Yes....to my surprise. I planted the purple ones 3 months ago and they're blooming. I planted a huge patch (assorted colors) last spring and they're taking their time. I would have expected the opposite. Oh well...:)
Can someone identify the iris, if that's what it is. I inherited them with the house.

Ohh ohh ohh! I want some! :D You have beautiful flowers and I love purple. :D
What are all of the things you have growing? The only ones I can name are the iris.
Are any of those late-bloomers or all-season bloomers? :D

1) These are dahlias....from bulbs I planted in late winter. It's my first experience with them and I love them. They are bursting with blooms.
2) Windsong gladiola The bloom area or stalk is 18" tall.
3) wide shot of glads and dahlias
4) iris....inherited with the house
5) butterfly bush is starting to bloom
6) We call it purple heart, but I've seen it called purple queen. It's very prolific and so easy to root. I'm growing a flat of it for a friend.
<center>I think it looks Purple-ific.
