The following is the same as the other first posts. For those of you new to our DIS Meet thread - WELCOME. There is plenty of good info in this post.

As usual, I'll be back here to update this post periodically. I will try to keep important information up here for all to reference as well as for all our new friends who come to cruise with us. If something of importance comes up, PM me and I will add the link.

We have dubbed this cruise "The Bash on the Boat" because so many people are celebrating birthdays or anniversaries on this cruise. You will also see "KK2" in the title. As you will read, many of us just sailed together on the 10/20/07 Western Cruise. So, with many of us returning here, we are dubbing this KK2. For those of you who didn't sail with us, please don't feel that you are not part of the group. We are a very open and welcoming/friendly bunch. We had such a great cruise last time, but feel it will be even better this time. Come along and enjoy the fun. We will get off-topic many times over the next 2 years, but it is a great way to get to know everyone.

Incase anyone is wondering what the FO game we play here on the B.O.B. cruise meets thread, he is the explanation:

FO is a game (for lack of a better description) that was started on the Konked Kruiser thread that some of us belonged to for the October 07 cruise. Don't ask me who started it or how.

Anyway, the game in a nutshell....if you post, and your post is the beginning of a page, then you try to get the second post on the page also. It means you have started a "Fresh One" or "First One" (I forget what the actual term was).

Now, this isn't always as easy as it seems - if there are multiple posters on at the same time, and someone else gets the second post, you don't get to "claim the FO". The 40 second rule between postings comes into play.

Arleen - the wine tasting was good and Rick enjoyed the beer tasting (there are two tastings, with different beers at each session). I didn't enjoy the Margerita or Martini Tasting...not my cup of tea.

Hey Andy! I'm sorry I missed you. I've been popping in and out all week. My brother wants to use my backyard as the location for his son's birthday party, so I've been trying to get my yard in shape for the occasion. We have two huge redwoods in the backyard that have never been trimmed. As a result, their branches sweep all the way to the ground and create a dark shaded area under them. It's not a bad place but the spiders and such think so too. I decided that I wanted to reclaim that area of the yard and cut all the branches up to about 8 feet. Now there is an open airy shaded area beneath the redwoods. However, once I did that I found that termites have laid waste to the supports of the backyard fence. Worse yet the only thing holding that fence up was the downswept branches of the redwoods. Since I really don't have the money this year to replace the fence (And I can't rely on my backyard neighbor to help me with the cost, he's poor as dirt!) I had to install supports to hold the fence up until I can afford to replace the entire thing myself. I'm planning to place pavers under the trees with simple benches and I installed some lighting to add a mood to the area. Yesterday I rolled the firepit out to the area and we roasted hot dogs and s'mores for dinner. Had a great time!

I am posting really quick as I have a breakfast meeting with some friends after I get the kids on the bus this morning.

I'm planning to place pavers under the trees with simple benches and I installed some lighting to add a mood to the area. Yesterday I rolled the firepit out to the area and we roasted hot dogs and s'mores for dinner. Had a great time!

That's cool. WL is one of the resorts that I would love to stay at someday. Elaine is kind of grumbling that my heart is set on Port Orleans Riverside for MNSSHP, but I told her it would be a great resort to spend a day at. DD is just a boat ride away for lunch and other stuff. There is a decent pool for the kids, etc.

She just doesn't like spending so much more over the value, but for this, I think it is worth it since we won't be at the MK until 4 or so.

When she was originally given immunity I think that she was just told that she had immunity and wasn't told, or at least not on camera, that there were guidelines to that immunity. In fact when they did the challenge she was told that if she won she would get a 1 lb advantage to put on someone elses weight. So I thought that she was totally safe for this episode, when they said the weight thing I thought that was just wrong. Little shady to me. I loved what Sione or Felipe said in the voting though, he was so right.

I'll have to watch the beginning on DVR carefully & let you know. I thought that it was right that Nicole went home - she proved she could do it at home & then couldn't maintain at the ranch. I feel the same way. We'd like to try all of them. We really enjoyed BWV at Christmas last year. The location was awesome! We went over to Beach Club one night for marshmallow roasting and a movie on the beach. My kids loved it. The only other we've visited is OKW and that was wonderful, too. it was our first time in a DVC resort and I have to say the size of the room was fantastic. It could have used a little refurbishment, but being it was our first time, it didn't really bother us. In June we are staying at AKV, and I'm really anxious to get there. I'm hoping the construction isn't too loud. In 2011, I think we may try the treehouses; we'll try to get a look at them this summer and let Emily choose I think. The 2011 trip will be right after her graduation. I think Becky and Cheryl are planning something like that, too. I'll try to get pics in June.......

Yesterday I played an unintentional April fools joke on myself and drove 40 miles to the restaurant. I pulled up and didn't see any of their cars. I called my one friend who organizes it and he said, "its tomorrow" as he laughed at me. I was a little grumpy for the 40 minute drive home. :lmao:

BCV is our favorite too. Both atmosphere & location are perfect! Didn't care so much for SSR. Great location but didn't like the hallway/entrance so much. Who knows, maybe someday we'll stay at WLV even if only for a couple days just to say we did it!

We've gotten to where we like to drive to the parks. We bought AP's last July, so the parking was free. I like the busses though. It's kinda part of the experience. But when they are slow, it's no fun at all. :)

She leaves next Fri., April 10, out of OHare and will get there in the morning of the 11th (she is hoping to sleep the whole way there so she doesn't have jet lag) and she comes home on April 18. It was hard to believe that she found those great prices for the flights then because it is during her Easter vacation which is a good thing because this way she doesn't miss any school. She is famous for overpacking so that is going to be a challenge and that's why I said it was a job for this weekend because I'll have to work hard on keeping her packing light :lmao:

Little ticked off on how the outcome was. Don't tell someone they have immunity and then at the last minute change the rules on it.

I was wondering about that myself. Maybe it was "in" the rules but never announced before. Kind of shady though, it's a shame the show ended the way it did last night. I think it would have been better for the show if the person voted off had stayed longer.

That was the fun part of me. I loved helping with the menus and the cake flavors.

Kristin and Jesse got their cake from a really great little nostalgic bakery. They still have the old bakery display cases, no air conditioning, an old-time cash register and they don't take credit cards. On Sunday's they sell Ham and Rolls too. They told us that they don't believe in saving the wedding cake top for the bride and groom a year later. Instead, the kids just have to take a picture of them with their cake into the bakery and they will give them a 12" cake of their choice! What a great idea.
