I am sorry that you guys have something else to wonder/worry about. Hopefully you are doing more wondering than worrying.

Keep us posted! And good luck at the pre-school! :goodvibes

Thanks for the luck! Mel is going to call tomorrow and set up the appointment.

Oh my goodness, Juliana has been a doll from the day she was born! :cutie:

I hope you guys learn everything that you need to know to help her out! I know that you and Melody can do it! Some days may be worse than others, but you have to make it through the storm to get to the sunshine again. :)

We have already been through the hard stuff.... This shouldn't be anywhere close to that.:goodvibes

Catching up - I'm sorry to hear about the immune issues. That said, they always said heart kids get sicker than others - and Olivia missed that memo!

I'm sure princess Julianna is going to be just FINE. You both have such positive attitudes and I truly believe that makes a world of difference!

Hey everyone...
I haven't posted much the last few days. My work is really picking up and with a few nice days this week, I've been outside playing with Juliana. At night I have hardly even been on the computer. I've just been following along a few TR's and still trying to research a few more restaurants.

We have found out the results from Juliana's tests 2 weeks ago. Juliana does have an immune deficiency disorder. I currently don't know what its called or what it even entails. We are setting up another appointment to go talk to the doctors and find out everything we need to know. I'm assuming it just means that she will be getting sick more often than a 'normal' kid... but over the last year she hasn't been sick any more than any other kid I know. She also isn't around other kids that much. We have a meeting with a pre-school on Monday. I can see once she is around kids without us washing and cleaning her hands all the time, she will probably be sick more.

On a lighter note I uploaded some pictures of her when she was first born.

Hey everyone...
I had to work all day and I just got home. Melody was able to speak to a doctor today so we got some more info on what was going on. Juliana has a mild form of MPO Deficiency. There isn't too much written about this but the doctor basically said that we will just have to do yearly checkups to make sure it isn't getting worse. Thank you all for your nice comments and I will try to address all of them tomorrow. I still don't know all the details but this is what I found about MPO Deficiency....

Myeloperoxidase (MPO) is an iron-containing human enzyme that helps neutrophils and monocytes (types of white blood cells) destroy foreign substances like bacteria, fungi, and viruses that enter the body.
Myeloperoxidase deficiency, a disorder that occurs when individuals have abnormally low or nonexistent levels of the enzyme, was first described in 1954. Some patients who have MPO deficiency are unable to destroy substances that enter the body as efficiently as individuals who have the enzyme. However, most patients are asymptomatic (experience no symptoms) and the condition is usually undiagnosed.
In most cases the condition is inherited. When the condition is caused by other medical conditions, such as anemia, thrombotic diseases, or diabetes mellitus, it is called acquired MPO deficiency. Most acquired cases are temporary and resolve once the underlying cause is treated.
In general, most individuals with partial or complete MPO deficiency have no increased frequency of infections. This is because MPO-deficient neutrophils are able to phagocytose (engulf) most microbes normally.
However, the neutrophils' ability to actually kill the bacteria typically occurs at a slower rate. For instance, when bacteria like Staphylococcus aureus or Escherichia coli enter the body, it takes the neutrophils longer than normal to kill the bacteria. This indicates that the MPO-deficient cells use a different and slower method of killing the microbes.
The MPO-deficient neutrophils are completely unable to kill certain fungi and in vitro (test tube) studies have shown that Candida albicans, Candida krusei, Candida stellatoidea, and Candida tropicalis cannot be killed by MPO-deficient neutrophils.
Severe infections occur in fewer than five percent of patients with MPO deficiency. In general, infections only occur in patients who also have diabetes mellitus. The reason for this remains unknown.
Since most cases are undiagnosed, researchers initially thought that the condition was very rare. Only 15 cases reported worldwide before 1970. Today, technological advances in sciences have led researchers to believe the condition is more prevalent, with incidence rates from studies ranging from one case per 1,400 to 2,000 people in the United States.

I think she will be ok too. She is getting stronger every day. Now we need to figure out with her oncologist if we have to get her counts every time she has a fever, or if we can stop that.

It most likely is inherited.... DW says its from her.LOL She says she was always sick as a kid. Me on the other hand was rarely sick. To determine who is the carrier we would have to get genetic testing done, which most likely, wouldn't be covered under insurance. It could cost up to 50K from what I understand.

As long as Juliana is being taken care of I wouldn't see the point in putting all this money into the test.

Back on the boards after another crazy weekend.

On Friday I got my first pin!!! It was emailed to me. It was the kids stay, play, & dine for free promo. I thought it was funny that the first dates were for this week Sunday- Thursday. I don't think I would have called to book a vacay on Friday to arrive yesterday.:confused3 Plus I don't think the deal was all too great. But now I'm happy because I'm on some kind of list too!!!

DW said that she knows a ton of people that have gone/going to Disney recently. She thinks it is from the birthday promo. I donno though. I told her she better start thinking of where she wants to eat while we are there. This time its on her!!!! (I'm sure I'll be the one up early with dining making the ressies! LOL)

This morning we went to check out a pre-school for Juliana and ended up signing her up. It is 2 days a week for 2 1/2 hours. Juliana knew a few kids there from her Wednesday library class. Of course she was shy at first, but then she was playing with the kids and didn't want to leave!:goodvibes

She is officially 'scared' of it now. We ask her what's so scary and she can't tell us. There is no bribe big enough to get her to go. I could have a dump truck full of M&M's and she still won't go!! LOL

I think we still like 'house #2'.... if you remember that one. Our friends from Indiana will be here this weekend and I hope we can get something finalized so we can get a deposit on it. Hopefully it is still available!:goodvibes

I remember house #2. Hope it works out for you. Along with the potty training. My nephew used to be afraid of being sucked in :rotfl: it took him a while and once he was kind of used to it he did his business and stepped to the side to flush. Little kids think the weirdest things. Good luck.

Potty Training! Hmmm....it is interesting. What I have found is to encourage them but do not push them. My son was easy to potty train, at 3 years and 1 week he decided he was wearing underware and has ever since with a few accidents after but not many. I did encourage him pull-ups (and big boy underware toy story print at the time) and his very own brand new little potty.

DD was another story. I did the same pull-ups, big girl panties with Dora on them, and her very own brand new potty. She was not happy about it. Did not want to use it at all. I finally got her potty trained by the time she was 3 years and 3 weeks but she still had night time and a few day time accidents for a long time and had to wear pull-ups to bed. In fact, she was 4 before she stopped night time accidents and had 2 when she was 5.

So basically, I have found even with my daycare kids they will do it when they are ready but encouragement and a little potty that they picked out at the store works wonders! :thumbsup2

Potty training:

We started buying REALLY CHEAP diapers. No more pampers once we decided we were doing it. Because wet cheap diapers are NOT comfy. And don't bother with the pull ups because they are glorified diapers. The other option is to just let her run around the house half dressed or nekkid. Assuming you have hardwood floors ... ;) Leave the potty chair in the room she'll be in. Set a timer and make her sit on the potty every 10 minutes or so?

Can you use Disney as an incentive? "You need to be a big girl to go back to Disney so no more diapers?"

I agree! As a person with a degree in education with an emphasis in early childhood, do not use pull ups! They really are glorified diapers and confuse children because they are so similar. Take one weekend and dedicate yourself to taking her every hour and she'll get it :)

Cheap diapers.. sounds good to me! LOL That could work. I've been waiting for the warm weather so she could go nakkid. Hopefully she will let us do this.

We tried the every 20minute route.. After she sat on the potty, 3 minutes later she was wetting on the floor. I couldn't believe it! LOL

We tried using Disney... no dice. There is nothing I can offer her that will get her on there.:confused3

Haha, I was checking in to see how the planning was going.

Apparently my grandmother potty trained me wayyyy too young while my parents were gone for a weekend. I was easy I guess!! The only problem is that my parents would then have to get up in the middle of the night with me because my bladder wasn't big enough yet! :rotfl:

You will probably get a ton of advice from lots of people and it will all be so differen t. Just do whats right for you. For us, that whole set them on the potty every so many minutes never worked. Some people feel if they do this they may be more stubborn or regress. Others swear by by it. For me, it just didn't work. They all went when they were ready. All my kids did pullups at night for many years. Bed wetting runs in the family, so I never had an issue with it. We also never did pullups till they started going potty then put them on only becuase we didn't want an accident. Especially while out and about. Rarely did my kids have an accident. But if I put them on them before they were ready, they were used as a diaper.

Our friends are on their way to CT and will be here late tonight. I have our houses narrowed down to about 12 with house #2 in the lead. Hopefully it will still be available. I have to explain the tickets to them and try to see where they would want to eat. Few of the choices that I am going to suggest to them are CRT (L), CP (B or D), Kona (B), 'Ohana (D), Akershus (B), Le Cellier (D), 1900 (B or D), Chef Mickey's (D), T-Rex or Rainforest (D), Beaches & Cream (L), and Raglan Road (D). We will be eating most breakfasts at the house before we go so we will probably do 2-3 breakfasts out.

I think we are just going to do Disney but we might do a day at Sea World. Those plans are still up in the air.:goodvibes

Thanks for reading! I have a Sony Cybershot H5 super zoom camera. I like it but it does leave a lot to be desired. The flash takes a few seconds to charge and sometimes is very slow. :( I am thinking of getting a DSLR for my next camera at some point this summer. Possibly a Canon.

Sea World would be a fun day trip! Kona- Best breakfast of the trip- 2nd runner up that I dont see on your list is Ohana Breakfast- it was REALLY good!! LOVED leCellier- besides Narcoosees was our favorite dinner. IMO I really didnt like Askerhaus... They really rushed us. It could have just been that day. I also didnt like how they had a cold buffet and then they brought you some hot items... we had wanted more eggs because for 4 of us they didnt really bring enough- and she ended up bringing them after we paid and as we were heading out the door. Just my experience though!!

Well here is my update from this past weekend. First I will quote myself about our friends party on Sunday:I hope the weather holds out for them. They are having a birthday party outside tomorrow for the kids.

It started out nice. It was sunny, hot, and humid. Everyone was outside having a great time... until the dark clouds started moving in. Then the thunder and rain came. Normally these thunder storms last a little while and move out.... well not this time.:sad2: They just stayed over head and poured for hours on us. Our friends were cramming everyone into the house. I felt bad for them but these are the chances you take with out door parties.

Continuing on......
A fun weekend with friends AND DIsney planning!! :cloud9: have FUN!

After the disaster on Sunday, I was trying to set up a time to sit down and talk Disney with our friends. To make a long story short, it never happened.:sad2: We finally decided to talk when we go out to Indiana in July. It is only 5 weeks away and its not like I can book ressies now or airfare. The only thing I am worried about is losing the house I like. If we do lose it then I guess it wasn't meant to be!

Another crazy thing happened to me. On Monday morning, I was sitting in the living room with Juliana and I hear a bang outside. I look out my window and my neighbors GMC Jimmy is driving across my front yard! I run outside and a pickup truck that was driving down my street crossed over the yellow line and hit the GMC that was parked in front of my neighbors house. It hit is so hard that the tranny must of blew out and it when across my front yard through my bushes and hit my Tahoe. My truck is still drive-able but it has a huge dent in the side of it. I have to pick up the police report tomorrow and get my insurance agent on the case to get it fixed.

Melody was shaken up because Juliana usually plays out in our driveway riding her bikes or coloring with chalk. It took her a while to calm down. One of the kids driving the pickup went to the hospital (very minor injuries) and the other one walked away. Hopefully I can get my truck fixed soon!

Ask for "Leff-suh"- accent on the first syllable, at the Akershus.

WOW! That's crazy about the accident on your street/driveway/yard! So happy no one was out!

We had some intense storms Sunday but they blew through pretty quick and we were able to head to our pool club for dinner.

Hey everyone. I have 2 more full weeks of crazy left. Then my life will be back to normal! We had another busy weekend! On Saturday morning we went to the Relay for Life and Juliana walked her first survivor lap. It was pretty emotional. Seeing people of all ages, sexes, and races walking the survivor lap just shows that cancer doesn't care about any of this stuff. It knows no boundaries. We stayed for a little while then I went to work but it the evening we went back for the luminary survivor lap. I thought the morning one was sad... this one was even worse. The whole track was lit up on both sides with luminaries with the names of survivors and people who have died. We purchased one for Juliana and my dad did too. Once I get the pics uploaded I'll post a few. We are thinking of getting our own team together for next year.

On Sunday we went to a party for all the cancer survivors from Juliana's hospital (CCMC) It was outside and set up like a big fair. She had such a great time. We met Miss Wolcott here. She informed us she is trying to have a Disney-themed kids fun day on our green in July to raise money for the Michael J. Fox Foundation.(trying to keep disney in my posts ;)) It is really great that they have these types of events for the kids that have been through he!!. There were some kids there who were going through treatment. It is so sad to see this... It makes you feel like going up to them and hugging them. It also brings back the memories of when Juliana was going through her treatments.

I'm gonna go try to find my camera and get a few pics on here.:)

Thanks to everyone for the kind words about the accident. I've been dealing with insurances agents that never return my calls and a truck that needs to get to an auto body shop to get an estimate. We are lucky that this did happen early in the morning where no one was outside. Cars can be fixed very easily...... I'm glad thats all we have to deal with. :goodvibes

Aw! Your Relay pictures are wonderful! Like I mentioned to you before, I started a team in our area because I lost my dad to cancer when I was young. I'm so glad you got to participate with Juliana as a SURVIVOR. I bet it was really emotional. The luminary lap gets me every time. It's such a special event and I'm glad you got to be a part of it :)

When we were walking the survivor lap in the morning everyone was lined around the track and clapping while the survivors walked. Juliana was just walking and waving to everyone. It was so cute.... and sad. She still doesn't understand the whole cancer thing. Sometimes after her bath she wants to see her 'line'.. thats what we named her scar across her belly. It is a daily reminder of what she had to go through.

How do you start a team? Is there a minimum $ amount that you have to raise?

Great pictures and what a great cause. :)

Thanks! I've been reading your PTR.. just having the time to post is tough..... I'm trying to keep up with all my TR's. LOL

All last week Melody kept telling Juliana that on Friday morning she would have no more diapers. Juliana seemed OK with the idea. So on Thursday night the 'potty fairy' came and took all her diapers and her changing pad. On Friday morning they were all gone. When Julian woke up.. it was on....well not exactly as planned. She didn't want to get out of the diaper she was wearing. It was like WW3 at our house. Melody is upset... Juliana screaming as loud as she could while I'm getting ready to leave for work.

I stayed home as long as I could but I was already running late... I had to leave. Once I got to work I called home and Mel got Juliana out of her diaper and into training underwear (Cloth inside with a plastic outside). And the screaming was over. (Thank God!) Well about 15 minutes later Juliana told Melody she had to go to the bathroom. She went on the potty and didn't want to wear the plastic underwear. She wanted her cool princess underwear. She went on the potty all day friday (including #2) with no accidents!:worship::worship:

Juliana had 2 accidents yesterday.... But she is still learning.

Now we need to try to figure out what to put on her at night. She has waken up wet the last 2 mornings. But HURRAY FOR ANA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:goodvibes:goodvibes:goodvibes

My 50D wasn't that much at all. But a 5D is probably that or more.

Yay on the potty training. We still do pullups at night. But lately she has been waking up dry, so I'm hoping that we soon will be out of that stage too. :cool2:

A lot of our schools have teams and since I'm a teacher, and my school didn't have one already, I decided to start one. Normally each area has a main website for their Relay. Here's ours http://main.acsevents.org/site/TR?pg=entry&fr_id=12881 There is always a link that says START A TEAM. Then you fill out your info and you can invite people to join online so you can fundraise online and in person. I always add our 'in person' fundraising money online, but normally they have a BANK DAY where you can take it to the ACS people and they will add it for you (it just takes longer than if you do it yourself.) There's no set amount to raise to have a team, at least not for ours. This is our third year, and our first year we only raised about $900, but I think that's great for a first try and every little bit helps :)

YIPPIE!!! :yay: I'm telling you, that is the main point with potty training. She's totally into it and she WANTS to wear her princess underwear! Plus, getting #2 accomplished on the first day is HUGE! Way to Go Melody for sticking with it and Way to Go Daddy for your support on the phone :banana:

The 50D I am looking at has 2 lenses with it.
http://www.costco.com/Browse/Product.aspx?Prodid=11477455&whse=BC&Ne=4000000&eCat=BC|79|83|1236&N=4001462&Mo=12&pos=3&No=0&Nr=P_CatalogName:BC&cat=1236&Ns=P_Price|1||P_SignDesc1&lang=en-US&Sp=C&ec=BC-EC10604-Cat83&topnav=

The 18-200mm lens is $600 if bought separately. I'm not sure which lenses I would even need.:confused3

We have to get her to have her milk with dinner instead of after. This way she isn't drinking too late and will be able to empty her bladder before going to bed.

Yay!!

Good job!

And good luck with the patience :)

It was bad while it was happening. But looking back 1 1/2 hours of screaming and crying wasn't that bad. LOL

It is SO much fun! We always have a big group with us. You set up a little campsite and usually they have some sort of theme so you can decorate your site. You can also do fundraising that day to add to your team's total, so people are always selling cookies, red bull, chips, hot dogs, etc... It's a lot of fun :)

I got the 28-135 mm one with mine. I think it goes for a couple hundred on it's own, so it was much cheaper to get it in the kit, but so far I'm not super impressed with the lens. I actually thought it was fualty and was going to send it back ,but since I rubbed the contacts with an eraser it's been better, but still not super sharp in my opinion.

I wonder why they pulled them off the website? maybe they were out of stock?

Juliana is too cute. What a big girl.
We've been having more luck with Claire lately and she is starting to wake up dry more often now. YAY!
She did however have an accident the other day. The first one ever. She was at the park with a friend, and I think she was afraid to ask to go, and she didn't think they had a bathroom there, and she came home wet. She was very embarrassed about it though and did NOT want to talk about it.

Juliana gets embarrassed too. She had to go the other day when my mother-in-law was watching her. Juliana didn't want her help and she couldn't get her shorts off. She ended up going #1 right on the bathroom floor. She started crying so hard.

That is great!! I remember I used to wish Myles was wearing diapers again.. its SO hard when your driving and they say, "I have to go.. Now!!" We have pulled to the side of the road many times!! One thing that may help her stay dry in the night is to take her to the bathroom right before you go to bed- she will be so tired, she probably will not even remember, but I did that with Myles and it seemed to keep him dry!!

OK well I've had another crazy week. Between work and trying to catch up on projects around the house, I've had no DIS time. After I get through this weekend everything should be back to 'normal'.

I missed my ticker turning from 100 to 99 (double digit dance time  :woohoo: :cheer2:) I'm kinda bummed about that:confused3...but I'll live. Well we (Melody & I) sat down tonight and discussed our ADR's. Disney is dropping the ball with not releasing the park schedules 3 months ahead of time. How are people supposed to plan when there are no schedules? (rant over)

But anyways this is what we came up with......
We have 5 nights/6 days. 5TS 5CS

Saturday- we arrive at MCO at 10:30am. No park today.

Lunch @POP
Dinner eating with Melody's cousin

Sunday- No park

We will be spending the day with Melody's cousin & family (baby's baptism) I am going to make a dinner ressie at 'Ohana just in case we need it.

Monday- MK

Kona Breakfast (might pay OOP depending if we use 'Ohana)
Peco's Bills Lunch (we might just split one meal)
Crystal Palace Dinner

Tuesday- No park morning. MNSSHP@4

Chef Mickey's Breakfast
Probably a snack for lunch
Cosmic Rays Dinner (cs)

Wednesday- HS

? for Breakfast
? Lunch
HoopDeDoo at 7:15

Thursday-AK

? Breakfast (maybe use some snack credits)
Flame Tree Lunch (cs)

Leave at 4:30pm for the airport

We are going to skip Epcot this time. I'm a little sad about this but it's aaight. We are only doing 2 character meals this time and no PRINCESSES??? I hope Juliana can live with that! LOL We will save some of those for our March trip. Thats it for now.

October 7th Wednesday- Hoop Dee Doo Review (first time)

We were thinking of maybe doing something for Thursday morning but we will have some table services left and this was supposed to be a money saving trip! (yeah rite! LOLOL)

We are leaving next Saturday (7/11) for our drive to Indiana to see our friends and get some March Disney planning done. So I doubt I will be DISing for a week or so.:goodvibes

Your ADR's look good!! I thought I read on here that you could do them at 5AM online... (maybe it was 6 AM actually!) I am way too much of a control freak to let my TA do them!! I had called the day before my 90 day mark and they let me book them!!?? I dont know why or how, I didnt question it... but I think I just got lucky... (It's worth a try though!!)

I hope everyone had a great weekend. Just want to update what went down with my ADRs. I emailed my TA with my list of ADRs on Saturday morning and by 11 she called my wife because I forgot to include a CC # (needed to book Hoop Dee Doo). DUH... I knew I needed one to hold it, why I didn't give it to her is beyond me. I'm glad she saw my email and called!!:thumbsup2 I told her if there were any problems with my ADRs to call me at anytime!

I worked all day on Saturday. I left the house at 9am and didn't get home to 12:15.... (what a great way to spend a holiday) By the time I went to bed it must of been close to 1am. My phone starts ringing at 6:10am.... its my TA. She couldn't get two of my requests... 'Ohana on Sunday night. No big deal.. the Sunday night ressie is basically a backup plan if we don't spend the whole day with Melody's family.

The second part is a mistake on my part. I wanted CP on Monday night around 5:30. The only opening was at 4:40. I thought that was a little early for dinner..(and I didn't think she booked it for me) then we started talking about Liberty Tree. She was talking about it for Sunday night.. while I thought she was talking about it for Monday night. (I hope you are all following this ....sorry:lmao:) So I asked her about trying CRT (meanwhile DW hears nothing but the CRT part)... it was booked for later on Monday. OK then we will stick with what we have. I really do appreciate her getting up early and doing this for us. (TA is a DISer too!)

I hung up the phone and honestly I was so tired I was trying to figure out all that had just happened. I couldn't comprehended it all and fell back to sleep.

DW let me sleep in a little bit and when I got up I tried to explain everything that went down. She said 'Are we eating in the castle?' I told her no but I can check online to see if there is anything available. There was on Monday night at 4pm (which I still think is early for dinner) She says to me 'Well we didn't book any princess meals for Juliana... lets book it!'

Then I started looking for Sunday night dinner. We didn't have a DTD time in our schedule so we started looking down there for dinner. I remember my2disneyboys TR. They ate at Raglan Rd. and it looked really good. Plus they have a great beer selection which is always a plus in my book. I checked to see if they had an opening at 7. They did... booked it.

After I added these two I went to check my email. TA sent me my ADRs on a speadsheet. Come to find out she did book CR for Monday at 4:40 and was trying to help me find an alternative for 'Ohana on Sunday!!!!!!! I was out of it when she called. So here is my booked list.. (as of now!)

Sunday night- Raglan Rd.
Monday morning- Kona
Monday night- CRT
Tuesday morning- Chef Mickey's
Wednesday night- Hoop Dee Doo

I hope this story isn't too confusing:confused3. I'm gonna post it then reread it all!!!

We did the CRt dinner too. It's really nice...but no princesses, just so you know. It's the Fariy Godmother and the two girl mice and they do a show, but don't come around for autographs. We knew that going in and were fine with it and Claire LOVED it. But I wanted to be sure you knew going in thats what it is.
Your ADR's sound great!

Yea I told DW before we booked it that there were no princesses at the meal.. just the meet & greet before. She was fine with it. I think Juliana princess: will get a kick out of seeing the mice and the Fairy Godmother. I didn't realize they don't come to your table though... hummmmm interesting... who knows maybe we'll end up at 1900 Park Fair or something instead! LOLOL

I think, despite the confusion, they all look really good! You're going to have a great time. I'm really super excited for your Hoop de Doo ressie, though. YOU"RE GOING TO LOVE IT!!!!!

The kids and I had an amazing time. If you want more pix, go to my April report and read about it. It was one of our first days, and is linked.

Anyway, glad your TA took care of it for ya.

I read your April TR. I am excited for the HDDR! I also read some of your great suggestions that I will post here:

(Taken from all7ofus)

Okay, now for the what-I'd-do differently- next-time feature...

1) If you are staying off-site, or even just need to travel around Orlando, DON"T forget your quarters for those d*mned toll roads. How stressful to get to a toll booth and be out of them! Luckily, I has stashed a bunch in my purse for pressed pennies!

2) Be flexible and patient with those who are inept, or didn't do the research you thought they would do. Enjoy where you are (even if you aren't where you thought you'd be at that given time)- it's easy to do in Disney, because there is something new to discover at every turn.

(I AGREE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

3) Don't always rely on the restaurant board's reviews to make your choices of meals. There were loads of bad reviews about HDDR regarding the food; but it turned out to be great. We chose our meals for the theming and were pleasantly surprised about the food!

Looks good Tim! CRT is so cool!

We did lunch there last October... we are looking forward to dinner!

Hi - nice to meet you! I found your link from reading Jenseib's report and wanted to say hello.

Looks like you guys check in the day we leave! :yay: I booked our ADR's on the 30th and it was tough! I got most of what I wanted and in the end, I'm happy. Your ADR's look great and looks like you're well rounded! We ate at CRT in Nov 08 for dinner and loved it. I have a DS so missing the princesses didn't bother us and although the pace was fast at times with the mice, they did stop long enough at our table for me to take a picture with my DS. I was quick though! It was a great experience and really sweet too.

Your family is beautiful and I can't imagine what it was like with your darling daughter and the health issues. What a trooper you ALL are and glad to know how well she's doing. :) I'm looking forward to hearing more about your trip and seeing your pictures!

I forgot to tell you...for dinner at CRT here's what happens:

you check in
get in line...meet/take pic with Cinderella-they give you the picture during the meal, which is included!
wait for your name to be called
get seated
while eating, the Fairy Godmother and the mice come out..she's hilarious! She sings some songs while she and the mice walk around the room...she has you count and on 3 there's a little light show.

Seriously, Juliana will love it!

I forgot to mention that part too....the Mice did a VERY quick stop for a picture, but be ready, I could barely get my camera up and htey were on there way again. I have heard the FG will sometimes stop, but for the most part, she doesn't. I had a hard time getting her picture.
If you remember from my TR, we did meet Cindy and and a wonderful extra meet with her as well. She was really great, and the picture was nice too. She does sign your book as well.

On Sunday we went to play Mini-golf. For some reason we have never taken Juliana. She loved it. For the first few holes I was helping her and on the second hole we hit a hole in one!!!! It was so funny.. she has this thing instead of saying 'SCORE' she says 'SCORN'. She has been saying this ever since she was little and we don't correct her. Maybe it is because ever time she says it we are reminded of when she was a baby. Anyways......

After the fourth hole she wanted to do it all by herself. (I was shocked she let me help this long) On the 13th hole she hit her own hole in one. We were all jumping around saying SCORN! LOLOL Here are a few pics from Sunday.

Juliana on the practice hole. (Disney related.. look at her crocs. You will see Princess gibits! LOLOL)

Today we took the boat out. It was a nerve-racking morning. We were about 3/4 of the way there when the truck started shaking really bad. I looked in my side view mirror and I can see a tire on the trailer shaking really bad. I was slowing down looking for a place to pull over and I was on a curve with hardly any shoulder with cars, trucks, and tractor-trailers flying by at 65+ mph. We called the state police and got out of the truck and moved away about 100 yards. I wasn't going to try to mess with anything until the police got there.

The State Police finally arrived and we decided I needed to move the truck & boat about 400 yards to get to a straight-a-way. In the meantime, Melody's mom arrived and took Melody and Juliana with her off the highway. (thank god that she was meeting us to go on the boat). Then a road service truck showed up and help change the trailer tire(I had a spare). I remember hitting a pothole about 3 miles prior(good ol' CT highways) and it must of messed up the tire. When the tired came off it was destroyed. The steel belt inside of it must of snapped. We were done then I was off to the lake which was only another 10 minutes away.

After this fiasco, it was nice being out on the lake relaxing and getting a little sun(yes there actually was a sunny day here in CT) Here are a few pics from the day.

Juliana and her mini-mouse bathing suit.

Just saw you posted the same time as I did. What a cutie in those boat pics. We've been there with the flat tire on a trailor. We tractor pull and I think we've had two flats of our own and then once helped another fellow puller whne they had that problem on the highway too. It sure can be scary sitting along the side.

One of my sons used to say "fourth head" for forehead, and one of my daughters used to say "limbo" for limo and of course we still say them that way today!

Loved the boating pics, Juliana's pictures in the water especially are too cute, she's so photogenic - you all three are but especially your princess!

Boy, I sure didn't expect you to post until you got back. Glad to hear it all going great, but you'd better break out that computer before time slips away! We all want to hear all that was planned when you get back!

I'll be getting to that..... Very shortly;)

It was 1 week ago when we loaded up the truck for our trek to Indiana. I worked Saturday till 5, got home about 5:45, then finished loading up the truck. We had a fast dinner then we were off. By the time we stopped for gas and got on the highway it was around 7:20. We stopped a few times for potty breaks and coffee(for Mel). We hits ome very heavy rain around Wilkes Barre, PA. At one point I was following behind a car going 30 in a one lane construction zone for 10 miles. :scared1: I wanted to scream!!!!! (As I stated earlier driving through PA is the worst!!!!!!) Juliana woke up a few times crying and she needed to get out of the car seat. We stopped at 2AM in Clarion, PA and stayed at a decent hotel. It was nice, but we were basically there to sleep. Juliana woke up at 7:45 (she is our personal alarm clock!) and got ready to start driving again. After another gas stop we hit the highway for the second leg of our trip.

Clarion is about 1 hour from the Ohio boarder. I went to Ohio once before when I was a kid.. i really don't remember it all that well. It took us about 4 1/2 hours to cross Ohio.... then we saw the 'Welcome to Indiana' sign! We arrived at our friends house about 3:30. The kids were so happy to see each other! Dave & Branda made a nice steak dinner for us then we went for a walk to work off dinner and to feed the ducks!

http://i391.photobucket.com/albums/oo351/djtimbct/Indiana%20Trip/DSC05698.jpg

The sun didn't set until 9:30 out there and it finally gets dark around 10! It is really weird! We finally got the kids to bed and the 'adults' hung out having a few cocktails.:goodvibes

That sounds like a grueling drive! Yikes!

Glad you made it though, and could relax some in the afternoon. Although feeding the ducks CAN be stressful, if they have an attitude. Some that we've fed think they own the world AND whatever's in your hand. (Maybe your hand, too)

Looking forward to seeing what you did during the week! Especially those plans you all made.

They are so cute!! Holding hands! I missed some of this...are they related? Or are these just friends of you guys?

Maybe I should do what you did and write in different colors for different trips? :rotfl:

I'll recap who they are: (stolen from post 1!!! 4/8/09 LOLOLOL)

Spring trip- DW Melody, DD3 Juliana, Me Tim & our friends Dave, Branda, Victoria (3), Alex (2)
Spring Trip- 1st or 2nd week of March
Spring Trip- Thinking of renting a house

* Reasons for going? Our spring trip was being discussed for at least 6-8 months. Our friends moved last year from Connecticut to Indiana. We get to see them every few months when they come back to CT. We also have a summer trip planned to drive out and see them in Indiana. Our daughters are only 1 month apart in age and they love each other. Both Juliana and Victoria love the princesses. Juliana's favorite is Cinderella and Victoria's favorite is Belle. We have traveled with Dave & Branda many times before we had kids. They love to have a good time and when we are all together LOOK OUT! They have never been to Disney before and since we haven't traveled with them in a while, what better place to go?

When I woke up Monday I was feeling a little under the weather. (drastic understatement!!!!LOLOL) Dave was doing work in his office and Melody, Branda, and I (OK mostly Mel and Branda) were getting the kids ready to goto the zoo. The kids played outside for a little while before we left.

http://i391.photobucket.com/albums/oo351/djtimbct/Indiana%20Trip/DSC05705.jpg

We got on the road about 1 and headed for the Indianapolis Zoo!!!!!

http://i391.photobucket.com/albums/oo351/djtimbct/Indiana%20Trip/DSC05707.jpg

It was a nice zoo and I was telling Dave & Branda how AK is kinda like the zoo but with rides! LOL There were many Disney references today. The kids had a blast.

Finally, some unfettered time on the computer! Maybe I can catch up on everyone's threads :)

Maybe I'm wierd... but I LOVE the komodo dragons. They are so cool! If I'm not mistaken, there are some at AK, right. To let you in on a little secret, I"ve never been on the trails there; there was just never time to explore like I'd like to. Hence, part of our upcoming trip is to slow down and "smell the roses" so to speak. I can't wait to go on all the little rabbit hole trails at AK and take lots of pictures- again, maybe I"m weird, but I"m really looking forward to seeing the bats!

Isn't it fun to have best friends like that?? We've travelled MANY times with LeeAnn's family (mostly camping) and are so much alike it's scary. OUr families love each others' company, so I know our trip will be so fun- like yours to Disney! Good friendships are such a blessing!

After the zoo, we headed back to the house for dinner. On the ride, Juliana and Alex passed out in the car while Victoria just relaxed. After dinner, the kids played outside for a while while we cleaned up. It must of been at least 9:30 by the time we got them to bed and it was still light out!! Then the adults had time to unwind and relax! While it was so hot during the day, after the sun went down it got cold quick!

Tuesday morning came very quickly! No matter what time Juliana goes to bed she is up around 7:15..... today was no exception! While everyone was sleeping upstairs, Juliana and I went downstairs. Dave was already gone.. he was on the road with appointments all day. I got her milk and she watched some cartoons. I turned on my computer and did what you ask???? Jumped onto the DIS!!! LOL I tried to catch up on what was going on but some how I missed Maroo's TR updates (sorry!!! LOLOL:lmao:)

I started to hear some stirring upstairs around 9:30 so I started to make breakfast for everyone. We had scrambled eggs, hash browns, english muffins, fruit, and OJ. After breakfast the kids played while we cleaned up, then we got ready to goto the pool.

There was the main pool and a kids pool. The kids were having a blast playing and they even made friends with a few little girls that were playing there too.

Kids playing.

http://i391.photobucket.com/albums/oo351/djtimbct/Indiana%20Trip/DSC05769.jpg

After playing in the kids pool for a while, the kids wanted to go into the big pool. They got to try out their floats and they didn't want to get out.

http://i391.photobucket.com/albums/oo351/djtimbct/Indiana%20Trip/DSC05787.jpg

We finally were able to get the kids out... then we headed back to the house for lunch. We hung out at the house for the rest of the day.

Finally Dave got home from work and we piled everyone into the car... we were going to go out for dinner. But first another pic!

http://i391.photobucket.com/albums/oo351/djtimbct/Indiana%20Trip/DSC05794.jpg

I was joking that we traveled 800 miles from the East Coast to Indiana to eat seafood?:confused3 Everything we ordered was good! We had a feast.... Lobster bisque, shrimp wrapped in bacon w/ BBQ sauce, artichoke w/ crab dip... just for appetizers! I needed someone to carry me out of the restaurant!

After Dinner.

http://i391.photobucket.com/albums/oo351/djtimbct/Indiana%20Trip/DSC05801.jpg

It was getting late so we headed back to the house to get the kids ready for bed..... Then it was time for the adult to hang!!!:drinking1 :drinking: :drinking1A couple that lives 3 houses down from Dave & Branda stopped over for a while. It was nice to meet people that they are friends with out there.

Holy Crow, you're online, and it must be midnight there! What are you doing up? Reading my PTR, I'm sure! HA!

What an amazing day! The pool time looks like so much fun! And that dinner sounds completely amazing!!! Amazing I tell you! I ADORE seafood! IN fact, I'm seriously thinking about going to Fultons at DTD during our trip next year. We get absolutely ZERO seafood here, and I miss it so, so much!

Your evening sounds, ummm colorful. MJ was a hit, as always, and by the looks of your ingredients, it looks like you were having something they would thoroughly enjoy here in Blank-a-Stan. The Soviets did a very good job at turning most Central Asians into blathering alcoholics with their Vodka. I prefer a "nommy" rum drink, as TK would say.

Okay, here's the deal. Remember I said the faithful comrades would be justly rewarded for performing their duties of participation in my pre-amble??

Here's a bit of inside (but as yet confidential) info.

It's come to a toss up between Fultons and Earl on our arrival day. Here's my plan...

If we can get to DTD before 3:00 we hit up Fultons for the lunch (and therefore cheaper) menu. And get SCALLOPS! I'd die for some right now!

If we can't swing it, and get there after the 3:00 hard stop, I'll pig out on the Original at Earls.

It's a hard choice. I"ve had Earls- and LOVE Earls, but sincerely want to try Fultons. It looks so pretty out on the water, and it's seafood. Need I say more on that front?

So there you have it. Thanks for the picture. It looks divine! You could sway me doing stuff like that!

Here, here! I say an amendment is in order.

You know, a lot of us joke about laughing out loud, waking the kids up with snorts etc..., or spitting coke on our screens. Seriously, it's been a long time since I've REALLY LOL- maybe since I read an update from Mrs. The King, but this made me crack up--- out loud! After the kids were in bed we moved on out to the deck with our cocktails.

http://i391.photobucket.com/albums/oo351/djtimbct/Indiana%20Trip/DSC05814.jpg

I knew this was a bad idea. When I start playing a game I want to play till the game is over. Well with all the consumption going on, I knew this wasn't going to last long. The girls were chatting and not paying attention. Then some how Britney 'Branda' Spears showed up.

http://i391.photobucket.com/albums/oo351/djtimbct/Indiana%20Trip/DSC05815.jpg

Of course there were more drinks being made.....

http://i391.photobucket.com/albums/oo351/djtimbct/Indiana%20Trip/DSC05810.jpg

http://i391.photobucket.com/albums/oo351/djtimbct/Indiana%20Trip/DSC05811.jpg

The Monopoly game came to an end... because Dave and I couldn't take it anymore. LOLOL:rotfl: That's when the trouble started. We had no other outlet to curb our enthusiasm (drunkness) that Dave and I started wrestling.

http://i391.photobucket.com/albums/oo351/djtimbct/Indiana%20Trip/DSC05817.jpg

Branda wanted some too!

http://i391.photobucket.com/albums/oo351/djtimbct/Indiana%20Trip/DSC05818.jpg

Then, with my back turned, Branda tackled me and everyone jumped on me.

http://i391.photobucket.com/albums/oo351/djtimbct/Indiana%20Trip/DSC05819.jpg

After we pealed ourselves off the floor, thats when the pillows started flying. Branda hit my head with a pillow and her hand must of hit my head as well. The next day she couldn't even move her pinky.... it was swollen and black & blue. We all calmed down and kept the party moving...

A few non-flattering pics of me. LOL:rotfl2:

http://i391.photobucket.com/albums/oo351/djtimbct/Indiana%20Trip/DSC05825.jpg

http://i391.photobucket.com/albums/oo351/djtimbct/Indiana%20Trip/DSC05828.jpg

The night continued and ended around 2 for the girls and 3:45 for Dave and I !

There it is in a nutshell. I hope i don't get flamed for this!!!!! :lmao: :rotfl: :goodvibes

I said a while back that I would post a few pics of MNSSHP from our October 2008 trip. (This was before my DIS days!!!) Melody's mom came with us and we stayed offsite in a condo. Juliana wanted to be Cinderella and Melody and her mom wore Halloween shirts and I just wore an orange t-shirt.. until I bought my MNSSHP tee! LOL:rotfl: When we go this year, Melody and I are both wearing costumes... I just don't know what I'm going to be?:confused3:confused3

Whoa! It's freaky how MJ got around! In the fireplace, on Branda's shoulder; man can that guy move!

Pillow fights? How totally immature! And so totally fun!!!! The only flame is: Why on earth would anyone try to play Mono. when drunk?? I can't even win when I'm sober. Give me a good game of Scrabble though... mmm, hmmm... that's where it's at. Have you ever heard of Settlers?? That's MY game!

So, no idea on costumes yet?? gotta see those!

One time many years ago, Melody and I we tried to play scrabble after having a few and let me say it didn't turn out to well.... unless you like to play scrabble with all 3 & 4 letter words.LOLOLOLOL

I don't think I've ever hear of Settlers?:confused3

I'm not sure what we are going to be. Juliana says she wants to be Tinker Bell.. but I know when it comes down to it she will want to be Cinderella again! LOL

On a serious note......

I probably won't be on here much, if at all, this weekend. I have to work today and tomorrow. Sunday is Melody's birthday so I'll probably only check in at some point.

On Monday morning, Juliana has her 3 month scans. She needs an ultrasound and x-ray then after that she has her oncology appointment. She has been complaining recently about pains in her abdomen. We think it has to do with her being more aware of her body. We think it is gas pains and pressure from her holding her pee until she relieves herself. We are hopeful this is all it is. I think we are a little more stressed (worried) about going on Monday than we normally are. If you don't mind keep Juliana in your thoughts that everything will be OK.:goodvibes

We will certainly do that! How utterly stressful it must be to just not know! But at least she can tell you when something's "not right" now. PLEASE let us know how things turn out!! We all really DO care and want to know!

BTW, Settlers is a European game a bit like Risk and a little like Monopoly (only vaguely) where you gather "resources" to build settlements, roads and cities. We really like it.

I'd like to thank you all for the kind words and of thinking of Juliana. I hate the waiting for results and the unknown is always the scariest. I will feel better once we get the results to her tests.

I think with a 8 month old? and a 2 year old you would be fine missing it. Juliana didn't even make it to the 9pm fireworks... but she was also awake from 5am with no nap. We went to the party on our arrival day. We are going to relax on our MNSSHP day and hopefully she will make it a lot later this year.

Hey everyone!

We are home. All scans were clear and Juliana's blood work came back normal too. Her oncologist also took a urine sample after we told him about Juliana's random abdominal pain, which came back clean. He agrees with us that he thinks it is just her noticing her body more. He said if her pain gets worse to call him. We will see him in 3 months for another x-ray and ultrasound. She won't need a CAT scan till January.

Thanks to all for thinking of Juliana (and us!)

We have stayed on property once. (in March 09) We are staying at POP this October. There are pluses and minuses to both. But for the FULL Disney experience, staying on property is better IMO. :)

I got to sleep in a bit on Wednesday morning.... after Tuesday night I needed it! When I got up (about 9:45) it was thundering and raining. Dave was already gone! He had a few appointments on the road. We were trying to figure out our game plan. Branda and Melody started talking about Disney store discounts.... then they wanted to goto the Disney store at the mall. So we got the kids ready, piled them in the car, and headed to the mall. We got lunch there then went to the Disney store. We got Juliana a 2 towels (6.99 each), 3 pairs of sunglasses (1.60 each), 4 pairs of flipflops (1.99 each) and some other random stuff.

http://i391.photobucket.com/albums/oo351/djtimbct/Indiana%20Trip/DSC05843.jpg

Victoria and Alex bought Juliana a cup and Juliana bought the kids bouncy baseballs.

http://i391.photobucket.com/albums/oo351/djtimbct/Indiana%20Trip/DSC05844.jpg

We headed back to the house. Dave got home just before we did and he was already in his office on the phone. That guy must talk about 5-6 hours a day on his phone! LOLOL

We had a great dinner. The kids played outside while the girls cleaned up. Then we went back to feed the ducks again. Got the kids to bed and the girls went out for a while. Dave and I had a few beers but after Tuesday night we were kind of shot! We went to bed about 12:30. Thursday was going to be another fun filled day.

I went, I browsed, I left. Nothing really tempted me, I guess cuz I'm not really a power shopper. I like to window shop and browse, but rarely buy unless I have something specifically in mind.

Store that away for future reference.

On Wednesday night we all got some much needed sleep! Juliana was up again at 7am (what else is new?), so we went downstairs to watch TV. Dave was already awake and on the phone in his office. We watched TV for a while till everyone woke up. We had breakfast then got ready to go.... we were going to the Indianapolis Children's Museum. We stopped for lunch, then headed over to the museum.

The kids had so much fun. They had a tiny aquarium. The girls found 'Nemo'! Here they are in their matching dresses. LOL

http://i391.photobucket.com/albums/oo351/djtimbct/Indiana%20Trip/DSC05852.jpg

They also had a screen where you can dress up and dance around and it looked like you were underwater. Juliana didn't want to dress up but Victoria was a lobster!

http://i391.photobucket.com/albums/oo351/djtimbct/Indiana%20Trip/DSC05860.jpg

There was also a mini submarine the kids checked out.

http://i391.photobucket.com/albums/oo351/djtimbct/Indiana%20Trip/DSC05861.jpg

The museum had 5 floors, each with different types of exhibits. There was a Formula 1 race car that all the kids sat in.

http://i391.photobucket.com/albums/oo351/djtimbct/Indiana%20Trip/DSC05863.jpg

There was a whole section about Egypt. When you walked in it was like being in Egypt. It was set up like a modern day town. It felt like I was in a country in the world showcase! On the top floor there was a carousel... Juliana had to ride it. She loves them!!

http://i391.photobucket.com/albums/oo351/djtimbct/Indiana%20Trip/DSC05868.jpg

I had to show off my hula-hooping skills.

Thursday was one of the hottest days of the trip. Once we were back at the house, the girls started making dinner and Dave and I set up the slip-n-slide for the kids. They were a little tentative at first, but once they figured it out they had a blast!

http://i391.photobucket.com/albums/oo351/djtimbct/Indiana%20Trip/DSC05885.jpg

http://i391.photobucket.com/albums/oo351/djtimbct/Indiana%20Trip/DSC05896.jpg

When the kids were done playing in the slip-n-slide, Dave and I ran out to get some sushi. I've had sushi once before and I liked it. He was telling me about this restaurant that makes really good sushi.. so we decided to get some to have as an appetizer before dinner.

After dinner, Dave set up the fireplace... we were going to have 'smores for dessert!

http://i391.photobucket.com/albums/oo351/djtimbct/Indiana%20Trip/DSC05903.jpg

After 'smores we got the kids ready for bed. The girls made martini's and the guys had a few Coronas. Then some how the girls started doing shots? I think those martinis went straight to their heads. LOLOL:lmao:

We finally had our Disney talk. We firmed up our dates. We will be renting a house from March 6-14th. We decided on a house (I still haven't put the deposit on it... hopefully I'll get that squared away today). Although I'd like to stay in a Disney hotel, we will have more fun staying in a house. We are going to fly down a few days early... probably March 3rd and visit with Melody's grandparents again. Dave and Branda are going to drive. It is about a 15 hour drive from where they live.

We talked about park tickets.. they didn't realize how expensive they are. I told them about undercover tourist and I think a 6-7 day base ticket is the way for them to go. I'm sure we will take 1 or 2 days of no parks on our trip. We also discussed a few places that we want to eat. Chef Mickey's (d), 1900 Park Fair (d), Crystal Palace (l or d), and Akershus (b or d) were discussed. A few princess meals and a few other meals (poor Alex is out numbered!!! LOLOL) for the kids. I don't think we will be eating too many TS in the parks. Having a house I think we will be cooking breakfast mostly there. Although Melody and I are planning on hitting Kona breakfast as well.. don't know if they will come or not.

We started talking about a tentative schedule... but we didn't get too far. We have plenty of time to talk about that. I know Saturday (6th) we won't be going to a park.. plus they will have been driving for a while. So Sunday(?) will be our first park day. I'm sure it will be MK because that's DISNEY!!!!! I'm not sure if they will goto a park on Sunday the 14th.. I think they will have to start driving home. We will hit the park one more day till our flight home Sunday evening.

We talked about other random Disney stuff but the girls martinis and shots started kicking in. We were out by the fire for a while then it started raining lightly. We moved inside and MJ was wondering where we were. He was already having a beer.

http://i391.photobucket.com/albums/oo351/djtimbct/Indiana%20Trip/DSC05913.jpg

We stayed up till about 2 talking and drinking. Melody and I had to call it a night. We weren't looking forward to our 13 hour drive home.

On Friday we woke up, had breakfast, and packed the car. We hit the road for our ride back to CT. We drove straight through because I had to work all day on Saturday. We hit some very heavy rain and it took us 14 hours to finally be home.

It was really sad saying goodbye. We had a great week with our friends and the kids had so much fun together. We really miss our friends and we can't wait to see them in October and then again in December. After December the next time we would see them is in March!!!!:earsboy:

That place looks fun. We used to have a place kind of like that here, but it shut down. Not enough funds to keep it going.

Hey we posted at the same time!!!!! LOLOL

Thats too bad. No one ever want to pay more taxes or pay too much to go to a museum.. but when it's gone everyone misses it.

I think I read somewhere that the Indy Children's Museum is one of the country's largest children's museums.

Yes and we got some of the major planning out of the way. Thank goodness. It was much easier doing it face to face.

Soooo.... was it really good sushi??

Yes it was good. We ordered some California rolls, a shrimp roll, and a couple dragon rolls. I tried a piece of the dragon roll and I wasn't a fan of it. Only Branda likes the dragon! LOLOL This was Melody's second time trying sushi. She tried a piece of the California and she didn't like it. I am actually shocked she doesn't like sushi. She eats everything... I'm usually more picky.:confused3

Dragon Roll- Crab Special Roll topped w/ eel, eel sauce & sesame seeds

You can order the eel cooked or raw. Branda wanted it cooked.

Hey you have to crawl before you can walk. I'm shocked I even like this at all! LOLOL

I would try a tuna roll. HUMMMMMMM where do they serve sushi in Disney???????? Couldn't be in Epcot could it?:confused3

No, no PTR report for me...I swear, I can't keep up with the ones I read! :) :rotfl2: I might do one when we return because I do love pictures and usually take at least 900 per trip so we'll see...

The Children's Museums are usually very cool. We're lucky enough to have one here where we live and my son loves it. Great pictures of the kids - you can tell they had a blast!

I absolutely love your house you guys picked out! The Disney rooms are super cute and you all are going to have such a great time. I know, it's nice and fun to stay onsite but I understand completely why you went this route. It has it's advantages too so you'll have to let us know about it. I would definitely do this if traveling with family/friends like you are.

We're going next month!!! You're right behind us.... :cool1:

I liked writing my TR..... It was like living the trip all over again. I think I finished it in a week or so. I probably could of dragged it out longer!! LOLOLL

I've looked all over the internet trying to find the perfect house for our trip. I've also received over 70 emails from available houses. (this is not an exaggeration!!! I filled out two forms- one on VBRO.com and another one) This house is in Windsor Palms- which by my estimation, is under 15-20 minutes to the parks. Not too bad.

I'm sure I'll take plenty of pictures. I hope everything works out to plan!

We also have picked up some new people on the way too! To those who haven't posted in a while.... time to stop in and say HI!!!!!!!:wave2:

I'm here :thumbsup2 We were in WDW from June 28-July 5. Then I went to spend 2 weeks in PA visiting my mom. My husband came up to get me and to visit for a while and he ended up getting pneumonia and we had to stay another week because he wasn't allowed to travel. Needless to say, we just got back a week ago and I've been catching up on everything. I'm still catching up on your PTR and I'm at the point of the boat trip. :woohoo: I was able to upgrade my ticket for an AP last trip & it was pretty exciting!! Makes the magic seem that much more in our grasp!

My ticker is at 60 days!!!!!!! Our trip is coming fast!!!!!!

I'm still trying to figure out if I should upgrade DW & DD to AP's too? I bought them 10 day NE passes. I would have to pay more OP when doing the upgrade. I bought myself an 8 day NE WP&M ticket. With the new pricing and AP upgrade, I will save about $70 on my ticket alone!! The new pricing for this ticket is $525. I payed $451. New AP price is $521.

The reason I'm going AP is we are going to be in the parks 9 or 10 days in our trips. But I wonder if I could fit in another trip before my AP runs out?:scratchin When we go in March I will save another $80 or so in parking alone!

I got an email last night from UT saying my tickets have shipped!!! They are also honoring last years pricing too! Every day our trip is just that much closer!!!:cool1::woohoo:

Since I'm under 60 days, our trip is just around the corner! It's time for me to start focusing on all things Disney. (like I wasn't doing that already!) This is my first PTR and I really have had no direction. I guess I've been treating this like a blog more than a PTR. So I'm looking for your opinions.

I've always wanted to try Teppan Edo. I think the main thing that has held us back is having a 2/3 year old daughter who doesn't eat things that she is not used to. She is getting much better with that though. We aren't eating there in October either, but maybe I can try to fit it in to our March plans.

If any of you followed me over here from my TR you know that I love Kona breakfast. It has become a mini-tradition. We are going there in October and we will go there in March too!

So tell me..........
Where is a restaurant on property where you haven't eaten but always wanted to try? Is there any restaurant that you have to go to each trip?

Hmmm, the one I have to go to every time would be Columbia Harbour House , but that's CS. If it were a table service, I'd say, ?? I guess I'm not so much into going back to the same place all the time. I always want to have something different.

One that I've always wanted to try? Biergarten! Now that looks fun! Sanaa looks intriguing to me too, but I just finished reading a review that was awful! Now I"m not so sure. Apparently, the sauces and spices are dumbed down so much that the food barely resembles Indian or African.

To answer your 'question of the day,' we have always wanted to try WCC, but have heard such mixed reviews so we're hesitant. The place we always try to go is Ohana, but we can't always get to it, so our EVERY time place would be the Main Street Bakery ;)

Here I go quoting myself again! LOL

I can't do every park tonight but I will start with MK... this can be a good question to ask ppl too!

Adventureland

Swiss family treehouse- did it once will probably do it again in oct
Aladdin Carpets- DD loves this. Probably do it 4-5 times
Tiki Room- Did it before.... probably won't do it this time
Jungle Cruise- We do this a few times each trip... Oct won't be an exception! LOL:rotfl:
POTC- Juliana didn't want anything to do with this in March.. I'll try to talk her into it this time.

Frontierland

WDW Railroad- We haven't done this... We will be riding it in OCT!!!!
SM- I'm not sure if Juliana can do this. We might just sip it if there are long lines
Big Thunder Mountain- I will be riding this!
Tom Sawyer Island- We did this last OCT... don't know if we will do this.
Country Bear Jamboree- We did this last trip and we liked it... Little old fashion.. but still fun

Liberty Square

Hall of Presidents- It was closed last time. We will check it out.
Riverboat- Never rode this either. I see a trip on this in my near future! LOL
Haunted Mansion- Took Juliana on this at last year MNSSHP. She was scared. Don't know if I will press my luck again. DW & I will probably just take turns.

A lot of the same on my list. See a good thing about going sans kids is that you can do all the "boring" rides that you haven't done in years cuz you don't have to please them. (Although, they did sit through the HoP to please me last time). The Liberty Belle, Train, etc...

Hey by the way, speaking of the train, did you know:

If you talk to the guy standing at the beginning of the line for the train and ask him if you can have Julianna be the "guest conductor" they will give her a card to present to the loader guys. She (and you maybe-not sure on this) can sit in the back and she'll get to say, "All Aboard!", and be the conductor of the ride.

My kids got to do this, and it's one of their most special memories.

Oh yeah, and the Columbia Harbor House is across from the HM entrance. I like it because it has some things that are a little different than your ordinary burgers and dogs.

Continuing on with my MK list.....

Fantasyland

Small World- We will probably go on this 3-4 times. Juliana loves it.
Peter Pan- We will do this at least once. The line always seems so long. We usually FP this.
PhilharMagic- We will probably do this once
Snow White's Scary Adventures- We haven't done this yet. Melody has heard it could be scary for little ones. I might send her on it to check it out and see if Juliana would be OK on it.
Story time with Belle- We did this last October and it was cute. I think we will do this again
Cinderella's Carousel- I can't count how many times we will do this! LOL:rotfl:
Dumbo- 1-2 times depending how long the lines are.
Ariel's Grotto- We haven't waited to see Ariel. This has already been discussed.... we are waiting this time! (hopefully not more than 1 hour!!:scared1:)
Pooh's Playful Spot- It is a nice place to let Juliana blow off some steam.
Winnie the Pooh- 2-3 times over 2 days sounds about right!
Tea Party- 3-4 times of Juliana spinning us as fast as possible.

Toontown

Minnie & Mickey's house- We will stop in as long as Mickey or Minnie aren't there. We will see them at Chef Mickey's and at AK.
Hall of Fame Tent- If our princess princess:wants to see the princesses or the Fairies then I'll be waiting in that line too!
Donald's Boat- ??? If it's hot might be nice to cool off here.
Barnstormer- Most likely not going to happen.

Tomorrowland

Speedway- I don't think I will waste my time here.
SM- Hopefully it will be open when we go. I will ride this by my self.
Astro Orbiter- We have never rode this. This is on my to do list for October.
TTA- Don't tell Tink.. we have never rode this either! :sad2: I feel ashamed! This is a must do!!!
Carousel of Progress- Has been closed on our 3 trips. (i think?)
Buzz Lightyear- Geez we haven't done this. It seems like we are going to spend some time in Tomorrowland.
Stitch- Haven't done this and I don't think we are going to. This could be the worst attraction ever!!
Monster's INC- We saw this for the 1st time in March. We liked the show. We will probably watch this again.

So there is my wrap up of MK. Next up DHS. (Maybe tomorrow LOLOL)

We asked the guy standing near the kids' playground near Splash Mountain, but I hear you can do this at any of the stations.

Now, onto your list for the rest of MK:

You can't miss on anything in Fantasyland. Knock yourselves out!

Better spend a little more time in Tom.L. you haven't done half of the fun stuff there!! TTA, baby! (And remember, you have a dare waiting for you there...)

Look for PUSH in tomland too. He's a riot.

Waiting for your next post,

that's nice

Waiting for your next post,

PUSH is one of Juliana's favorites!!! I wonder if she will be talking to every trash can this time too. ACTUALLY this just popped into my empty head LOOLOL, when we were at the Indy Zoo they had the same type of trash cans as they do in Disney. Juliana was saying 'Hi' to them again. She stopped on her own after the 3rd one. Mel and I were laughing.

I remember your dare. Picture of the feet on the TTA! I ned to make a list of all the 'cute' things I need to do on this trip!:rotfl:

OK PEOPLE!

After looking at my MK list, now I'm wondering.:scratchin

What rides/attractions have you missed while at any of the parks?

Obviously I've missed quite a bit in Tommorowland.:sad2::rolleyes1

TTA- Don't tell Tink.. we have never rode this either! :sad2: I feel ashamed! This is a must do!!!

TIM! You HAVE to ride this one..even Juliana will like it..You might have to hold her hand during the dark parts..I remember doing that with my parents when we were younger and I'd grab their arms until we made it out of the dark parts.

I think Juliana would like Donald's Boat..especially if there's not a lot of other kids playing in it. Sometimes it gets way too crowded in there from what I've seen as we've gone by it.

Um..let's see...

We didn't do Astro Orbiter this trip. The line is always long and I hate the elevator ride going up/down!

We also skipped the Enchanted Tiki Birds. Never have liked that one!

At AK, we missed some of the trails. I wanted to do them and then we never got around to it!

We also skipped that Birds of Flight show (I can't remember the real name).

At DHS, we skipped Star Tours. Mom, Dad, and Sis can't ride that one because they get motion sickness and I hate riding it because I hate being closed in!

We also missed the Muppets, 3D! I can't believe we forgot to do that one!

At Epcot, we skipped Mission Space. No thanks!

I remember seeing the TTA going through SM. I really don't know why we haven't rode it.:confused3 Luckily Juliana isn't scared of the dark!

I don't think it is possible to hit every ride. You'd go crazy trying to get on everything!

Phew, I need to get caught up again.

First, you were talking about food! :worship: I think Sci-Fi in DHS will be a regular for us every trip because my DH and DS just love it. This trip we're trying a few new places out and not overdoing it. I think we're only repeating Sci-Fi and Coral Reef and TREX. We're trying for the first time, 'Ohana for breakfast, The Plaza, Tutto Italia and Columbia Harbour House. I think you should definitely do Teppan Edo. Do you guys go out for Japanese where you live? We have several of these restaurants locally and they are always very good. Too many places to go! :)

Next, the rides. Since this was my son's first trip, we missed a lot and we knew we would. We also knew we'd be back and it became a laugh to us - oh well, we'll just do it next time! :rotfl2: We did not get to do TTA, Snow White's Scary Adventure, Mickey's Philharmagic, Tiki Room, Astro Orbiter and the Jungle Cruise to name a few! My DS loved POTC, however just tell Juliana it's dark in there (you mentioned she isn't afraid of the dark), but it does go down a dark, small hill and that scared my son because he was not expecting it and it had been 15 years or so since I had gone on it and I remembered just as it was happening. He knows about it now but sort of felt we set him up for it though! :rotfl: I definitely agree with not pushing kids to ride things they don't want to.

Enjoy your weekend!

We always miss the Speedway, but that's on purpose. Ditto with Stitch...

Honestly, if you are there at rope drop, you won't have to miss anything. You can really get everything ridden as far as rides go by 11:00 or so, then you can kick back and take it easy, or repeat your favorites.

Oh, 2 that I did miss last, but really wish I hadn't were the Liberty Belle, and the Treehouse..

Obviously I've missed quite a bit in Tommorowland.:sad2::rolleyes1

I think I'm all caught up now on your PTR! BTW, no MJ on our vaca :(

We have missed the Swiss Family Robinson Treehouse on both of our previous trips. The first because GMa didn't want to do all the walking around up there with small kids. The second time it was under construction. It's definitely on our list of MUST DO's this time.
We have also missed (and pretty much have no desire to do) the following:
Ellen's World of Energy
Great Movie Ride
Mission Space (did it once - never again)
Tiki Room
Stitch Great Escape (again, tried once, not worth the time IMO)
Hall of Presidents (waiting til the girls are older)
and a lot at AK - we never seem to give that park enough time

Have you given any consideration to a haircut and pixie dust at the barber shop on Main St. for Juliana? It was so special for Isabella!

Don't let the elevator ride for Astro Orbiter deter you - it's one of Bella's FAVORITE rides at WDW. Actually a tie between AO and Triceratops Spin at AK.

And definitely do TTA - the dark parts are actually pretty cool because you can see stars and hear the coaster. for Bella and it was a good CALM ride - almost like downtime.

If you can convince Juliana to go on the Barnstormer, it's a great coaster-intro.

I only realized AFTER our last trip that Teppan Edo is sort of like a Benihanas. We've taken our girls there once and even though two are VERY picky eaters, they just ate rice and enjoyed the table show! Give it a shot!

Meals not to miss: Ohana Friends is a great meal and experience. We NEVER miss a meal in Cindy's Castle. Of course BFast with Mickey and the gang at Contemporary. And I'd venture to guess that Juliana would really love the Little Einstein's Breakfast at Hollywood and Vine.

Meals we wouldn't do again or not interested in: We have eaten at Sci-Fi and wouldn't go back - small cramped space, dark dining (I like to see my food), and the movie was just a bunch of short clips of various sci fi movies. The kids weren't intersted at all. I wasn't all that impressed with the Hoop Dee Doo Musical Review and neither were the kids.

There are a few hibachi's near us but we have yet to go. A few of our friends go all the time, but with my work schedule, I am never around on the weekends(usually). We haven't eaten at Sci-Fi or Coral Reef, but we have done T-Rex. I would like to try Coral Reef sometime... its just not happening on this trip.

I tried to get Juliana on POTC in March but she didn't want anything to do with it!!!!! LOL:rotfl: We'll see about October.:confused3

We always miss the Speedway, but that's on purpose. Ditto with Stitch...

Oh, 2 that I did miss last, but really wish I hadn't were the Liberty Belle, and the Treehouse..

From what I've read on the DIS and also in touring books, I don't think we will be hurrying to see Stitch! I took Juliana on the Speedway 3/08 on our first trip. She was fine on it until the kid behind us bashed into us 3-4 times. Juliana wanted to get off... and so did I. (I also wanted to yell at the kid, but I didn't)

I don't think we will be at MK for rope drop. We have an 8:15 ADR at Kona. We should be walking into MK by 9:30 though.

Some places I want to try next trip is Ohana dinner, Sci fi and Mickeys backyard BBQ.

Ohana is a must! We had such a nice time here in March.

From the reviews I've read on here (everyone has their own opinion) Mickey's Backyard BBQ seems like a free for all when it comes to the characters. There are always ppl complaining that their kid got pushed or run over.

I think I'm all caught up now on your PTR! BTW, no MJ on our vaca :(

OH GEEZ. We took her on the barnstormer and I might have traumatized her for life! She was crying on most of the ride. I felt so bad that I brought her on it.

I never thought about the haircut. Do you need a reservation or do you just walk in?

Oh no! I'm kinda sad that she doesn't like it! Do you think multiple traumatizations could lead to desensitization? :confused3 Just a thought (totally kidding!) :rotfl2:

I never thought about the haircut. Do you need a reservation or do you just walk in?

It's walk in, first come first served basis. However, we went about an hour after opening on a moderately busy day and there were only 2 people ahead of us. I think it's worth a shot to at least see what the line is like. It really was magical for Bella. Look at the smile on her face! (FYI, the barber purposely held the mirror so I could get her smiling in the picture - what a nice guy!)

Just double checking, but you are aware that the princesses are not at Cindy's for dinner, right? It's Fairy Godmother and the mice (at least it was when we went last September). My girls were disappointed when the princesses didn't show up :( My bad for not doing the research. :headache:

The Ohana breakfast is DELICIOUS! This is a video (notice this theme with me?) of our Ohana Breakfast. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OyeihE-LKKI) Don't we look like we're having a great time?!? We were!

CRT- We know there are no princesses at dinner, but it's OK. Juliana will get to see Cinderella before we go in and that will be good enough for her.

I had a really busy weekend.... but here is my DHS list!

Hollywood BLVD.
Great Movie Ride- Haven't done it.... not sure if we will this time either.

Echo Lake
American Idol- Here is my confession. I hate American Idol.. which is weird because my life is music. There is something about American Idol that doesn't agree with me. Maybe it is what todays (2000's) pop music (top40, hiphop rock) has turned into..... Cr@ppy. I think the whole American Idol phenomenon has part to do with this. With that being said if DW wants to see this then I will be going. LOL:rotfl:
Sounds Dangerous- Has never been open while we were there. I'm not sure if we will do this.
Indiana Jones- We haven't done this but I think I would like to see it this time!
Star Tours- I will be doing this. DW got motion sickness last time she rode it. (didn't vomit thank god) She vowed she wouldn't ride it again.

Streets of America
Muppet Vision- We saw this for the first time in March and I was kinda disappointed. I love the muppets. I remember being allowed to stay up and watch the show. I feel like this can be so much more. I doubt we will see it in October.
Honey, I Shrunk the Kids- Juliana loves this playground. I'm sure we will be here 2 times on our DHS day.
Lights, Motors, Action!- We haven't seen this either. I will probably see this when we go in March 2010 with our friends. That way Dave & I can watch the show and the kids can play in the playground.
Studio Backlot Tour- I think we are planing on seeing this in October. I'm not sure if it is appropriate for Juliana?:confused3

Pixar Place
TSM- I'm planing on being at DHS at rope drop. The plan would be walk directly to the FP machines, then either ride right away or come back later. Juliana loved TSM last time!!!!!

Mickey Avenue
Narnia- Haven't seen it. Doubt we will this time either.
One Man's Dream- We haven't seen this yet but it is on my list to see this time.

Animation Courtyard
Voyage of the Little Mermaid- Melody has heard that this can be scary. I think we will try it this time. Juliana has seen the Little Mermaid movie, so she knows Ursula.
Disney Animation- We will probably skip this too. We are yet to do it.
Playhouse Disney- Juliana has gotten off her Mickey Mouse Clubhouse kick. She doesn't even watch any Playhouse Disney shows anymore. I will leave it up to her if she wants to see it or not.

Sunset BLVD.
Beauty & the Beast- Juliana loved this last time. I'm sure we will see this again.
RNRC- My favorite ride in all of Disney. The question is how many times can I ride this in 1 day at DHS? LOL:rotfl:
Tower of Terror- Melody did this last trip and I hung out with Juliana. This is Melody's favorite ride. I think I will try to get on it this time too!
Fantasmic!- We haven't seen this yet. On our DHS day we have a 7:15 ADR for the Hoop Dee Doo Review. So we won't be seeing this this time either.

Block Party Bash- We skipped this in March but I think we will watch this in October. Juliana got a kick out of it when we saw it before. She has also watched Monsters INC and Toy Story since she first saw BPB. She will know more of the characters so she should really like this now.

Block Party Bash- We skipped this in March but I think we will watch this in October. Juliana got a kick out of it when we saw it before. She has also watched Monsters INC and Toy Story since she first saw BPB. She will know more of the characters so she should really like this now.

FYI - I think Juliana would be scared in Sounds Dangerous. Both Bella (4 at the time) and Kennedy (7 then) got scared :scared1: and we had to leave in the middle of the show. It was worth it though because we were Dreamed with HS Fast Passes at the entrance!

R&RC - if you ask my DD10, the answer is 8! A combo of short lines, Dream Fast Pass, regular FP, and an awesome CM who let her go on 3 times in a row because the music didn't play the first time allowed AJ to have the time of her life - 8 times in a row!

I didn't think Little Mermaid was scary, and Juliana should be okay since she's seen the movie and already knows about Ursula.

The rest of your list looks good! Don't forget about child swap on TOT!

BTW, my video was from Jan 2007 - about 2 1/2 years ago.

Oh you gotta do the Great Movie Ride!!

If you hate American Idol, you're going to HATE the American Idol Experience. :rotfl2:

Indiana Jones is a fun show.

I honestly don't know if Juliana will care for the Backlot Tour or not. If I was her age, I'd think it was pretty boring.

TSM is AWESOME!

I've heard Narnia is a complete waste of time.

You HAVE to do One Man's Dream!

I think Juliana will like Voyage of the Little Mermaid. Stay towards the back of the theater because up towards the front, it gets hard to see up towards the stage.

LOVE Beauty & the Beast.

Aw, hopefully you'll get to Fantasmic! next time then.

You CANNOT miss the Great Movies Ride! It's one of my favs. in all of WDW. But, then again, old, classic movies are my thang! I love the live action in the middle (cowboy or gangster part)! Just distract Julianna from the Alien part, and she probably won't even notice it's there.

The rest looks good.

My 5 year fell asleep in Muppets- it was that good.

Julianna seems well suited for shows- hit those!

Hey, all this is just one woman's opinion... right? Take it with a grain of salt.

that's nice

Your DD is my kind of girl. I always wait for the front seat on the R&RC. The one time Melody rode with me, she didn't want to sit in the front, so we just went where ever they told us.... which was the back seat. It was so bumpy back there. The front is so smooth.

Thanks for reminding me about the child swap on ToT. We never really utilized the child swap. The few times we tried it we were told 'they don't do that on this ride' LOL:rotfl:

Last night I received another PIN code!!!!!!!!! This is my 3rd one since March!!!!! Starting on October 4th, values $69, moderates $99, and deluxe(AKL & WL) $169.

OK here comes the DISer in me. I wonder if it would be cheaper to just pay OP for our meals and pay $69 a night for POP. I'm not sure what the 10/3 rate would be but with my AP maybe I could get a deal for Saturday night too. Then again, I don't have my AP in hand and we aren't going to a park till Monday (10/5) so I'm not sure if I could even use the AP rate?:confused3

With the free dining deal, we are getting 3 1day tix with our package that we can save for a later date, plus 15TS, 15CS, and 15 snacks.

What to do, what to do?:rolleyes1
