Goodness, we have 6 months, 1 week, 2 days until our trip http://i298.photobucket.com/albums/mm243/mrskenchanted/Enchanted%20Smileys/tantrumwithstick.gif. WHAT?? 6 MONTHS?? http://i298.photobucket.com/albums/mm243/mrskenchanted/Enchanted%20Smileys/tantrum2.gif In the past I would only be waiting until April 12th to be making ADR’s. I would be writing/rewriting our dining choices, thinking/rethinking our itinerary, keeping myself busy. I call this my “OCDP (Obsessive Compulsive Disney Planning)”. Now Disney is making me wait until July 11th. I am not a happy person right now http://i298.photobucket.com/albums/mm243/mrskenchanted/Enchanted%20Smileys/mad.gif, because now I can’t be obsessing about changing the ADR’s that I have already scheduled in my mind.
This trip is a bit different. There is no Star Wars Weekend http://i298.photobucket.com/albums/mm243/mrskenchanted/tons%20of%20smileys/starwarsx2.gif, No Super Soap Weekend http://i298.photobucket.com/albums/mm243/mrskenchanted/Enchanted%20Smileys/no.gif to go to. It is during the Food and Wine Festival, but we aren’t adventurous eaters or wine drinkers. Although, we are going for a specific reason.
Ip-Dip
Or Ip-Dip II to be precise. For those who don’t know what the term“Ip-Dip” is I will explain it.
Ip-Dip (definition by Buzz): a person who does something stupid or annoying while at Disney.
Now a question you might already have formed in your head may be “why would you want to spend time with Ip Dip’s? They are fantastic wonderful people, that is why. They don’t care about looks, disabilities, economic status, etc. they see the person for who they are on the inside and share a love of Disney. I adore these people, the ones we know that will be there again and the ones we hope to meet.
We had a trip scheduled Oct. 25 – Oct. 30th, then someone wicked named Scott started talking about “Ip Dip II”. I am admin at Enchanted, I help with the graphics and he asked me to make a little banner with the date so that people could click it to go directly to the chit chat about it, get information, and see if they wanted to go. How could I make the banner and not go check out the thread? I had to, didn’t I?
I kept reading day after day, seeing Enchanters talking about maybe being able to come. Then the wicked Scott and his sinful partner in crime - geminiangel aka Traci started posting things like this to me:
Scott comments:
“Tracy switch it to earlier in the month, you know you want to.”
“you cannot escape us.
IP-DIP IP-DIP IP-DIP
Come Tracy and Bill, come to Ip-Dip.”
Traci’s comments:
“Come on Tracy. You guys gotta come!”
“And forget not reading this thread. Start finding a way for you and Bill to join us Missy!”
“Yeah, Bill won't be able to resist a dinner with the coolest bunch in town.”
“Come on now Tracy. Do I have to have Nova send you a message pleading with you to come? How can you turn down a 7yr old with a huge heart?”
The peer pressure was never ending. They are Ip-Dip pushers I tell you!! I caved under the pressure http://i298.photobucket.com/albums/mm243/mrskenchanted/tons%20of%20smileys/surrender.gif.
The only thing was my heart was torn, Ip-Dip has the amazing people we had a great time with last year, the first week in November has KathyRN and her family going to WDW. Bill and I had such wonderful time with our first Disney meet with them. You can’t meet a nicer family if you searched for a 100 years. Kathy is one of the sweetest, most caring people you would ever want to meet, so of course Bill and I would love to have seen them again this year, but the dates didn’t work out http://i298.photobucket.com/albums/mm243/mrskenchanted/tons%20of%20smileys/tearyeyedcrying.gif.
So now we are spending a weekend in October with our Enchanted peeps and I am happy to be able to do that.
Next installment…who the heck are we anyway?

I feel the same way about October as you do. I think our trips will overlap. It looks like you get there a couple of days earlier than I do. What, exactly, will the Ip-Dip II entail? I've never really heard of you guys but you sound like fun people.

Welcome Stacy :cool1:. Thanks for posting. We will be there Oct. 9 - Oct. 12th, just a quick weekend trip to meet up with friends. Ip-Dip II will just be us hanging out in the parks and have a meal or two together. Buzz, our fearless or insane leader depending on how you look at it is utterly hilarious. As the PTR goes on I will talk a little about the people meeting us on the journey.

I was trying to talk Shawn into a quick trip down during free dining (but as late into FD as we possibly could...like checking in on Oct 3rd, LOL), but so far, no bites! :headache: Not that it would overlap with you anyways, but I'd be close!!! :guilty:
You're gonna have a great time and I can't wait to read all about it!

In honor of the many Enchanted and DISer members with family or friends that have Autism I would like to bring attention to the fact that April is Autism Awareness Month.
- 1 in 150 individuals is diagnosed with autism, making it more common than pediatric cancer, diabetes, and AIDS combined.
- 1 in 94 boys is on the autism spectrum
- 67 children are diagnosed per day
- A new case is diagnosed almost every 20 minutes
- It occurs in all racial, ethnic, and social groups and is four times more likely to strike boys than girls.
- Autism impairs a person's ability to communicate and relate to others.
-It is also associated with rigid routines and repetitive behaviors, such as obsessively arranging objects or following very specific routines.
- Symptoms can range from very mild to quite severe.
- Autism is the fastest-growing serious developmental disability in the U.S.
- Autism costs the nation over $35 billion per year, a figure expected to significantly increase in the next decade
- Autism receives less than 5% of the research funding of many less prevalent childhood diseases
- Boys are four times more likely than girls to have autism
- There is no medical detection or cure for autism
For more information go to Autism Speaks (http://www.autismspeaks.org/index.php)

Now a little note from me:
It is very important to remember in every day life and in WDW that just because a child is not behaving in what people might label as "normal" doesn't mean that child is spoiled, being a brat, or being loud. That child might have Autism and is coping with it they only way they can. So before judging a parent, a relative, a friend, a stranger or the child look past the behavior and think that there might be factors behind it.
Thanks for reading this.

Thanks for posting that Tracy!! It brought tears to my eyes reading the last part that you added about kids behavior. There have been so many times that I've felt the need to explain Alex to people... he looks very much like his "typical" peers but can act so different sometimes. Thanks for bringing attention to the issue.

Tracy,
Thank you (again!) for doing your part to "spread the word!" :flower3:
It's so important for parents, teachers, uncles, aunts, grandparents... for everyone to realize that a small child may need early intervention if they are displaying unusual behaviors or developmental delays.
The earlier the intervention, the better the outcome!
Just like you and Bill, I will be forever grateful that Walt Disney World has such wonderful policies regarding accessibility and accommodation for those with both visible and invisible disabilities. :cloud9:

Hi Amy, you are very welcome . People need to understand that there are usually reasons why a child is acting out or not acting "normal", what ever the heck normal even is ;). Patience and tolerance is really needed in this world today.

I figured it was about time to tell you a little about us since I rambled on and on about other people in the first installment. Bill helped me pick out pictures that give examples of how we really are.
First off is the 4 legged member of the family that has never been to Walt Disney World, will never go to Walt Disney World, and dislikes WDW. Bill can attest to the fact that if we mention the word “Disney” 8 times out of 10 you will hear a sigh, moan, or other noise come from this dog. Now it might be that we talk about Disney so much that it just coincides with his noisy nature, but we tend to think it is because we have left him 6 times in a little less than 3 years to go meet Mickey and the gang.
His name is Ace, he is a 4 ½ year old Jack Russell/Rat Terrier. He is funny, playful, neurotic, and scared to death of loud noises and thunderstorms. He doesn’t care what is going on with me when it thunders he climbs up in my lap, no matter if a lap top, book, etc, is there he doesn’t care he will step on top of it to get to me.

Finally posing showing us how adorable he is:
http://i190.photobucket.com/albums/z67/mrsksomeday/acesmiley-1.jpg
Next up is my loving significant other, my spousal equivalent, my happily unmarried partner, Bill http://i298.photobucket.com/albums/mm243/mrskenchanted/Enchanted%20Smileys/awe.gif. He has Cerebral Palsy, is in a power wheelchair, has a speech impediment, can’t use his right arm-it has a mind of it’s own, and is the most intelligent person I know. He is finishing up his 4th college degree, a master’s in Rehabilitation Administration. What is the logic behind this? To have so much education people have to notice how smart he is and see past the darn chair, the speech impediment, and the right arm, to look at the MAN and give him a chance at a real job. He currently has a 3.83 GPA average, hopefully by the end of summer the classes will be completed.
Some pictures to show you Bill’s personality:
On the WDW train:

Not letting anything stop him from going to the parks:

Fun with Babs:
http://i298.photobucket.com/albums/mm243/mrskenchanted/11-08%20wdw%20trip/7%20day%207/WDW11-08874.jpg
The look I get every time we have to leave Disney:
http://i298.photobucket.com/albums/mm243/mrskenchanted/Billsad-1.jpg
This man has a smile that melts my heart, blue eyes that can mesmerize, and a sense of humor that cracks me up every day.
Lastly, there is me, Tracy. I am Disney addicted, I admit it. Completely. utterly obsessed. I was one of those “it’s for kids” people before Bill practically dragged me there in Feb. 2006. I stepped foot on property, breathed in that Disney air, saw the magical decor and was captivated. It is so hard to explain exactly what it is that makes me long to be there all the time.
Perhaps it is because being there I don’t feel judged? I am very overweight, but working on myself. At WDW I am not worried about people looking at me and making assumptions, they have their vacations on their minds not worrying about what I look like. Perhaps it is because Bill says he feels more “normal” there. He can stay in his wheelchair for many of the rides and feels like he can participate, which makes my heart swell.
Perhaps it is the sense of fantasy, where the outside world doesn’t exist, or a million other reasons. All I know is I find WDW irresistible and will be going back year after year until I am not able to anymore. Before I started trying to lose weight I didn’t like pictures being taken of myself. This past year I have been more receptive when a camera is pointed my way, before I would run. Although, I have no idea why my eyes seem to bug out of my head when I try to smile, it totally is totally hilarious to me when I look at the pictures.
Here are some pictures of me that show what I become when I am at Disney:
MMM, I will act a fool to taste the wonder that is the Grey Goose Slushie:
http://i298.photobucket.com/albums/mm243/mrskenchanted/10-08%20WDW%20Trip/2nd%20Day/WDW10-08194.jpg

At MVMCP:
http://i298.photobucket.com/albums/mm243/mrskenchanted/11-08%20wdw%20trip/photopass/image313.jpg
So that is us, a little odd, yes, but not dangerous, well maybe Bill just a little when he has been cut off for the 15th time wheeling though Disney. Please note there are more pictures of dog then there are of us because well we like him better and you will see more of us later in the TR if you are still hanging around by then. I hope you come along on the journey with us.
Next installment…Where are we staying and when?

H! :goodvibes I have always enjoyed reading along on your reports so I thought I would jump on this one too!
Thank you for posting this last part. It really is such a wonderful point ! It spoke to me so clearly because my son has been diagnosed with Sensory Integration Disorder and has difficulties with new places, loud places and new people. A couple weeks ago we went to a new restaurant with some of the moms and kids from my daughter's class. Well, DS had a meltdown, a major screaming kicking meltdown in the restaurant. I was so embarrassed and I know those people were thinking the things you posted above. *(that is a 4 year old and too old for tantrums) Eventually one of the mothers with me got him settled down by making a little mountain out of sugar and letting him play with it. (Big Sigh)
Thank you again. Looking forward to reading your report.

Hello!! You are welcome. It really aggravates me when people sit in judgement of others. They need to just mind their own business, or if they have to think about what is going on at the other table or whatever, think about what could be behind the meltdown, instead of condeming the parents for it.

The dates were decided for us by the all mighty Buzz, aka Montana Disney Fan. Here he is last Ip Dip with his lovely and wonderful wife Linnie when they saw all of us for the first time:
http://i298.photobucket.com/albums/mm243/mrskenchanted/Oct%202009/BuzzandLinnie1-1.jpg
They looked thrilled, didn’t they?? http://i298.photobucket.com/albums/mm243/mrskenchanted/Enchanted%20Smileys/laughing1.gif They actually knew we were coming, Buzz even made the ADR for that evening. Here they are while we are all talking and listening to Off Kilter:
http://i298.photobucket.com/albums/mm243/mrskenchanted/Oct%202009/BuzzandLinnie.jpg
This is the way I remember them and everyone else from that night, laughing and smiling. They (the Ip Dippers) are fantastic people, just amazing.
Jodi, aka jodster a member of the Fockers was there with her family, she might come again, I am hoping and praying she does. Here she is with me last year:

(pic stolen from someone that took it at Ip Dip)
She is a bright light in this world, has a warm brilliant smile and the sweetest soul, and she loves the COLTS!! Go Jodi!!
See why I want to go back?
We also get to meet some new people this trip. Here is Kym and her hubby Rob. She is a WDW fanatic and I love hearing about her trips!! Doesn’t it feel like you kind of “know” someone by reading about their WDW travels? I can’t wait to meet them:

We have some people that might come. Carrie was at Ip Dip last year. Her smile can light up the room, she is so sweet and kind. She says she might be able to make it this year. Here she is from last October, she is in the pink:

We are hoping many others will join us, 2 more people are coming so far if I am right and a couple more are trying to make the trip a reality. Once I get confirmation from everyone and permission I will give them a shout out.
The last 3 trips we have stayed at Pop Century. We like the place, the roll in showers are nice and big, the busses are dedicated so no sharing, and we don’t swim so the pools don’t matter to us. To me it is just a place to lay our heads. Bill on the other hand likes to try different resorts, etc. Scott kept mentioning Port Orleans Riverside (see subliminal messages again http://i298.photobucket.com/albums/mm243/mrskenchanted/Enchanted%20Smileys/hypnotize.gif). We had stayed there in Nov. 2006 on the Alligator Bayou side. Bill thought it would be fun to stay on the Mansion side and since he agreed to go to Ip-Dip I thought I could compromise on the resort choice. It is really pretty there, I just don’t think we will get to enjoy it much because we (well I) have plans, too many plans in fact. Scott was booked at Pop, but said he really wished he could do POR so with a little AP discount I suggested he book with us and then we could all stay at POR.
Oh goodness, some of you are probably thinking “Who the heck is Scott? He is Scottny on the DIS and Scott-loves-Disney on Enchanted. His love for Disney dare I say, rivals mine http://i298.photobucket.com/albums/mm243/mrskenchanted/tons%20of%20smileys/surprise-1.gif. He is my brother from another mother (Hi Scott http://i298.photobucket.com/albums/mm243/mrskenchanted/tons%20of%20smileys/wavesmile.gif).
Here is Scott at Ip-Dip last October:
http://i298.photobucket.com/albums/mm243/mrskenchanted/Oct%202009/scott-1.jpg
He is such a great guy, is so nice to everyone, and he cracks me up every day.
How do you fit in all this fun I have planned in 4 days and 3 nights? You don’t sleep!! Well not true, we have to sleep a little http://i298.photobucket.com/albums/mm243/mrskenchanted/tons%20of%20smileys/Smiley_sleeping.gifdang Bill wants to for some reason? We will get to Orlando before 11am, not sure as to when we will arrive at the resort, depends on how long MCO takes to bring Bill’s chair to him and how long it will take to get an accessible Magical Express bus to pick us up.
Here is the line up as I see it today (It will undoubtedly change many times, these things are being talked about daily):
Oct. 8, 2009: Drive to St. Louis, check into the hotel.
Oct. 9, 2009: St. Louis Airport to MCO. Check in at ME and take a bus to Port Orleans Riverside. Last time we had a problem with them not seeing that we needed an accessible room, so this time I called the special needs number directly, there is a lock/hold put on an accessible room in the Mansions section. I will call a couple of days to that number again and make sure they know we have to have a roll in shower room.
Here is where things will go one way or the other:
IF we can get into the room, we will freshen up, text with Scott to see where he is, take a boat to DTD and get lunch at T-Rex go back to the room and rest for a bit. Now I personally would rather grab a counter service at POR and lay down for a bit because we have MNSSHP that night and will have been up since about 3:30am that morning. Bill wants to see T-Rex so I am going.
IF we can’t get into the room, we will hope a bus to DHS look around and grab a counter service, with me obsessively calling until they tell us we can go to the room. Are you wondering why we aren’t just going to DTD either way? Personal care issues for Bill, if we don’t have the room we will make a stop at the First Aid station at DHS. We will then go back to the resort and get ready to meet the Enchanters for Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party. We aren’t going to stay too late, I know Bill will be tired.
Oct. 10, 2009: Epcot, rope drop if possible. The lovely Enchanters say we might be meeting this day too and some even said they would help me load Bill into Test Track, he would love that if that would happen. There might even be an Enchanted lunch somewhere. I know some of them are going to be partaking in the Food and Wine Festival. I am just making a beeline for my Grey Goose Slushie goodness!! If we aren’t too tired we will watch Illuminations.
Oct. 11, 2009: Animal Kingdom day, Ip-Dip dinner that night and who knows what after that.
Oct. 12, 2009: Disney Hollywood Studios and departure day. We just want to hang out and watch the streetmosphere people, then back to POR for ME to pick us up. We have decided to spend the night in St. Louis so I am not driving at midnight or later to get home.
I am not going to plan out this trip like I normally do. There are too many variables involving other people. I am just going to take it as a fun trip and what ever we do, we do, what ever we don’t do we will do in December. Bill will love this touring style, but I reserve the right to be a trip planning Nazi for the December trip.
So that is it, that is the plan so far, so what the heck am I going to talk about for the next 6 months?
Next installment…We are going to a party so we have to dress up, right?

Hi Jamie!! :rotfl2:about the "commando" comment. I have no idea about another PTR, maybe? This PTR was easy because we are planning it with others. We still have to see if we get the restaurants we want and if we are wearing anything special for MNSSHP, you will just have to see.

Hi Michelle!! We can't extend this trip, you know me I like Pop because it is cheaper and we can stay longer, Bill wanted POR this trip and the Poly :scared1: in December, so no adding days for Tracy this year like I usually do :sad2:. We don't spent a lot of time at the resort, we don't swim, I don't see the logic of paying that much for a place to sleep, but I have to remind myself that it is Bill's trip too.

Oh goodness I want to go to Disneyland so much!! Bill hasn't been there either. I want to do the "walking in Walt's footsteps" tour. He has always been hesitate because with WDW we can just get on ME from the airport and not have to worry about things.
I have done a little research and there are accessible shuttles to the hotels at DL and he is starting to get a little interested in it, we will see. He says if we go we have to stay at the Grand Californian because that is probably the only time we will go to California.

You will be in for a shock with actually how different Disneyland is from the Magic Kingdom and Disney World in general. The last time I was in Disney World was 16 years ago when I was 15 so I know a lot has changed. We did the Walk in Walt's Footsteps tour and really enjoyed it. I'd recommend it if you ever get to go.

Unfortunatly I don't know much about shutles to the hotels because we normally drive down when we go. It's about an 8 hour drive for us so no plane rides here. I'd love to stay at the Grand California but the price for us has been cost prohibitive especially considering we're normally there during Peak season. But I've stayed at both the Disneyland and Paradise Hotel and enjoyed them both. But I say if you can budget for it and this would possibly be a once in a lifetime trip I say go for the Grand California. It is a gorgeous hotel. I would love to hear about that trip if you get to go. Here's lots of pixiedust:pixiedust:pixiedust:pixiedust: for you guys to get to go on that trip.

We went to Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party last October with a friend we brought with us. She has barely talked to us since we came back. I wonder if we should be concerned that the Ip Dippers will not want to talk to us after this trip? Are Bill and I cursed? We shall find out I guess.
I wore a Minnie Ears headband last October.
http://i298.photobucket.com/albums/mm243/mrskenchanted/10-08%20WDW%20Trip/photopass%20pictures/image125.jpg
(The other woman kissing my man is Amy, we got a vague “hope you aren’t mad at me” text the other day but then nothing again. I am not going to be upset about it anymore, I can’t be.)
I thought that was about as much dressing up as I would do this trip.
I had said something to the affect of probably not dressing up if we went to MNSSHP.
Kym stated:
“ok laying down the law......
If i go to MNNSHP again this yr you will be dressing up with me got it.... that goes for you to scott”
I do believe Scott and I should take her seriously because she plays for a semi-pro football team http://i298.photobucket.com/albums/mm243/mrskenchanted/tons%20of%20smileys/football.gif. Hey it is ORANGE, I am representing Halloween. Somehow I don’t think this is going to fly with her. Do you?
Now there has been a lot of Halloween party talk in our home. I can go the t-shirt route no problem, Bill is more adventurous. So far here are some ideas, all Bill’s.
Bill as Indiana Jones?

Another idea:
http://i298.photobucket.com/albums/mm243/mrskenchanted/Oct%202009/walle-1.jpg
Now if we were doing this at home I could see us trying this one, but having to assemble something at WDW? Seems a little tricky, but still a possibility.
One more idea so far:
http://i298.photobucket.com/albums/mm243/mrskenchanted/10-08%20WDW%20Trip/WDW10-08111.jpg

Oh my gosh!!! This would be so fun, too!!!
One thing on this...We did a "Blue Man" deal with Lauren's powerchair for a Youth Choir concert. I will have to find a picture for you...
But basically she had her whole wheelchair outlined with this LED light that was blue. It blinked or was solid turned on. I was able, with black electric tape, to write a big XA (XA is for Chi Alpha, the name of her Youth Choir) on the back of her wheelchair by simply putting black tape over the parts of the LED light rope that I did not want to actually show. We "traced" her whole wheelchair with the blue light so that her wheelchair lit up. I will find a video or something to show you.
You could buy multiple colors of LED lights and totally outline his chair. Oh this would be so fun. I wish I could BE there! And help you do it!
I might even still have that strip of LED light... hmm....
But my favorite idea is the Wall-E. You could make it and ship it to yourself at Disney. I am thinking a big box, painted with a bronze paint...oh...how fun that would be!!!!!! :)

Thanks Jo. We tried to give her a trip to remember, I asked her all the time to speak up about the things she wanted to do. She still says it was one of the best trips she has ever had. Bill is just really hurt by her behavior.
I am selfish, I want him to be Indy, because then he could let his stubble grow out a bit. I like that look on him .
First of all...YOU HAVE TO DRESS UP! Now that we have gotten THAT out of the way!!
WHY? :rotfl:
You guys are not speaking much to Amy? How sad. :( That makes me sad! :(
Makes me really sad. We knew she would never be able to make it to Disney on her own, all she had to pay for was her part of the room and the dining, we paid for the airline, her park tickets, and the tips. I didn't mind doing it at all I wanted to spread the pixie dust, I wanted to see the magic happen to someone that has never been before, but for her to essentially stop speaking to us after the trip, is very hard to accept.

I knew you would like the Wall*E idea :thumbsup2.
You could buy multiple colors of LED lights and totally outline his chair. Oh this would be so fun. I wish I could BE there! And help you do it!
I might even still have that strip of LED light... hmm....
Do you happen to remember where you got the lights from?
But my favorite idea is the Wall-E. You could make it and ship it to yourself at Disney. I am thinking a big box, painted with a bronze paint...oh...how fun that would be!!!!!! :)
I got your mind to thinking didn't I? :rotfl2:
I like the spectro idea.
Hello, I am so torn I like that idea too.
I agree. I think it would be very unique and you would probably get lots of attention for it.
Well Bill loves attention, so he might just pick that.
Great ideas Tracy! I think either Wall-E or Spectro would be fantastic! :thumbsup2
Sorry about how things have been with Amy... :sad1:
Thanks Amy, just when I think I am past the situation with her, we get a text saying hi and she is sorry she hasn't been around and she will come by soon. Now I see it and thing blah blah blah, whatever, but it hurts Bill's feelings.

Hello, I am so torn I like that idea too.
I was just thinking as I was reading, "Gosh! I love the Wall-E idea and the Spectro idea equally!"
....but, the big question is.... what would your matching costume be???
('Cuz, you've got to match, you know!!)
You could make an EVE costume, but somehow, I just don't see you in an electrified t-shirt!! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

I was thinking Indiana Jones riding on a Spectro float :lmao:.
Oh no NOT matching :scared1:. He has been calling me Eva (how Walle says Eve) for 3 days, he is a nut. I think I would do the light shirt before walking around like a huge oval. Although it wouldn't be much of a stretch for me, would it?

Lauren said you could be Eva...
Which I think someone has already said. But she knows how to "make" it... I have never seen the move...so I don't know. But she said that her friend wore a short sleeved white T shirt that has a pocket and some sort of "leaf" sticker? And she had a glow stick in her shirt pocket right behind the leaf.
I don't know what she is talking about, honestly.
But I love the WallE idea!
Spectro would be cool, too...but it would be harder to "do it right"...you know what I mean?
The blue light...was purchased by our church. They bought several...I can find out where they got them, if you are interested. Let me find a picture, though, of what it looked like on Lauren's chair. :)
*update - I can't find a picture. I actually sort of have one, but it has a bunch of teenagers in it and I don't have permission to post it...and it isn't that good anyway...but let me know if you want to see it and I can show it to you. And I think it is expensive stuff.

Tracy Dear, you don't have to be so literal in the translation!! It's not necessary to get the exact shape right...just get the general "feel" of the character with the colors.
What I mean is, this could be the easiest costume, EVER!!
Just wear something very comfortable in all white. Put a white knit hat on your head. Take a black mask such as you can get in any party store, paint blue around the eye holes and there you go! Instant Eve!!! :thumbsup2

I know, I have been a bad PTR writer lately
The reasons I haven't been around as much were posted on FB.
I will c/p here though, just skip if it bores you :
Wednesday:
I picked up Bill from work today. He has worked part time for an Independent living center for over a year now. They give him crap work, newsletters etc, even though they know he can do more. He created their website and made it completely accessible for people with all different types of disabilities.
Well they asked him today how many hours would he really need to do the newsletter. This tells him that they aren't going to even let him try other things although they know he has 3 degrees and has almost completed his masters in Rehabilitation Administration and they are looking to cut his hours.
They have another person in the office that is an intern, he is in a wheelchair but has no speech impediment, they are looking to hire him full time. Bill is heartbroken and so am I.
Later that day:
He said he knew they would hire the other guy because of his speech.
He said he feels like he is going to school for nothing and that he thinks if an independent living center won't give him a chance that no one probably will. He said "but I have to try". He tries so hard it just breaks my heart.
Thursday:
In the class he has this semester the teacher gives points for assignments, Bill said to get an "A" he has to have 280. He had 202 as of Thursday morning, most people in the class had about 160. This shows how hard he works, he made a plan at the beginning of the semester to do the assignments with the most points to get his "A" faster. The teacher gave them 2 opportunities to make extra points on Thursday. By the end of that day he had racked up 22 more points, he also had assignments yet to be graded, so he will have 284 by the time those are graded. He emailed his teacher last night telling him he would not be back in class. The teacher emailed back "Ok, good job, that is a great place to be in isn't it".
Friday:
We had some appointments including a doctor's appt so he could sign off on paperwork to possibly get Bill a new wheelchair. This time with tilt to help him with all the cramping he has. This man suffers more pain in one day then the average person does in a month , he amazes me.
Then we have been having some ticker issues the Enchanted ticker site and I was dealing with that for a couple days. I think I got them straightened out finally, it was driving me crazy!!
This weekend:
We just caught up on movies we had but hadn't watched, just boring stuff. I plan on posting a real PTR update tomorrow some time.

I bet you are thinking “Hmmm, what is this mysterious December trip that Tracy speaks of?” Well, I am so glad you asked. Even though you can see by that cover and my ticker I will explain how the trip came to be. Bill and I had originally scheduled a trip for Star Wars Weekend in June for the 5th -12th. We were going to go for his birthday. We had a great time last summer even though it was very hot for this “pooh sized” trip report writer.
We had the trip almost completely paid for in February, then Bill looked at his University’s summer schedule. OMG he couldn’t believe it, the last two classes he needed for his master’s degree were both there right in front of him on the computer screen. Well that changed everything, no summer WDW trip http://i298.photobucket.com/albums/mm243/mrskenchanted/Enchanted%20Smileys/cry3.gif. I knew it was for the best, one is an accelerated two week course (8am-12pm every day for those 2 weeks) and the other one only lasts 6 weeks.
Then I got an AP 40% off code for room only, so we picked Oct. 25th – Oct. 31st. We were going to go for MNSSHP. Then the Ip-Dippers started yapping, I mean suggesting that I should come to WDW then. As I stated in a previous post I crumbled under the pressure and moved the money to that trip. (Still sad that we am missing KathyRN) Bill promised me I could stalk her, I mean see her if they go in 2010. So Kathy you have fair warning now.
Bill thought it would be fun to go closer to Christmas so we could take in all the holiday spirit. I looked on my handy dandy 40% off room only code mailer:
December 13th – 20th, 2009 was included in the dates.
Well you know what happens when 40% off come into play. You get out your calculator and play “DISNEY FUZZY MATH”!!!!. You know the internal talk you have with yourself: I have this much money to spend, but if we take off 40% we can go here instead of there. Yes, I know it plays right into their hands. We could be putting that 40% off into our pocket and be happy, but NO we have to upgrade the resort and give it right back to Disney. I am such a foolish mortal, I know, but Bill said “you wanted Ip-Dip, I want the Poly”.
THE POLY!!!
What, huh? How can a 4 day trip for Ip-Dip and POR even compare to a 7 day/6 night trip to the Poly? I must avoid the piercing blue eyes and their mesmerizing stare. Yeah, that worked for all of about 5 minutes. So I got on the phone and booked the Polynesian Resort, but for Dec. 13th – 19th. I am still shaking my head like this guy>>> http://i298.photobucket.com/albums/mm243/mrskenchanted/Enchanted%20Smileys/sadno.gif but I am not blue, if I was I wouldn’t be typing I would be on my way to the hospital because something would be terribly wrong, but I digress.
We could have AKL Savannah View for what this is costing for goodness sakes, but I get the monorail argument, you know “we just hop on the monorail and are on our way to two parks.” He forgets we have never tried to get on a monorail at park opening/closing. I am sure it is an utter madhouse.
I figured I would just discuss both of the trips here, so this PTR is now a twofer. I have months and months before the trips so this gives me more to talk about!!
Next installment… SouthWest dings? Why hasn’t there been one from St. Louis to Orlando ALL YEAR???

Tell Bill to keep his head up. Where a door closes then a window is opened. Tracy, I see no Cricut stuff in any of those craft projects, when are you busting that beast out?? (I took mine into the office and my HR stuff is loving it so it's finally getting some use).
And the Poly for Christmas...well, well, that's a whole bunch more talking we'll be doing on here. Staying on the monorail loop is magical.

(Still sad that we am missing KathyRN) Bill promised me I could stalk her, I mean see her if they go in 2010. So Kathy you have fair warning now.
You Betcha! :thumbsup2
Bill said “you wanted Ip-Dip, I want the Poly”.
THE POLY!!!
Woo-hoo!! How romantic!
I figured I would just discuss both of the trips here, so this PTR is now a twofer. I have months and months before the trips so this gives me more to talk about!!

Women were doing this :dance3: on chairs at 11 p.m. :rotfl: I went with a good friend of mine and her crop buddies, so at least I didn't feel out of place. I know, I have been a bad PTR writer lately
I am so sorry about this work thing. I am beyond sad that the Independent Living center won't hire him. That just makes me sick.
Hugs to both of you guys!!
I have not even read any more because I just had to comment on that...
What a great way to do a class! Finish your work and you can go home. I like my job being that way, too!! Finish my work and I can be on the DIS. :thumbsup2
Congrats, Bill!!! Great job!! :cheer2: :cheer2:
A powerchair with a tilt is a WONDERFUL thing. I bet it will make things a lot more comfortable for him. Are they able to get him a good gel seat, too? That helped Lauren a lot!

I was so in the middle of posting here when Internet Explorer decided to "shut down"...Microsoft even offered to let me "Report the Error"...Does anyone ever actually report the error? What would happen if we ALL did one day? We need to start a "REPORT THE ERROR" Day and see what happens at the Microsoft headquarters when we all tell them how many times a day our programs just stop working for no apparent reason. Gosh, I digress!!!!
So...as I was saying...I actually don't remember what I was saying! :confused3 :lmao:
I think I was telling you how cool it will be to stay at the Poly!! :goodvibes And I also said something about wanting to stalk, I mean see, BOTH you and KathyRN in 2010, too! :)
And...I would love to see what you write in the little planners you make. I need to make myself one of those! That is a lot easier to carry around in Bagallinni than a guide book with all of my ressie numbers in there!

Tracy,
Tell Bill to keep his head up. Where a door closes then a window is opened. I understand he feels frustrated but I just don't see how someone with his intelligence and drive would have been satisfied with the newsletter job anyway. I believe that something more challenging and satisfying is waiting for him. I pray it comes sooner than later.
He laughed when he read about not being satisfied with the newsletter situation. He said "you got that right". We both thank you.
Tracy, I see no Cricut stuff in any of those craft projects, when are you busting that beast out?? (I took mine into the office and my HR stuff is loving it so it's finally getting some use).

Hi Mary!! Bill says he really didn't see himself at the ILC job forever, so he now sees it as a positive, he can change anything into a positive. He really wants to work at a camp for people with disabilities, that is his dream.
He always uses a Roho seat, they are the best for his needs. They had me put him in a weird looking chair that had rubber pins in the back, then they push it forward to mold to his back, so he will have a custom back too. I think the tilt will help him tremendously.
I think I was telling you how cool it will be to stay at the Poly!! :goodvibes And I also said something about wanting to stalk, I mean see, BOTH you and KathyRN in 2010, too! :)

You don't want to see what I write in my planners. Before the trip it is a bunch of chicken scratches, partial plans, possible ADR's, budgets, etc. Before we leave I go through it and rip out what I don't need. I take it in Bill's bag to the parks, I attach a pen or a mechanical pencil to it and write trip notes when we are eating at counter services.
GREAT crafts!!!!

As some of you know, we only fly SouthWest and only direct flights. We do this for a couple of reasons, SouthWest treats his wheelchair and us very well and because of Bill’s personal needs having a lay over is not a good idea. So I have the “SouthWest Ding”, I have a couple of cities on my favorites list, St. Louis, Nashville, TN, Indianapolis, IN, and Orlando. Why Indy you ask? Well I have become an unofficial travel agent for Bill’s mom. When she wants a flight through SouthWest she just has me find her a good deal and since I love saving us money and anyone else money I happily do this for her.
I have been checking the “Dings” for St. Louis to Orlando every time a “Ding” pops up, it doesn’t matter if our dates weren’t even able to be booked yet, it was research to see what the possible prices might be. Not one “Ding” for St. Louis to MCO, NOT ONE!!! What is up with that? I never saw anything under $99 one way and that really isn’t that bad a price, but we have always paid lower than that. I knew by reading their site that on April 14th the booking window for our dates would be opening up, so I waited http://i298.photobucket.com/albums/mm243/mrskenchanted/Enchanted%20Smileys/confused.gif and I waited http://i298.photobucket.com/albums/mm243/mrskenchanted/tons%20of%20smileys/Bored.gif and I waited http://i298.photobucket.com/albums/mm243/mrskenchanted/Enchanted%20Smileys/gaah.gif. It was taking eternity for April 14th to roll around. Ok that was a little dramatic http://i298.photobucket.com/albums/mm243/mrskenchanted/dramaqueen.gif, but you know what I mean it drives you crazy.
I will admit it now, I am odd, weird, strange, and eccentric, I couldn’t sleep waiting for the flights to be posted. Bill was oblivious http://i298.photobucket.com/albums/mm243/mrskenchanted/tons%20of%20smileys/Smiley_sleeping.gif to my predicament. I popped out of bed bright and early and turned the laptop on. How bad would the flights be??
Oh my goodness http://i298.photobucket.com/albums/mm243/mrskenchanted/tons%20of%20smileys/thdancecircles.gif $84 on the way down to Florida http://i298.photobucket.com/albums/mm243/mrskenchanted/tons%20of%20smileys/1e76d761.gif!! That seemed good to me, the flights on the way back on the other hand were $164 per person on the flight we wanted http://i298.photobucket.com/albums/mm243/mrskenchanted/tons%20of%20smileys/confused2.gif. I was thinking WHY, WHY?? Then I realized http://i298.photobucket.com/albums/mm243/mrskenchanted/Enchanted%20Smileys/IpDipsmilie.png. We are flying home on Columbus Day.
I went into Bill, who was still laying down and told him what was going on with the flights. We decided to go ahead and get the flight down to MCO http://i298.photobucket.com/albums/mm243/mrskenchanted/Enchanted%20Smileys/bananamickey.gif. Now I get to watch the “Dings” and hope something happens for the return flights, if not we will pay more going home then we usually pay for round trips for the two of us. I can’t believe I didn’t think about Columbus day, I should have booked us coming home on Oct. 13th, but you live you learn, you laugh you learn according to Alanis Morissette and I believe her ;).

Hi Tracy! For our October 2008 trip, I had originally planned to come back on Monday night (Columbus Day) but the rates were soooo much cheaper to fly back on Tuesday morning. It was hard getting everyone up and out that early the next morning, but it worked out well. We saved money, plus I got that FULL extra day on Monday. (I guess you can do the math and see if spending another night at the hotel outweighs the price difference on the flight - you might find that it wouldn't be worth it, but it was for us - since there were 8 of us! LOL!)
BTW...don't know if you read my October report or not, but I was there that same weekend! Columbus Day in the MK was blissfully uncrowded! There was a MNSSHP that night and apparently it was sold out, but the daytime hours were fabulous! Don't know if there is party this year on Columbus Day or not, but if you end up staying that extra day, you should consider it! It was great! :goodvibes

I had a similar problem with Southwest in that I am flying out the Friday of Labor Day weekend. But Soutwest had my non-stop flight listed as "unavailable"...looks like someone bought out the entire plane! So I have to fly to Houston (from MS) and then to Orlando. Which is so backwards. I am still waiting for a DING, too!!
Do you guys go ahead and buy the ticket and then re-book? Or do you wait?

So it is with sadness that I have to inform you that we have cancelled the Ip Dip trip, something had to give and the Poly at Christmas is Bill's dream trip, I couldn't let that go. I will very much miss everyone this year, but we had to make this decision.

So sorry Tracy. It stinks to have to make that decision, but if it relieves some of your stress, then it was the right one to make. :thumbsup2
Thanks Carissa . It definately relieved some of my stress, we are going to Nashville in June for the weekend taking my son and his g/f so that will be fun. We might be going to the mountains again in August, his parents already asked us, but we didn't answer because of the Disney trips, so now we might just go, and I am going to buy tickets to a Dodgers game against the Cardinals to surprise Bill for his birthday. So we will have that to look forward to.
The good thing now is we have SW credits so that will pay for some of the flights in December and I have a good amount of money being refunded from Disney to give right back to them for December :rotfl:. We just won't have to pay for Ace twice along with many other things two times within 3 months. I feel at peace with it.

Thank you so much everyone, sorry I am not replying individually.
On Friday afternoon we had what the weather service is caling an "in land hurricane" the winds got up to over 105 mph. Trees down all over our town, power out for a majority of So. Illinois. Our county and 2 others have been declared state disaster areas. We live in an 8 story building on the 5th floor and the generator was only going to be running the elevators for abou 48 hours. No way were we going to stay there with no power, we have been told it might be Tuesday or later before the power is back on, we decided to go to Bill's parents in Indiana. The problem... not enough gas to get there, but we found a Kroger today and after spending over 3 hours in line we got gas .
We are safely in Indiana, with Ace, can you believe it the shedding dog is in Bill's parents home. We will see how it goes. His mom has covered many sitting surfaces already with sheets/blankets :lmao:. He was a mess throughout the storms and is asleep on the bed already. I have been stressed out for 2 days now so am finally getting sleepy.
Thanks for reading along with our crazy life.

We had quite a storm here last night and I was skeerd! :scared1:
I only lost power for 30 min...thank goodness!
I really, really feel for you. We had no power after Katrina for almost 2 weeks (we are 2 hours inland!) and I know what THAT looks like. No fun at all. Hot. No gasoline. Ruh! :grouphug:
Hang in there and keep us posted!!!

I just found your report and now its over. I was really enjoying your report. You must start a new one. Christmas at the Poly is a lot to talk about. I know how disappointing it is to cancel a trip we did last year we were planning a March 2008 trip but new job with less money-but it allows me to be at home more. Ended up working out great and I got to go in December instead which was so much better with all the Christmas stuff. Start a new report it will make you feel better.

Welcome, thanks for reading. I will probably start a PTR after we get back from a trip to Nashville in June.

Thanks everyone. Ace is still a mess at any noise, shaking and getting in my lap constantly. I am a little nervous still, the entire town looks like every block has some type of damage. I took some pictures when we were on our way to Indiana. This doesn't even begin to show the real damage:

I feel for you guys!!!
Did you get your power back?
There is nothing fun about all of that. I wish I could tell you it will all be cleaned up in a few months...but we are 13 months away from a tornado that hit my street and there are still blue tarps on roofs...Evidently it takes a while to get insurance money and then the contractors take their time, too.
Hang in there!!!!!

How scary, Tracy! Being on the coast we see our share of hurricane damage and it never ceases to amaze me at the power of Mother Nature! Nothing to mess around with! Glad you guys are safe!
