Hi Everybody,

We are on the Aug 17th Magic sailing and can't wait!! I was wondering if anybody might know of the cut-off for checking luggage at the port. We are booked on AA and have a flight at 1130am. I know we will make it, but do they require your flight to be past a certain time for you to check-in there? I don't want to waste time trying to check-in with them if they won't allow it. Thanks for you help,

Fawn

Do all the airlines offer check-in at the Port? That's a pretty great service!

Only five airlines offer port check-in:

Delta
American
US Airways
Continental
Northwest

Each of the airlines above check in passengers on flights which depart MCO after 11 a.m. Guests wishing to travel stand-by on an alternate flight will need to keep their luggage with them and check in at the airport.

Michelle,

Is this port check in available for anyone using those airlines, or only those paying for DCL transfers.

We were going to rent a mini van to take us and our stuff back to the airport. If we can check in our baggage at the port, we can rent a much smaller car.

Thanks

Barbara

Barbara, I have had no problems checking my bags at the port with Delta when NOT using DCL transportation. :)

Michelle, when did Delta start checking in again at Port. I thought they didn't since 9/11.

American and America West are definitely not the same airline. Sorry, America West does not offer luggage checkin at the port.

The best you can do is wait till the night before to find out if your airline is going to be there. They don't announce who is officially going to be there till the debarkmentation presentaion. They said that it is always up to the airline to send somebody. They base it off of how many people are flying with that airline for that day. And another thing to warn you about, we were flying out at 1 and went to the Northwest counter at port and said that we had to take our luggage with us because I guess our luggage had been tagged for security so it had to be loaded onto the bus with us. She told us to go to the First Class check-in (which was good because there was a huge line at the other counter). They made us wait for a guy to come and get our luggage then we had to go with him while they put our luggage through an x-ray machine and then the guy gave us our tickets back and we were able to head to our terminal. Always look at your tickets when you get them, on the bottom it will say your name and right next to that there was an s... I believe on ours it looked like this....S-Wilder, Katie..........That S meant that we had been randomly tagged for security which meant we were searched before boarding the plane too. This happned going both ways and here we were just a couple trying to enjoy there honeymoon. Even though it was a little bit of a hassle I am not complaining one bid. They new security measures they are taking is great.

Yes, at Port she handed our boarding passes right over to us after we showed her our ID. It was very simple.
