[On Thursday I got sick and Friday I was not able to keep anything down I thought it was motion sickness...Shari started coughing last night. Lauren pretty much got away without any ill effects. My final dinner on the ship was chicken soup and a baked potato ha ha.[/I]

[Just curious though.....anyone bring any sickness home with them? Both my kids are sick. My daughter has a hacking cough. My son is running a fever today.. (a kid next to us at dinner in TopSiders barfed all over and we were hoping he was suffering from motion sickness, and not a bug, though we saw him the next day out and about and he looked better)

My son, who is 23, got sick Wed. night and was in the bathroom all night. He was not able to eat all day Thursday but was OK by Friday.

I got some kind of head cold and sore throat on Thursday and still have it. I went to the doctor today and it was negative for strep. Seems that it was just a sinus infection and I am on anti-biotics now.

We had a WONDEFUL cruise!!
It was so nice to meet come of you and the the FE was fantastic. My kids thought it was so much fun!

Yep, I think I am going to do the Eastern next year in March. Thanks for all the help in getting my bearings on how a cruise works. I now see why everyone loves them so much.

We did our first cruise in May and as far as the weather goes I think that it is a little more predictable then. I think the next one we do may be in April/May because of the weather.

We had an amazing time as well!! Such beautiful weather.

Sorry to those that got sick... thankfully we missed all that! Steve, how was the onboard doctor for asthma? Both our kids have it and I have always worried a little that a flareup would occur while onboard.

This was our smoothest cruise ever for sure in terms of rough seas. We booked another Wonder cruise for November, to combine with our DVC incentive cruise to make a back to back! Woohoo! If he wasn't already, my DH is now 100% convinced DCL is the only way to go. We had a great time just us adults. And after seeing all that Carnival mess in Grand Cayman, we will never try them out. Yuck! Not our cup of tea.

Julia, we had a terrible flight home too. I am a seasoned flyer, and honestly I was truly in fear. Terrible, horrible turbulence for the last hour of the flight. People screaming, kids crying. I just clutched my tray table and prayed! I think that undid all the good my two massages in the Vista Spa had done for me! LOL! But we did make it home safe and sound. :thumbsup2

I was impressed with the onboard medical treatment. The nurse checked him out first and then checked to see that the o2 level in his blood was low and had them get the doc in to see Ethan quickly. We heard them say that they had a very sick kid in there and that "Nick" needed to get in there right away. Ended up giving him a breathing treatment and a presecription for steroids. I was very glad that we had the resource available to us on board.!!! The called the next day to check on him to make sure that he was doing better. As far as the bill...the charges for everything were not as bad as I had epected. The charges for the treatment and the meds were very comparable to charges here at home. I think the charge to just see a doctor was like 140ish...ended up being a 237 dollar bill. I do not regret paying it one bit. I can turn the paper work into our insurance company and they will pick up 80% of it.

Had a great time on the cruise. Next trip is to Disney World in May 2011, such a long time away. Hope to get on another cruise sometime soon. We were really disappointed about not being able to go to Castaway Cay but we made due on the ship. Only 2 people sick in our party. My mom hasn't been able to eat in 2 days and my daughter threw up on our trip home but doing well now. Had a great time with the FE, the kids really enjoyed getting the gifts. Thanks to all.

What happened? I remember hearing sirens while we were either tendering back to the ship or a little later once we were on. Did that have something to do with it?

Ended up taking both kids to the doc yesterday-they both stayed home from school after 2 days with fevers. Daughter has this horrible cough too. Nothing major though-most likely something viral, most likely picked up on the planes or the ship. Felt bad keeping the kiddos home an extra day after missing a full week of school. We are slowly getting back into the routine of normal life....not easy though :)

We made it back to NY safely and happily found 90% of our snow was now gone! I'll take the rain over snow anytime :)

My family had a great time. We did show up to the meet up at about 3:30, only a couple people in the area and nobody seemed to be looking for anyone else so we assumed we missed it.

All in all we had a fantastic time.

Just curious though.....anyone bring any sickness home with them? Both my kids are sick. My daughter has a hacking cough. My son is running a fever today.. Thanks everyone for the FE gifts, they were all fantastic! That was a lot of fun to participate in. Hopefully everyone got theirs from us, I think I had written one of the room numbers wrong and had to go by process of elimination, and another room didn't have anything hanging but I could tell the two rooms were together.

Anyway, hope you all had a great vacation.

Just checked in today and thought I would let you know you are not alone. Two parents and all 4 children in our party were ill. Oldest granddaughter hospitalized Saturday in Orlando for IV fluids and meds. It started the second day (so they might have already been sick) with the youngest, then the mother, dad, sibling, sibling and sibling with the flulike symptoms throughout the entire week lasting 2 to 3 days each. Now that they are home, it has started up again as fever and respiratory for two siblings and the dad. None of the "oldsters" in our group got sick. Maybe the two different flu shots we got actually helped out this year!

Everyone get well soon and it has been nice posting here and thanks for all your help, hints and encouragement! Sorry we all missed Castaway Cay. :( I left most of my $$$ in the spa!

it sounds like several of us came down with something on the cruise...We are still trying to get rid of it here.

Hi everyone! My family is talking about taking this same cruise in 2011. Anyone write up a trip report on this cruise? How was the weather?
