Cool tip about the golf ball. I have my sharpie in my computer case so I will have one with me.

Do you know if Thumper is going to be bumping anyone out of their usual spot or are they just going to be roaming around?

I think we might do that too! I just haven't planned out any time to golf for the Nov. trip yet:)
Thumper isn't getting rid of anyone. That wouldn't be a very disney thing for him to do! I always used to see them before you went inside AK. They used to have so many characters in the front. Also at Epcot they had a double decker bus full of characters and then it stopped and everyone came down for greetings. Good old days:thumbsup2

I'm going to make one last ditch effort to get my airfare with Jetblue without having to pay $285 to change it. If that is unsuccessful, we are just going to leave Saturday as planned. I contacted our TA and she found a preferred room available at POP for Friday night for us for $120. If I just had to pay for the room and a minimal charge from Jetblue we'd be out of here early.

There are last minutes deals to be had on Alamo.com. I can get a full size for $200 now. I still think I can spend a little less. I'm gonna be working on that next. I'm still willing to book it through Priceline.

I still need my costume. I thought there would be some Halloween stores going up around here, but I haven't seen them yet. I might have to order something today so I can have it in time.

Today is my 5 year anniversary. I can't believe it's been 5 years already. We are going to the Big E.... it's a huge fair in Massachusetts. We decided not to get each other anniversary gifts. I still got Mel flowers- I had to do that at least. Maybe I'll find her something at the fair today, or I might be able to find her something at WDW.:confused3:LOLOLOL

oh the picture OP - we have DD sit by Walt in the entrance to MainStreet - there is a bench with Walt and Minnie - DD has sat there

one friend used to do the bench with Goofy - but he left for over a year for refurb!!

I hope this doesn't come across as rude, it's not my intention, but you know, with text and no tone of voice...but it's actually Roy and Minnie, not Walt :teacher: Learn something new everyday! There's a little inscription near it and it has the beginning (I think the beginning) of the speech he gave when they first opened the Magic Kingdom.

I forget if I mentioned this before, but my Mom and I always take a picture on Adventureland bridge. When she first went with my Nana back when she was 16 they took a picture there, so every time we go (well, now that we've gone multiple times/year, it's at least once/year), we get a picture there. And we get a picture of my brother in front of the Partners Statue at the Hub.

Congrats on 5 years!

On the Rental Car issue, have you tried using the codes from Mousesavers?

that's nice

Thanks!!!!!

Since we are so close, the IG rate at Alamo is the cheapest. It comes to $145 plus taxes brings it to $199.99 I can get through on Priceline bidding $18 a day
= $108 plus taxes brings it to $166. I can wait a little longer but I think I will be happy paying $166. I was trying to get it to $150 but I'm not one to let $20 kill my deal!:thumbsup2 I can also try bidding $16 on priceline but I don't think they will accept it.:sad2:

PS: How was the show last night? I should go ask this on your TR though huh?

Haha, I'll get to posting it over there eventually. I really enjoyed it. It was my boyfriend's first time seeing a Cirque show, so he was really excited about it. Totally worth it. We got the cheap seats, so we were pretty far up, but we were in the center of the arena. He was a little bummed when we got to our seats, but I kept telling him that it would be better to be in the center and up rather than off to the side. Sure enough, I was right! (Not that he'd admit it! ) A lot of similarities to La Nouba, but things that were different too. They had these guys on balance beams that were being held by other people...awesome. Alegria was much more of a Circus show where as La Nouba is a little more fluid. Alegria I think was a little slower, more paced, not as frantic as La Nouba. It was neat to see a different show, I really enjoyed it!

...think I might just copy and paste this over to my PTR...haha

Check out Walmart for costumes. I was in there the other day and they ahd an aisle of $20 costumes, even for adults. I was surprised. I'm sure you may need extra assessories though, but they aren;t bad in price. Last year I got my pirate hat there and made a costume out of stuff I had at home.

I pulled the trigger today and purchased my pirate costume online. It is a Pirates of the Caribbean Jack Sparrow knock off. I should have it by Tuesday so I hope it works for me.

Still working on the plane tickets. Looking more like we are still leaving on Saturday.:sad2:

My TA sent me a email saying that there is going to be another 4/3 deal again this winter. If we weren't going with friends, I'd be jumping on that again.:goodvibes

Online check-in was easy... even better it worked on my MAC!!!! I just had to fill out all our info... Address, phone numbers, estimated time of check-in, stuff like that.

In March we did online check-in for CSR. When we arrived we walked up, told them our name, and they had all our info already for us in a packet. It was really quick. Hopefully it will be the same on Saturday.:)

I pulled the trigger on the rental car last night. I ended up getting it for $175. I thought I could do better but I was getting scared with what I started seeing on the Alamo site. I booked it through Priceline and got it for $19 a day + taxes=$175. Not bad. If I booked directly through Alamo I could of gotten it for $199, so I saved another $24. Plus the car is from Alamo(when doing name your best deal on priceline, you don't know what company it is going to be from)

Checked the shipping info on my costume and it is 'Out for delivery'!!!! I will have it in hand today! Juliana and I are going to go to the dollar store and see what type of fun stuff we can find to bring with us! Hopefully they have some Disney Halloween items I can buy.:goodvibes I'll let you know if I find anything.

True... nothing like a vacation to ruin a great diet!!! I'm down to around 203. It fluctuates around 201-205. I'm trying to get (& stay) under 200. Mel says she can really see it in my face. My double chin has disappeared(according to herLOLOL)

I few summers ago, at my highest, I was 237lbs. I can't say I've been on a diet for that long, but since June I have tried to cut portions, stop eating junk, and just be a little more mindful what I'm eating. From June till now, I've lost about 10-12lbs. Now if I can just get rid of my pot belly. LOL:rotfl2: (although now my jeans are falling off my waist)

we did a dollar tree run this weekend. there wasn't much disney halloween- i think i only found a disney halloween coloring book- but, we loaded up on glowsticks and glowwands of all kinds.
i also found a bunch of interchangable princess jewelry- there was a wand, bracelet, necklace, and rings- each had 3-5 pieces with princess heads that you can change out.
also saw the usual disney crayons and puzzles.

I just saw this link on MSN. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/33070308/ns/travel-family

NEW YORK - Disney is offering a free day's admission to 1 million guests who complete a day of volunteer work next year.

The "Give a Day, Get a Disney Day" program will provide certified volunteers with a one-day ticket to any park at Disneyland in Anaheim, Calif., or Walt Disney World near Orlando, Fla., in 2010.

Would-be volunteers must register online with Disney and must be residents of the U.S., Canada or Puerto Rico to be eligible for the free admission.

Disney is partnering with HandsOn Network, a clearinghouse for volunteer opportunities, to connect people with projects and to certify that the work was done.

"We are trying to inspire 1 million people to volunteer in their communities and we're inspiring them to do that by giving them a free day at a Disney park," Jay Rasulo, chairman of Walt Disney Parks and Resorts, said in a phone interview with The Associated Press.

Rasulo called the promotion "very timely," citing the increased needs of nonprofits in the weak economy, as well as President Barack Obama's national volunteering initiative.

Duncan Dickson, who teaches theme park management at the University of Central Florida's Rosen School of Hospitality Management in Orlando, said the volunteer initiative is "a smart marketing move."

Dickson said Disney will get good buzz for encouraging volunteerism plus free publicity from the nonprofits that benefit. And even when theme parks let people in for free, they make their money back in other ways, Dickson said.

"You make a lot of money in popcorn and T-shirts and other things," Dickson said.

1. Congrats on getting (almost) down to under 200! That's a healthy goal. Now go forth and eat funnel cakes at Disney. Then come back and return with a "No Cokes, No Donuts" attitude. You can also hang out with Sandy and gang until January, and be guilted into following their lofty examples.

2. You got your costume! OK, I simply cannot wait to see pictures! I'm sure you'll look dashing!! Especially sans ddoouubbllee chin.

3. Hmmmm... a pre-approved org. I'm not sure I like that approach. It will be very interesting indeed to see which ones will be on their list. I'll reserve further comment until then. :rolleyes1

2. The double chin is DW assessment.LOLOL I tried on the costume yesterday and Juliana started laughing at me. Yup, my 3yr old daughter is laughing at me. I thought I'd have a few more years before this would happen. I took a picture with my cell and sent it to Melody while she was at work. She said she showed everyone she worked with..... OH GREAT!

3. Here is the site http://disney.prizelogic.com/ it is actually muppets themed. (I like it!!!) It is still under construction.

4. LOLLOLOL Nore will I ever know! Sometimes I thank God that I'm not a woman (no offense to all my readers!)

I missed this part last night... I'm going to be wearing eyeliner. I'm going to let DW put it on me though. I'd probably poke myself in the eye or something! :rotfl:

Did you ever read Mrs. The King's reports?? OMG! They are so funny!! This totally reminds me of her chapter called "something, something, and Jellybags"! Yeah, she called her daughter's eyes "jellybags". :lmao:1. I like this #'s thing! LOL I need to live it up in Disney. I just really don't need dessert with all those meals. Who eats dessert after lunch? :confused3

:confused3 Seems like overkill to me. I vote for a funnel cake at 3:00! Dessert, but late.
OH GREAT!

I'm sure they had a ball.
Wait til they are 15! Unbelievable!
3. Here is the site http://disney.prizelogic.com/ it is actually muppets themed. (I like it!!!) It is still under construction.

I'll check it out!
4. LOLLOLOL Nore will I ever know! Sometimes I thank God that I'm not a woman (no offense to all my readers!)

Do. But then again, it works both ways pal.
Are there any other guys out there reading this???? ScottNY used to visit but I haven't seen him in a while. Are there any others that I'm not aware of???:confused3

Are there any food picture takers who aren't DISers? I find it a little weird but fun at the same time!

Weird, but fun- like you say. I felt like I had to get pre-approval from LeeAnn to do this for our trip. Otherwise??
I'll save the Mickey bar for DD. That thing has 75% of your daily fat intake. I'd feel guilty eating it.:sad2:

:lmao::scared1: Holy Cow!!! WE ARE GETTING REALLY EXCITED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:woohoo: :yay: :woohoo: :yay: :woohoo:

EDIT:::: I just found this--> "Main Street Bakery closed- 9/28/09 - 10/6/2009 Casey's Corner and Plaza Ice Cream Parlor will be serving a continental breakfast while the bakery is closed." Maybe we can get a cinnamon roll after all?

Funnel cakes are better.

OK FINE _ Mickey bars are out... (I imagine that would include any Dove Bars I may run into here at home... :rolleyes1)

What's the fat content of Funnel Cakes? Spoil it for me, go ahead...

Funnel cake (1): 760 calories/44 g fat
Giant turkey leg: 1,136 calories/54 g fat
Dole Whip (google was less than helpful, maybe 80 calories and 5 Fat calories)

(and I'm looking for nutritional information on that cinnamon BUN mister!) :)

Google found one cinnabun at 730 calories and 216 FAT GRAMS - and I think its SMALLER than wdw's version!!

Also - keep in mind if I can train for a Half in Chicago's Winter - then by golly you can get out there in Conn!!

I got on last night cause I couldn't sleep and read everything I missed, but looking back I can't find my post, so in my restless night I must've been either dreaming or had forgot to push the send putton....

I can't believe all the fun I have missed leading up to these 3 :yay::woohoo: days before you depart to the Happiest Place on Earth :banana::banana:

You better take lots of pictures of you all in costumes. It is amazing how the DIS talks us into things... Jack Sparrow... hehe

Anyhow, I can't wait to see how your trip plays out, and will be anxiously awaiting your TR.... you are writing one, right?:rolleyes1 no pressure

I have to remember to take a picture of the nutritional info on a Mickey bar. You all will like it.. or not! LOL

I know Chicago is the windy city... our winter weather is just as bad. We get a little lake effect snow here. No where as much as you though. We probably get more total snow than Chicago though. I'd have to look it up.

:rotfl2: Probably a good idea to let your DW do the eyeliner for you. :thumbsup2

I've been checking Orlando's weather ever day for the last week. It keeps getting worse. It went from being sunny everyday, to having isolated thunder storms a few days, to now having isolated and scattered thunder storms everyday.:sad2: Day time highs around 88- lows around 72.

We went to 4 stores today to pick up last minute items and to find some decorations. We couldn't find any Disney window clings but we have found a few things to put in our window. I also bought 4 ponchos for $1 each (looks like we might need them) We also found some glow in the dark princess wands. Juliana will love these. I bought some boot covers to finish my costume. I was thinking about buying the Jack Sparrow goatee with beads. I think it will look cheesy. Here is a pic of it.---> http://www.buypiratecostumes.com/accessories_jack_sparrow_goatee_mustache.html I think I'll be better off using the makeup and leaving off the goatee.

I rented Pirates of the Caribbean tonight. DW started watching it with me.. that lasted about 10 minutes. Her friend called and I watched the rest by myself. I was going to call it an adult Disney movie night.... maybe it was Tim's movie night. LOLOL

DW has most of her packing done. Juliana is done and I haven't started. I have to get this done tomorrow. I just picked up a job tomorrow night so I need to get it done during the day. I guess that's it for now.:3dglasses

I forgot to add.... my mom came over for dinner and brought Juliana a present for Disney. She bought her a Fisher Price Camera. http://www.fisher-price.com/fp.aspx?st=2620&e=cameralanding It is a 1.3MP camera. Ana was running around snapping pictures for over an hour. Then the battery's died! I DLed her pics to my computer and they didn't look all that bad. She will be so excited when she is snapping her own pics in WDW!!!

Get the gotee! It's funny!

The calories in the funnel cake are about 1/2 of what I eat ALL DAY LONG!! :lmao:

I'm sure my poor DH feels the same way almost EVERY movie night. I usually jump on here instead. :thumbsup2

I think with that kind of crappy forecast, I'd get a few more ponchos. :confused3. Do you have a mostly indoor version of an itinerary?

You think the goatee looks good? I thought it looked bad. HUMMM maybe I can get it and just use the chin part and just use what I have for the mustache.:confused3 You say it's funny... in a good (like Captn' Jack way) or a bad (I would love to see Tim wearing that so we can laugh at him) way?????:lmao:

I wouldn't eat the whole funnel cake to myself.. probably split it between the 3 of us. Juliana would probably say she doesn't like it!

Indoor version? What's that?

I'm going to DL her pics along with mine to the computer every night. That way if either camera was lost we would have the pics.

Now the Yanks are up 2-0 :woohoo::woohoo: I'll take a NY Philly WS!

Welcome home!! :cheer2: It's good to know you all arrived safely and thanks for the teaser pic of Juliana - so beautiful! :lovestruc

The heat definitely affected us in slight ways. For example, I only took about 600 pictures on this trip compared to 900 in November! I can't wait to hear what you had to say about it as well and your experiences.....

Rest up - we'll be waiting patiently. I'm still uploading all my pictures and I'm writing a trip journal that way if/when I do a TR I can just copy/paste and insert pictures!

Let me know when you do start that TR. I'll be following along!

Hey everyone!!!
We are home:sad2:... safe:woohoo:
It feels great to be here in 50 degree weather. We sweated our way through 5 days at WDW. It is just about 1am here but I just wanted to let you know that we had a great time and I can't wait to tell you about it. Although we didn't receive much pixie dust, it didn't matter. But we tried to spread some. I have a busy weekend with work so hopefully on Monday I'll start my TR. I have some catching up to do. I haven't watched any sports or news since last Friday so I have no clue what is going on in the world...... although I do know the Yankees won yesterday!!! LOLOL:rotfl::goodvibes

Can I come with you? When we landed at home on September 29 -- it was 49 degrees (when we left Orlando it was 93 degrees). It has not been above 50 since we got back, and down in the low 30's every night. Nothing but rain and more rain and that "S" word is in the forecast for tonight and tomorrow.

OK my trusty followers. I've been ignoring this PTR since I started my TR.. there has been a minor development. Last night I was looking at airfare for our March trip. We are going to leave on Wednesday March 3. We are flying to Tampa to see Melody's grandparents for a few days, then driving up to Orlando to check into the house on Saturday 3/6. We have the house for 8 nights ending on Sunday 3/14. The flights home on Sunday are $240-$300. On Monday, the price is $125. Well folks, I think we are going to add another day to our trip and come home Monday 3/15! I think I am going to get a room only ressie for Sunday night! That will give us another full day in the park!!!

I am really excited about this!!! Now can I push coming home till Tuesday? LOLOL:rotfl: I wonder if it is worth staying one night at a deluxe? If we are spending all day in a park then on a Monday flight at 12 it probably isn't worth it. But maybe if on Sunday we didn't go to a park and just hung out at the hotel it might be worth it. What do you all think?

WOW! That's quite some kick butt development!! Awesome!

Yeah, like you say, if you're hanging out at the resort all day, then go with the deluxe, just to do the pool and grounds. If not, try to get POP, or try a different value, or even off-site.

You both DO have the time off work for this, right?? ;)

Hey, if you want dangerous - go submit a request on the rent/trade board for the one night at BLT!! At least price it out!! and then compare it to one night at the Polynesian (unless you are more of a Grand Floridian type person!!)

The pros for BLT - walk to Magic Kingdom - the view, they pipe the music thru the tv! (for wishes) the Cons - well the room's bathroom is weird... the bathroom sink is the kitchenette sink, and the door doesnt lock :confused3 - we stay studios for the 3 of us - but the 1 bedroom has the WOW factor!!

If you don't think you'll ever do a deluxe for numerous nights, then I would do it for one night. If you want to go to the parks, then I would do the Poly or CR (I don't care for the GF--too "stuffy" for us); if you just want to hang at the resort, then I would do AKL and Juliana could see all of the animals, etc.

We're having a dilemna right now. Assuming we go next year, we are going to Disney for five days and then Marco Island again. I've always wanted to stay at AKL (we've done the Cont. and Poly and the Beach Club is the only other one besides AKL we want to try); I can get the AKL for $440 more than the CSR for five nights. Then someone here on the DIS suggested we do AKL for three nights, then go to Marco Island, and then go back to Disney and stay at the CSR for three or four nights. :scared1: I don't know what to do now.

Sandy... I've visited the rent/trade board a few times but just to see what it was. I don't know all the ins and outs. I think we are more of a Poly type than GF. The CR looks nice but it looks like any other hotel. I've never been in or even seen a BLT room. Maybe I should research it.

I posted in your poll. Hopefully you will get some help! I think with an AP you can get AKL or WL for $150 a night. Moderates are $89 and values are $54. I might leave this up 2 my DW.

For rent/trade you first have to know the number of points you need...

then you have to see how much people are willing to rent the points are anywhere between $9 (unheard of???) to $15 a point - the common posted points are $10 - $12...

and I just checked $520 for ONE NIGHT at POLYNESIAN :scared1: Holy carp - it is SO NOT WORTH IT!! But BLT renting points for one night - do go for it!! IMHO!!

http://dvcnews.com/index.php/points-charts-program-information-62/dvc-resorts-program-information-105/624?task=view
maybe 26 points?? so 26 times 10 dollars = good deal!! (ok when compared to $520!!)

Well October 27th is next week!!! Disney has yet to post any hours and there have been no leaks, that I have found, yet. So I'm going to have to book ADRs with no idea of park hours. I have to book these for 4 adults and 3 kids.. with a family that has never been before. Here are the ADRs I want to book- Akershus for lunch, CM for dinner, and 1900 Park Fair dinner on Juliana's birthday. Most likely Kona for breakfast as well, I just don't know if they would be interested in going here.

So with using the crowd predictions I have come up with this tentative schedule:

Saturday 3/6 we check in and go shopping for food. Make dinner at the house, go swimming, try to get the kids to bed early, have a few cocktails

Sunday 3/7 CC 5 DHS is supposed to be the least crowded. But the princess 1/2 will be going on this morning. I'm not sure how this will impact roads & parks.

Monday 3/8 CC 7 MK I would like to do MK first but I think staying away from here on Sunday would be smart. CC says MK is best park on Monday. Stay to watch Wishes and hopefully Spectro too.

Tuesday 3/9 CC 5 Epcot with lunch at Akershus CC says Epcot is worst park on this day.

Wednesday 3/10 CC 5 Day Off.. Possibly late breakfast at Kona? Maybe check out monorail resorts. Take out Sea Raycers. Chill at the house go swimming? It up in the air.

Thursday 3/11 CC 5 MK? AK? I'm not sure. Melody was thinking of going to BBB for Juliana's birthday. I don't even know if we could get an appointment. Then 1900 Park Fair for dinner.

Friday 3/12 CC 8 MK DHS best Epcot worst I'm not sure Possibly CM dinner either today or Saturday

Saturday 3/13 CC 8 Epcot best DHS worst I'm not sure?

Sunday 3/14 CC 8 No sure if/when our friends are driving home? We still might do a park. I'm not sure.

Monday 3/15 Fly home

Well I am looking for your suggestions. What do you think I should do?

All7OfUs
10-21-2009, 01:11 AM
Are you trying to hit the worst parks?? Seems like you've got yourselves going to the worst ones according to CC?? or did I misread something?

Why am I not surprised that you'll be starting out the week with a "few" cocktails??

Assuming you'll be eating at the condo the rest of the time?? Only 4 meals in the parks???

OK I re-read what I posted and it was confusing. I am going to try again... this time let me start with the crowd predictions:

Date.................Crowd..Best....Worst

Sun, 07 Mar '10.....5.......DS .........MK EP AK...... PRINCESS HALF-MARATHON WEEKEND
Mon, 08 Mar '10.....7......MK .........DS AK
Tue, 09 Mar '10......5......DS AK......EP
Wed, 10 Mar '10.....5......MK EP.......AK
Thu, 11 Mar '10......5......AK............MK EP DS
Fri, 12 Mar '10.......8......MK DS.......EP
Sat, 13 Mar '10......8......EP.............DS................S PRING BREAK SEASON BEGINS
Sun, 14 Mar '10.....8.......AK............MK EP DS
Mon, 15 Mar '10.....8.......MK ...........AK

So with using the crowd predictions I have come up with this tentative schedule:

Saturday 3/6 we check in and go shopping for food. Make dinner at the house, go swimming, try to get the kids to bed early, have a few cocktails

Sunday 3/7 DHS is supposed to be the least crowded. But the princess 1/2 will be going on this morning. I'm not sure how this will impact roads & parks. I am thinking about doing DHS.

Monday 3/8 I would like to do MK first but I think staying away from here on Sunday would be smart. CC says MK is best park on Monday. Stay to watch Wishes and hopefully Spectro too.

Tuesday 3/9 Epcot with lunch at Akershus CC says Epcot is worst park on this day. Or maybe do AK.

Wednesday 3/10 Day Off.. Possibly late breakfast at Kona? Maybe check out monorail resorts. Take out Sea Raycers. Chill at the house go swimming? It is up in the air. Melody, Juliana, and I will probably meet up with her cousin & family.

Thursday 3/11 MK? AK? I'm not sure. Melody was thinking of going to BBB for Juliana's birthday. I don't even know if we could get an appointment. Then 1900 Park Fair for dinner.

Friday 3/12 I'm not sure Possibly CM dinner either today or Saturday

Saturday 3/13 I'm not sure? I would like to keep Saturday open to just go where ever. I really want to do Epcot before Saturday????

Sunday 3/14 Not sure if/when our friends are driving home? We still might do a park. I'm not sure.

Monday 3/15 Fly home

Well I am looking for your suggestions. What do you think I should do?

We are going to try to eat most dinners and all but 1 breakfast at the house. We will eat some CS in the parks for lunch.

Not a clue. Anyone ever been there for this?? :confused3

Monday 3/8 I would like to do MK first but I think staying away from here on Sunday would be smart. CC says MK is best park on Monday. Stay to watch Wishes and hopefully Spectro too.

Smart move. Do stay for Wishes and Spectro. Jul can fall asleep in her stroller if she needs to.

Tuesday 3/9 Epcot with lunch at Akershus CC says Epcot is worst park on this day. Or maybe do AK.

You can always hop if it gets insane. maybe stay for the AM, eat then hop to AK?

Wednesday 3/10 Day Off.. Possibly late breakfast at Kona? Maybe check out monorail resorts. Take out Sea Raycers. Chill at the house go swimming? It is up in the air. Melody, Juliana, and I will probably meet up with her cousin & family.

I like this plan. I know how you love your Kona! Maybe if Mel and Jul don't want to do Sea Racers, you could get an Alice Tea party at the GF for her.?? A day off in the middle is good!!!

Thursday 3/11 MK? AK? I'm not sure. Melody was thinking of going to BBB for Juliana's birthday. I don't even know if we could get an appointment. Then 1900 Park Fair for dinner.

Yes, Ana, will need to see her prince Charming again, won't she??

Friday 3/12 I'm not sure Possibly CM dinner either today or Saturday

Saturday 3/13 I'm not sure? I would like to keep Saturday open to just go where ever. I really want to do Epcot before Saturday????

Why not EPCOT on Friday? Then leave Sat open for resort hopping, or for whatever you haven't done yet, so far? Then CM that night?

Sunday 3/14 Not sure if/when our friends are driving home? We still might do a park. I'm not sure.

Pool time? and then 1/2 day at EPCOT (I'd need more time here, since it's my fave.) but maybe you could let Ana choose this day, or play the whichever bus comes first game?

Monday 3/15 Fly home

Leisa,
Is it just the two of us here?[cue Grover Washington]

The only problem with planing Monday to be our Wishes day is that I still don't know the park hours and hopefully Wishes will be on Monday.

Hoppers- Don't have them:sad2: I told our friends not to get them. I guess we could add if needed but that would be another $160 for them. I was trying to save them some $.

Friday is worst for Epcot.... But we might have to do it then anyway.

Sunday.. We might be checking into a resort? Who knows if our friends stay too maybe I can add a day onto our house rental.

AAIGHT time for me to get to sleep!!!!

Oh yeah, forgot you don't have the PHs. NO matter. early March shouldn't be too big a deal with crowds. We were there smack in the middle of Spring break in 2008, and it was still very manageable.

Hmmm... will you get park hours in time to make an intelligent decision?? Why does Disney make it so hard for folks?? Ticks me off.

I'm Surprised that mk is best on a Monday. When I've been checking it's been worst because of late emh.

OK! I can help, sort of! I have been there for 3 years on or around those dates. MK usually has Spectro on Sunday nights and Friday nights. We also go to MK on Sunday for it and it also has EMH, so it meas the park is busier in the day, but we don't get there till early evening. The Princess marathon was going on last year when we went. BUT by the time we got there it was long over with. I think it starts pretty early. Originally last year they had DHS for Sunday EMH and Monday for MK EMH's and Spectro, only that week, becuase of the Princess marathon and they were going to have the PM after party at MK with the pirates and Princess party...BUT.. That got cancled, so they switched the PM after party to DHS (which means it closes early) and moved the EMH hours back to MK for Sunday(and Spectro). I am assuming they will keep this set up this year, but who knows. I just know that last year I was watching calanders daily and about 2 weeks before my trip they switched it up. But typically in March it is has been Spectro on Sundays and Fridays. DHS usually has EMH on Monday nights, Tuesday it's Epcot (I can't remember which are morning and which are nights for alot of them, as we only do night ones) I think Tuesday are MK mornings ones, but don;t qupte me. AK is Wed. nights Don't remember Thursdays or Fridays. We did MK on Friday and it didn't have EMH hours, but since Spectro was that night it was really busy. We did MK on Monday as well, and it was managable, but we mostly did BBB that day and picture taking.
I hope I didn't confuse you more. LOL! But EMH days are typcially more busy. If you have any other questions, let me know, and I'll try to flick through my notes.
ALSO if I get DH to go this year, it will most likely be that same week, so maybe we can take a moment to meet up if it all works out right. If we go, and the 4/3 deal is still going on when we book, I am actually thinking of trying CBR. It's only 80+ dollars more than Pop and I think Claire would enjoy the slide at the main pool. I think IF we would go, I may try and take one day off from the parks and just let her have a day of swimming. Thats not so fun for me, but that is one of her favorite things about vacation. And maybe get a nap in or do some other stuff we don't normally do. It's all a big IF though.

Well one of us quite possibly might have a hopper..:rolleyes1 But the other 6 people don't! LOL

We have been the first week of March the last 2 years. This year we moved to the second week. 2008 the crowds were very low. Last year they were much busier.

I hope Disney releases some type of hours.:surfweb:

Yea this TR will not die!! (till March) Then what will I do after March?

It is different in March because MK closes at 8. Last year there were only 2 or 3 days a week of Spectro.

First off hurray:yay:for possible another trip!!! I've seen pics of the CBR pool and look really cool! I'm sure Claire would love it!

I usually plan to stay away from EMHs, especially when staying offsite like we are this time. Come on Disney post those hours!!!

Thanks for your help Jen. I have to factor in Juliana's birthday on 3/11 Thursday. I would of liked to do AK this day but if my wife has her way, BBB will be done on this day. I don't know.. my DW and our friends haven't discussed any of this. It wouldn't be such a big deal but with 10/27 on Tuesday I need a basic park plan so I can book some ADRs.

Saturday 3/6 we check in and go shopping for food. Make dinner at the house, go swimming, try to get the kids to bed early, have a few cocktails

Well...it is possible that we could run into each other this day. We are staying at All Star Sports. Since it is the official marathon resort.

Sunday 3/7 DHS is supposed to be the least crowded. But the princess 1/2 will be going on this morning. I'm not sure how this will impact roads & parks. I am thinking about doing DHS.

DHS will definitely be the best park. The Princess Half goes from Epcot to the Magic Kingdom and back to Epcot. So DHS should be a good park to visit.

Monday 3/8 I would like to do MK first but I think staying away from here on Sunday would be smart. CC says MK is best park on Monday. Stay to watch Wishes and hopefully Spectro too.

You know I am going BE THERE that weekend!

I will be doing the Princess Half and then heading on a plane, though. So our window to run into each other would be pretty small. We would be there Friday to Sunday.

Once I've caught up, I'll post a longer reply!

OK here are the specifics of the March trip. I guess it does get confusing to do 2 in 1 PTRs.:confused3 I'll find some pics of the kids for you and start you at my MINI TR when we went to visit our friends this summer.

* Who? DW Melody, DD3 Juliana, Me- Tim & our friends Dave, Branda, Victoria (3), Alex (2)

* When? March 3- March 14 maybe 15th or even 16th

* Where? Renting a house in Windsor Palms (update.. deposit is out!)

* Reasons for going? Our trip was being discussed for at least 6-8 months. Our friends moved last year from Connecticut to Indiana. We get to see them every few months when they come back to CT. We also have a summer trip planned to drive out and see them in Indiana. Our daughters are only 1 month apart in age and they love each other. Both Juliana and Victoria love the princesses. Juliana's favorite is Cinderella and Victoria's favorite is Belle. We have traveled with Dave & Branda many times before we had kids. They love to have a good time and when we are all together LOOK OUT! They have never been to Disney before and since we haven't traveled with them in a while, what better place to go?

EDIT::: If you wanted to 'meet' our friends you can check out my mini TR. This thread started on page 26 http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2143771&page=26

Well...Lisa is going to be with me. And she has to be back by Sunday night so she can Lauren to school Monday.

We are flying out around 6:00 PM - so we should have time to get everything together.

It will definitely be a trip just focused on the half. It will start VERY early in the morning - probably around 6 and I won't finish till close to 10, depending on when I start. So we will probably get a meal somewhere and then basically head home.

I've come up with a tentative schedule, by myself, for March. DW and our friends, who are actually here in CT right now, have given me no input. So I'll be the one up at 3am tonight making these ADRs. With my luck the website will crash and I won't be able to make 'em. So here is my idea:

Wednesday-Saturday 3/3-3/6- We will be in Bradenton, FL visiting with Melody's grandparents

Saturday 3/6- We leave Bradenton around 12 and drive to the house (about a 2 hour drive). Get situated, hit the grocery store, cook dinner, relax

Sunday 3/7- Have breakfast & dinner at the house Go to DHS

Monday 3/8- Breakfast at the house; MK for Wishes and hopefully Spectro

Tuesday 3/9- Breakfast at the house; AK; Try to get CM ADR for 5-7pm

Wednesday 3/10 DAY OFF; maybe goto Kona for breakfast if our friends want to go. DTD at night?

Thursday 3/11 Juliana's Birthday Breakfast at the house; MK; BBB for the kids; Try to get 1900 Park Fair ADR 4:30-6:30 Wishes hopefully

Friday 3/12 I have no plans for this day as of now

Saturday 3/13 Breakfast at the house maybe Dinner too. Epcot Try to get Akershus Lunch for 12-2

Sunday 3/14 Breakfast at the house; check out.. then ? not sure what is going to happen; Check into a Disney hotel Thinking a moderate.. with AP it is $89. I might try to get an ADR at 'Ohana for dinner.

Monday 3/15 One more park

Tuesday 3/16 Kona Breakfast maybe? Hang out at the hotel Swim get ready to go to MCO

Well there it is. I only have a few open days and I really don't like having to plan out our whole week for our friends, but you know the drill. I can't go down there with no plan and expect to get any ADR's. With only having 3 ADRs to book while our friends are there, I needed to put together some kind of plan. Let me know what you think. 3AM is going to come quick!

I just realized we will be in FL for 2 weeks!!!!!!!! LOL

Ugh I know! Hopefully you get the ADR's you want and hopefully I'll get mine too!
So how did you do?:)

You may have jinxed yourself by saying that. Cuz, that's exactly what's happening!! :lmao: Ooops, I shouldn't laugh, Really I feel your pain, guys!! That sucks!

I like that plan, but I'd would need more of one. This seems so loosey-goosey to me. I went with non-planners last time,---never again. do hope it works out getting them on board with the plans you DO make!!!
Disney does know how to make is stressful! I will explain everything in a min.

Oh no! Is the website crashing?? Geez...you would think they would have planned for that...
The website went down at 6:15.. I haven't checked to see if it was back up yet... I don't have to!;)
Did you get the ADR's? Do you know you will probably have to make them one at a time since you are not staying on property. (can't do the 180 plus 10 when off property)
Since today was the switch to 180 days I got to make them all at once! Which worked in my favor!

Thats great. It makes me sad...becuase IF and a big IF we go that same week I could be making mine too.

Skip had his hip surgery yesterday and it went well. Maybe while he's still "out of it" and can get him to agree to go! LOL! I think he would still be alert enough to know I was doing that to him. LOL! :lmao:
I'm glad everything went well. Make sure you ask him about going about 30 minutes after administering the pain meds.. HEY it could work!:rotfl:

Here we go....

I got home last night about 1:15. Melody talked with our friend Branda about the schedule I had come up with. Branda wanted to add another dinner... Crystal Palace! So I was up to 4 ADRs. I was determined to stay awake till 3 to see if I could just make the ADRs then. The systems adds the next day at 3am. I made it to 2:30 then I finally passed out on the couch. I had my cell phone set to go off at 2:50. I woke up to Mel shaking me and my phone ringing... it was 2:58.

I jumped on and sat waiting.... The day flipped but it was still at 90 days out. I stayed up till 3:30 just to make sure there wasn't anything fishy going on. Finally I had enough. I set my phone to 5:55 and passed back out.

I woke up to my alarm again. I had the 4 ADRs saved as bookmarks. At 6 you could choose up to 180 days!! SCORE!!! or Scorn as Juliana likes to put it! LOL I punched in my times, clicked send, and nothing... Kept at it and about 6:15 the whole system was down.:headache: I can't say I was surprised, I knew this was going to happen. Time to wait till 7 so I can call.

I made sure I had all my info together and starting dialing at 7. I must of dialed about 150 times. I heard some really cool busy signals for about 50 minutes....THEN IT HAPPENED! I got through!!! It said there was more than a 30 minute wait! No problem.. I wasn't going anywhere. It was about 8:15 when the CM picked up!!!! I got to speak to Maritza.

OK HERE WE GO! I started with my most important ADR. 1900 Park Fare for Juliana's birthday dinner. I asked for 5:30. I got 5:55!!!! SCORE. I started on the next one..... Chef Mickey's. While it was searching something happened to the CM's computer. She had to reboot and put me on hold!!!!!! I was worried.... She never gave me my confirmation # for 1900PF. I was hoping it was still booked! About 5 minutes later she came back, said she was really sorry, and explained the system was extremely slow. I said no problem and we kept at it.

Chef Mickey's was next- asked for 6pm I got 6:30pm. CP- asked for 5pm got 5pm. Akershus- asked for 12:30 (L) got 12:30 Kona- (B) 9am got 9am

While I was on the phone I figured I need to make something for Monday. I booked Kona again for breakfast at 8:30 and Whispering Canyon for dinner 6:15 got that too!!

She went through gave me my ADR #'s and I gave her my CC for Akershus. She asked if that was it. I said yes.... WAIT. I asked her for the number to book BBB. She told me she can do that too! I asked for 3/11 Juliana's birthday at the BBB in the Castle for 10:30. GOT IT TOO!!!! She was very pleasant and we were joking a little bit. I asked her if they had extra people working... she said everyone was working today. Before we hung up I told her to have a great day and not to work too hard. I got her laughing!!! I hung up and was soo happy!!!!

Here is what we ended up with:
Mon 3/8 CP (D) 5pm
Tue 3/9 CM (D) 6:30pm
Thu 3/11 BBB 10:30am 1900PF (D) 5:55pm
Fri 3/12 Kona (B) 9am
Sat 3/13 Akershus (L) 12:30pm
Mon 3/15 Kona (B) 8:30am WC (D) 6:15

WHEW I'm tired. I hope Ana takes a nap later.. cuz I'm going on 2 1/2 hours sleep.:faint::faint:

I did something crazy today....I put a trip on "hold" for April and what is sort of freaking me out is that I can book my ADR's today (like everyone else in the world) but the dates just came to me yesterday when I was looking at my DS's school calendar and they're off for a few days around April 22nd. I must get myself in action, quick! YIKES, pray for me... :) I'm worried it might still be too crowded although I think Disney has it as a "good time to go". I can't get into tourining plans to check either!

Ok, off to see if they have any more hours up or the system is available...

I know!!! So did you make yours???

How is your DH feeling? I hope better. I think you told me that he might have to do his other hip (or was it knee?) too? My DW told me that a lot of the time the doctors suggest doing both at once because many people don't come back for the other one after going through all the pain. So did you take my advice and give him the meds then ask him?:goodvibes

Do the kids/us have to specifically ask for GKTW or if the child says Disney is that were they send them? If Disney is her choice, I would want to stay at GKTW.

Side note- I've been listening to the WDW Today Podcast that you suggested. I actually like this one.. although I'm not too sure I'm learning anything. I'm not a WDW know-it-all but it does seem like I already know what they are talking about. I listened to 4-5 episodes so maybe it was just those eposodes.

Okay...I guess I was a bad girl and I skimmed at some point. What is the "WISH?" I'm lost...help. :confused3
Sorry Kat.

Since Juliana had a life threatening disease she is eligible for Make-A-Wish. I took this off their website:

Who is eligible?
A child with a life-threatening medical condition who has reached the age of 2 1/2 and is under the age of 18 at the time of referral, is potentially eligible for a wish.
After a child is referred to the Make-A-Wish Foundation®, the Foundation will contact the child's treating physician to determine whether the child is medically eligible for a wish, based on the medical criteria established by the Make-A-Wish Foundation of America. In addition, a child cannot have received a wish from another wish-granting organization.

I don't know if you knew but Maroo does a lot on the DIS & in 'real' life for Wish families. She started and answers questions on this thread -->http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2039777 for families that are going on WDW Wish trips. If you want to read some heart warming and sad stories check out some of the TRs on the wish thread. If nothing else read this one--> http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2279281 It is the most MaGiCaL story about a boys Wish trip to Disney and all that was done for him!

Uh...ur....

Nope.

I am having issues. Lisa won't tell me what she wants to do while we are there. We are only there Friday evening, Saturday and Sun AM. Sun is the half. We will need to be in bed early on Saturday.

I guess I need to make us some ressies...and just tell her about them?

She won't talk to me about Disney - she can't see past today. :(

Do the kids/us have to specifically ask for GKTW or if the child says Disney is that were they send them? If Disney is her choice, I would want to stay at GKTW.

If the child requests Disney or Universal or Sea World, then they are taken care of through GKTW.

GKTW houses something like 95% of the children going to Disney on a Wish Trip. When we went, GKTW was full, so they told us they could either reschedule the dates or put us up at Disney. Because of Lauren's mobility issues and the additional medical needs in the family, they said that they wanted us in a monorail resort - so we got the Contemporary. Nice!

It was probably best for Lauren's trip to do it that way...but for someone younger - GKTW is the way to go! :)

I believe you would certainly have the option. She could always wish to stay at GKTW. But how would she know about it? :confused3

Yeah...sometimes I yell at them through my iPhone! But I have met three of them in real life and they are the nicest guys! They have a lot of Disney knowledge...but if you sit on the boards hours each day...well...you know more than most cast members! ;)

I technically didn't start the concept...a lady named Wendy, who had a child going on a wish trip, started it.

But I have really enjoyed getting to know all of the wish families! They are a neat group of folks! I figure that's nice may one day be one of our wish trippers! :thumbsup2 Unless Juliana wishes for something different, which would be great, too!

And that trip....the MaGiCaL one....

Was the most magical day...EVER. I can't think of one more magical off the top of my head.

Uh...ur....

Maybe you can have a later dinner on Friday or a nice late lunch on Saturday. I'm sorry to hear that Lisa is having a hard time right now. Is Lauren feeling any better?

:confused3
If she did decide on Disney (which if we did this in the next 1-2 years I'm sure she would) then I guess we could ask for GKTW if they put us up somewhere different.
Yeah...sometimes I yell at them through my iPhone! But I have met three of them in real life and they are the nicest guys! They have a lot of Disney knowledge...but if you sit on the boards hours each day...well...you know more than most cast members! ;)

LOL.. They joke around, which is fine, but at least they don't talk over each other like the DIS podcast. I'm sure they are fun people.. they come across that way.

I never knew about Wendy... You do a great job answering everyone's questions and keep many of the families from freaking out! LOL

I'm sure Disney would be high on her list.. This is a Disney everyday household! :rotfl:

For the original call. I got through at 8am PST.

I was laughing because I finally got what you wrote on All7ofUS's thread about "clang clang clang goes the trolley"

I made all the ADRs for the family portion of the trip

I called back and didn't really have too many issues getting through at about 12:30pm PST. These ADRs were for the solo portion of the trip.

You like Kona for Breakfast? Hmmm......I may have to look at my ADRs again.....:rolleyes1

Those days look really good! Low crowds!

I had the filet at LeCellier last March and it was awesome! I eat filet often and this was up there with the best. We had some great deserts too!

We are thinking about when to do Juliana's Wish trip. Maybe once we get through the holidays we will decide on something.:confused3

I also looked at where you're from. My brother recently moved from sunny CA to Eastern CT to a little town called Plainfield. He drives and takes the train to New Haven(?) as he works at Yale...My niece is a freshman at UCONN and just pledged KKR...

I just watched my Yankees lose to the Phillies. :sad2: But I do have a few thoughts and some good news!

First about the ADRs. Yes it was hectic going through that yesterday but it was so totally worth it!!! This was the only way that someone staying offsite like we are this trip could get what we got! Plus being out 135 days helps too. If you are on the ADR site you can play around with dates and get ADRs to CRT for lunch and dinner the whole week we are going to be there 3/6-3/16. What does this mean??? I have no idea. Could it be the economy, maybe a lot of people didn't realize that the window went back to 180 days. I can only think that this is going to be good for us.

Second, I bought our airline tickets tonight!!!:woohoo::yay: We are leaving Wednesday 3/3 8am, flying to Tampa then driving to Bradenton. We fly home Tuesday 3/16 4:20 landing at 7pm. I guess this makes the trip a little more real!

EDIT:: I forgot to add the Tickets cost us $608. Not too bad!

Plainfield is about a 25 minute drive from here. UCONN is about 70minutes from where I live. Both my parents went to Uconn and my brother did as well. He was a cheerleader and has a women's and men's basketball national championship rings. GO Huskies!

We've been having fun for the last few days but....

Melody caved in and got the H1N1 vaccine last night. She was going to have to take care of a patient that had it but then his surgery got canceled. She figured she should just go and get it. There are patients at her hospital that have H1N1 now.

They are closing some schools in CT because of the number of sick kids. I had a grammar school Halloween dance Friday night that canceled because of H1N1 fears. It is starting to get bad.

Juliana has her 3 months scans and her oncologist appointment on Monday morning. As always, we start getting a little antsy. We are going to find out what we should do with Juliana getting the H1N1 vaccine. With her having MPO deficiency, her immune system is not as strong. Having her in school now and taking dancing, she is around many other kids that we have no idea if they, or someone in their family, are sick or not. Hopefully we will get some answers and hopefully they will have the vaccine at CCMC. (Connecticut Children's Medical Center)

As always, we hope her scans and blood tests come back normal.princess:

H1N1 is scary, but if Juliana gets it they should give her Tamiflu and hopefully she will get well very fast.

Good for Mel. I've not had a flu shot in probably ten years. The last time I had one I got so sick that I swore them off. We have one lawyer in the hospital with swine flu and one of the girls that sits near me has been home the last three days because her daughter has it.

We usually find the results of the scans and the bloodwork the same day... usually later in the afternoon before the clinic closes.

Did you trick or treat??
.
I did end up buying the goatee. It was horrible.... so horrible that I ended up wearing it the whole night! LOL I'll post a pic tomorrow. This picture is a little preview to our MNSSHP pictures.

Thank you for the well wishes.

I went with the kids (there were about 8 of them) when people saw me in costume they gave me candy too. I was eating the candy as I went. I had a stomach ache when we got back to Mel's friends house.:sad2:

I like both but I was eating all the chocolate I could get yesterday. I rarely eat candy, but I was loving it yesterday!

OK I uploaded one real quick before I head to bed.. I'm beat. See how bad it was? I wonder if I wore this during MNSSHP too???? :scared1:

Well I did drink a beer- I needed it. Juliana was bouncing off the walls all day and I need to self medicate! LOL

I did use eye liner. I couldn't get it all off apparently... Mel said she could still see it on my eyes. Too bad she told me this while we were in church. :sad2:

figures.... hope you didn't have to explain that to too many people wondering. It's like when you have an infant, and you shop for 2 hours in the grocery store, only to find a big wad of spit up all over your shoulder after you get home. :lmao:

We will be thinking good thoughts for Juliana on Monday.

It looks like you had a great Halloween. We had a nice one here but it was very chilly. We only trick or treated up and down our street. We have been fighting off colds so we did not want to be out too long.

I think my DD2 had more fun running to the door every time the bell rang. I asked her to sit with me in the living room by the door when it was busy but she said nooo and dragged me to the back room and told us we had to sit. We did then she dragged us to the door and did it all over again. She kept yelling kids commin!!

My DH went to a party at the neighbors house while we stayed at home and relaxed. I think she made it 10 minutes into Toy Story 2 before she passed out on the sofa. She only naps in her bed so this was a bug suprise but I was tired from running back and forth to the door too.

We can not wait to see your next installment with your MNSSHP pics.

Good Luck tom.:wizard:

We are leaving for the hospital in 20 minutes and Juliana woke up with a 101 fever. So no vaccine for her today. She seems to be OK but now she has a little cough every once in a while. Hopefully it is just a cold.

I'm praying that it's just a cold. Will they still do the other tests even with her fever? I'm hoping for excellent results for your little princess princess:

We got home and they already called with the results.

The good news (most important)- Her x-rays, & ultrasound show no signs of cancer. Her bloodwork came back very good, her ANC was 2500. All three of us had to wear masks and Juliana wasn't able to get the H1N1 vaccine. They tested her for the H1N1 flu and the first part of the test already came back negative.

Bad news- The second part of the test can take up to 3 days. So we have to wait to hear the results. Her chest x-ray was clouded, telling them she has some sort of respiratory infection. We are going to watch her closely and she is watching a movie right now. She still has a fever and will be taking a nap soon.

Hopefully it is just a cold- which I think it is.

Thank you all for the thoughts and prayers.
