Info on internet states Amtrak is considering stopping all service during July. Anyone have info pertaining to the Auto Train and if this would effect the Auto Train.
We're planning a trip in Aug on the Auto Train.
Maybe if someone is going down on the Auto Train soon you might see some info pertaining to this.

Info in our paper today said if you already have reservations for travel during July do not cancel. They are trying to get a loan and will hopefully not have to cancel if everything goes thru the way they hope it will. Cancelling will only make it worse for AMTRAK. If they have to pay back all the people who cancel they will need even more money to keep going. I would think that since they are government subsidized that if they stop the trains in July they would have to reimburse you for the lost trip.

I have tickets for the middle and end of August on the Autotrain and if they cancel, we will just have to drive. I'm not thrilled with the idea of doing that but I don't want to fly either.

Hopefully it doesn't come to that for any of us.:(

Yikes.. I hope all goes well.. We have tickets to come back home on the auto train on Labor Day.
