Good Morning! I am excited to be hosting this week’s challenge!

I have a friend whose favorite character is Donald Duck. But he always complains that Donald gets no respect. So in honor of my friend, the challenge this week is a color challenge based on Donald Duck.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v339/luvsdisney/Colorchallenge-2.jpg

Rules:

1. Layout must be Disney related
2. Use only the colors listed: Black, White, Red, Orange, Yellow and Blue. The colors don’t have to be exact, but can be shades of the colors listed above. And you don’t have to use all of the colors.
3. Use an alpha AND a font for your title
4. Use at least one patterned piece of paper and one solid paper.
5. Add some string.

Here’s my layout:

http://www.scrapmatters.com/gallery3/data/500/medium/Project83.jpg (http://www.scrapmatters.com/gallery3/showphoto.php/photo/31255/ppuser/1174)

You have until midnight next Tuesday (4/7) to post your layout. Two winners – one chosen by me and one chosen at random - will win these Word Art packs that I created:

Cool layout! And my dad would agree, Donald doesn't get enough respect! He can talk like DD, and all the neighborhood kids would always come asking to play with Mr. Donald Duck. It was pretty funny!

Janis, I want you to know that if it weren't for you, I never, EVER in my life would've scrapped a page like this. I kept wanting to add brown and green, so I just settled on a kit that was mostly blue. Sneaky, but it worked.

Thanks for hosting!

Wow, Bob - what stunning photos! I love your page. And I'm extremely jealous that you got to take a trip just to shoot photos. That would be a dream of mine. Fantastic job!

I know! I thought about putting a red heart on the corner of his photo, but then I'd need to explain it to DH! :rotfl2:

The first time I saw Soarin' I about flipped. I had no idea what we'd see, and when I saw the Camarillo orange groves I felt like I had been transported back home. I knew what it was just by the hills! I grew up just a few miles away from there and I think that there is no lovelier sight in the world.

Quiltymom: I'm glad that I 'challenged' you! I love the way you hung the bracket and the journaling cloud. And the balloon was the perfect touch!

We rode Soarin' for the first time at California Adventure. What a great ride! And Patrick is great! Though I tend to think of him as Puddy or Kronk!

boBQuincy: Your photos are amazing! I love how you captured the movement of the monorail. And your title alpha is wonderful! Terrific job!

Thank you both for playing!

And don't forget the wolf from "Hoodwinked" or perhaps his greatest role, "The Tick"! ;)

I had a hard time incorporating the string, I tried curly string first and didn't like the look, so I found some straight string and liked it! I still may add something to that big blank space on top. Any ideas what might look good there?

I agree with this idea, you could use the oil spats to make a background for the journaling.

I think it might work, I've just got to think of something to say, and I'll try the oil splat idea from janette, that could be pretty cool.
Thanks

I love seeing everyone’s take on this challenge!

Photobee: So cute! The red balloon that matches Pooh’s is the perfect touch. And I love the little bee!

VacationKicks: I never would have thought of using straight string! But it fits your layout perfectly. Love the paper, too. I agree with janette and QuiltyMom about using that space for journaling.

mumloveseeyore: Love your use of selective coloring! And I like the polka dots that match Minnie’s dress. Sure, go ahead and use ribbon! I’ve just been obsessed with string lately!

Hi everyone!!! Hope you're all doing well!
It's been several weeks since I've had a chance to participate in a challenge, and I've missed them. This is a great one!!! I'm off to my dad's for lunch, then I hope to come back and create a layout tonight.

Since I've been away, I did finish my digi Disney 2007 book!! It felt so good to get that wrapped up. I'm uploading it for printing soon. yeah!!! Never to fear, my daughter and I just got back from our mother/daughter Disney World trip not too long ago... so I've still got plenty to work with! LOL!!

Everyone have a super day!! I hope to post a layout tonight!

Love the ones I've seen here so far! You are a bunch of talented ladies!!

I took so many pictures of the American Idol Experience, that I had to go with two pages. The font I used is called Plastique. You may not be able to tell, but I did use two papers. I layered a solid paper on top of the patterned paper and reduced the opacity.

Note: I see my string didn't carry over to the right side. I'll correct it later tonight.

susan0326: Wow! Great pics! I love how you've anchored the string, and the mike and the music notes really pull it all together.

janette: Love the shirts! I often tease my husband that I'm going to get one that says "I'm with Grumpy". :lmao: Really like the layering under the pictures.

BooToo: Your little girl is just the cutest thing! I love the alpha you used and the way you added your date. Very pretty!

I almost have both pages of the spread done, but I need to journal. This side meets the requirements, so I'll post it now. (ADDED SECOND PAGE) By the way, anyone who has gone to the Revue, will you look at the names along the bottom of the picture and tell me if I got the cast in order that they are pictured?

terri24601: This is great! I love your red paper, it looks like a cowboy bandanna. Terrific pictures, too. We haven't seen this show in so long, I think it's time we see it again.

Pooh46: Isn't this a great kit? I love your composition. And the blue in Alice's dress, the title and flower really makes it pop. Lovely!

Whew, I finally got a layout done for this challenge. I'm having scrappers block, plus I'm out of town with very little time to think about this. I'm not overly thrilled with this, but oh well...

First, I'd like to thank everyone who participated in this challenge with a little gift of some word art:

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v339/luvsdisney/LoveWordArt-1.jpg

Check your PM and let me know if you didn't receive it.

Now to post the winners. The random draw was susan0326 with her rockin' American Idol Experience:

Thanks so much Janis! The prizes are fabulous!

Congrats Quiltymom!

All the layouts were incredible once again!

Now on to week #52... I've been able to participate in every challenge so far! I'm so happy that I've been able to do this and feel proud that I've stayed with it. I've had lots of personal challenges this year (six surgeries in my family just since this past January!), but I've been able to fit in my layouts each week so that I can keep my mojo up! It works to keep going even when you don't have time but to just throw something together. Thanks to all of you incredible people for inspiring me the past year through these challenges! You rock! Seriously!
