I was wondering how feasable it it to plan a trip to WDW using the DxDP staying at CRB and relying on Disney transportation? We will be staying at CBR for 7 nights. Will we be able to do late reservation for the signature resorts n be able to get back to CBR on Disney transportation? I am trying to save costs and not get a rental car. Also will we still be able to fully enjoy the parks with doing many dinners outside the parks?
Thanks!
Paula
Very feasible. We never have a car at WDW. We did deluxe last year and stayed at POFQ. We just took the bus or the monorail. Busses run pretty late so we never had problems getting to our resort at night.
I will say with the deluxe plan it seemed like we were eating all the time or trying to get somewhere to eat. We enjoyed all the great food but sometimes I felt we were always in transportation mode.

The only thing I would suggest is to plan for your dinners early enough so that you can still get home from transferring at the parks back to your resort. Yes, you can transfer at DTD but it takes SOOOO long.
If you dine at Epcot resorts, as there are 2 signature restaurants between these resorts, if you're staying at CSR, you might as well take a cab if you're out later. It's such a short ride, it wouldn't cost you much at all.

DH and I upgraded to DxDPP last Sept. and have upgraded for our Oct. 2009 trip. We visited lots of signatures and had very little transportation troubles.
We were late to one ADR, because the bus at POFQ..to Epcot...was running late. That day we just hopped the HS bus and took a nice walk to the FF at the Boardwalk.
We did take a taxi a few times, especially because his parents came to visit for a few days and it was just easier.
We loved the food at the Signatures and usually planned a 1TS and Sig. rest. each day.

We have never stayed at CBR and I'mot sure where it is located, but.....from POFQ to Narcoosees (at GF) or Artist Pt. ( at WL) it was around $15. Sorry I can't be of more help.

As others have said, it is very doable. We never rent a car for Disney trips; not having to drive anywhere is a big part of what we like about Disney. We only had one night on our last trip where we didn't use Disney transportation to get "home" from dinner, and that was a reservation at Yachtsman steakhouse that ran past Epcot closing time. We took a cab back from that one, at a cost of around $10 (Yacht Club to Wilderness Lodge).

Thanks! It sounds like even if we have to take a Taxi it should still be cheaper than renting a car for the whole time we are there.

Eating at GF and taking Disney trans back to CBR shouldn't be a problem. We had a late dinner at Narcoosee's and stayed past Wishes. We took the boat to the Poly, walked through the Poly, made some CS purchases, took the monorail to MK and stood in a long line for the bus back to CBR.
As someone mentioned you can always get "home" from DTD. I was at the World in Feb, last bus leaves DTD at 2am. I took buses back to Pop at 1am twice.
By the way we absolutely loved Narcoossee's. Unlike Citricos it has a view and as mentioned you can see Wishes from the deck there as well at the hokey Electric Water parade, a hit with our 6yo.

Just an FYI - We've found that the taxi trips in Disney are usually between $12 to $22 without tip. We've never had a $10 ride but I suppose if you were going from POR to DTD or something like that it would be less than $12
