HI EVERYONE! Welcome to my first Trip Report! I did a Pre-Trip Report – “It’s Guys Like You Mickey..” which you can read here (http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?p=30641786#post30641786). It’s not very long, but for those of you who would rather not read it, I’ll give you a brief overview! THANKS SO MUCH to my AWESOME readers for following my PTR, and hopefully coming over here to read this TR! You guys are awesome :goodvibes

So let's get started!

I’m Cinderella, a 21 year-old college student. Here's me:

(YES, that IS David Cook, winner of American Idol - Season 7, in the photo with me!)

I love, love, love Disney World but I can rarely find people to go down to Orlando with me. Everyone my age thinks that they are "too cool for Disney" or that “Disney is for kids” Even my parents think it is weird that I’m 21 and still find things to do there. :confused3 Sad, I know. Anyways, I’ve been going to Disney World every year for the past few years during the spring to watch Spring Training baseball. After last year, though, my team moved out to Arizona so I really didn’t expect to go back to Disney any time soon after last spring.

However, my friend – Aurora – is married to an awesome guy who happens to play professional baseball! This winter he signed with the MLB team I did my internship with, and they train in Florida! So this was the perfect excuse to go down to the Orlando area and visit with old friends and watch some baseball.

But you didn’t think I could make it to Florida without going to Disney World, did you? Of course not! So I recruited my friend – Belle – to come with me and “do” Disney again. She isn’t a Disney nut like me, and I think she was just excited to go to Florida to be in the warm weather!

However, we booked our flights for 3/18-3/23, got an awesome deal on a hotel, made some ADR's and were off to WDW! Please stay tuned so I can share our awesome adventures with you!

So on Wednesday morning I had a final exam, so we were booked on the last flight out that night. We headed to the airport and grabbed a bite to eat since we knew it would be hard to find someplace that was open when we arrived at the resort later that night. I’ve NEVER seen the airport so crowded and I fly quite often, so it took a long time to get something for dinner. But by the time we were done, it was time to board the plane!

I boarded before Belle did (Southwest) and saved her a seat. When we were waiting for the rest of the passengers to board we noticed that our male flight attendant was very attractive. This is terrible, but we assumed he was – you know… not interested in us. So stereotypical, I know. :confused3 Then about halfway through the flight he started talking to us about where we were going, etc. He gave us free drinks after he asked if we were “of age” and we talked with him for quite a bit. We decided to write down our numbers and hand it to him as we left, which Belle did ever so smoothly.:laughing: We NEVER do this!! But he totally looked like Kyle XY/Matt Dallas. Google him if you’ve never seen him – so cute!

So we landed at MCO around 10:30PM and headed downstairs to the ME counter. I was really surprised that it was so busy that late, but it seemed like there were quite a few international travelers. Our bus to All Star Sports waited a while until it was full and our driver said that the All Star Sports resort was the first stop!!! Here’s a photo I took while waiting for the bus to load:

So we started on the bus ride and as the video began to play, Belle and I got text messages - who could be texting us this late? Everyone we knew had already been informed that we had arrived safely. So I open the message at the same time as Belle and we see that it is from the flight attendant! He offered to show us around downtown Orlando with his buddy, but we said he should come to WDW and hang out with us at DTD or Boardwalk. He didn’t like that idea and after some pretty strange text messages, we decided to igore him. (I know, we shouldn't have given him our #'s – my mother already told me not to give my number to strange people. He was just soo cute!)

So by the time we knew we weren’t interested in Mr. Southwest anymore, we had arrived at All Star Sports! I tried to take a photo of the outside but it was difficult to do in the dark and it really just didn’t come out. We grabbed our luggage from under the bus (well, the ME guy did) and headed inside to check in. Here is the check in area:

The CM told us that we were in the Tennis area, so we headed though the pool area (which was still hopping at almost midnight!) and past this cute Lifeguard post.

When we finally got to our room, we opened the door and saw this on one of the beds! So cute!

We didn’t even bother unpacking since we were getting up early to grab breakfast and meet Aurora before heading over to Animal Kindom Lodge and then to EPCOT for the day. We turned on our new best friend Stacey :rotfl2: and fell asleep immediately!

I was pretty nervous about staying at All Star Sports. I really, really don’t like those outdoor corridors. It makes me feel unsafe when traveling with just one other person. Also the latch lock on our door was loose and I was scared it would come out. It still kept the door locked, but it made me nervous. I probably wouldn’t stay at All Star Sports again, but it did the job for our first night.

Although i've never stayed at the All-stars I do like the room decor how light and colorful it is! I've stayed at POP but i think i may try an all-star next time i stay value, thanks for the pics!

Sorry about not liking the hotel. I've never been to the All Stars and don't think I'd stay there. The outdoor corridors don't bother me but they remind me of regular budget hotels which you can stay at for so much cheaper outside of Disney. I like the moderates and deluxes better!

I'm a HUGE baseball fan so I think it's the coolest thing ever that you interned for a team. Go Yankees!!! :laughing: I can't wait for the season to start!

And I love that pic of you and DC! I loved him last season! I'm not into his new album though, it sounds too much like Nickelback who I can't stand. I still think he's cool though. Was he nice? He played a small show at my cousin's college two months ago and she said he was a really nice guy!

Aw, you got a Mickey head towel! We got one of those on our '07 trip! I didn't want to pick it up and ruin it!

We thought about it but then got too preoccupied with contemplating whether or not to pass along our #'s LOL!

Yes, the rooms were not as bad as I expected. We had a ME stop at Pop on the way back to MCO. While I didn't see the rooms, the grounds looked really nice.

Hahah, I cut my roommate from my internship out of that photo. She was a bit odd, so I wouldn't doubt that she pinched his butt or something and that's why he made that face! He was pretty nice, but ITA w/you about his CD. Sooooo disappointing b/c I LOVED him on the show!

Can't wait for baseball, you have NO IDEA!

You are never too cool or too old for Disney. I try to make it down every couple of years and usually end up going solo for marathon weekend...and it's been a while since I was 21:rolleyes1

We stayed at All Star Sports a few years ago. We ended up liking it (but it was such a change from being at the Polynesian for so many trips...we missed the monorail :sad2:) but I know what you mean about the outside corridors. It was even worse staying on the first floor because EVERYONE walks by! It was kinda creepy when we were all going to bed and people were walking around out there. :scared:

Oh yes, and I am excited for baseball season too! :banana:

I actually met him a couple of times. It was really all luck and we were in the right place at the right time! That photo was taken where my internship was, and I knew the security guard who was working the "after party" so he let me in, LOL!

The internship was AMAZING!! I miss it so much.

And thanks! I know, I can't believe it either. I almost convinced my mom and then today she called me and said she changed her mind. I think I cried all morning because when I talked to her yesterday she basically had decided to come so I got my hopes up big time.

I love the story about the flight attendant and I probably would have had the same assumptions as you, so don't feel too bad. I'm sorry that he turned out so sketchy, but I bet it was pretty exciting! You'll probably end up getting a random text from him in a week or so after he's been drinking wanting to know what went wrong that night!

I learned my lesson one night about talking to strange people. Me and my roommate met these guys at a gas station and they told us to come over. So we followed them, with no intention of stopping, and when we tried to get out of their neighborhood it was a dead end! So we had to pass right by their house! They were waiting outside and we ended up going in for a few cause they were just so cute and funny! Everything turned out ok though and they were really nice, but the next morning we were like, "that could have turned out BAD!" But, we got random texts a week or so later asking us to hang out again, but we declined! I'm embarrassed even thinking about that now and everytime I do, I thank God that everything turned out ok, cause some people aren't so lucky. Plus, we knew better!

Your room at All Star Sports looked pretty nice. We had originally booked Pop, but changed when I had heard not so nice things about the Values. Pictures like that though make me re-think my decision though! It looks so cute!

So in the morning we woke up and brought our luggage down to the lobby of All Star Sports and told them we were switching to the Animal Kingdom Lodge. They took our bags and then Belle and I headed over to the food court. The food court was NUTS and we waited a while for our breakfast before we had to scout out a table. When we were done, Aurora met us out front and we all drove over to check into AKL!

We got there and checked in, even though we knew our standard room wouldn’t be ready. Well, not only was our room ready – it was upgraded! We had a view of the Sunset Savannah and were on the 3rd floor, same as the lobby. The hotel was gorgeous! I've stayed at GF, Poly, YC, CSR, and at that point - All Star Sports, too. I'd rank AKL as my second favorite, right behind the Polynesian! I would definitely go back and stay there, but the savannah view spoiled me - so I'd neeeeed a savannah view for sure if I were to return ;). It was a great room, but we didn’t see any animals from the window before we left. We grabbed a bus to EPCOT and couldn't wait to get into the park!!

Then we decided to head off to Soarin' because we wanted to grab a FastPass. I knew the FastPasses went quickly, but I didn't realize they'd almost be gone! When we got there, the return time was during our dinner reservation, so we headed over to the Stand-By line where we were THOROUGHLY entertained...

Thanks. It was an amazing trip - I haven't had that much fun at Disney in a few trips! I can't wait to go back, but I don't think it would be the same. I'm jealous you get to go in May! I'm still trying to find someone to go with me for Memorial Day weekend.

The Brewers!! We're coming off a fun season last year (it was sooooo exciting finally being in the playoffs :banana::banana:) though I am a little worried about how they'll do this year after losing their top 2 pitchers...:confused3

Love your report so far. We stayed at the ALK last September. Loved it! I MUST ask.....did you have any zebra domes? OMG, I can't get enough of those freaking things!!!!!

I agree agout the outside corridors. If my DH wasn't staying with me I'd probably put a chair under the door handle. :laughing:

Girl I only tried the Zebra domes because you suggested them!! They looked white chocolate-y so since the chef was standing right there I asked him just how much white chocolate is in/on them. He said it's just a coating so I went ahead and tried them! (I can't stand a lot of white chocolate - yuck!) But they were awesome and I have a picture somewhere! Thanks for the suggestion. I want one right now!!

Aw! I love Lady & the Tramp. I loved that movie when I was two and begged my parents for a "Lady dog" so I got a Cocker Spaniel when I was 3 LOL!

I know...a gas station! It really is embarrassing to think back on and I fully expect you to laugh!! They turned out to be nice guys though so that was a good thing. We still joke about the time we got picked up at a gas station though and still have not told our mothers about it! Could you imagine??

I wish she could go with you!! We're just waiting on something to happen and if it does, then she'll be able to go. But, she just wants to go to Disney to eat!

If both of my parents end up getting to go they said they'd just pay the difference for us to get AKL Savannah View! My mom and BF are dying to stay there! I hope you were able to get some good pics!

Aren't they cool? I do have to admit, I wish the F&G displays had more flowers instead of just topiaries - you know what I mean? It was weird going in August because I always go in spring during F&G and it was weird NOT to see the topiaries - I think I thought they were part of WDW all the time!

Ahhh, I've never had an upgrade before because I'm a spoiled brat and my dad always gets us concierge/club level. I never knew how exciting it was!!! I'm hoping for pixie dust for you, too!

This is just a mini-update since I can't sleep right now and I'd rather not be doing homework!!

OK, so we get in the stupid 120-minute stand-by line to ride Soarin’. I’m the only one who had ever been on it, so Belle and Aurora trusted my judgment that it was worth the wait. If I were by myself I probably wouldn’t have waited that long. I love the ride, but to me I could be enjoying things outside in the Florida sunshine instead of wasting 2 hours of my day inside a building waiting for a 5-minute ride.

So we finally get to the part where they start projecting “games” on the walls and people were going nuts. And the people going nuts were the parents of kids who were sitting on the ground rubbing their eyes or playing with their Nintendo DS. It was HI-LARIOUS. You should’ve seen these people! It was just so funny to see how into the games everyone got. They were concentrating so hard and getting frustrated if they didn’t pop a balloon or a bird crashed! It was soooo entertaining!! Then we got bored enough to be sucked into the fun and probably looked like idiots to everyone else, LOL! In this photo you can see the games projected on the wall and all the other people waiting in line with us!

So then there would be long pauses between games where the line wouldn’t move at all and everyone would sit down. We had this horrible woman behind us who was the only person not sitting down during this little wait between games/the line moving. She’d like stand on her toes and as soon as she saw the first person in the line stand up to move forward, she’d say “COME ON GIRLS!! THE LINES MOVIN’” Like we couldn’t see for ourselves! And she said it EVERY time! It’s not like we sat there while everyone moved ahead, either. It was nuts. We were hungry and bored and just wanted to ride Soarin’ – jeez lady!!!

Next up will be our "Drinks Around the World [Showcase]" and you will meet my future husband!! :love:

OMG, I can't believe you guys waited in a line that long! :scared1:DH would have gone insane if I suggested it. :laughing: I finally got to ride Soarin last September for the first time. :woohoo: We got FP's and then after our Behind the Seeds Tour we rode. Worked out fab and I hope to get to ride again.

:lmao: about the zebra domes and the white chocolate. I HATE white chocolate so I didn't want to try them at first. Now, forget it.........I'd eat a dozen if I could. :thumbsup2

Oh my gosh, I know! It was way too long! If I was with my family they would just laugh if I THOUGHT about waiting that long. But the girls never had been on it before so to them it might be worth it. In regards to the line lady...Meeting people in line can go either way. Sometimes, I am sorry that I even opened my big mouth and said two words to the person, and other times, I can actually have a decent conversation and enjoy my time getting to know someone. Your line lady sounds like she was a big pain.

OK, so I'm going home this weekend for an event and I don't know how much I'll be able to update. I promise this will get interesting soon!! PLUS, I want to finish it so I can start.....A NEW PTR!!!

Well, I might not do one because of my schedule this quarter. But, the point is - I might be going back to WDW this year!!! I went out to dinner tonight for Belle's birthday and a friend I hadn't seen in awhile was there. She said she saw pictures from our trip on Facebook and wants to go to Disney. I was like, "HOW ABOUT MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND?" and she thought it was a great idea!

SO, hopefully we can actually make this work. I'm going to book the special offer and I'm looking at BWI (easy access to Epcot/World Showcase), CR (lots to do around monorail, close to MK, good dining choices), or WL (cheapest of the 3, good location). Any thoughts or suggestions would be welcome! I just was at Disney but what better time to go than when there's a special rate, right?

Joe and I love staying deluxe but since we're going for 10 days in September, we just did Pop for Memorial Weekend. :guilty: Not to mention, as per usual, we OWED the IRS again this year. :sad2:Stupid corporatation. I would SO love to close it but if we need it again we'd have to start freaking over...............

Weather here is good (for now). Yesterday was fantastic. Hope it holds out for the Rock Hall ceremonies.

We didn't like POR. My opinion, you are not mising much...except their gift shop which is pretty cool. :thumbsup2 I posted our itin on my PTR for September (figured I'd put them together) our details for May so you can see where we will be..or think we will be :laughing:. I'm open to make changes if you decided you're going and we put together a meet.

I'm actually trying to get there today. It's going to be packed tomorrow and I want to say that you had to get tickets in advance. :confused3 Can't remember. Just realized that I have to go into the office this morning (which is right by the Rock Hall) and I hope to get to it this afternoon after my appointment at 11:30. I'm a HUGE Springsteen fan and cannot wait to see the exhibit! Yeah, my age is shining through.......isn't it? :laughing:

I think you would really like Pop.. Ive been there 3 times I think and this coming trip will make the 4th if I remember right.. It really is a fun resort.. I love the theming and its so much fun there.. I really like Movies and Music too.. Our family stayed at Sports last year- we got 2 rooms due to the # of people in our party and I didnt enjoy this resort at all.. which really disappointed me.. maybe I need to try it again as maybe it was just an off week..

The games in the Soarin queue sound fun! I think we've only done the standby there once since we always get fastpasses and that was before they had the games (I think they had trivia questions instead) so we haven't gotten to see them.

Yeah I saw your itinerary over in your PTR but that was before I thought I was going! I'll go back and check it out as soon as I have something BOOKED. People can say they are "for sure" going but until it's booked I'm not going to get my hopes up!

I saw the Springsteen exhibit and it was really neat. I'm not a big fan of his so I'm sure people that are would think it was even better!!

The last time I was there was in 2005 when I still only cared about really current music. I'm ashamed to say that American Idol's retro themes forced me to download some old songs and learn about bands that were old. Like, Queen. When I was little I saw the Bohemian Rhapsody video and Freddie Mercury scared the crap out of me!!! But then Idol did Queen week and ever since I've really liked their songs, LOL!

I RODE MY BIKE TO DISNEY (I live in the Midwest, this is just NOT possible) and finally found the Crystal Palace (he doesn't even work there but for some reason in my dream he did) and then I went in and they told me he doesn't work there anymore and I had to ride my bike all the way back home. :laughing::rotfl::rotfl2::lmao: I have problems!!!

Yay! Thanks for coming over! I've been doing the Disney/Spring Training combo for a few years. It only happened because Disney had nicer hotels than the town my team trained in, so we stayed there and did a few days in the parks. It was nice to alternate between the games and the parks, and I found the crowds have been manageable. One year we got lucky and our team played the Braves at Disney so that was really fun!

Weather is still good here today. Crossing my fingers it stays that way for a bit. Got my yard decorated with Easter eggs and stuff and the freaking wind is blowing them all over the yard.

Weather is still good here today. Crossing my fingers it stays that way for a bit. Got my yard decorated with Easter eggs and stuff and the freaking wind is blowing them all over the yard.

So after we waited with our new friend :lmao: for 2 hours in the Soarin’ line, we needed to recharge. We headed downstairs to Sunshine Seasons where we grabbed a quick bite to eat. Then we decided it was finally time. Time for what we had talked about doing for months – drinks around the World Showcase!!!!!:banana: We debated if we should start at Mexico or at the other end.

As you can see – we started at Mexico! We started out by each getting a margarita! Mine was all mango but the girls both had the Fiesta mixed one with a bunch of flavors. Mine was REALLY good!! Belle and Aurora liked there's but said they wish they had only ordered one flavor.

By the time we got to Norway, we still had plenty of margarita left so we didn’t try any drinks here. We wanted to ride Maelstrom but after waiting so long for Soarin’ the last thing we wanted to do is wait in another line – so we skipped it.

Alright, now we’re in Germany! My favorite! I took 5 years of German and used to be able to have basic conversations, so I tried my best to order a pretzel and wine auf Deutsch! It worked! They understood me! Too bad I had ABSOLUTELY no idea what they were saying when they replied back ☹ When they found out I didn’t really know what they were talking about, they spoke in English and asked me how long I took German, where I learned it, etc. Everyone was so nice!

Then we walked right past Italy because we knew we’d be back later for dinner at Tutto Italia.

So next up was America! We wandered around for a little and I laughed at all the people waiting in the mile long funnel cake line. Seriously people, you’re in the World Showcase! Get something fun, new, or different to try!!

So this means that Japan was next. They were doing construction on the big building (I want to call it a pagoda but I feel like that’s wrong) so I didn’t take a picture of it. We saw the candy lady doing her thing outside but right as we walked up she was done. Oh well. We went into the gift shop and browsed before deciding we should try a drink, so we went back to the Sake bar.

There was a bit of a line, and ahead of us were people just LOVING the Plum wine and told us we HAD to order it. So we all got our own Plum wine and loved it!

At first. We threw it away after about 5 sips because it was WAY too sweet. We should’ve shared!!

Oh well, onto Morocco! We grabbed a Sultan’s Colada – OMG SO GOOD!!!! – and watch MoRockin for a bit before going inside to explore. We met a really cool CM who wrote our names in Arabic – SO COOL!- for us and took our photo by the genie lamp.

We downed the Sultan’s Colada and walked over to France. We took too long to decide what we wanted to drink so we left without trying anything. I read a review on the dining board recommending the Welsh Dragon @ Rose & Crown, so that is where we went next...

We were in the Morocco gift shop and the CM who took our photo told us he would only take it if we tagged him on Facebook as being in the photo. So he went to write down his name on the back of a receipt for us so we could add him. Then he asked us what our names were and wrote them in Arabic on a receipt! So no, we didn't ask for it or have to pay for it!

His name is Abdou and he works in the Morocco gift shop by the big Genie lamps/Aladdin hats, LOL!

I'd say they ranged from $5-$10 and we shared some of them. Soo yummy! I rarely go out at school (I'm taking 5 classes and I just really, really can't stand most of the people who live in the city - soooo fake!) so I justified paying that much for drinks that day because it'd probably be what I'd pay for drinks in one NIGHT at school!

Do it! We tried and failed, LOL! I think if one person were to seriously try and drink their own drink from each country they'd be throwing up and broke by the time they got all the way around the lagoon!! We shared and skipped countries so that helped us!! Japan's sake bar also had sparkling and regular sake. I think they had a few more things but I don't remember. Also I'm not sure about what's available outside.

And yes, I'm going back!!! One of my best friends ever - we've been friends since 3rd grade - got a plane ticket from her mom for graduation. She was going to come visit me at school in Chicago but I'm so fed up with this place that I wouldn't be any fun. I jokingly suggested Disney and she and her mom thought it would be really fun!!! I CAN'T WAIT!!!!!

OK so next was Great Britian, England, UK – I don’t know what the official name is for this place!! At this point we were all feeling our drinks and thought it would be awesome to take a photo in the red phone booth. When I showed my mom this photo she said, “This must have been at the end. I can definitely tell you girls had been drinking around the world!!” I just laugh at Belle’s face and Aurora’s pose. I look pretty normal in the middle!!

After our sweet picture I told them about this great drink – Welsh Dragon – I had read about here on the DIS. So we walked into Rose & Crown where the bar was SUPER CROWDED. This adorable bartender, Eddie, saw us and handed us a menu. I told him we wanted to try the Welsh Dragon and he made a face like that was a bad choice. So he recommended the English Rose to us, and we all shared one. While we were sipping on our drink the bar began to clear out so Eddie was making conversation with us. He was 21 and here from Ireland as part of the college program. At that point I don’t even remember what the heck we were talking about. He was asking me what I was studying, etc. and his eyes were just mesmerizing me! We ordered another drink and stayed a little longer. You wanna see Eddie?

Belle thought the other bartender was cute and Aurora was “JUST LOOKING!” at a guy on the other end of the bar. Belle said I gave Eddie a 70% tip, but I didn’t care. He was so dreamy. Then they wrote my number on the back of our receipt and left it on the bar before we walked out! He never called. Who knows if he ever got it or knew who left it? He’s probably dating one of the hot blonde girls from Norway, LOL!

Then we decided to skip Canada and headed over to Italy for our Tutto Italia reservation. I won’t bore you with more photos of the food, so you can check those out in my dining review. We sat down and our waiter was in SUCH a hurry the whole time. He was telling us what to order etc. and zoomed away right after we told him what we want. Actually it was more like he wrote down what he thought we would like since we asked so many freaking questions!

About five minutes later, he came with our wine and food!! I was not ready to eat! I barely ate anything because I was full from all of our drinks but Belle and Aurora really liked their meals and finished them. I begged them to go back and see Eddie when we were done, but they told me to shut up and get over him!

As we were walking out, three guys who were swearing up a storm holding (well, more like spilling) cups of beer started walking with us. We said we were heading to Test Track and they said that’s where they were going. They were a little, um, strange. We couldn’t get away from them though! We even tried getting into the single rider line and then secretly meeting up after we got off. Aurora was stuck with one in her car anyways, and Belle and I ended up in the same car, which was behind the other two! We were stuck and needed to get away from them ASAP!

That's cool about the games in the Soarin line. At least they give you something to pass the time. I can't believe the woman though. I never understand why people are in a hurry to wait. I always encounter that driving and that's why I have the WORST road rage ever!

I want to try drinking around the world in November, but I cannot handle my alcohol. At all. I'm going to have to start working on building up a tolerance. Back when I was in college (a whole 3 years ago) I had no problem. But, now if I even have a beer, I have a headache the next day! I love the pic of y'all throwing out the plum wine too! Hilarious!

So that's it to good ol' Eddie? That's funny though. After leaving him a 70% tip though, he should have called you! That is just in-excusable!

Y'alls day sounded so fun! How'd y'all end up ditching y'alls new friends???

There are so many people in Milwaukee who avoid those games for that reason. Though I do have to say my dad, sisters and I went to the Brewers-Cubs game on Sunday and while there were a ton of Cubs fans there they weren't as obnoxious as I expected. :laughing: Still I don't think I'll be going to another game against them anytime soon...:scared:

Haha I am trying to make my mom come with me to CELEBRATE graduation in December and I will definitely make her drink around the world. She rarely drinks but once she gets a pina colada or something tropical, she jut wants to try everything!

Ohhh Eddie. Yeah he was very friendly, at least I think so! LOL!

I remember my dad telling me about this video he saw somewhere online of these 2 girls at a Cubs game just screaming (obviously beyond drunk). Well, I think they might've hit a homerun or something exciting happened but they had no clue and were just like "Goooooo Cubbies, what happened?!?!?!" :rolleyes::confused3

So you are an Indians fan then? That is cool! I remember last year (or was it 2 years ago?) when they came here to play because it snowed in Ohio. And I appreciate the Indians giving up CC Sabathia even if we only had him for half a season but he was AWESOME. :thumbsup2

So it has been a while since I last updated and I apologize for that! I also want to say that I'm sorry I haven't been able to read through all of your TR's and PTR's because of school right now, but I promise I will get to them soon!

We last left off with drinks around the World Showcase with Belle and Aurora. We finally escaped from our creeper Test Track friends by telling them we had to go to the bathroom and all running away as fast as we could. They were too drunk to notice and by the time they started yelling for us to come back, we were already too far! So we went back to the room where I could NOT fall asleep to save my life! I think it is that stupid motion sensor thermostat because I kept waking up practically sweating.

In the morning, Aurora left early to go running with her trainer. Belle and I slept in a little bit and then headed to yummy Boma for breakfast. Before we left, we had a friend outside of our window! We named him Herbie and he was an Eland. I wonder how many names that guy gets from all the people with savannah views? Or maybe we were the only crazy ones who felt the need to name him. Anyways, he made multiple appearances throughout our time there and we loved him! So breakfast at Boma - it was delicious! After breakfast we explored the resort and looked at the animals. We met an awesome CM who spent time with us telling us a lot about the savannah and what it is really like in Africa.

Then we took a cab to Kissimmee to see Aurora's husband play baseball! As I mentioned earlier, her husband signed with the team I interned for in the fall. So going to the game would give me a chance to hang out with Aurora, say hi to her awesome family, and see my friends from the internship! We had a great day and were ready for our dinner at Ohana when we got back!

The only reservation I could get for Ohana during our stay was for that night at 9:15PM. That was usually fine, but after talking to some of my internship friends we decided we all wanted to meet up. They agreed to come to DTD/Boardwalk later, so Belle and I called Ohana to see if they could seat us earlier or if there were any cancellations. The CM I talked to said that if we came right away that they could most likely get us in. We took a bus to MK, then the boat over to the Poly.

So we arrived at Ohana and the same CM that answered the phone when I called about checking in early now tells me that I can’t check in until 2 hours before my reservation. That means we couldn’t check in until 7:15PM which wasn’t that long of a wait. We decided to check out the Tambu Lounge while we waited to check in.

So it’s 7:15PM and I go over to the podium where the SAME CM tells me he NEVER SAID THAT I could check in 2 hours before my ADR, and I actually have to wait until an hour and a half before my ressie. So this means I have another half hour to wait. I was angry but thought it was a good excuse to try another drink. So after I finished my Sunken Treasure I headed back to the podium where the CM tells me I can finally check in. So I give him my name and he asks where I’m from, etc. I told him we came from Chicago where we go to school and he got really excited because that's where he's from. Funny how right after I checked in and told him that – our table was ready immediately! It was nuts. We barely had time to pay our bill at the bar.

Our server was great and brought me a special vegetarian entree after she noticed that I wasn't eating any of the meat. Last time I was at Ohana I ordered the entree but this time I didn't because I knew I could get enough to eat just from the bread, salad, veggies, noodles, and bread pudding! Unfortunately I stuffed my face with the yummy veggie entree that the server brought and couldn't even force myself to eat the bread pudding!! I am STILL mad about that because I had been dreaming about that dessert since I booked the trip!

While we were there we also ran into Cousin Gary, who was my server for my birthday trip. I don't think he remembered me but he chatted with us anyways. He is definitely a character! After dinner we decided that we would head over to Jellyrolls at the Boardwalk to meet up with friends.

We got to the Boardwalk and realized we were tired. I think it was a combination of being in the sun all day, drinking all day the day before, and eating all of that delicious Ohana-ness. Anyways, my internship friends said they were too tired to come all the way there as well so we decided to meet up the next night instead. Belle and I were too tired to stay out late so we didn't feel like paying the cover charge to go into Jellyrolls and decided to check out Atlantic Dance Hall instead. I thought it was fun - they were playing disco, Michael Jackson, and Britney Spears while we were in there. There were a few groups of people but at 10:30 it was not very busy. We left after about an hour and went back to the AKL to get some rest!

This was such a quick trip but it has taken me so long to finish this! Anyways, on our last day we decided to go to MK since I had made a LAST MINUTE reservation for Crystal Palace breakfast.

Like I've said before, this was NOT a commando trip, so we decided to Disney sleep in (you know, still waking up early but not as early as you usually would to make rope drop?) a little bit since our reservation wasn't until a bit after nine. Here's a photo I took of the castle from the waiting area outside CP.

So we go to check in at the podium (if you've read my dining report, then you already know what happens next!) but there was a short line. The people in front of us were taking FOREVER!!!!! to figure out their reservation. So while we are standing there, Belle comments about how one of the guys waiting outside for his table looked like Joey Fatone from NSYNC. I look at who she is talking about and freak out!! I say to her "OMG! BECAUSE THAT ISSSSSSSSSS JOEY FATONE!" She asked me if I was sure, and I told her how I spent like 95% of my middle school career being obsessed with NSYNC, and that I was 110% positive it was Joey! There he is in the white shirt!

So we debated whether or not to go up to him for awhile. No one was bothering him but we thought maybe people already made a scene before we got there or maybe no one knew who he was? It seemed like everyone waiting was in their 40's or really young - AKA the age groups that don't remember NSYNC (well not Joey anyway)! When we finally got inside we had an amazing server, Kyle, who told us about all of his celebrity encounters in the restaurant. He said Joey comes a lot because he still lives in the area and is really nice to fans. We still decided not to bother him while he was with his family.

i love chicago, we live just across the boarder in IN....we were just up there a few weeks ago and spend all day going to shed aquarium, walked along the water to navy pier, had some drinks and lunch there, then walked back through millenium park, and the blues festival in grant park, it was an awesome and really fun day

anyway, enjoying it so far and it is fun to read reports of peoples that live in the same area as you.

No, I didn't take enough pictures and it was another short trip. It was also raining CONSTANTLY the whole time so most of the pictures look bad anyways. Chicago is SO fun. I love big cities because there is always something to do. I'm home for summer from college and there is absolutely nothing to do here and I wish I was back! Thanks for reading!

So when we go to Adventureland we headed right for Pirates! There was about a 5 minute wait for Jungle Cruise, so we walked up to ride that first instead. However we got there the same time as a MASSIVE tour group that was pushing a shoving. It was getting me angry so we decided to come back later.

There was about a 5 minute wait posted for Pirates as well, which was probably about right. I just love this ride, especially after the movies came out and they re-did it to add Johnny Depp!

We then we to my favorite ride, Splash Mountain! I do NOT remember getting this wet before!!!! What did they do?!

Time to stop for lunch! I'd read so much about Columbia Harbor House here on the DIS that I just had to try it. They have a yummy vegetarian sandwich and it was AWESOMEEEEE! Here's a picture of the cute sign outside:

We went back to our hotel for a quick nap, and when we got there we saw this guy outside of our window! So we never found Joey, but we did make a new friend :)

We woke up and had some drinks at the pool bar and I had some Zebra Domes since OhioDisneyLover told me I had to try them! They were awesome, and worth "spoiling my dinner" for. When we got back to the park we rode the TTA and passed this:

It's the old SkyRide in Tomorrowland! The one in Fantasyland isn't bad, but this one is just plain creepy. You can still see the exit signs etc. and it just gives me the heebie jeebies for some reason! When I was just there again in May it DID look like they were doing something with it - thank God!!!

The one thing Belle was talking about before we left was "that pineapple ice cream!" AKA Dole Whip! So we ate dinner at the Plaza but saved room for dessert that we could eat while we watched Wishes.

WISHES! My favorite Disney show. I know it is cheesy, but for those few minutes you are watching Wishes in front of the castle you think about Walt and how he dreamed of this huge, amazing place. And how if he could do THAT, then there is NO reason we all can't do little things and accomplish small goals. I love it.

We had a great time - as usual. Belle and I met freshman year of college when we were randomly paired up to be roommates. We are still good friends, but Belle graduated (I have one more quarter left because I took time off to do an internship!) and is moving to California. I'm going to miss her, but we are going to Las Vegas for my birthday in a couple weeks and I can't wait. PLUS, she will be SUPER close to Disneyland - what a great excuse to go visit!!

They old skyway is sort of creepy, especially because you know someone died there. I wish they'd change that space into something again.

Anyway, I don't want to end on a down note. Dole whip and wishes are a great way to end a fun trip report! I'm looking forward to the ptr with your anti-Disney friend!

The anti-Disney friend would be my MOTHER! LOL! It's gonna be an adventure for sure.

December is such a great time to visit! Definitely do a PTR if you are going!

My first few trips to Disney were always in December, but I haven't been back during that time for over ten years!
