going to leave the parks to take breaks or naps. Our friends kids aren't morning people. If we are walking into the parks by 10AM I would consider that good.
With all this being said, I need to come up with a few ideas that 1st timers NEED to see. In the upcoming days and weeks(i guess), I'll try to keep this PTR interesting for you... and me too. (LOLOL):rotfl:

OK, I just have to say, that was a really cool HM, even though it was so totally random! Neat! (Yeah, I'm a goob, I liike that word).
Hmmmm... first timers... that is sooo funny you'd bring that up. I was laying in bed last night thinking, well reminiscing about my first trip to the House of Mouse back in January, 2001, and there really are so few memories. I was actually going to do a long post of those memories and comment some on my failing long-term memory.
I think just to let them explore without showing them everything you know is in a lot of ways a good thing. The only time I wish I had had someone who knew something was when we went to AK. We were like lost, wandering puppies in there, with no clue. We finally gave up and left after about 4 hours, and went back to MK.
Arranging meals is great, but letting them discover and use this first trip just to get a general "feeling" of what each park is would be wise. Of course, i think if they know the say, top 3 highlights of each park, just to give them direction would be really helpful too.

The best is when Juliana finds cars with the Mickey Head antenna topper on them. She shouts it out!!
It is amazing how digital cameras and camcorders have changed our society. Everything is documented now. I look back to when I was a kid and there are about 300 pictures of my whole childhood. Now there are over 300 pic taken a month (probably more!). It is so different.
I hear what you are saying about AK. When you left, you were probably saying you didn't like that park. I really want them to be able to explore on their own. So separating for a little while wouldn't be so bad.
You know I had to book a few ADRs or we would be eating CS for every meal. I want them to be able to see the fun of a character meal with their kids. I know their kids will have a blast at them. 3 Highlights from each park is a good idea. Like hit TSM first at DHS would be a must..

For some reason my post, which I wrote yesterday, is not on here.:confused3
Juliana's test came back and she has the flu. They are not testing for a specific type here, but they are saying most likely it is H1N1. We started her on Tamiflu yesterday and she hasn't had a fever since Tuesday morning. She is back to her normal self and seems fine. Besides some chills on Monday night and a little cough, she hasn't had any major symptoms. We are keeping a close eye on her. Thank you all for thinking of her.princess:

Karma, eh? I dunno about that. Maybe Bella gave it to Juliana via a 'computer virus' :lmao: OK, I know . . . not really very funny.
Glad to hear you and DW are doing well. DH and I managed to avoid whatever was ailing our kiddos too. It makes me think it might have been swine flu since H1N1 seems to be hitting kids harder than adults.
Good news for us though, our city FINALLY got the injectible vaccine and there is a clinic for priority patients (of which Bella is one because of her heart surgery) on Saturday! We'll be the first in line.

I think she has kicked the Flu even before she started on the Tamiflu. The crazy thing is if she didn't have her doctors apt on Monday, I doubt she would of been tested for H1N1. Once good thing is now that she has been exposed she won't need to get the shot.
Hope Juliana is feeling better. Emily is sick too.

Glad (?), I don't know if that's the right word, that you know that it's the flu. Glad she seems to be on the mend. H1 can be bad. I felt the aftereffects for almost 1 month after I was "well".
Going with 1st timers is tricky. Good that you know your friends are late risers.

This flu was very mild for her. I think I'm glad her body is able to produce anti-bodies for it without having to receive the shot. She was away from kids for over a year... I know when she starts school (full day) she is going to be sick more than other 'regular' kids.

I'm so glad to hear this!! There's NOTHING worse than being all ready to go in the AM, and having them putting on make-up, or dawdling over breakfast, or watching TV, or.... arghhh!

That's why we were pretty specific in our "constitution" at the get-go!! You just can't be waiting on each other for every little thing with that many people; NO ONE would get anything they really wanted to do done.

I'll probably be up first so I'll have breakfast ready for everyone. All they have to do is get dressed, eat, then leave.... sounds too simple though.:sad2:
On our first trip we went with friends. Their kids stay up late and sleep in. Juliana is the opposite- she is sleeping by 8:30 (at home) and up around 7. We were always waiting for them to be ready. It got frustrating after a while. We still enjoyed ourselves though.

HA! But then after they eat and get dressed, they'll have to find their tickets, pack their bags, figure out the stroller, grab a last cup of coffee, go potty 400 times, gas up the car, blah, blah, blah... YOu're too nice, by day 2 I was done with waiting... they were left in the dust many times.

I don't remember if you remember but our friends that we are going with in March were home in CT last weekend because they had a wedding to goto on Halloween. Dave stopped over with the kids so we could see them in their costumes. It was a short visit, but the kids managed to ransack the house! LOL

After they left we went over to Mel's friends house for pizza and trick or treating. We were able to get all the kids to stop running and sit for about 30 seconds. It was an accomplishment!

I know I didn't tell you this....
On Thursday I'm flying out to see Dave in Indiana with 3 of my friends. We are going to the Colts Patriots game on Sunday night in Indy, then we are flying back on Monday (my birthday). I'm sure we will have a great time. So I will be off the boards for a few days. Don't think I went AWOL!

Awww . . . the costumes are so cute. I think you would have given the Yo Gabba Gabba kid a run for his money though!
We were just in Indy last week. Is the whole family going? Juliana would love the Children's Museum in Indianapolis. It's amazing! Have a great time, and enjoy the game. Who will you be :cheer2:ing for?

I know.. Maybe next year I'll be DJ Lance... that show will probably be irrelevant then. LOLOL
This is just a guys trip.:woohoo: So the family is staying here. We did go to the Children's Museum when we went out there in July. It is great. The kids had a blast! Did you get a chance to goto the Zoo? We had a great time there as well!
I will be rooting for the Colts. Here in CT there is always so much Patriots talk....I hate it! LOLOL I'm a Giants fan.

We spent 3-4 hours at the zoo and probably could of stayed longer! It is a really nice zoo.
The kids had a blast trick or treating. Juliana was always to first one to the door. LOL
We kept Juliana home from school today just to be safe. We probably could of sent her. She hasn't had a fever since Tuesday morning.

Oh goodness - she did/does have the flu! I'm so glad you guys were able to have her tested while you were there! My son's pediatrician said not to come in unless his fever was 105 or higher and I'm sure this is due to him not having underlying health issues, however I wanted to at least have a swab done to see if it was the flu. I knew they couldn't really do anything, I just wanted to know, ya know? He was born a month early, however luckily he is rarely sick. I'm so glad her little immune system is kicking in high gear for her! :) We haven't had any side affects from the H1N1 mist and he still has another does to go...Those fevers aren't fun!
Loved the Halloween pictures! That HM was so cool too! Great catch! I tell ya, it gets in your blood, doesn't it! People just don't understand....:rotfl2:

I'd take the flu she had any day. It lasted about 36 hours. Besides having the fever and some chills on Monday night that was the extent of it. I can't believe that your pedi said 105!!!! At 103 you really have to start watching them. I think there are many kids that have had this flu and nobody knew it. If we didn't have a doctors appointment we probably would of never known. I'm glad your son is doing fine!

The first thing the Bears need to do is FIRE the entire coaching staff. How can Lovie Smith NOT get in Harris' face after his stupidity? And the play calling is absolutely awful. We're paying our new quarterback an arm and a leg, and the way the Bears are playing, he won't have an arm or a leg!

Tim-
Just realized that we will be there at the same time as you in March. We're leaving Wisconsin on March 5th, driving down. Staying with MIL & FIL in Lakeland for most of it, but we are burning off some unused DVC points on March 7th at Animal Kingdom. We're still in preliminary planning so we don't know when we will be in the parks, but if it works out we should get together for a Dole Whip. Heck, after reading your current TR and skimming this thread I already feel like I'm part of the family!

Barry- I found my schedule. I think my park days are set in stone because they are set around my ADR, or are my ADRs set around my park days? :confused3 Well whatever I did, here is the schedule:
I've come up with a tentative schedule, by myself, for March. DW and our friends, who are actually here in CT right now, have given me no input. So I'll be the one up at 3am tonight making these ADRs. With my luck the website will crash and I won't be able to make 'em. So here is my idea:
Wednesday-Saturday 3/3-3/6- We will be in Bradenton, FL visiting with Melody's grandparents
Saturday 3/6- We leave Bradenton around 12 and drive to the house (about a 2 hour drive). Get situated, hit the grocery store, cook dinner, relax
Sunday 3/7- Have breakfast & dinner at the house Go to DHS
Monday 3/8- Breakfast at the house; MK for Wishes and hopefully Spectro
Tuesday 3/9- Breakfast at the house; AK; Try to get CM ADR for 5-7pm
Wednesday 3/10 DAY OFF; maybe goto Kona for breakfast if our friends want to go. DTD at night?
Thursday 3/11 Juliana's Birthday Breakfast at the house; MK; BBB for the kids; Try to get 1900 Park Fair ADR 4:30-6:30 Wishes hopefully
Friday 3/12 I have no plans for this day as of now
Saturday 3/13 Breakfast at the house maybe Dinner too. Epcot Try to get Akershus Lunch for 12-2
Sunday 3/14 Breakfast at the house; check out.. then ? not sure what is going to happen; Check into a Disney hotel Thinking a moderate.. with AP it is $89. I might try to get an ADR at 'Ohana for dinner.
Monday 3/15 One more park
Tuesday 3/16 Kona Breakfast maybe? Hang out at the hotel Swim get ready to go to MCO
Well there it is. I only have a few open days and I really don't like having to plan out our whole week for our friends, but you know the drill. I can't go down there with no plan and expect to get any ADR's. With only having 3 ADRs to book while our friends are there, I needed to put together some kind of plan. Let me know what you think. 3AM is going to come quick!
I just realized we will be in FL for 2 weeks!!!!!!!! LOL

Well, if the King of Disney (for that is what he has become) wants my advice and wants to try something new other than the CSR again, I would pick in this order: POFQ, POR and CBR last.
And I'm not liking his "hiding" out lately.
Now, when is your trip? I forgot (old age is catching up to me along with all that's been going on in our house).

I like the food court at POR better than the food court at CSR (although I prefer CSR's over POFQ and CBR); the pool is too small at POFQ and as two travelling adults--the theme of the rooms at CBR are a complete turn off to us. We like our queen beds at the CSR and I like having the spa there.
What clown thingy creeps you out?

Everything is OK. We had Thanksgiving at our house this year so I had to clean and get ready for Mel's family to come over. Plus a few days last week Juliana didn't take a nap... which is usually my DIS time. I've also been trying to get to bed at an earlier hour.. I've been feeling run down for a week and 1/2 or so. (Geez would you look at the time! LOLOL) Then I worked all weekend so I've been MIA.
I have some good news to share with all of you coming up soon. ;):goodvibes

If so, I'll be there as soon as I can (the more to read the better since I don't have a pre-trip report going since not sure if there will be a trip and I finished my September trip a LONG TIME AGO unlike other people...not mentioning any names or anything :rotfl:)

I think most of you know that Juliana has been through some struggles in her short life already. For those who don't know, Juliana was diagnosed with cancer. At her 1 year well check up, her pediatrician felt what she thought was an enlarged spleen. Juliana was sick the week before (one of only 2 times she was sick in her first year) so our pedi thought it could of been from that. We went back to the doctor two weeks later and it was still there. From the pediatrician office they sent us to get an ultasound and bloodwork. They did the ultasound and didn't even get to the bloodwork. They sent us back to the pediatricians office. We immediately knew something was wrong.
When we arrived back at the pediatricians they had someone waiting at the door for us and immediately brought us into her office. She gave us directions to CCMC (Connecticut Children's Medical Center) and said that they were expecting us. Needless to say we were freaking out. We arrived at CCMC around 2pm and it was too late to do a CAT scan so we went home. We had an appointment the next morning for her CAT scan.
We were supposed to make her drink 100cc of the dye so they can get a good view on what was going on inside her. Juliana didn't drink anything but water and milk- so we forced as much of the fluid in as we could. When we got to the hospital she was supposed to drink another 100cc of the fluid. This was the first time meeting Juliana's nurse Barbara. We needed to get the fluid into her, so I was holding Juliana and Barbara was using a syringe to get it into Ana's mouth. Juliana was screaming and fighting us for over an hour. (Barbara remembers this to this day.. and we think she is still traumatized by it).
She had her CAT scan and after we were sitting in a room in the oncologists office. Our family was in the waiting room- it was just Juliana, Melody, and I in the room. 2 doctors and Barbara came in and told us that Juliana had what they thought was a Wilms Tumor- a malignant cancer. The feeling that I had at that moment I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy. How can a kid who was hardly ever sick go from being healthy one day to having cancer the next?
I have more details that I will talk about at a later date but Juliana ended up with a nephrectomy- the removal of her kidney and about 6 months of chemotherapy. She is doing very well now and we thank God every day that we have her.
Our nurse has been asking us when we were going to apply to Make-A-Wish for Juliana. Melody finally did a few weeks ago and Juliana was approved for a wish! We are really excited for her! We received a letter saying that Juliana was being assigned wish granters and they will be contacting us in the next few weeks to set up an appointment to see what Juliana's wish will be. We are hoping she wishes to goto Disney! We would be able to stay at Give Kids the World Village and I think it would be the best trip ever.
So that is the news for now. (There is no baby news... sorry to disappoint :sad2: LOLOL)

I think this might be even better than baby news!!! Baby news comes when God says so, and although God certainly plays a part in Wish Trips, I think they more fall into people being generous and kind category! I will be waiting on pins and needles to hear what kind of wish Ana chooses!! Of course, WDW would be really cool, but wow, they sky is the limit. Very cool!
Tim, a technical ?? How long does Ana have to be in remission before they call it cured? And what are the chances of her other kidney being affected or what if it also goes bad for some other reason?? Would she be able to have a transplant at some point??

Technically she is considered cured 5 years off of treatment. We constantly have to push her to drink so she stays hydrated. When she gets older we have to limit some of her activities like no skydiving, base jumping, tackle football, etc. Since she only has one kidney she has to be very careful. People can live full lives with only one kidney. When she grows up she might want to talk to a nutritionist to give her ideas how to eat healthy.
:woohoo::woohoo:Congrats!!!!!:woohoo::woohoo:

Not the best for a 3 year old, but for a 32 year old it is perfect! :thumbsup2
We actually eat pretty good, but if she turns into an alcoholic later on in life she will have some serious issues. I'm sure she will have to be careful taking certain medications and stuff like that. Making sure she stays hydrated is the most important part. For her 3 months oncologist appointments they always test her kidney function.
Now go to bed it must be after 1AM there!!!!!!

When we first asked her what she would like she said to see her friend Victoria who lives in Indiana. We are going to Disney with them in March.
I wonder what she is going to say to the wish granters. LOLOL:)

Aw..thanks for sharing the whole story about Ana. I didn't really know it all. I know my story is completely different, but I can relate to the doctor/hospital visits..surgeries..all that. I remember going in for one of my surgeries when I was about 4 or 5..they had to literally hold me down when they were trying to put me to sleep..I just kept kicking and screaming..for some reason I got really scared that time. :confused3
I'm so glad Ana's getting a wish. Make some hints to her to pick WDW!

There is more that I will share at a later date... maybe if she asks to a WDW wish then I can start a Wish Trip Report.
I can totally understand how you were scared at 4 years old. Sometimes the unknown is scarier than the actual procedure. It was hard with Juliana being 1... but easier at the same time. One of the hardest parts was she wasn't totally able to communicate how she was feeling... and that was hard on Melody and I.princess:

Of course you'd have to do a TR Tim! You think I'd let you get away with going and not doing one?! HA. :flower3:
I totally understand. Before the little guy could talk, I hated not knowing what was making him cry after trying everything and anything to make him stop.

I was just stopping in to let you all know that we are headed to NYC tomorrow to see the Princess & the Frog premiere!!! There is also a meet & greet after the show with the princesses and a bunch of other cool stuff. We were going to take the train into the city but decided on just driving in. We are seeing the 1pm show! I'm sure I'll have a ton of pictures to share with you. This will be Juliana's first time in NYC.
Side note:: Did anyone notice the princess smilie is not on the regular list anymore??? Now you have to click on 'more' to find it. :confused3:confused3
Sorry about that.. it was just an observation. LOL

If you are ever in the area, I'll give you a NYC tour.:) It is just very expensive. If you make 100K you are just making ends meat.. probably living in a shoebox of an apartment.
I'm glad I don't live there, I just like visiting! :)

Mark always said it was very expensive. He also said it was Chicago all over again--just bigger and dirtier. ;) Oldest son, Andy, loved it when he went to Yankee Stadium in 2008.

How in the heck did I miss this!?!!? Congratulations to Juliana on having her Wish Granted. Tim, it's time to start brainwashing that kid - you don't want to end up with a pony or an elephant! :rotfl2: Just kidding! I'm sure whatever Juliana wishes for will be PERFECT! And if she does happen to Wish for Disney, I may just have a few tips for you after our trip in just 2 days (well, one actually since it's now Dec 1st!)

When AJ and Kennedy found out Bella was getting a wish, they spent the next month trying to convince her to wish for this and that. Some of the best suggestions were actually a trip to China, an elephant (why do we need an elephant?) and a horse. Here are the pictures from our day yesterday in NYC. It was both Melody's and my mom, Mel, Juliana, and me. We left about 8:30 and were parked in a garage on 48th St. at 10:15.. Not too bad. We didn't have that much time to sight see because the show was starting at 1 and on the paperwork they suggest arriving at the theatre an hour before. First on our agenda- to see the tree in Rockefeller Center.

In the Roseland Ballroom there were a few different areas set up. They had an area with games, an arts & craft area, learn how to draw with a Disney Animator area, a play area, and the princess area. They also had some Disney memorabilia from shows and movies. We were one of the first people to arrive at the ballroom. We walked over to Tiana to meet her for the first time.

After a while the lines to se the princesses were short 1-2 kids or non-existent. While Juliana was making a crown at the craft area, Mel's mom and I went to get a picture with Cinderella.

After Toys R Us we headed over to dinner in Times Square. We ate at a family style restaurant called Carmine's. We ordered salad, penne alla vodka, and chicken marsala. We have eaten here a few times and the food is always excellent. Sorry no pictures of dinner. LOL
After dinner, we headed over to the M&M store. I didn't know there was such a market for M&M's but you can buy candy, clothes, electronics, kitchen ware, and more here. Juliana wanted to make her own bag of M&M's so we let her do her thing.

I give these girls a lot of credit for what they have to wear and what they have to do. Each one talked to Juliana like she was the most important person in the world. They were so sweet with her. Jasmine could of had a little more to her but she was really pretty.

Hey Tim,
Sorry I have been MIA lately.
I'm so happy Juliana got her wish. She really deserves it after all she's been through. You and Mel deserve it too. I can't wait to hear what she chooses.
For the mods I've stayed at POFQ and CSR. I really want to tackle CBR next because of the room themes and the resort looks beautiful. CSR has been having a lot of issues with bed bugs lately.
Looks like a great day in NYC. I'm glad you all enjoyed the movie. We have our vouchers from Disney to go see it. I can't wait.:cool1:
I grew up in NJ and NY and every year I used to always go see the tree. I love the WOD store. I heard it was closing. Did you hear anything?
Looks like Juliana had a lot of fun with the princesses. We always love the toys are us store. I love Carmine's. We ate there last summer. They have the best meatballs.

Hey Kathy!
I hope you finally got some well deserved rest this weekend!
I've read about people getting rashes on their legs but I thought it was more of a heat rash from walking in the parks. I'll keep my eyes open on the resorts board. We still haven't decided on where we are going to stay for our last 2 days. I think it is either going to be CSR (because we loved it there) or CBR (to try something new).

Yes, I know my friend Tracy was there in May and she broke out in a rash on her legs and feet--but it was not bed bugs (it was from something in the bushes or on the sand). We've never done CBR and it is our least favorite of the moderates theme wise, but our oldest son was there in July and he said it was nice (but he missed CSR); Juliana will probably like the Nemo room (unless you pay extra for a pirate room) and the new pool.
Yes, we both got some sleep this weekend. Mark still has no relief, but they said 3-5 days and he worked all weekend and was on his feet and working with customers so probably a lot of head turning which is not good for him.

We had such a nice time in NY. Juliana now calls it the big city. LOL
I definitely look like my mom. I really don't see much of my dad in myself.
The movie was good. I think a boy would like it too. There were a few parts that are more geared towards girls- like playing dress up.

DO you remember a few short months ago when I stayed up all night trying to get my ADRs with the rest of the world? Well, I was on the WDW site last night and there are still many restaurants with open dates like 'Ohana on Sunday 3/14 at 6pm! It makes we wonder.. was it worth it?
I emailed our friends the MouseSavers link to Undercover Tourist for their tickets. I'm trying to figure out if I have enough days for Juliana and Mel. I have a couple 1 day adult passes. Can Juliana use an adult pass if I need it? I don't see why not.:confused3
We are still deciding on where to spend our first few days of the trip and the last two days. I think we might try to stay with Melody's grandparents. They only have a two bedroom so I'm not sure how it will work. I think we are leaning toward Caribbean Beach Resort for the final two days. We would like to try a new resort, and as much as I would like to stay at the Poly, I really can't justify the cost. I think we will be spending enough money being in Florida for 13 days! Some day I'll be swimming in that Poly pool and drinking frosty beverage while watching Wishes from my balcony. pixiedust:pixiedust:

When I totally forgot to take care of my ADR's that day and was able to get an 8:00 reservation at Cinderella's Royal Table ... I was suspicious!
But, I do think for those really hard to get restaurants, that it is very wise to go ahead and get them...as early as you can...but the rest seem like they can wait.
Especially now that we are 180 days out...Most people, even a few good DISers, are not really planning THAT far out. :confused3 Some won't even decide to go on a trip until closer to 6 months out.
Then I find myself trying to tweak my reservations now that I have a better idea of where we will be on certain days...and it is too late to get ressies now.
So...I totally agree!
Bummer on not staying at the Poly! Wish you had a great AP discount to make it worth it! :upsidedow

Tim, the whole ADR thing always boggles my brain. We've done the 180 days out, the 90 days out and for our mini trip in September we were able to get ressies at popular places -- LeCellier and Crystal Palace (at 8:05 a.m.) one month before the trip.
We've never done the CBR (it is the last moderate we would choose--the theme just doesn't appeal to us and we didn't like the food court the two times we tried it), but our oldest son (age 23) was there in July for a week and he enjoyed his stay--clean rooms, reliable buses, typical food court, etc. The only thing he didn't care for was the pool. Let me explain: he was with the baseball team of 13-year olds he coaches and their families; the little kids loved the pool, the older kids thought it was kind of "babyish" for them and way too crowded. They rectified that by going to the water park or using the quiet pools. Juliana will probably love the pool at CBR.

I think when they are offering the FD is when it is the hardest to get those ADRs. Obviously the one's like CRT are always going to be tough though. I think it was worth it because I did get every ADR I wanted within 30 minutes of my desired time.

Have you done all of the "hints" for getting a PIN code? Playing with the reservation system? Saving a bunch of vacations in different resorts for different dates? That has been triggering PIN's for lots of people on the Codes and Rates board.
They have lots of other suggestions, too...but I am almost positive that is what triggered the PIN I got that covered me for 2010.

Congrats Kathy!!!! 15K is pretty good! I wonder who has the most posts? :confused3
Thanks...I guess. I really do need to get a grip on this though; my kids think I'm crazy.
LOL You need to get paid just for running that CSR thread. How does 1 free week a year at CSR sound? (now we need someone to sponsor you!!! LOL)
Yeah, like that is going to happen. :sad2:
that's nice

we have booked our trip the past 3 years in very late Jan- or mid Feb for the first or second week of March. and I haven't had too much trouble getting the ADR's we wanted. Now I'm sure some are booked up, but I haven't had much trouble and I did get CRT last minute last trip too. I would like to try Ohana next trip, but if we can't, I'll live with it.
2 years ago we stayed offsite. I didn't know about people booking ADRs months in advance. We called while we were in Florida and got CM's dinner and another one..... can't remember now. :sad2: Last year, I booked and got everything I wanted... I think. LOL I think the FD is the crazy time to try to make ADRs.

I haven't done that. I will do it today and then cross my fingers. Thanks for reminding me about it! :thumbsup2

AWWWWW Kathy! If I ever hit powerball I'd have a huge WDW party for all my friends home and on the DIS! Now I need to get to buying some powerball tickets. LOL :wizard:

We are still deciding on where to spend our first few days of the trip and the last two days.

That's weird about the ADRs. I think it will be worth your hard efforts.
For my trip I kept trying to get an ADR for thanksgiving lunch at T-rex; no luck! When we were at DTD I went and 85% of the place was empty. So we walked right up.
You'll love CBR . It is on my list. I might just have to cross that one off my list next trip.
I don't see why you wouldn't be able to use the adult pass for Juliana. It's not like an adult using a kid ticket. Adult tickets cost more, so why would they mind?

ADRs are such a spin of the roulette wheel. The ADR for Chef Mickeys was actually hard to get at the time we wanted--180 days out.
I never, I repeat never want to do what I did on ADR D-Day.....
that's nice

LOL I guess I could rent a van to sleep in. :scratchin:scratchin
But then it will be a van down by the canal. :confused3

I wonder why there were no ADRs available? I guess they hold seats for walk ups in DTD?
I'm thinking I'll be able to use an adult ticket for Juliana. I should ask Cheshire Figment. He will know. :surfweb:

I don't want to repeat that either. But I guess I would if I had to. :scared1: Hopefully they will just keep it at 180 days for a while. LOL :rotfl:

I missed what you are talking about using adult tickets, but if you are trying to use an adult ticket to get itn the park, Chesire told me no. I have 3 adult passes from years agoa and I asked about it and she said kids are not allowed in on them, now you might get CM who doesn;t pay attention, but you are taking a chance

Thanks for letting me know! I have to figure out now many days I have on Juliana's ticket... I think she has 8 days... that should be enough. If I needed one more then I could have an issue. :confused3

That seems insane that you can't use an adult ticket for a child!! What a crock!
Same with adult dining credits...
