Well, we've booked 3 days/2 nights at DLH from 18th-20th April as a special treat - two family birthdays at the beginning of the month, and they think we're going to the Cheyenne - and have taken the Premium HB option following the dicussions elsewhere on the site.

This leaves the question of which of the two hotel restaurants are going to be most appropriate for dinner, bearing in mind that we'll have a 7 year old and a 5 year old with us! Said small people are seasoned hands at restaurants and can behavbe well enough, so it's more a question of diversions (eg character interaction) and child-friendly atmosphere.

Advice welcome!

We went to Inventions in December with our two who are also 7 and 5.

Very friendly waiter who was great with the children.

Excellent character interaction, and fabulous food which the children also loved.

We didn't go to CG, so can't comment on that one!

We've been to both with a 7 and 4 yr old, and both were very successful visits!

They are both very different restaurants - the only thing they have in common apart from the fact they are in DLH is that they both have wonderful food

CG isnt a character meal so would your children be disappointed to miss out on this?

CG is more an adult environment but children are treated really well - DD was called princess all evening by our waiter

Many thanks for the helpful replies.

I see on the trip reports board a thread suggesting that the breakfast is the same scrum it is at all the other hotels (we stayed at DCR previously, hence no such problems). Is it really all that bad, given the lower number of rooms and higher-end nature of the hotel?

Hi.. were going at the same time as you too!
18th-21st April Newport Bay Club (admiral floor)

Just found out that Lucky Nugget is now not accepting HB plus vouchers for meals instead its face value and we make up the difference.

We have reservations at Walts, Plaza Gardens and Lucky Nugget, but thinking of changing Plaza Gardens to Rendez Vous des Stars/Resturante des stars.

Decisions decisions ....:cool1:

Let me guess:

1. Cheap Ryanair flights from Prestwick

2. Last weekend of the Scottish school holidays.
