We are a family of 4. Last year we had a private 4-seat table on the Magic and it was wonderful! It's no that we're anti-social, but we enjoy this time together as a family. Sometimes it's hard or uncomfortable trying to make conversation with strangers...

I have requested this again for this year. Any chance they WON'T give it to me?

We're a family of 5 and are also hoping for a private table.. we'll probably get a 6-person table, but I don't know whether they'll seat us with a single traveler or not. We also would prefer to eat alone, but wouldn't be crushed if we were seated with a single.

Well, we did not get what we requested on either of our 2 cruises, but we did make the necessary changes when we boarded, so take heart if you don't get your request.:)

On the first cruise we were separated from part of our family of 7 even though the ressies were supposedly linked. I went to Studio Sea to make the change & even though it took an hour in line, it was worth it to get it straightened out.

On the second cruise, we were placed at a huge table for 12 after requesting a small private one. Didn't know they even had such large ones!! We are not anti-social either, but wanted some quality family time for our group of 4. We again waited in line to make the change.

Both times we were told to report to the dining room that night and remind them of the change. This worked the first time, but unfortunately, on the second, we were still at a table for 12. When we said, well that's where we were to begin with, they then changed us. It was confusing, but I guess it was worth it for the rest of the cruise.

Good luck with it!!!!

We were a party of seven put at a table for eight. I didn't think a single would be seated with us but they were. Unfortunately, this particular single was unbalanced and by the end of the first dinner had to ask the head server to move him or us. Even the waitstaff didn't want to serve him and he had the asst. server in tears.

He kept groping my friend and stealing food off my kids plate. How he was even able to tavel alone was beyond me, he needed special care both mentally and physically.

We have also had the huge table for 14 that we requested for our group of 14. The only drawback to that large a table is convesation!! We kept rotating each night so we all got to talk to each other.

When do you make a request for private seating?

Last year, I asked our TA to make a note of it on our reservation.
We didn't actually know it had been taken care of until we were escorted to our table on the first night of the cruise. I can't tell you how happy we all were when we sat down at our own table!
I have no reason to believe they won't accomodate us again, I just wanted to see what experiences others have had. But believe me, I will complain about it if they don't do it !

We had requested a private table for the three of us, and we were waitlisted for early seating. We were fortunate enough to get our early seating; however, we were placed at a table for 6. It all worked out well, though. Our tablemates were also a family of three, with a four year old boy (same age as my son.) They became good friends, and we thoroughly enjoyed the other couple. Everything will work out fine.

We eat together as a family of 4 every night. It was a welcome change to sit with another family and get to know them.

On our second cruise we were with our son and his fiance and they seated us at a table for four. Oh, how we missed meeting new people. On the first cruise we sat with a couple from Cal., a couple from Mass. and two lady ranchers from Mont.
If it's privacy you want I hope you get it. Man, we would like to be at the table for 12.

Our TA asked for a table of 8 and we only had 3. We ended up with a table of 6 but they never showed up. The waiter didn't know what happened but it was so nice. They gave so much attention to my 2 children and the service was superb!!!!!
