Random thought here but was watching VH1 early this morning and Poker Face by Lady GaGa came on. They censored (bleeped out) the word "gun" and "muffin" from the song (but kept gluegun) - if you know the song you will know where these bleeped out words come in. Thought it was a bit odd.

We always get a kick out of what some radio stations (and I guess VH1) choose to edit out and what they leave in. This one doesn't really strike me as logical at all:confused3

Tell me about it. I always crack up when I hear the commercial for those Kid-Bops CD's where the kids are singing "Semi-Charmed Life" (a song about overcomming a meth addiction).

:lmao:I haven't heard that commercial:lmao:

My experience has been that most of the time the kids do not pay much attention to the lyrics anyway--until and unless someone bleeps them out--then they start to pay attention to figure out what the issue was. That is how my kdis roll anyway--they go along just enjoying the music unitl a friend says they cannot listen to whatever it is and then the kids start trying to analyze WHY:rotfl: I did the same type of thing. I clearly recall getting Purple Rain for Christmas in 6th grade (dating myself I know:rolleyes:). I listened to the cassette over and over during Christmas break, but was skipping (okay, fast forwarding through--we couldn't just skip back in the dark ages)the couple of song on it I didn't like within a day. Then school started back up again and it turned out I was the only kid in town whose parents had not erased Darling Nikki. So, of course, I just had to listen to it again and figure out what all the hoopla was about (I think I still know all the lyrics to this day:sad2:). If no one had pointed it out I would have been blissfully unaware:cutie:

That's actually kind of amusing. Some guy was probably like, "What words could be misconstrued as offensive...?"
Muffin and gun. Haha...

Funny, I never really thought about whose job it is to censor these things. What an odd career that would be.

I would love that job! I would have fun on some of the rap videos (MTV is showing new Eminem video non-stop and although the video is funny the song is horrible).:happytv:

I've worked as "Photo censor" at the ToT once. Some of those pictures are :scared1:

Word of the wise to women, dont wear a skirt on that ride, no matter how appropriate it seems when you are standing up!

I think we all have a serious obsession with Lady GaGa on this board...

I'd have fun too...The morning show on Sirius Hits 1 (the top 40 station) does this bit called "Censor This", and they take a line from a song and bleep out a word to make an otherwise innocent song sound offensive. (for instance, they take the line from Kelly Clarkson's song "Breakaway": "I'll spread my *bleep* and I'll learn how to *bleep*")
It's a totally innocent line in the song, but they make it sound horrible.

Anyhow, my point is that I'd probably have a bit too much fun with that job...:lmao:

Lady GaGa was on American Idol recently... I had heard the Poker Face song on the radio, but had no idea who was singing it. Wow, she makes Adam Lambert look normal (when he's glammed up) :goodvibes
