I haven't seen any pictures of the 2 BR. However, the 2 BR is pretty much just a connecting one bedroom and studio.

The public DVC website is a great resource for floor plans and rooms tours for all of the resorts. The BLT page is here: http://dvc.disney.go.com/dvc/guest/resorts/resortDetail?id=BayLakeTower_GuestLandingPage Click on the 360-degree room tour.

There are some dedicated 2BR at BLT so they might look different

they will - the second bedroom should have 2 queen beds in it.

the place doesn't open until August 4. - so you will have to wait

but until then

Can you request a dedicated 2 BR, my Mom is going and will throw a fit if she has to sleep on a sleeper sofa.

you can definitely request - but state that you want a 2-bedroom with the second bedroom - 2 queens.

won't be sure until this thing opens that it doesn't have the problems of BCV.

all of BCV dedicated were surpose to be 2 queens - but the plans were not done correctly so only some of them could be 2 queens. It is the only (so far) DVC resort with 2-bedroom dedicated that part of the dedicated has the queen and sleeper sofa.

Two queens is going to be a very tight fit! Unless they do away with the kitchenette?

Two queens is going to be a very tight fit! Unless they do away with the kitchenette? There is no kitchenette in the 2nd bedroom of a dedicated 2BR.

But I do agree with you that two queens will be a tight fit! I noticed in the model room that the end of the sofa (which is full size not queen size) was very close to the sliding door. Plus, in the studios the bathroom vanity is in the kitchenette area so with no kitchenette, I wonder where the bathroom vanity be located in those rooms?

my guess would be the bathroom - there is room there.

but not even sure with a dedicated if the plan would be the same.

the second (kids) bedroom might be further back - so the noise at night from the fireworks will not be a problem. of course with no windows that might be a problem.

I found a floor plan for the dedicated 2BR. There is a floor plan for the studio on the same page so you can compare the two: http://www.contemporaryresort.net/bltfloorplan.html

In place of the vanity that they have in studios, the second bedroom has a sink against the wall in a separate little alcove that also serves as the entrance to the room with the toilet and tub. With no kitchenette, they gain back enough space for a second queen bed. There appears to be about half as much closet space in the 2nd bedroom than there is in the studio.
