I know it's a strange title, but there's a story behind it, but first let me introduce the cast of characters,
There's myself, I referred to myself as Minnie in my last report so I'll keep that name for this one, I'm still quite smitten with Mickey!
Then DH, he was Grumpy in the last report and since it still fits, Grumpy it is.
This trip we'll have our DGS, he loves Stitch and since that fits him, Stitch it is!
Minnie - 47 yo Disney lover, wife to Grumpy and MawMaw to Stitch
Grumpy - 44 yo Disney lover, (even if he is Grumpy) husband to Minnie and PawPaw to Stitch
Stitch - 6 yo, this will be his third Disney trip, doesn't care too much for all the walking so we'll see how that goes
Now for the story behind the title, several months back we were having lunch out and the subject of another grandchild came up, Stitch was sitting across the table from me and looked up with very sad eyes and said, "If you have another one you'll forget all about me". This trip was originally going to be in February while Stitch was out of school for Mardi Gras, but to our surprise and joy we had an addition to the family, a new little Princess and Stitch's little sister, born 2/17/09, so the trip was rescheduled for the last week in May, his last day of school is the 22nd, so we leave on the 23rd.
Heres our new Princess,
http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h136/MrsHeg/IMG_0135.jpg
And here are the three of us on our last trip together for free dining in 07,
http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h136/MrsHeg/dreams2-1.gif
We'll be driving down this trip, so right now the big decision is whether to take the car or the truck, the car has more room inside but the truck is so much easier for luggage . . . .

We've rented points for this trip and will be staying in a studio at OKW, with the kitchenette we'll be having a few quick meals in the room, our plan is to spend a lot more time at the resort and trying new things this trip, the crowds are 9's on touring plans so this will probably be a good idea.
I've made ADR's for one meal per day with the exception of our Sea World day, we splurged and signed up for the VIP tour there, we're really looking forward to that. I think Stitch will have blast, he get's to feed the dolphins, sea lions, sting rays, and have lunch with Shamu. :cool1::cool1:
Our meals are,
Dinner at Chef Mickey's
Lunch at Whispering Canyon
Lunch at Le Cellier (this one's for me :))
Dinner at T Rex
Lunch at Sci Fi
and Breakfast wiht Stitch at Ohana
We opted to pass on the DDP and go with TIW instead, I'll have to keep track of the savings to see if it works better for us, I really wish they would give you the option of an appetizer or dessert on the DDP, but alsa, it is not to be.

Thank you, I found her a cute little pink dress with Princess icons on it at the Disney Store, and she already has a Minnie Dress from her cousin that she has to grow into, so yes we've started already.

Let's start the countdown,
Countdown = 48
ADR's - made
Sea World - Reservations made, tickets purchased and printed
I'm a big fan of the matching t shirt thing, so we'll be doing those for a few days. We bought one for each of us in November, they were 40% off so I couldn't pass them up, we just had a really hard time finding one that they had all of our sizes in. We bought Stitch a Mickey to go with our Goofy and Minnie shirts that we already had, and I've made a Grumpy design for Stitch to match the ones that Grumpy and I already have.
I was going to try and avoid SWW because of the crowd, but after Stitch was telling me all about how much he loves Star Wars, I can't not take him, so I am looking for a Star Wars design for shirts for that day.

My last trip report started with AC troubles, this one starts with car troubles. Fortunately it's routine repairs that were easily taken care of, so we're back in planning mode!
We had a lovely weekend here and enjoyed the Air Show at the local base,

I'm getting more and more nervous about the crowd level the more I read, sounds like the parks are packed! I need to call and try to puch our Sci Fi lunch ADR back an hour, we'll see if I have any luck with that one.

Real life has gotten in the way of posting again,
Countdown = 27 :banana::banana::banana:
Preparations are underway, I've done some shopping for Stitch and stocked him up on swim trunks, shorts, socks and underwear. I may do laundry while we're there but I want to have the option not to if I decide not to take the time away from fun.
We're staying in a studio at OKW, which means we can do laundry at no charge but we won't have the machines in the room. It also means I'll be packing some towels, I'd rather do that than pay the extra charge for the towel package, and what they leave in the room won't be enough for the three of us.

After all the planning time is getting really close.
We won't be postponing because of the Swine flu, but I have added some items to the packing lists that I might not normally take. I always have Purell but I've increased the amount, I've added clorox wipes and lysol, I'll give the room a good wipe down and spray the beds when we get there. I'll also have germex wipes in my purse everyday. I'll have to keep a good eye on Stitch, he has a bad habit of putting things in his mouth, other than that it's business as usual.
I do plan on making live updates each evening, that way Stitch's mom can see what he's been up to everyday.
Now it's off to do laundry, I think my hampers automatically double whatever is put in them

Well, we're live from Old Key West.
The drive was pretty rough in places, it took an additional two hours on our first leg because of wrecks and bad weather.
I packed lysol and germex to guard against germs, and then I got sick before we even left. Friday I went to the doctor and am armed with medication so I hope they kick in soon.
We checked in at OKW, had lunch at Olivias, and Stitch went swimming while I unpacked and took a nap, later we will have dinner offsite, get groceries and call it a night early in hopes of feeling better tomorrow.

So here's a few pictures to add a little interest, I don't have many yet as I just haven't felt well, I'm hoping that will change soon.
The first leg of the trip was pretty rough going, and here's the reason,
http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h136/MrsHeg/IMG_0027-1.jpg
Actually the rain had slowed quite a bit when I took this, I don't know why some people can't slow down and be cautious in bad weather, we saw several wrecks because of it.

Our arrival day was pretty uneventful, we are in unit 14 which is a great location, we are right accross from HH, just a short walk to all the resort fun.
After checking in we had lunch at Olivia's, our service while not bad was really slow, which isn't good when you have a six year old who is "starving to death".
We're on the third floor, even though I had requested a lower floor, which makes moving in a pain, and since my asthma is giving me such a hard time all the work was left up to Grumpy and Stitch.
The weather was nice so I stayed in the room to unpakc and rest while Grumpy and Stitch went to the pool, Stitch loved the slide and came back to the room all excited.
For dinner we went offsite to Olive Garden, it was packed but the wait was less than 30 minutes, and the food was really good, our server did a great job, much better than our server at Olivia's.
Grumpy and Stitch played tic, tac, toe,
http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h136/MrsHeg/IMG_0038.jpg
Stitch is being goofy here and making a "Zombie" face, he loves mac and cheese,
http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h136/MrsHeg/IMG_0041.jpg
Grumpy had lasagna,
http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h136/MrsHeg/IMG_0042-3.jpg
and I had Chicken Parmagian with wheat pasta,
http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h136/MrsHeg/IMG_0043.jpg
After we ate we went to WalMart for our groceries for the week, that's when the heavens opened up, it wasn't raining, it was pouring. Grumpy and Stitch waited in the truck while I went in alone, the place was packed, but I managed.
I'm up at 3:00 am for a breathing treatment and thought I would post an update. I've decided to send the boys to AK without me this morning, I'm hoping that one more day of breathing treatments and antibiotics will make a big difference.
Grumpy doesn't want to leave me alone, but I would feel horrible if they got stuck in the room with me. We have an ADR at Chef Mickey's tonight and I do plan on making that one.

While we were having dinner the skies turned black and the bottom fell out, we were glad we were inside and not caught out in the middle of it. People wer getting off the monorail soaked to the skin. By the time we got on the monorail it slowed to a light drizzle, so we pulled out the emergency ponchos and made it back to OKW dry, I'm getting better but far from 100% so it's another early night here.
I told Grumpy it was too bad because people had poured out of the Magic Kingdom, so it would have been a great night to go.

We decided our first stop would be Thunder Mountain, here are the boys happily making their way to Thunder,
http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h136/MrsHeg/IMG_0111-2.jpg
And here's a not so happy Stitch after the ride, (which was a walk on), this little boy who rode TM in 2006 and got off dancing and singing more rides, said it freaked him out and he almost had a heart attack and he certainly wasn't going to ride Splash Mountain!
http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h136/MrsHeg/IMG_0112.jpg
So we went around the corner to Pirates, he informed me that we were headed the wrong way and he was NOT riding Pirates either, he was scared of the BIG drop. So we moved on to the Jungle Cruise, where he asked me if the animals were real, I let the cat out of the bag and filled him in on the fact that everything at Disney was made just for fun and that no one was going to really get hurt, so at least we got to ride this one,

Sorry about the delay, between not feeling well and updating facebook for Stitch's mom I fell behind on my trip report.
Since Stitch decided he didn't want anything to do with the big rides we headed over to Buzz, stopping in at the MI Laugh floor on the way,
The MI show was a big hit with Stitch, here he is trying his best to beat Grumpy's score in Buzz,

We exited Buzz in time to catch a glimpse of the new Stitch show, I'll review that one later.

I didn't take any food pictures, we had the skillet and Stitch got the kid's cheeseburger, I would have been ashamed to charge $7.99 for the pitiful little cheeseburger they served to Stitch, think Krystal burger only round. As far as the skillet went, it was ok at best, I think it's time to give WC a break for a while.
We measured Stitch against the totem pole, he's almost the same size as the bear.

I did something we hadn't done in years on this trip, we made plans to visit another park :scared1:
Stitch loves animals so I thought he would really enjoy Sea World, after doing some research I signed us up for the VIP tour, it's a bit pricy but when you factor in the costs of the individual components it's not that bad.
We arrived at the park before opening, paid extra for preferred parking, and waited with the crowds for the turnstiles to open.
http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h136/MrsHeg/IMG_0206.jpg
The park itself is really beautiful, we had some time before we had to sign in for the tour so we did some exploring on our own, Stitch tried to pet this bird but didn't get any closer than this,

Our guide for the tour was Stephen, we had six kids on the tour and all of them just loved him, he was great with them and I would definitely recommend him. Our first stop was Manta, Stitch and I didn't go on this one but Grumpy did, he said it was pretty rough and made him kind of queasy when it went backwards,
http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h136/MrsHeg/IMG_0225-1.jpg
The first show we saw was Blue Horizons, it was great having reserved seating and not having to fight the crowds. Stephen went and got drinks for everyone on the tour, which were very welcome as by now it was HOT. I enjoyed the show, but would have like it better with more of the animals and less human performances,
http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h136/MrsHeg/IMG_0255.jpg
After Blue Horizons, we went on Journey to Atlantis, this ride has a lot of similarlities to Splash, with a bigger drop, personally I still prefer Splash. Stitch didn't want to get on this one but the other kids in the group convinced him to give it a try, he held on to me for dear life, but he survived.

Next up on the tour was "Dining with Shamu", this is set up behind Shamu stadium, a buffet meal is served and some of the trainers demonstrate behaviors that are taught to the whales.

Our next stop would be the Sea Lion show, Grumpy wanted me to take a picture of this along the way,

This guy did the preshow, and he was hilarious,
http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h136/MrsHeg/IMG_0293.jpg
This was Stitch's favorite show, I think sitting with Stephen and talking to him aobut it made it that much more fun for him,

http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h136/MrsHeg/IMG_0296-1.jpg
Unfortunately for me it was getting very hot, and my breathing was getting worse, Grumpy mentioned that we should go ahead and leave, but I had too much invested in the tour and we hadn't done the things that I wanted most to do. So I stuck it out and we headed back to Shamu stadium for Believe.

As we were exiting the show the heavens opened up and it started to pour, so while we waited under shelter Stephen went and got ponchos for the group, the bad news was there would be no feeding of the sting rays or dolphins while there was lightning in the area.

We donned our ponchos and head over to the Arctic exhibit, to have a look at the Polar bears, hoping that the weather would pass over while we were in there. Luckily the weather had cleared up enough so that we could feed the sting rays,

Because of the weather delay we had missed our scheduled time for the dolphin feeding, Stephen called and arranged for us to attend the next one, which happened to be the last one of the day, Thank you Stephen, I would have been so disappointed to have missed this,
http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h136/MrsHeg/IMG_0344.jpg
This was amazing, Stitch was a little leary and held his fish higher than he should,
http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h136/MrsHeg/IMG_0345-1.jpg
All in all it was a good day, and would have been a great one if I had been up to par.
Stitch loves Mexican food, but the menu at San Angel doesn't have anything that he would eat so we keyed in Mexican in the GPS and it took us to a Mexican grill that was right outside of Disney and we enjoyed a reasonably priced good meal with great service on the way back to the resort. Have I mentioned how much I love my GPS?
We called it a night when we got back, tomorrow it's time for Apricot.

Thanks, we actually did have a good time, just an abbreviated one, with Stitch it really did work out better, he wasn't worn out and still had fun, he would never complain about spending more time in the pool especially one with a slide. I'm counting on August to be my do-over, I haven't made our reservations yet, I'm hoping to get a deal.

We awoke Wednesday morning to a beautiful sunny day, we made our way to Epcot, better known to us as Apricot, and awaited the opening of the turnstiles, our first stop is always our Leave a Legacy tile, here's Stitch pointing it out,

Next I had the Grumpy's pose with the Grumpy topiary,

Stitch even cooperated and posed in front of the fountain for me,
http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h136/MrsHeg/IMG_0355-1.jpg
We sent Grumpy ahead for our Soarin' fastpasses and Stitch and I took our time, Stitch didn't even notice that Grumpy was behind him when I took this,
http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h136/MrsHeg/IMG_0358.jpg
With our fastpasses in hand we headed back to Test Track, now Stitch has ridden this many times, but while we were in line he told me he was "freaking out" and didn't want to ride. :confused3 I told him fine, we'll just ask to use the "chicken" exit when we get there, he thought about it and decided he would give it a try. He rode but was nervous about it, can someone please explain why he got scared of everything in less than two years?

After test track we headed back over to ride Nemo, I was sure this one wouldn't scare Stitch, thankfully it didn't,

He was fascinated with the upside down fountain,

We spent some time exploring the countries before out lunch at Le Cellier.
Stitch had the cheeseburger and fries, this was much better than the one he had at WCC. He did get upset though when he dropped a french fry on the floor, I asked him what was wrong, he said it was the biggest french fry he ever had in his life and he dropped it. :lmao:
I ordered the soup for an appetizer, Grumpy also ordered it and I tried to remind him that he didn't like the soup and he argued with me that he did, well you know what happened when he tried it, yep, he didn't like it.
We both had the New York strip, his came with augratin potatoes and mine came with a ceasar salad because I can't have the potatoes, the steaks were wonderful as always, no one had desert, no one had room for it.
Once again our day was cut short by my breathing difficulties, so we followed our new pattern, I took a nap and the boys went swimming, they also had ice cream. We missed being out in bad weather by following this pattern so I guess that was a good thing.

http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h136/MrsHeg/IMG_0427-1.jpg
It was an EMH morning so the crowds were low, a perfect opportunity to have our pictures taken. After she took our photopass picture I had her take one with my camera, good thing I did because the photopass picture was lost and they weren't able to find it.

I'm not sure what this attitude is all about, with Stitch you never know,

As usual Peter Pan was backed up so we got fastpasses, this and Soarin' were the only two fastpasses we got all week, our longest wait couldn't have been more than 15 minutes, I guess the fact that Stitch was afraid to ride all the "Big Ticket" rides came in handy for something.
Here are some of what we did do,

We decided on having an early lunch at Cosmic Rays, I like CR because it has a much bigger selection than the other counter service places, and everyone can have something different. The only problem with that is to get different items you have to go through the line more than once, I got Grumpy and Stitch what they wanted, while they held a table and got back in line for my salad, I hate that they no longer have the chef salad, but the Greek salad was pretty good.
Now here's where I have a question for my fellow DIS'ers, there were several school groups in the park that day, which is fine, but it ruffles my feathers when they don't get in line together, but think that because they are with the same group they can let their friends get in front of them, pushing the people behind them further back in line. I wouldn't mind one person but I was pretty ticked after five, one of which was a chaperone. Am I alone with the feeling that this is wrong?
After lunch we went back and rode Peter Pan, even Stitch said "That was it?" I never have seen what the big deal was.
We did convince Stitch to get on the Haunted Mansion, although he was pretty scared, just look at this picture and I think you'll agree,

http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h136/MrsHeg/IMG_0531.jpg
Since we had time to spare we headed over to The World of Disney to make our other purchases and use our AP's for the discount, we had our purchases sent back to the resort, I love not having to lug everything around. We made our way over to Goofy's and got something to drink, while we wer in there it started to pour, of course we didn't bring any ponchos with us so we bought another set, put them on and made our way through the rain over to TRex,

Well here we are, it's our last full park day. Isn't it amazing that the trips that take soooooo long to get here pass by so quickly?
I was concerned about the crowd levels for this day, we were headed to DHS for Star Wars Weekend, and I had also heard that Kris Allen was also making an appearance, combine the two and you have an extremely crowded park but since Stitch loves Star Wars we went ahead. I did make a big mistake, we arrived at the park around 8:20 am to find it already open, I completely missed the fact that it was an EMH morning.

In the new Studios tradition our first stop would be TSM, as we rounded the corner we ran into a huge line, it was for fastpasses, so we got in line for ours. (I'll have to make a correction to an earlier post, we used three fastpasses, this being our third) Here's a picture that I took of the entrance showing the time and standby wait time, do you think the newness will ever wear off of this one?

It still over an hour until time for the Star Wars parade but we found a shaded bench along the route so we set up camp, taking turns making bathroom runs and getting drinks and snacks. Stitch had his purchase from Wickets Warehouse to keep him occupied so it wasn't so bad.

After the parade we finally got to ride TSM, of course it was a big hit with Stitch, too bad the lines are always so outrageous that a second time around was out of the question.
We had a late lunch planned at Sci Fi, this turned out to be a perfect place for Stitch, the boys took the driver's seat and I sat in the back, Stitch sat still, was quiet and ate his lunch totally enthralled with the whole movie setting.
Stitch had the kids mac and cheese which came with fries, Grumpy had the ribs and I ended up with a house salad and a bowl of chili. The food rated an ok, we won't take this one off the list completely but it will go on the back burner.

http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h136/MrsHeg/IMG_0721.jpg
After resting for a while we got started packing up the room, we were heading out the next morning so we got as much of a head start as possible.
Stitch spent the evening assembling one of his lego purchases and couldn't have been happier.
So here we were, we had been in Disney all week and done no night time activities, no fireworks, no Illuminations, no Fantasmic, nothing. Not to mention no big ticket rides. Stitch didn't mind and Grumpy said he was fine with it but I still feel guilty, having put a damper on everything. Changing the date of the trip at the last minute was not an option, that's definitely one of the downfalls of renting points, it cuts way down on the flexibility. But it was definitely worth it, we were able to stay in deluxe accomodations at value pricing.
Next up,
Breakfast at OHana with Stitch, one last trip to the Magic Kingdom and a stopover in Tallahassee.

So here we are, our final day. :sad2:
We finished packing up and loaded the truck, Stitch and I waited downstairs while Grumpy went back in the room to make a final check for any left items. A few minutes later he came back with a pair of Stitch's underwear, he said he found a surprise in the safe, Stitch then chimed in with, "I had to keep my lucky underwear safe!" I keep the bag of dirty clothes in the closet and he put his underwear in the safe when I told him to put them in the dirty clothes bag. :lmao::lmao::lmao:
We took the bus over to the MK and the the monorail to the Poly, the front was already taken so we didn't get to drive this trip.

Our service at OHana wasn't the best, so much so that I considered not using the TIW card because of the automatic tip that is added, while not horrible our server did not earn an 18% tip.
Stitch perked up when the characters made it to us,

After breakfast we headed over to a very crowded MK, we hadn't taken a ride on the train yet so we decided to take the train over to Toon town, get off there and take the secret path over to Tommorowland and take another spin on Buzz. Here's the view of Main Street from the train station, look at the masses,

When we pulled into the Frontierland station you could see the lines for Splash winding through the yard, we all know what that means. Pulling into Toon Town we I noticed several characters in a little alcove between the Judges tent and the train station, so we made a bee line from the train over to see them, we hit character paydirt, we saw all these characters without waiting for more than one person in front of us with any of them, some were waiting for us,

After meeting the characters we took the secret path, it was wonderful we had the path to ourselves.

The first thing we ran into in Tommorowland was the new Stitch show, I've read some pretty bad reviews about this one, but I have to disagree, we thought it was pretty cute and Stitch loved it. Now it's certainly not a must do, but if you're in the area you should give it at least one try.
Stitch found a friend to watch the show with,

We rode Buzz, and of course we had to do Stitch again, headed over to Fantasyland for a few rides, and I had to watch Philharmagic at least one more time. You just can't walk by the castle without taking pictures,

It was around 1:00 pm and we had planned to be on the road by 2:00 pm so we started making our way out of the park, we made one last photopass stop,

Stopped at the candy store for snacks to take on the ride, and ran into Chip and Dale as we were taking a final bathroom break. This turned out to be a great way to end our trip, I had a bag of Chip and Dale pretzels in my hand, Dale saw them and stole them from me and tried to run off with them, his "keeper" fussed at him and made him give them back. Stitch loved this and we got some great shots,

We caught the bus back to OKW and started our journey home. We made a stop in Gainesville for lunch/dinner and made it to our hotel in Tallahassee for the night. I had splurged and booked us into a nice hotel with a hot breakfast buffet for the night, Grumpy wasn't too happy with the prospect of spending the extra money but it was too late.
Our room was pretty warm when we arrived but I didn't think much about it until we had been there a while and it didn't cool off. I contacted the front desk and they sent someone up to check it, the AC unit was frozen, so they moved us to another room, the second room had a horrible smell in it, come to find out they had just replaced the carpet, well with my asthma and all the problems I had been having all week this wouldn't do either, so they moved us again. After getting settled in we all took our showers and went to sleep, around 11:30 pm we were awakened to the sound of someone trying to get in, with all the changes that were made they didn't have us listed in the room and had assigned the room to someone else later.
Well to the delight of Grumpy they comped our room and breakfasts and didn't charge us anything at all. He said he'd play musical rooms again if it meant we didn't have to pay. :rotfl::rotfl:
The lump in the bed is actually Stitch,

So in conclusion,
In spite of the problems we had a good time, Stitch was happy, Grumpy actually got some much needed rest and still had a trip to Disney.
We were early for most of our ADR's and were seated prior to our ADR time.
Even with this, I think we will be venturing off site for more meals in the future, Disney restaurants are pretty expensive for what we had, and I'm sorry to say that our service wasn't great, not horrible but not great, with the exception of LeCellier our server there did a great job.
We hit it lucky with transportation, our longest wait was 15 minutes and there was no one at the stop when we got there so it's pretty likely that the bus had just been there.
Even with the risks involved in renting points we will continue to do so, you just can't beat the value.
As far as the rides and nighttime activities we missed, I definitely want a do over, and those are already planned. We have two short trips planned to meet some fellow DIS'ers, one in August and one in October, followed by a week long trip in November.
Thanks for reading along, I wish I had the flair for writing that some of you have but I don't see a future in journalism for me.
