Well, I asked my TA to still try to get us on the PC cruise. We are only trying for Cat. 10s so I don't think they will be sold out. I just hope that the prices stay reasonable or we will have to cancel. I really hate not knowing the price before you book.:headache:
It will be my Hubby and I and our three boys. I will have to take the older two out of school but I think the experience will be worth it.

Hi all! My name is Linda and I'm fairly new to the boards and definitely new to cruising - but count me in as a hopeful for this cruise! :thumbsup2
It would be me (24 at time of sailing) and my boyfriend (also 24 at time of sailing)... and possibly a few friends. No kids, just big kids ourselves. :woohoo:
The dates fit perfect for us, but it's more a matter of pricing and ability to book.
Since we are completely new to cruising in general, and DCL specifically, we are pretty lost (no idea where to start! - but have tried to start by reading every single thread in the DCL forums, haha!)... so hopefully we'll see you on board. Hehehe. :goodvibes
Welcome to the DIS family! I would do two things if I were in your position. I would send a request right away to Dreams Unlimited and I would be on the phone and on the internet (wait, that makes it 3 things!) when they open the booking. If you can get in the first tier then you get a better price. Crazy booking these things. Then....Dreams Unlimited will send you a quote which you have a couple of days to accept if it is better than what you got on the phone/internet early first day or if what you already have booked is a better price then you can just decline DU offer and transfer what you have booked to them. You still get their onboard credit either way, along with their amazing service and you get the best price you can hope to get.
Hope that made sense.
As for us, we have decided we want to wait and sail on the new ship. :dance3: The PC cruise was amazing but for the money I think we want to do something new.

Welcome! This is the perfect place for you to start! I said earlier that I really don't believe there will be the quick sell-out that the other PC cruises have had simply because of the Alaska and new ships happenings. I think you'll be able to get on.
Also, as lbgraves, Lisa stated on another thread, using 2 or 3 ways to book could result in higher tier prices than necessary for everyone else. I would definitely use a good "Disney" TA (someone who realizes the importance of being quick if necessary), OR book online OR book by telephone. Doing all 3 does cause prices to increase.
Good luck and we'll see you onboard!:thumbsup2

Anyone else feel like DCL has us playing the waiting game for the whole month of Sept. First we waited for the announcement on 9/11 :surfweb:, now we're waiting for category changes and pricing, then it will be booking.:rolleyes1. When do we get our life back. :upsidedow

I'm just putting my faith in DU. If I get it, it was meant to be. If not, I'll sail the Magic Western itinerary. One day at a time and roll with the punches, or should I say waves?

We are definitly in :cool1:
We are doing the Baltic in July so had hoped this date would be later but we like the port changes and friends that are going from previous PC cruise !
Our TA has deposit still from DCL we switched so she'll get us in and I am not worried as I see alot of people are switching to Alaska and the dates arent working out. The nice thing is it will be a little bit cooler going through the canal ( which we'll be doing on our 19th wedding anniversary).

Hi all. I'm the original OP. As excited as we are for this trip, DH and I had a serious talk last night. By the time we travel back and forth and do the 15 night cruise it will almost be 3 weeks that DD is out of school. DH is disabled so we need to make sure add time for transfers and any other possible emergency. Even though she'll only be in 5th grade, its a long time to be out of school. She'll also just be coming off Christmas vacation so we're talking almost 5 weeks out, even though 2 would be school vacation.
So sadly, we decided to wait for the new ship and possible Europe the following summer. Now I'll go off in the corner and cry a little. I HATE having to be the adult sometimes! Why can't I just stomp my feet and say "BUT I WANT TO GO!!!" :headache:  :sad2: :sad1:
I hope everyone has a great time though.

Scottishwee35I have a feeling we will be cruising for a long time so yes, we can always go another time.
And DH is really hoping to do something with the new ship. I told him that the rumors are it doing the 3 and 4 night trips. He said "Well we'll just have to do B2B." Umm, okay fine by me. :rotfl2: Even though I would rather have PC and not the Bahamas I won't turn down time on the boat. And he's never been to Europe so he is chomping at the bit. As he uses an ECV to get around I think using the DCL for a hotel room will be the best way to go. I at least know that he can get a good night's sleep.
Now if only they would go to Scotland as that's one of the places that I haven't been. :thumbsup2 :)

I think I must be very lucky that I had been Med 07 and Panama Canal 08 with Disneycruise as these were so awesome ... my son always crying when come off the ship.... no wonder he must enjoyed himself...
Nowaday we realised that our kids are grown up and more expensive for us to pay full price for flight to USA... I would love to see new ship but we booked with royal carribbean for my special birthday ... sometime I wish to wait a bit longer to see what disney cruise will be planning for 2011 with a dream ship...
maybe we change our mind about 2011 and we wait and see...
anyway, why not come over to Scotland and there is many so beautiful country like north west... mostly beautiful lake to see... :thumbsup2:rolleyes:
Mind you I am still waiting to see if disney cruise will be sailing to Scotland at Forth Bridge...:laughing: (as my dream is hoping in one day)...

As we've decided not to sail on the PC cruise, I feel it is only right turn over control of the thread to someone that is actually going to sail. I want to make sure that everyone can alter the original thread, plan FE, meets, etc.
The only way to do that is to request that this thread be closed and a new one started. MommaluvsDis will be starting a new thread as soon as the mods close this one. The new thread title will be:
From WDW To DL with love - January 06, 2011
Enjoy your cruise everyone!! :)

Well, I just called DVC Member Services to see if they had points charts for this cruise.
Cat 5a - 591 per adult
Cat 5b - 572
Cat 5c - 559
Cat 6a - 534
Even with 3 years of points (we currently have 350/year) we don't have enough, though we could rent some to add to the total, but we'd have to do that by Monday - which is short notice. The other option is to pay for 1 adult with cash, which is on the order of $3500-$4000, which is not a good value, when we could get a 14-night Panama Canal cruise in a verandah on Celebrity for two people for the same price as one on the Wonder.
I think we'll not be on this sailing. We'll just have to go to Disneyland or Disney World, instead!
