My bf really wants to go to Le Cellier and, according to the Dining Plan PDF (http://adisneyworld.disney.go.com/media/wdw_nextgen/CoreCatalog/WaltDisneyWorld/en_us/PDF/2009%20Disney%20Dining%20Plan%20-%20Walt%20Disney%20World.pdf) I've been looking at, this particular restaurant is categorized as table service and nothing more. He says LC is expensive (no doubt) and there's no way we could use 1 table service credit and get whatever entree/dessert we want.
So, when using the dining plan, are there any limitations to it; are you only allowed to order certain dishes/visit certain restaurants per your level of the dining plan and/or is this list I've been referencing out of date?
Much thanks in advance!

Enjoy Le Cellier all you want...on the basic dining plan (the 1 TS, 1 CS and 1 snack per person per night)
DH, myself, DD (19yrs old) and her BFF (18 yrs old) went to Le Cellier last May, on the basic dining plan.
First off, they bring you a basket of the famous bread sticks (which are really like mini loaves of bread, not hard "sticks" at all)
For our Dining Plan meals, we ordered the following:
DH and I each ordered: x 2
Le Cellier Mushroom Filet Mignon - with wild mushroom risotto, white truffle and herb butter sauce $34.99
DD ordered:
New York Strip Steak - with bercy butter, balsamic red onions, watercress, and roasted Yukon potatoes, $34.99
DD's BFF ordered:
Pan Seared King Salmon - served over mixed lentil ragout with shallot-lime butter $23.99
We all had soft drinks for our beverage, about $2.50 per person
For Dessert-
DH had
Chocolate "Moose" - Chocolate Mousse rolled in Toasted Chocolate Crumbs with Maple Leaf Antlers $5.99
I had
Chocolate on Chocolate Whiskey Cake - finished with Honey-Thyme Anglaise and a Chocolate-Vanilla Walnut Sauce $7.99
DD & her BFF both had the:
Maple Creme Brulee $6.99 X 2
Total bill for the 4 of us, including tax was about $178.00. All covered by the basic Disney Dining Plan. We left a 20% tip, so that meal "cost" us a total of $35 for 4 adults, eating really, really nice entrees with sides, and decadent desserts.

Definitely--that's what's tempted me to reconsider WDW this year.

Check out this website for a list of restaurants that take the Dining Plan. http://www.wdwinfo.com/disney-dining-plan.htm The ones in the last column take two credits, the rest all one. There are some exclusions of appetizers and entrees (lobster comes to mind). Check out the FAQ sticky on the Dining Plan subboard. I'm pretty sure there's a list on there.

The only restaurant that I can think of that serves lobster is Narcoossees (2 credits) and you can order the lobster there on the dining plan. There is really almost no limit on what you can order other than the items that state they are for 2 people, unless the 2 of you want to share.

The only limits I can think of are Teppan Edo doesn't let you order Sushi. If you're paying out of pocket go for lunch it's a little cheaper, and a lot of the same items.

The problem is that DDP has caused Disney to dumb down the menu because people tended to choose the most expensive item on the menu. Most top end filets, lobster, crab is all gone from the menus except at the signature level.

If DDP used to include those "top end" items, then I think it used to be a steal of a deal! I don't blame Disney for changing that. If people still want "top end," they can use two credits and get "top end," or pay OOP
I think we can just be content with meals that might not be "top end," but people still enjoy these meals a lot! DDP still offers tremendous flexibility, and was designed to make vacations care-free, with some savings possibilities. While I love getting bargains on anything I can (and I may not be getting as great of a deal as it might have been at one time), I'm still ok with the current structure. It serves its purpose.

4 times on the DDP in the last 3 years and 4 trips to Le Cellier, me and DW have always gotten the Le Cellier Mushroom Filet Mignon and was always great.

There are very few limitations on the DDP, and most of those are at DTD restaurants.
If you think Le Cellier is a "steal" for 1 TS, look at Tutto Italia. You could easily order entree, dessert, and drink that have a "book price" greater than 1 day's DDP cost, especially when you figure in the tax on OOP. (On DxDP, the appetizer knocks that up to the realm of a $60+ meal for 1 credit...)

There is no exclusion of lobster - it just disappeared from all the menus besides Narcoosees. You might find a lobster bisque or a lobster appetizer in some places, and they are not excluded.

I have noted filet at several restaurants (and, no, I haven't checked them all)...Le Cellier & the Wave come to mind off the top of my head.
I never noticed crab much, and, yes, lobster is only at 2TS
