Hi! Some friends and I are working on planning a trip for a family in our community who has a very sick little boy. We got his top 10 list of "wishes" and they included LegoLand, Disney Land, the beach, and Universal Studios, which led to us looking at a trip to southern CA.

I've been to WDW many times, but have never been to any of these parks. I'd love help/advice on where to stay, how many days to plan for each park, where a good beach to visit is and where to stay in that area, how much to plan for food/transportation/other expenses.... Pretty much anything and everything about planning a trip like this.

We know that we are going to have them flown in and that they will have a rental car. We know that they are going to take the grandparents with them so we thought a hotel with comfortable sized suites or connecting rooms, or even a condo would be good....

Also we are open to other ideas about good attractions in this area. We are thinking that it will be a 7-10 day total trip.

Thanks in advance. I've always gotten GREAT tips for my WDW planning from disboards, and I just knew that there would be experts out there who could offer advise for this as well! :thumbsup2

I'll try to offer as much advice as possible.

As far as a place to stay, where should they be based: near Disney or Universal or closer to the beach?

As for what places and how much money depends on what they want to do. Say a 3 day pass to Disneyland and then a day at Universal and then maybe down to San Diego for Legoland, Sea World, the Zoo and the beach. If that is the kind of schedule that would work then a CityPass is probably the best bet as it has admission for several So. Cal. attractions (Citypass.com) How much time is spent where will give a good jumping off point for money.

I've been to Disneyland and San Diego fairly often so anything I can answer for you I am happy to.
