I don't usually do this, but I am just so upset. Three Pittsburgh Police officers were shot and killed and two were injured as they responded to a domestic dispute a short way from my home this morning. The man who did it was shot but he is alive. Please send your prayers and thought to the brave officers and their families.

Ugh! :sad1:
Our thoughts and prayers to their families.

All Policemen and policewomen should be recognized for their bravery, sacrafices, and service everyday. They are truly amazing people for what they do.

That is awful. I hate hearing about these situations. I have a cousin who is a state trooper in California. Last I heard he was in Los Angeles it makes me freeze everytime I hear about something like this happening. Prayers for the officers and their families.

Don't things like this make you wish you could sprinkle a little pixie dust all over the whole world to make it all a better place. pixiedust:

Our law enforcement officers put themselves in danger daily for our safety, I can't say enough good about them. They deserve our praise and our support.
My heart goes out to the family members, co-workers, and friends of the officers that were killed.

Kim, I couldn't believe it when I turned on the news this am. The more I hear about it the sadder it gets. It's senseless.

I pray for their families and the police community.

My dad is a retired cop, but my SM is still working. There was a terrible shoot out in my town one day. Thankfully dad wasn't working.
I will pray for these families. Such a terrible story. All law enforcement families stick together like one big family.

It is horrible. More details are forthcoming, and this was truly terrible. Premeditated, afraid Obama was going to take everyone's guns, etc.
A 12 year veteran who happened to be in the area, and rushed over to help. The other two were with the police for two years.
Wives, kids, parents, siblings.
Another was shot in the hand.
Another broke his leg going over a fence to get in.
The shooter is still alive.

I heard about this today, it's awful

I work for the Philadelphia Police (note: FOR, not AM) and it's something we're all too familiar with.

They really give it their all, and it's so so sad to hear stories like this.

Kim-- thanks for letting us know. We are in OH right now visiting family and not really watching the news. This reminds me to hug my husband just a little tighter and never take advantage of any moments together. Just this past Oct one of my husband's friends and squadmates was in the line. His dept is still recovering from the loss of a brother.
