I am flying Westjet from Toronto to MCO. Do I claim my luggage myself or does Disney do this? I thought they only claimed your luggage for specific air lines but can't remember, it's been 4 years since I've done this.

We always use Magical Express to pick up the luggage, it doesn't matter what airline you're coming in on just that you're staying at a Disney hotel. You do have to take your own luggage to check-in on your flight home.

I used west-jet in September and they brought my bags to the resort while I was at HS. I will be using it in May.

The important part of the equation is if you can pre-clear US Customs before your departure flight to Orlando. If you can, you are fine, ME will take care of your luggage. If you can't pre-clear US Customs you will have to collect your bags at MCO, go through US Customs at MCO and then give your bags back to ME.

Our travel agent advised us not to put our tags on our bags, to grab them ourselves. We arive in at 10:15pm so she said our bags can take up to 5 hours:scared1: to reach you. So make sure if it is a late flight you grab your own.

Anyone arriving after 10pm is required to collect their own bags..they will not do it for you at all--they recently put this in place. LOL..so if you wait for them to do it..you will be waiting a whole lot more than 5 hours! You may want to let your TA know about this:goodvibes

We claim ours anyways just because it takes SOOOOO long.

Take a small carry-on with essentials in it, check the rest. When you get to the resort, leave the carry-on bag in your room and head to the parks. If your room isn't ready you can leave all the carry-ons you have with the front desk.

We've used ME 4 times, never had a problem.

This is absolutely correct!

And those leaving for MCO from Toronto will pre-clear customs, so if the OP is arriving before 10 pm, they can put those yellow tags on and not pick up their luggage at the airport -- works for all flights where you don't have to go through customs at MCO.
