9/15 Epcot day
Quick breakfast at Everything POP, head to bus stop 8:30
9 a.m :cloud9: Epcot
(Dont think I can push Mom and Jodi to get there any earlier, are there opening ceremonies at Epcot?)
Head right to Soarin' for FP pick up (this was my FAV last trip, Mom and Jodi have never tried, I can't wait to see what they think!)
Test Track (I have NEVER been on this before!)
12:30-1 p.m lunch at Tangerine Cafe popcorn::
3 p.m head back to POP to relax by the pool, have a drink and freshen up for dinner :upsidedow
7:15 O'hanas popcorn::
9:30 fireworks from Poly beach from MNSSHP:wizard:
Our plans are pretty loose, which is not like me, with the kids I feel like we need a lot more structure....do you guys think we need more even as adults to make sure we see everything? Or do you think we can play it by ear and get things done in Epcot pretty easily?:confused3 This day we're not planning on doing WS, we have another day here, so we'll do that another day. Any thoughts are appreciated!!

I can't wait to ride IASW with Mom again, it's been 20 years, it will be happy moment for sure!!:cloud9:
I'll try and take pics of the dresses I've bought, they are nice and comfy, more fitted on top and that flowy Aline on the bottom...very forgiving!! ;)
Btw, 47 days today...but who's counting! LOL!!
Your plans are looking great. I think loose plans will be good for you this trip, more go with the flow. :goodvibes
Thanks LL, it seems like it should be more of a laid back trip and not too structured, I'd probably scare Mom and Jodi if they saw the notes I have in my Passporter for when I do it with the boys!!:rolleyes1 I'm glad to hear you think this will work...

I know, we tried to do TT on our honeymoon in 2000, but it was fairly new then and that was before FP and the wait was TOO long, so we passed. Then the last two trips were with kids and we just couldn't fit it in and do the baby swap thing, it was too much to have all three kids wait, you know? So this time...I'm on there!!!! Sorry Todd! Someone has to test it out from the family, right? LOL!

I know....but like I said to Meghan we tried to do it on our honeymoon in 2000 but it was before FP and it was new so the line was hours long. And then the last two trips have been with the boys and we couldn't make them all wait for us to ride, so I'm excited about trying it out!!!:yay: Glad to hear you love it!

There's not a "ceremony" per se - but some Characters are out and about. But - it is very cool and lots of fun to be there at the rope drope for the "parade" to Soarin' for the first flight of the day ... So I'd recommend trying to get there early ... Have a "snack" for breakfast in your room (grab something at the Main Street Bakery the night before - bring plastic bags to keep it fresh ...) - do Soarin' first thing (grabbing a FP for it as you walk out ... :) ) ... then grab breakfast at Sunshine Seasons (better food than at POP!) ... then do Test Track ... :thumbsup2
Test Track (I have NEVER been on this before!)
Me neither - it "broke down" on us while we were in line! :headache:
12:30-1 p.m lunch at Tangerine Cafe popcorn::
Heard good things about this place - it's on my list for dinner 3 days later!! :yay:
3 p.m head back to POP to relax by the pool, have a drink and freshen up for dinner :upsidedow
You may wanna have that drink in the WS ...
7:15 O'hanas popcorn::
9:30 fireworks from Poly beach from MNSSHP:wizard:
Oooooh ... ! Aaaaaahh!
This day we're not planning on doing WS, we have another day here, so we'll do that another day. Any thoughts are appreciated!!
Well - you're gonna have to walk halfway around the WS to get to the Tangeriene Cafe - and then back - so you should think about hitting at least couple of the countries (at least for the A/C ...) ... And if it starts to rain, Mexico is a good choice ...
Time to walk the dog ...

Hi guys!
Just curious to see those who have stayed at POP where you have stayed? In December we were in the 70's building but we paid for a preferred room that time around....we're just doing standard this time but wondering what room you liked that was quiet and closer to Classic hall?
This map is from the POP board, but wanted to get your opinion, it's worth trying request something, right? I'm thinking 60's building?:confused3 Mom wants quiet and with Jodi's foot bothering her, thought it would be nice to try and get a bit closer with all the walking we're doing anyways, you know?
http://www.wdwinfo.com/maps/PopCenturyMap.pdf
Thanks!!:goodvibes Have a nice day! Hope to do DAY THREE today/tomorrow, Mom is coming up today for a visit and I talked to Jodi yesterday...will update soon!!

Oh Brook, I'm SO SORRY to hear you're not doing that great with your ankle and the boot isn't helping!?! :headache: Do you think you're on your feet too much to let it heal chasing a toddler? I can't even imagine. Sending pixie dust your way in hopes the next week turns things around for you!!!!:wizard:
Yep...I think that's exactly why it's not really helping/healing...:sad2: A lot of times I don't end up wearing it in the morning while getting everyone ready and out the door, and sometimes-depending on if we are running errands, etc-I don't wear it at night because of getting in and out of the car...since I'm the only driver (due to Joe's eyes), and I can't drive with the boot, it's a PAIN to put on and off on and off... :headache: I gotta think positive though, 1 more week can do a lot. :goodvibes
I think your plans look really good for Epcot, especially since you aren't doing the whole park that day. Just go with the flow and take it all in!
We stayed at Pop for just one night and were in the 50s building. I didn't think the walk was too far from Classic Hall and it was quiet - we were on the backside of it.

Thanks for you input on my plans...I'm glad to think we can just go with the flow....I"m such a planner so I feel like I'm struggling with being totally loose with it, but I think that will be okay. I hope so anyways!!!
I talked to Disney today and put in a request for the 50's building, ground floor (just in case anyone is hurting!) and the CM I talked to told me I had a 90% chance of getting what we requested. I hope he's right!
We stayed in the 50's section too. It was super quiet and a quick walk! :thumbsup2
Thanks LL, I put a call into Disney today and requested a room in the 50's bldg. so hopefully that will work out for us! :cloud9:

Since Joe is a "go with the flow" type of tourist, and I'm a planner/"let's go, let's go!" type - I plan and plan every single detail down to what I'm eating for snacks; but always with the "go with the flow" attitude in mind, so when we get there, I know I will have ideas on what to do so we aren't ever just wandering around aimlessly, and I know I will get at least some of my stuff done, but I'm okay if we don't get to all of it.
So far this attitude and planning method has worked really well for me and for Joe. He knows I'm planning every minute right now, but he also knows I'm totally flexible when we get there! Now if he took over and we did NOTHING on my lists, I would be bummed, but I know he wouldn't do that. :goodvibes
So-indulge that inner-planner! But, go with the relaxed attitude! :thumbsup2
I really liked the 50s building at Pop, the giant juke box is really cool! Good idea on getting the ground floor too!

Hey guys!
Does anyone know where I can find info on Photopass and the resort photo ops? Mom really wants a nice pic of the three of us while we're away and I need to explore our options. I've done Photopass in the past and love it, does anyone know if you can still prebuy? And has anyone done the photo shoots at GF or anywhere else for that matter? Is it worth it? How much does it cost? :confused3
Thanks everyone!!:goodvibes

I don't know much about the Photopass at the resorts, but I do recall when I was at the WL they had a sign-up for it right in the lobby; however, I don't know if that is the case with all the resorts. Hmmm.... I don't see anything about it on their website....? I would just call the normal phone line and have them connect you to wherever to ask those questions...strange that it's not hugely advertised right on their website for Photopass!

Not sure of the cost, but I found this on allears:
Professional Portrait Service - You can have professional portraits taken of you and your family while you're at Walt Disney World. You'll have the beautiful resorts as your backdrop as they take dozens of photos. You need to make a reservation, so for more information or to schedule a portrait session, call 407-934-4004.
You can have your portrait session done at these resorts:
-- Grand Floridian
-- Polynesian
-- Beach Club
-- Wilderness Lodge
-- Animal Kingdom Lodge
I know I've also read that if the resort photopass photographers aren't busy that they will take a couple of pics for you without you having to do and pay for the full photoshoot - so you might just roll with it and maybe you'll get a few pics to add to your CD without having to pay extra for them :thumbsup2
Here's the link to preorder the CD & save yourself a little money if your sure you are going to buy one

I think those "professional photo sessions" are a few hundred $$ (starting with a sitting fee and then going up, depending on what you order ...). Also, they are available at a few of the resorts ...
For those of you with aches and pains: don't forget to bring some Ziploc bags ... for ice ... at the end (or beginning ... or middle ...) of the day ... to ease what's aching you ... :lmao:

We did a photo shot at the POLY and loved it!! They did a great job. Umm We did buy the photopass cd, but I think that was it, back then. Before you would just purchase the CD after the photoshoot, then add on all your photopass pics. But now they charge more for this. I forget how much extra they charge on top of pre ordering the cd.

Hi Kristen!! I just read through all of your plans and they look great so far. It sounds like your mom and sis are more go with the flow type people, so I think keeping the plans loose is a good idea so they don't get overwhelmed. You can stop and smell the roses this trip! And going in September, it shouldn't be too crowded so you can get around to do everything without having the details set in stone. I can't wait to hear how you like The Wave and O'Hanas! I've never eaten at either but they sound great!!

Hi Everyone!!
Thanks for all the great info for those who responded about the Photopass and the photo shoot info, I got all the info I needed (and couldn't find for some reason!!?)!!:goodvibes
After going back and forth with Mom and Jodi, we've decided to go for it and schedule the photoshoot at one of the resorts!! Mom is really hoping for GF, we can schedule 30 days out, so we'll see. Does anyone know if these book up and if it's hard to get? The price is not as bad as I would have thought price wise ($50 for one package/ $100 for another) and since my Mom requested to have some "nice" pictures of the three of us while there, we've decided this is more her speed. We are skipping Photopass this time (:headache:) and i'll be playing photographer and capturing our memories this trip, since we can't do it all. I'm thinking I'll get a photopass card in the park, have them take our pics on my camera too and if there are nice pics on the photopass card we didn't get, we'll just pay for those seperately and not go crazy with a million of them. I'm excited for the photoshoot and Mom is THRILLED with it, she told me "she doesn't need a MILLION pics of WDW" (where did I come from?:confused3), she's just happy to have the time there with we girls and have just a few nice pics to remember it by.:cloud9: Afterall, this trip is for her, so I'm happy, if she's happy!! We are planning on all wearing black (something we all have, hopefully somewhat forgiving and classic).
We've also FINALLY figured out our trip to and from Boston (phew!). Mom and I will be going to Boston on Sunday 9/13 and spending the night at the Custom House in the city (My parents own timeshare there so Mom is taking care of this). We will valet park there that night, pay $27 for that and then drive to Logan in the a.m and park at the eco lot for $100 for the week...it's cheaper than any other option for us and that way our car will be there on Friday when we fly in (we land after 10 p.m) and we can just drive home once we get our luggage and all.
I'm starting to stress a bit about shoes.....I had planned to take my running shoes, wore them to the Museum this weekend and they weren't comfy for me all day for some reason (my right foot was going numb for some reason, they are fine when I run but I dont wear them all day), the day before I wore my crocs that I bought for this trip and they weren't either! So I'm beginning to panic seeing as my trip is less than 6 weeks away, I need a comfy pair of shoes and need to break them in!! Any suggestions? I wore Mary jane crocs my 1st trip and they really did the trick, starting to think maybe I should get a new pair and just go with it. They were comfy, dried quick and since Mom and Jodi won't be moving at a quick pace, I should be okay? AHHH!!
Let's see, what else? I cashed out my Disney Visa Reward points and ended up with $50....every little bit helps, right? Has anyone used these before? Can you just use it like a gift card? It's my 1st time using it, so I'm excited!! Okay, I think that's about it for now. I hope to update a DAY THREE update soon, been studying like crazy....just a few more days now....thanks for all the well wishes!!
And for the record.....

I hope you're all well and I hope to update again soon!!
Take care!

I was on a Photopass Share gone bad so I too will be the photog of the trip.:cool2:
As for shoes - do you have any Keen's?
They are awesome and I swear I don't work for them but everytime someone asks I just have to answer!
I just bought a new pair because the ones I already had were the Newport leather. They don't do too well wet.
Here are my new Newport H2's

I also like these better because they don't have the black toe and bottom.
They are a great on the go shoe and good for crowds where you don't want your piggies run over or stomped on:dance3:

Your plans are looking really good! I think the Photopass session will be a fun time with you three and will give your Mom just what she wants. That's a great cost for the package since you don't need the Photopass CD as well!
I'm glad to hear you got the stuff with Boston figured out too - it's always so nice to get those little details set and squared away. We just spoke about all our "how do we get to the airport?" details this morning.

I've used a Disney Reward Card many times and it is quite easy and just like using a Debit Card. You can use it at an ice cream stand, for tips for dinner, for merchanise, whatever. On the receipt it will tell you how many reward dollars you have left after the purchase which is nice too. We have about $40to use this trip.
And yeah on figuring out your transportation to the airport logistics. Nice to have that all set!
On the shoes, I have a pair of Sketcher flip flops I love, sturdier than say a flimsy flip flop (say that 5 times fast!). And I am a Croc girl. However those Keens are looking mighty cute!

I'm loving my shake n' bake Montrail Flip Flops. They are so comfortable! I had a bunch of stuff to do on Saturday and I wore them all day long running around and my feet didn't hurt one bit by the end of the day.
If your Mary Jane Crocs worked, I'd suggest getting another pair. I think mine hurt my feet so bad because I had been wearing them so much and they were worn down and not as supportive.

I am also wondering about shoes for my trip. I got a pair of Teva mushie flip flops I like a lot. Just wore them all around Seattle - including a walking tour and they were very comfy!
Disney rewards card couldn't be easier. You can use it anywhere and as Allison said you can keep track of the balance with the update at the bottom of the receipt. Nothing is better than "free" money!! :)
The resort photoshoot sounds fun. What a great momento of the trip that you'll all have!

Ooo the footwear issue is always a dilhemma for me too! I am a flip flop wearer but I know that is not comfy for most people, so I'd say if the mary jane crocs worked last time, go with those again!
I'm glad you and your mom and sis are finally getting the plans ironed out! The photoshoot sounds like such a great idea. Basic black is a good choice :thumbsup2 We didn't get the photopass this past trip, we had the exact same idea as you, we just got the card and had the photographer take one with our own camera too. That way we got great pics on our own camera and had some photopass ones to choose from, we just bought a couple. It's a great moneysaver!

Wow, I remember when you started your PTR and worried it was too far off and now here we are!:wizard: Makes me excited that our Christmas trip will be here before we know it too.;) We did photopass before the prices went up and thought it was soo worth the money then although it was definitely not professional quality. We did get some great shots with all of us.
Yes, Disney Visa Rewards card can be used just like a credit or debit card. I recently heard that the new T-Rex restaurant accepts it. I am excited about this since the T-Rex is not on the dining plan. I think we'll use our reward $ at that restaurant.
Look forward to reading all about your trip.:goodvibes

Thanks Allyson, the reward card seems too easy! Works for me!!:rolleyes1 I didn't know if there were stipulations with it or if it was what it was. Yay, sounds like it will work out just fine for the trip!! Btw, have you ever done the Disney Visa photo ops in the parks? Are they any good?
Going to check out Sketcher flip flops, I'm a flip flop girl, too and live in them here at home but noticed my cheapy one from ON are killing me. My right ankle hasn't been right since we were at the musuem last weekend. :guilty:

Happy Thursday!!
So this update will be a little of this and a little of that....I'll apologize now if I'm all over the place!!
First, my most exciting news for you!! I was asked by one of my good DIS friends to join their Photopass share!! Christine (2xcited2sleep) was SO sweet and VERY generous to add my family to their photopass group. We are SO excited and so very appreciative of this offer from her (and the rest of her group, too!). We are so excited to have this to document our trip and as a part of accepting Christines offer, I've promised a trip full of pics and a TR when I get home!! It's a deal!! :thumbsup2
And while I'm speaking about that, I just has to say, I've met so many wonderful people here on DIS that I am so proud to call my friends, so thank you, each and everyone one of you, for being a part of my special trip, sharing my memories with me and my life with me!! It really makes Disney that more magical for me!:cloud9:
I ran to Target yesterday and picked up a few things to get me started on what I need to pack...it's that time, you know?:) Here is a picture to update you with:
http://i704.photobucket.com/albums/ww50/princessher4princes/newestpics005.jpg
After Cole's nap yesterday we ran to Dick's Sporting Goods to look for some new Crocs for me, and possibily for the boys for school ( I want to get them the Red Sox ones), their Mickey ones are so worn out, but they lasted a long time. I had no luck there and since it was SO HOT and HUMID yesterday and the kids were cranky and we don't have central air, we decided on a a road trip. We headed to South Shore Plaza Mall, about 1/2 hour from home, since they have a Crocs kiosk and was sure I'd find what I"m looking for there. NO LUCK again!!:sad2: But it wasnt' a lost trip, we made a quick stop into the Disney store just for the fun of it. Cole got some new Mickey sneaks for Fall, aren't they cute?!!
http://i704.photobucket.com/albums/ww50/princessher4princes/mickeysneaks.jpg
Well on the way home, I made one last effort to check one more store and ended up at Sports Authority, and score! I found some new brown mary jane crocs for $14.97! And these for the same price!!
http://i704.photobucket.com/albums/ww50/princessher4princes/cleo_10043_side_240.jpg
They are so comfy!! But I still wasn't convinced I was done shoe wise, that I needed something more, so today, after much convincing and promising Todd that I wouldn't buy black sandals again for years (yes, years!!), I got these...they have a good write up, they are cute and supposively VERY COMFY for walking, they better be!! They are by Chaco:
http://i704.photobucket.com/albums/ww50/princessher4princes/Chacosandals.jpg
So that is my little of this, little of that update for now...hope you enjoyed it!! 37 more days!!! Lots to do still so stay tuned!! And thanks for reading!!

Cole's mickey sneaks are too cute!!

You are very sweet as well, you made our trip that more magical and we haven't even left yet!!:wizard: It's going to be a great trip!!!
I know, what was I thinking about committing to not buy black sandals for years!?!:lmao: But I had to do what I had to do for the moment!! I've never spent that much on pretty much any shoe, but I have heard great things, they last forever and are great for walking....so they better be!!! Or I'm in trouble!! :rolleyes1
I need to make more of a list for the trip....I just went down the travel aisle at Target and grabbed those things....but can think of some more....we're getting down there....and it's always so much fun shopping for the little things.... it makes it feel that much closer!!:cloud9:

Hi MeMom!! I've missed you!! Glad you're home and back to DIS....although I'm sure you'd rather be back in WDW right about now!! Keeping up with PTR/TR reports is a lot of work..but it's worth it, it's my happy place, when I can't be at the real place!!:cloud9:
Cole wore his Mickey Sneakers yesterday, he was so excited!! They light up and I taught him to stomp his foot so he could see it...so he was stomping all over the driveway showing all the neighborhood kids his new shoes. It was cute!:cutie: Hope those light ups have a lot of battery in them!!! Cause Cole really likes them!!;)

Your pic reminded me that I do want to check out blistery, band aidy sort of things. Belle is well, the ultimate princess in that everything can be dramatic and if her feet start to hurt look out. (where did she come from? I truly don't think I am so much the drama queen at all!) So I want/need to be armed with things to combat the start of blistery sore feet or it will be the beginning of the end for us.
Nice score on the sandals, very cute! My friend has the Croc sandals and loves them!

Your trip report is fantastic. I am also debating the shoe situation. I did really good in June with Coach sneakers and Yellow Box flip flops, but I did buy a pair of UnderArmor (sp) flip flops with memory foam bottom they are great. I do still want to try the mary jane Crocks though and see if I like them. Our trip is Sept 26th - Oct 4th and I was thinking about trying to go in with someone on the photopass also, considering I just bought the one from June and we will be going again in December with my brother, SIL, and their 3 children so I know we will purchase that one too. But I really do want one for this trip considering we are doing the MNSSHP. Keep up the good work!!!

How did I fall so far behind!
LOVE the shoes! Score on $15 Crocs! :woohoo:I really like those flip flop sandal type, I've wanted to try them, but haven't been able to find any when looking. Do you still like them after you've been wearing them a bit now?
I love your black sandals too! What did your DH say when he saw they were black?
Cole's Mickey shoes are adorable! I am not sure when we'll be down to the Mall of America again for the Disney store, but if it's anytime soon, I might have to try to find those too! ;)
:yay: for Mickey Mail! That means your trip is CLOSE! :yay:
And CONGRATULATIONS on passing your RE exam! I used to work for the Board of Realtors (here in MN, and then also for the Long Island Board when I lived in NYC), we had to give the exams and it was always a long stressful day for our students. Some would dance right out of the office after passing, and others would have to come back again and again. :sad1: I always felt such a bag of emotions for everyone that day! Real Estate is a tough job, but it can be exciting and rewarding. CONGRATS again! :dance3:

Hi Brook!
LOVE my new croc sandals, they are sooo comfy!! I think they will be great for Disney!! I actually just found Mom some too, in black, so she's pretty excited, too!!! If you can find them, get them ,I think you'd like them and they are pretty cute on, too!!
Thanks for the congrats on my RE Exam! It was a lot of work!!!! Especially with three little ones at home...I was up at 5:30 a.m studying and up late at night, but it paid off!!!:yay: It's a HARD exam...so much math, law, but I did it!!! Woohoo!!!!!:dance3:
Coley LOVES his Mickey sneaks....he will not let me put anything else on his feet! They were more for Fall, but I let him wear them a couple of times and now when I go to put his sandals on, he gets so mad at me!!:sad2: He needs to wear "Gigi" shoes...Henry will love them!!!:lovestruc And they were 25% off when I was there!!!!

I just love those luggage tags...it makes it that much more real to me for some reason....:lovestruc
We also have changes to some plans...nothing major, but changes just the same. First, Mom has changed plans for the night before. We are now not staying at the Custom house, it didn't work out like she had thought it would, so we're now staying at a Marriot in Boston that offers a park and ride, and daily parking for $14/day, which is MUCH cheaper than what we were paying for at Logan. Mom and I will drive to Boston on Sunday afternoon, have dinner somewhere, spend the night and head to Logan via shuttle Monday morning for our 7:10 a.m. flight....so we'll be up and out early that day, but it works for me....we're going to WDW!!!:yay:
I am returning my Chacos (my black sandals...Todd's thrilled!! lol!!:lmao:), they weren't what I expected and the many straps need SO much adjusting, they just weren't working for me. So for the price, I've decided to send them back and just go with what I have. I'll bring my Mary Jane Crocs, my Croc sandals and some sneaks, and call it a day. It's a quck trip and if I rotate some, I should be fine, or at least I hope I am!! So if you see me wearing brown shoes with black clothing in WDW, don't laugh!:rotfl: This something that stresses me out, but I'll get over it once I'm there or I will be wearing lots of browns!! ;)
We have our photoshoot at GF booked!! We're doing it on Tuesday before dinner. We had planned to go back to POP about 3ish anyways that day to cool off by the pool, have drink, freshen up for dinner...so now, we're going back and getting prettied up for our photoshoot at 5:30 p.m. before heading to our 7:15 p.m. at O'hana's that night. We had planned to wear all black, assuming we all had something, but when I talked to the photographer he mentioned not to wear black or white....so back to the drawing board! :teacher: We have all planned to wear black bottoms and a colored top, figuring any color top will look nice together (although we're trying to coordinate some). Got to still get this 10 lbs. off!!!!!!!!!:scared1:
I emailed Jodi and Mom today a final update....or at least that what I told them!:lmao: Just going over some final thoughts....what I bought that they don't need, what they do need, going over Mom's wheelchair rental, making sure Jodi brings my bed!!, and misc. stuff like that.
And finally...DAY 3 plans.....they are very loose, as most of our plans are.....so here goes:
MK!! (hours this day are 9 a.m- 8 p.m)
We are planning on opening ceremonies this day (or at least I am!) so will plan to leave POP about 7:45 to make it on time (will this work?!). We are touring loosely, we will have been to a few things on our 1st night, so we'll just take it by ear and do what we please wtih no real plan (again, this makes me a bit crazy...). We plan to do lunch at Terrace Noodles this day and we have a 7:30 at Kona. We will see how Mom's back is doing and see if we need an afternoon break and head to POP before dinner to freshen up and head back out. What am I missing??
I guess that's about it for now....I'm sure I will think of more....thanks for reading and I hope you guys will fill in what I am missing!!
26 more days! (almost 25!!)
Hope you're all well!!!
Take care,

25 days!!:banana: It's practically around the corner. I am getting excited for Disney mail myself. Everyday as I come home I wonder if today will be the day. When does it usually come? Around 30 days?
OK. For you, Kristen, I will try to hold back laughter on brown shoes with black clothes. ;) No one is going to be looking at your feet, silly! Go with what is comfy!
Your plans sound great. It's going to be a magical trip, I can tell! Remind me, do the boys know where you're going? Does it register with them or they are kind of oblivious?

Disney mail comes usually anywhere after 40 days I would say, I got my 1st mail about 35 days and then the other about 30...so you're on countdown my friend!!!
Thanks SO much for not laughing at me with my brown shoes/black outfit situation..lol!! I'm serious, I'm a big "Matcher" and this will stress me out..heehee, so I'll probably just wear outfits that match with brown to overcome this thing...lol!!:rotfl:
My boys have no idea....I just said to Todd last night, we need to talk to them about it....Mommy has never gone anywhere for that long...so it's beginning to make me a little nervous and sad that I'm going without them.

Morning all!
So my friend Christine brought up an interesting point this a.m. about my boys and if they knew I was going on my trip or not....they don't. I'm completely stressed about it! I need your help....do I tell them? Do I tell them I'm just going to Florida with Grammy and Aunt Jodi? Which isn't completey a lie....but kinda is! :( It's a BIG one, they have already asked when "we" are all going again so now I'm feeling badly for going without them. :guilty: On one hand I feel like if I tell them they can relate daily with me where I am and what we did and I can share that with them when I call home, on the other hand, they are little....will they understand why i'm going alone and leaving them all home?! I feel like I'm in a rock and a hard place here...any suggestions are appreciated!!!!
Thanks!! Have a great day everyone!!:cloud9:

Because they are little I might just leave it as going to Florida. When I did my solo trip last year mine were a bit older and could understand when I explained why I was going without them and they also understand time enough to know when their next trip was coming. For your little ones I think that is too abstract and they are just going to think Mom went to Disney World without us? I am not a fan of lying to children but I think I may, if I were in your shoes, leave it at Florida and not get specific. Just my 2 cents.

How exciting that your plans are really taking shape now! I love that your going to have the photos taken. What a special way to remember your trip later.
I'd just go with saying your going to Florida, but not mentioning it to Disney. It's not a lie, just a bit of an omission. It will be much easier in the long run, then dealing with disappointed kids that aren't going to Disney. My brother and SIL used that tactic for a mom/dad only trip they took last year. The kids were fine with it that way.

Hmmmmm, that's a tough one! I think I would lean towards telling them that you are going to Florida with Grandma and Aunt Jodi and that it's a special trip for you girls to take together to celebrate Grandma's birthday. Leaving out Disney isn't necessarily lie - it's just a detail! ;) I think with their young age it would be too hard for them to understand Mommy going to Disney without them, of course that's just my opinion - what do I know!
Only potential problem I can see with omitting where you are actually going is, will they want to see pictures when you get home?? My kids have always loved looking at pictures and most definitely would ask to see them.

I had thought about doing our trip in September as Mommy and Daddy only but I knew as soon as we got there we would have "no child" remorse:confused3.
Don't feel guilty.....this will be such a fun, fond memory for you for the rest of your life. It's not like the boys have never been or you won't take them again:hug:
I would say you are going to Florida with Grammy (my mom is Grammy too:cloud9:) and Aunt Jodi and then if they ask if you are going to Disney say yes and you will bring them back something special ( I think you already picked up stuff from Disney Store? ) and that you will show them all the pictures when you get back. Bribery works very well I have found:rolleyes1

I'd be honest. I think that's less stressful. Just say you are going to do some 'big girl stuff' that Disney World has for grown-ups. I think they'll be happy for you and fine with it. Then, when you talk to them, you don't have to worry about guarding what you say. And I'm sure they'll be happy to find out they'll be getting some kind of special Mickey gifts/treats upon your return, right?

So I did it...I had the "talk" with the boys....after all the great comments you all left, I decided to just be honest with them. Ethan is SO stinkin' smart (and I'm not just saying that cause he's my son...lol ;)) so if I told him that I was going to Florida, he'd put two and two together and figure DISNEY. I sat the big boys down and said I had something I wanted to tell them, that Grammy has a VERY special birthday coming up and since she used to always take Aunt Jodi and Mommy to Disney, we wanted to do the same for her to celebrate her special trip. They both immediately asked why they couldn't come, I told them that it was a girls only trip, that they would be doing "guy" things at home with Daddy and that this was a bit of secret mission trip too so Mommy could plan the next family trip. They loved that!!:3dglasses And I told them that if they were good for Daddy that maybe Mickey would send them something home with me!!!! They were all for that.:thumbsup2
I have asked one of my DIS friends to possibly send some park maps here so the boys could stay connected each day to see where I am. I'm planning on making a calendar for Todd so he knows what's up each day here, so I"ll end up adding my info too it too. It will be a SUPER busy week for Daddy...the boys will be in school by then, soccer starts fo Ethan, gymnastics for Lucas, and Cole will be along for the ride. It will be good for all of us.....:cloud9: Or at least that's what I keep telling myself when the Mommy guilt starts kickin' in.;) Phew...one less thing to worry about, I didn't want to get caught in a white lie and I want to share this with them too...they LOVE looking at pics and I will want to tell them each day where I am/what I did/who I saw/what ride I rode each night when I check in.
We have finally picked out some tops to wear for our photoshoot!!! We have decided on purple and black. I think it will look nice, Mom & I found three tops that kind of go, we'll wear black pants and silver jewelry, hope it looks nice. They look better on than on the hanger, but you get the idea.
Here is mine:

Jodi's:

and Mom's (a darker shade, but it looks nice together)
http://i704.photobucket.com/albums/ww50/princessher4princes/shirts006.jpg
Mom spent the night here last night so she could join us at the beach today and because Todd was traveling, so she kept me company last night. We started talking about switching some of our ressies....:scared1: We're not so sure of The Wave....anyone ate there? Is it good?!! Fill me in!!!! I don't want to start playing with my ressies and not sure I could anyways since it's less than 3 weeks out and with free dining going on!!!
Day 4 plans (Epcot!)
The parks is open 9-9 p.m.
We will make the MAD DASH to Soain' and get FP's ...Mom and Jodi have never been on, I can't wait to share it with them!!! :cloud9:
We plan to do WS this day and take it all in. I'm excited for this day...it will be fun to check out all the countries and see things I havne't seen in years, since it doesn't keep the kids overly entertained since they are so young. Maybe we'll grab a drink or two around the World?
We were thinking Sunshine Season for lunch and have dinner ressies at almost 7 at Teppan Edo. None of us have eaten there so we're looking forward to it!popcorn::
We may squeeze and afternoon break in here somewhere and come back for dinner? I guess it will depend on how everyone's legs are doing!!! You know I'm going to have pics of me pushing two wheelchairs by now, don't you? LOL!!:rotfl:
I guess that's all on the update homefront this afternoon, plus Cole is now up from his nap.....I hope you're all well!!!! :flower3: Less than three weeks now....woohoo!!!!!!!!!!

Kristen I think you absolutely handled telling the boys the right way! As soon as I read MeMoms advise I knew she was a much wiser woman than I - I'm glad that's the route you decided to go! :thumbsup2
I love your outfit choices for your photoshoot, I think it's really going to turn out nice.
I wish I could help you out on The Wave, but we haven't been there (yet - it's on the list for December ;) ). I have read two trip reports of people who have gone (Brook & jaycns) and both of them gave it really positive reviews. I'm looking forward to trying it.

They will have fun with their daddy and you will have a blast with your mom and sister. I hope The Wave is good. I think I have it for one of my ressies:confused3I'll have to check for sure. I think I did, too!! Thanks!! I read everyone's comments and was going back and forth, got MeMom's note and said, that's it...we need to talk....it's for the best. It wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be, if I'm honest. Although, I'm not looking forward to saying bye to them the day before....sniff, sniff!!
I'm glad you like the tops we got for the photoshoot, they look a lot nicer on, but it's a different color for us all, but since we're all fair skinned with blondish hair, I think it will look nice.
I've heard good reviews for the Wave, too. I was looking at their dinner menu with my Mom and nothing was hitting us....I'm sure it's delish, it will be something different at least, right? I'll keep you posted on it!! :)

Phew...one more thing, done!! :) I was really stressed about telling them and now we're all talking "Disney" so it's nice to have someone to share in my excitement, you know?
You're so right about that week..they will have some boy fun....and I can enjoy some girl time...that NEVER HAPPENS (as you well know in a house full of men yourself!!).;)
I know....I can't beleive it's just weeks away now.....time is FLYING!!! Let's hope those few days don't go by as quickly......

For Day 5, our last day....sniff, sniff....:guilty: We plan to visit DHS that morning. Our flight is scheduled at 7:20 p.m, so I'm kind of figuring that ME will pick us up about 3ish? Think that's about right??
We'll plan to get up early, pack the night before, bring our luggage to bell hop and leave it for the day. Have a quick breakfast in on our way and head right to Toy Story Mania!! :yay: We did this with the boys in December and just loved it, I'm not sure Mom and Jodi will be as excited, especially since I'm not even sure they've seen the Toy Story movies before, but they should still enjoy it. If we can't get right on, we'll grab FP's and maybe do Ariels show, or the animation studio. My sister and Mom are big ToT people, so I know this is on our list (even though I WILL NOT be joining them.....:scared1:), as well as RRC.
We have lunch ressies at Mama Melrose (anyone eat here before? Any suggestions on what to order?) that day about 12:20 p.m and I'm thinking we will most likely have to head back to POP after this meal? My question to you guys is....do you think it would make sense to actually drive to DHS this day? Jodi will have a car, that will be parked at POP the entire week, but since we have to catch ME, maybe it will help to not have to wait for the buses this day? Any thoughts? Never driven anywhere in WDW before, always done their transportation. Any input, is appreciated!!:goodvibes
We have a quick morning at DHS, but I think it will be enough. We're not into Stat Wars, but will like just going up Main Street, The Great Movie ride is always fun....I think it will be a nice way to end the trip?
Any thoughts?? Thanks!!!:goodvibes

Hi!
It does feel SO much better having it out in the open and to have been honest with them. I was so worried about that!! And you're so right, the boys will have SO much fun with DH and they will be so busy, the probably won't even miss me....between school, sports, etal, and it's not that long of a trip, you know?
Ahh, missed the law of Epcot!! ;) Glad you brought it up!!! We'll be SURE to have a few around the World!!! lol...
Thanks for compliments on our tops, I think they will look nice (I hope!!), too!!:goodvibes

Day 4 plans (Epcot!)
The parks is open 9-9 p.m.
We will make the MAD DASH to Soain' and get FP's ...
First off - there is no "mad dash" to Soarin' ... it's more like a parade/street party ... and just jump right in line - and then get your FPs after you've done it ... :lmao:... have snack in Sunshine Seasons and take in the Circle of Life film ... and then go Soarin' again!! :woohoo:
Maybe we'll grab a drink or two around the World?
How about combining "Beers Around the World" with "Chocolate Around the World"? ... :rotfl:... (alternating at countries as you stumble your way around the WS ...)
We were thinking Sunshine Season for lunch and have dinner ressies at almost 7 at Teppan Edo. None of us have eaten there so we're looking forward to it!popcorn::
Tappan Edo!! - very nice ... and don't forget to pick a pearl in the Japan Dept store ...
We may squeeze and afternoon break in here somewhere and come back for dinner? I guess it will depend on how everyone's legs are doing!!! You know I'm going to have pics of me pushing two wheelchairs by now, don't you? LOL!!:rotfl:

Do you think it would make sense to actually drive to DHS this day? Yep - that'll give you extra time in DHS!! And parking is free ...
Speaking of which - don't forget The Muppets!!
We have a quick morning at DHS, but I think it will be enough. We're not into Stat Wars, (what is this? - two math geeks dueling with slide rules?) :rotfl2:but will like just going up Main Street, uh - Hollywood Blvd? I hope everyone has a great weekend! We had many end of Summer parties to attend but now that "Danny" has decided to join us, the parties have been cancelled. :sad2: Oh well, it's a great opportunity to get prepared for school next week and catch our breaths here at home some. Todd was away on business this week and we've just been running so it's always good to have some time at home.
Ethan starts 1st grade on Tuesday! I can't believe it! He'll be gone ALL DAY long! Kindergarten is 1/2 days here, so this will be a big adjustment for all us. He's really excited and I'm excited for him....but I know I will miss him, too!! Lucas will start preschool (3 mornings) 9/11. Soccer and Gymnastics start pretty soon, too. Life as I know it is about to change again.....
Now that my plans have been mapped out, my plan is to do a picture countdown here from past trips for the next couple of weeks to make time go by and to get me more excited, I hope you enjoy!!!

It sounds funny to hear you talk about getting ready for school to start next week - we've been back over two weeks already!
Awwww, Ethan's such a big boy starting all day school! I understand your sadness, it's hard and wonderful all at the same time watching them grow up. My oldest will start high school next year and everytime I think about it I get a big fat lump in my throat - it's amazing how fast time passes. I love both ToT and RnRC too. I think it is great that your mom will ride those. I missed the GMR last year so we will do it this year.
You have been busy. I'm not a mom but my BFF is. Her eldest DD is a senoir this year. It seems like yesterday when I was babysitting that tiny girl while her mom and dad went out. Time does move too quickly for some things.

So glad "The Talk" went well with the boys! Very smart on just being honest since Ethan would have figured it out - that would have been worse. Love the "secret mission" too. And presents, ya, everyone loves presents! :goodvibes
I will do my very, very best to get those maps mailed to you ASAP when we get back. I can just imagine all your boys gathered around looking at the map pointing to various things on what you will be doing each day!
That Mommy Guilt is awful, isn't it? But, this will be a GREAT thing for you, your Mom, your sister and your boys. And coming home will be all the sweeter.
The purple dresses look really pretty-I think it will all look great! I like the idea of your Mom in a darker shade since she is Mom. :thumbsup2

Time does move too quickly, people always tell you that when you're younger but then when it happens to you, it's crazy! It seems like only yesterday Ethan was born....early, in the NICU and here he is, going to 1st grade.....WOW!!!!:sad2:

PHEW...thank goodness that the "talk" went well.:rolleyes1:rolleyes1 I was so worried! But now they are getting excited to talk about it with me and Grammy, they were telling her this week of all the "new" things she's never seen and what to ride. So it's been fun!!:) I'm still worried about saying good bye to them that day and leaving for 5 full days, but I'll be fine, just that initial step, you know. AND yes, Mommy guilt is the worst!!! But you're SO right, it will be good for ALL of us....and Mommy will come home a new (revived! LOL!) Mommy......I hope!! LOL!!;)
Thanks for trying to get the maps for us, that's exactly what I envision, as well. NO worries though, if you can't do it, don't have time, it's FINE!!! I don't want you to stress over it, okay? If you can, great, if not, that's fine too!!!!

Wow! That's a long school day! Madison starts at 9am and gets out at 3:05pm. Elementary school around here is always just 6 hours long. Back in Syracuse, I think we went for 6 and a half hours.

13 more days!!!!!!!
Today was Ethan's 1st day of 1st grade! The poor thing woke up with a cold!!! It was only a matter of time, Lucas and Cole have it,too....nothing too bad, just that annoying post nasal thing. So hopefully he'll be okay. He was excited, Mommy wasn't as much. I did well though, I didn't cry until he got on the bus and as I was walking up the driveway, so he doesn't know!! The bus picked him up at 8:40 and he'll be home about 3:45! It's a long day, so I'm going to miss my big boy. Thought today I'd share some back to school pics with you all, thanks for letting me share!!

I'd have to say that Austin would completelyyyy disagree with your mother on the whole "It's a Small World" as the first ride to make the trip start off enjoyable.. :lmao: I guess I can say he pretty much didn't like that ride at all. Which at first he said he was ok, but that is lasted way to long and grew really boring, quick. But I wouldn't mind it first. I love traditions at WDW.

And he did great too, afterall, this is about him, right? ;) He loved it, had lunch in the cafeteria, saw his firends, had gym...it was a big day!!! I've been soooo bad at DISing lately, I'm sorry!! Tracey, Adam and family (for those that didn't read my December 2008 TR, Tracey is my BFF that joined us in Disney our last trip) came for a last minute visit from Philly this long weekend so between cleaning for them and then having 10 people (in total) in my house all weekend there was no time to DIS!! Sorry about that!! I hope that everyone had a great Labor day weekend and got out and enjoyed the beautiful weather!! We had a great one....we spent from 9 a.m to 6:30 p.m on the beach with about 6 couples and our 15 or so children, grilling, swimming ,digging, sunning...it was glorious and officially our last day on the beach for this Summer. What a GREAT Summer, it was!! We went to the playground, played in the yard, walked on Plymouth waterfront to visit the Mayflower and just enjoyed our time together with Tracey and Adam. It was a great weekend. And believe it or not, DISNEY came up!! We're trying to plan a get together for the week between Christmas and New Years with them and we keep pricing the indoor waterparks and that sort and it's SO expensive, that we actually priced Disney!!! But I don't think it will happen....airfare is SO EXPENSIVE!!!:sad2: But never say never, right?:confused3 LOL!!:lmao:
We have to get the boys to bed....but I will do my best for a picture update tomorrow. Thanks for doing the single digit dance with me and I have a lot to update....stay turned!!! Hope you're all well!!

1 week + 1 day for you!!!!!!!
I still have 2 weeks + and I'm starting to bug out a bit.
Awww, thank you!! Ethan was doing great earlier in the week last week, Friday he all of a sudden decided that he didn't want to go to school anymore, he started crying when the bus was coming up my street and said he didn't want to go to school that it was boring, etal. When he got on the bus he was still crying and when it pulled away I was crying as he looked at my out the window. It was SO hard for me. He came home that afternoon and the bus driver told me he cried all the way to school and when she asked what was wrong he told her that he missed his Mommy!!!:guilty: My Ethan is such a tough kid, not very emotional at all, tough to get a hug/kiss out of, and all boy, for me to see him cry and hear that, I lost it. :sad1: He was pretty upset again tonight when we said tomorrow was another school day, started getting all upset again with things. It's killing me. I decided today to buy him something to remind him of me that he could bring to school with him, my DH and I decided on a Cross necklace. Kohl's had sterling ones on sale this week for $15 and it's very small and he's been wanting one. We sat down tonight and told him that we were proud of him and that we had something for him. And then I told him that when he was sad at school that he would have this to remind him how much we love him and know that even though Mommy isn't there watching over him that God would be. He seemed very relieved when I told him that. I'm hoping that this will keep him strong and remind him how much we love him. It's so hard to watch him struggling with this but I have to remind myself too that he is only 6 and he's never really left me before and this is a LONG day for a little guy. These growing pains are SOOO hard!!! Thansk for letting me vent!!!
So, are you ready for your trip?!!

Poor guy. It is a long day for little boys and girls, and with all of the testing and NCLB rules, they have managed to zap a lot of the fun out of school for both students and teachers. I hope he finds his comfort zone soon and begins to enjoy it a little more. I hope his little treasure helps him get through each minute he is away from you, and I hope that he will ever keep that comforting thought in mind - that God is always with him, every second of every day, when things are good and when things are bad.

Thanks MeMom, your words mean a lot to me. We had a worse morning today, I've been crying today now, too. I know I'm doing the right thing by sending him but it doesn't make it any easier. I had to physically put him on the bus this a.m...my 50 lb son, he was really upset. I told him that I loved him and that he needed to do this and we'd be here when he got home. I also wrote a note to his teacher and she called 1st thing, about 1/2 hour after he got there, to tell me he was doing just fine. Phew!:guilty: If I know he's okay there, I can get through this but wow, this is the most difficult thing to deal with and I'm feeling like a bad Mom. And to be honest, the thoughts of getting him all adjusted this week and then leaving him all next week upsets me all over again......:sad2:
Thanks for your nice comments on my boys.....they are pretty cute, aren't they? :cutie: LOL!! I'm a bit biased and I know, I am very blessed. I am so lucky to be their Mommy!!!:lovestruc

One week to go for ya!!!:banana:
And you can't go back in December!
Why? - cuz we're not going!! :lmao: (unless I become a "Disney Mom" that is ... in which case you'll have to go in early-December so we can't meet up in WDW yet again ...:rotfl2:)
Don't worry too much about da kid ... Now that the novelty of the first few days of school has worn off, he probably realizes school = "work" ... so he just does the same thing I do every morning before dragging my butt to the car ... :rotfl:
Our daughter had a "fit" yesterday after school because 2 of her friends came over to play (they only had half days) - but Danielle and her Mom had to do homework first, so the DW sent them away ... :confused3 She calmed down after being "grounded" for a bit, did her homework, and was back to her usual princess: self ...
They just need to get used to the new routine ...

I love those pictures the kids drew!!!!! So, so sweet!
The crowds right now at WDW are AWESOME. We walked onto so many rides, we hardly needed FPs! It was wonderful! I hope the same for you!!
Keep us posted on that week between Christmas and New Years! ::yes:: Airfare is outrageous though, we still haven't bought ours....ick.
Hi Brook!
Thanks, aren't those pics too cute?!! :cutie: They worked really hard on them!!
Oh, so glad to hear the crowds were low! Was it free dining while you were there? I'm a bit worried it will be nutty because of that when we're there!!
Will do,I think we're just dreaming about Christmastime, but never say never, right?!! I didn't think in my wildest dreams I'd be going again and here I am....5 more days!!!:cloud9:

SOOO true! That would be pretty rude of me to go again without you and not see you again!!:rotfl:
Thanks for your thoughts on Ethan, ohhh, the last two days have been SO rough one him (and me!!!), he's really having a difficult time with things. And of course, I'm having TREMENDOUS Mommy guilt going to Disney World on Monday and leaving him during this adjustment period. It's so hard!!!:guilty: But you're so right, they just need to get into the groove of things and get into a routine....hope DD is doing well!!!:goodvibes

I'm so sorry that I haven't update lately, I'm feeling VERY overwhelmed, I can't believe my trip is in 5 more days, I haven't packed, I feel like things here are nutty and my Mommy guilt is in FULL force. :guilty:
Ethan has been having a REALLY hard time with school since Friday, the last three days I've been sending him to school hysterically crying upset and begging me to keep him home. Although I know he's fine once he's there, it's killing me to send him, but I know I'm doing the right thing. It is just painful to send my heart on that bus with him every morning. This is just so unlike him. SO that leads to my serious Mommy guilt, no sooner am I getting him into the groove of things, I'm leaving for Disney World in 5 days!!!:sad2: I feel like the worst Mother on the planet!!:sad1:
I haven't packed a thing, well, that's not entirely true, there is our tshirts I bought for everyone in there, some Crystal light and my VB bag, but that's it! Every afternoon when Cole goes down for his nap, I say I'm going to pack but never do! What's wrong with me!!?:confused3 I should be SO excited!!
Sorry to be such a downer....
Onto some better news...I'm getting lots and lots of emails from Disney reminding me of my trip. Today's was on online check in. Any thoughts on this of those who have done it? I did request 50's buidling, 1st floor, should I just check in when I get there to be sure I get those? Or give it a whirl??
I bought (shh...) some more shoes! :lmao: Fit flops! Has anyone tried these? Supposively they give you a work out while wearing them but there is lots of support and I've been wearing them for a week straight now and just LOVE them!! They will be perfect for the parks!! Here is a pic, I got them in suede chocolate and black. Aren't they cute?!
http://i704.photobucket.com/albums/ww50/princessher4princes/fitflops.jpg
Mom and Jodi are doing well and getting ready. Mom is packed and now trying to weed out some of the outfits she packed, she packed too much she says. Jodi has picked up some water for the room, we'll ice it overnight and bring it to the parks with us. She is also picking up some peanut butter, bagels and oatmeal for breakfast in the room.
Todd & the boys will have a FULL schedule next week and it should keep them out of trouble. I laugh because Todd keeps telling me about all the projects he plans on getting done while I'm gone,I keep reminding him that he will have all the boys with him and good luck! It will be interesting to get his input on how that went when I get back!!! LOL!!:lmao:
Other than that, I have exciting news for you, I signed up with my friend, Leighan from DIS, to run my 2nd 5K! We're running together in Boston on 11/8! I can't wait and we've both started training. I may have go and get fitted for new sneaks when I get home, in hopes to avoid any more shin splints but have been running the last couple of weeks and doing pretty well. THere is a store nearby that will watch you run and fit you and since I really want to get into this, it may be the way to go.
I guess that's all for now. I'll do my best to update these next few days...I can't believe this is THE week!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:cheer2:
Hope you're all well!!!:flower3:

Hey Kristen,
So sorry to hear of your mommy guilt. I know how hard that is to deal with. It just means that you are a great mommy though. I know and I'm sure you do too, that they will be just fine while you are gone. Just look forward to those wonderful smiles and hugs from them when you return. The fit flops look really cute. Are they pretty comfy? I still need to find some comfy flip flops to wear all day walking while at the parks. I can't believe you leave on Monday:banana:That is so exciting. Once you get on the road the excitement will really hit you. I hope it all goes great for you with the last minute touches. Can't wait to hear more.
Oh, and CONGRATS on signing up for another 5k. You go girl:cheer2: You are my inspiration.

I am very ready. Thanks for asking. I have packed and repacked. :rotfl:
Be careful with the fit flops if you haven't worn them before. A friend bought some of them and was told to only wear them for a certain number of hours until she got used to them. They must work very well.
I am so sorry about poor Ethan. That would be heartbreaking. I hope he does OK while you are gone.
My anniversary is Saturday and I have a lot going on. Just in case I don't make it back before you leave...

Wow!! How did this happen? It's almost time!!! You'll be happy to know that I've officially started packing today!:thumbsup2 I have some laundry to do, but in pretty good shape,I think, I hope!! And it's crazy, I'm bringing a full size suitcase just for me, but with all the shoes, two outfits a day and misc. "stuff" that I'm bringing, I need it. Plus, that will leave a bit of room for things I may want to bring home.;) Cause you know, I will want to bring *something* back for everyone...I have the boys sweatshirts I ordered beforehand and will be here waiting for them, but I will want to get them something small just because. And Todd, he's not a Mickey wearing kinda guy, but will bring him something...not sure what, but something small for letting me go and doing this for me.:lovestruc
The next few days are going to be a blur here....tonight is Ethan's open house for school, I'm really hoping that his teacher tells me he is just fine all day long to put my mind at ease with things. Today he walked across the street onto the bus himself, that was huge, he was still REALLY upset and crying, but he did it himself, so that's big to me. Little steps, right? I just pray he'll be fine next week with DH and it won't upset him more.....
Tomorrow Lucas starts preschool again!! He's looking forward to it, it's just orientation day, so we'll go together while Todd stays home with Cole and visit for an hour. He officially starts Monday.
Saturday is full of eye brow waxes, birthday parties, soccer practice, and hopefully a pedicure for me!!! Sunday Mom will come up late morning, we'll have lunch as a family and head to Boston mid afternoon sometime to get an early dinner and go to bed early! We have a 7 a.m flight out of Logan to catch Monday morning!!!:woohoo: I really can't beleive it's almost time!!!!!!!!!!!!
Heard some news about bounceback...anyone done this before? Any idea one what it entails?!! Inquiring minds want to know......:rotfl:
Also, what is everyones thoughts about this online check in??!
Hope you're all well!!!! Will write again soon!!! 4 more days, 4 more days, 4 more days!!!!!!:yay::yay::yay::yay:

Thanks!! We have his open house tonight, so hoping to get some more info there. I did talk to her the other morning, she said he was upset when he gets there but she talks to him and then he is fine. The 1st few days though he wasn't eating lunch, it's just not like him.....:guilty:

I am so sorry to hear Ethan is having a tough time. That is the worst feeling in the world to send your child away upset.:guilty: I hope he snaps out of it....don't they usually:hug:
I noticed you asked about Bounce Back. They had it in the rooms for Value and Moderate. It was something like $60 per person per day for value and $75 per person per day for moderate and it included free dining. It seemed like a great deal but I think I will push for WL fall/winter visit for the next trip. I will explain all about it in my upcoming TR but POP was not the resort for us. I am not sure if it was just our room location or what but the flushing of the toilets kept us up at night. Needless to say, we weren't very well rested for our adventures each day. Peter was not a happy camper:upsidedow
Crowds were very manageable and while waiting to be seated at Le Cellier (our first time and it was AWESOME) someone came out and said they were seated after a 15 min wait with no ADR!
Well, back to work and hopefully I will be able to start a TR this weekend:woohoo:

Our DD's fine going to school in the morning - it's getting to do her homework that's the problem with us!! :headache:
She supposedly "forgot" to bring her homework (and her lunch bag) home with her last night ... :rolleyes1 (smart kid? ... ... so my DW tried to have her work on writing some letters last night anyway ... pirate: )
It's driving my DW crazy!!
Next up: bribery (since the threat of punishment didn't work!!)
Nice Top 10 list ... will #5 degenerate to "stumble around the world"?? :rotfl2:
and #10 - "refreshed" after a trip to WDW? We'll see ...
Have a great weekend (and don't forget to pack!!)

3 MORE DAYS!!!!!!!!:dance3: Holy cow!!
I have SO much to do, doing laundry as we speak to get the last minute outfits figured out. I haven't even checked the weather but I'm packing for Summer, assuming it's still hot there? Beleive it or not, it's been low 60's here this week! I've been freezing at night..it's like now that school has started Fall has officially started too, in New England, anyways!!
I have to look into directions to the hotel in Boston today, figure out online check in (or maybe not...maybe I"ll just do it like I normally do at this point), figure out if I have to pay for my luggage to be carried on the plane or not (Delta anyone?), check in for the flight....and make sure everyone and everything is okay here before I go!!:sad1:
We had Ethan's open house last night and met his teacher, she was very nice and assured me that he was fine after a bit at school. I guess it's just the transition of never really being gone all day. Poor little thing....I can only hope things go well next week for Todd and him.
Today was Lucas' 1st day of preschool so I thought I'd share just a few pics.....enjoy!!

SO exciting!!! :dance3:
Weather looks really good, by the way. Still kind of typical summer weather- high 80's and 90's with chance of showers in the afternoon. :thumbsup2 Can you believe how cold it's been in New England. I wanted to put my heat on this morning!!
Delta- you get your one carry on and personal item for "free." Then I think it is $5 for a checked bag.
Effective for tickets purchased on or after July 16, 2009 for travel on or after August 4, 2009 there will be a $5 surcharge for each of the first two checked bags unless prepaid during online check-in at delta.com.
Bounceback - the trip I am about to go on was booked as bounceback last December. If you don't see an offer in your room, ask at the front desk b/c sometimes the flyers disappear. I say if you're thinking about it and have an idea of dates to go ahead and book it. You can always cancel without penalty but you can't get the discount again. Similarly book the max # of days you'd stay - you can always delete but tough to add on.
Love your top 10 list. You're going to have such a great time!! :goodvibes
Just in case I don't "see" you before Sunday afternoon - have a GREAT time!!!!! :goodvibes:goodvibes:goodvibes

Awe...I hope Ethan gets better. I know how you feel DD cried every day she had preschool, so I was quite worried when she started Kindergarten last year and she was fine. And now that she is in first grade she loves it. Hang in there, hopefully he will get better.
As for online check in for your room, I don't think it hurts if you use it. They may even have your room ready when you arrive. We used it for our trip in April but we arrived at 9pm so I am not sure if it made any difference as our room was ready and there were no other people checking in at the time.
Good luck and have tons of fun!!

I know you will have a fabulous trip and can't wait to hear all about it. Boy you all start school late over there. We've been in full swing for a month now. I too have been suffering from mommy guilt with Faith. She picks the strangest times to start crying and makes me feel guilty. She cries over and over, "I want you, I want you". :sad1: I ended up having to carry her into a staff meeting last week because she would not stop crying or leave my side. Luckily she loves school. It is the other curricular activities we're having trouble with.
Have a fabulous time, take lots of pictures.:goodvibes

I can't believe this is it, my last post before I go!!! WOW...2 more days!! I will be in Disney World!!!:yay: I'm coming to terms with it, leaving the family and all, I will be sure to be a basketcase when I say goodbye tomorrow but I'm determined to make this the best all girl trip and enjoy this once in a lifetime trip with my Mom and sister!!:cloud9:
I have packed, I still need to throw in my shoes and last minute things. I have a full size suitcase ready to go for just me! But there is a lot I'm bringing that we all need, so I'm justifying it that way. The grocery shopping is done, the menu is planned for Todd and the boys for the week, the laundry is done (today!), the bills are paid and the schedule is posted for the week. I'm as ready as I'm going to be, at this point.
This a.m I went out for an eye brow wax, pedi and mani so I'm in good shape there. This afternoon we had a 5 year old birthday party to attend and then tonight we should have had an 80's party but (thankfully!) it was cancelled due to the weather here, it's cold and rainy and they were cooking out. Ethan's 1st soccer practice/game was cancelled today too, it kind of worked out better so we had some more time to have together. Tonight we're planning on watching a Disney movie as a family while we have a picnic dinner and before calling it a day.
Mom will be driving up to me tomorrow and we plan to leave here about 1 p.m. to Boston to have an early dinner and get some rest at the Marriott park and shuttle to Logan. Our flight is 7 a.m out of Boston with an expected arrival at MCO about 10:15 a.m, so think of us when you're going for your 2nd cup of coffee Monday morning.:wizard: I will finally be in Disney!!! Jodi can't pick the car up from the car rental place until 8 a.m in Hilton Head before coming to us, so she won't get to us until at least 1 or so, we'll plan to have lunch at "Everything Pop" while waiting for her and heading to MK!!:cloud9:
I want to thank you all for reading, encouraging me to write a PTR (can you believe I started this in March?!!!), all of your great suggestions and support through difficult times, it means a lot to me and most importantly, thanks for counting down with me and making time to even quicker for me!:cheer2:
I hope you will all stayed tune for my TR when I get home, I hope for lots of pics, so keep an eye out for it!
For those of you going to Disney while I'm away or right when I get home, if I don't talk to you beforehand, have a wonderful time and I look forward to reading about all of your trips, too!!
Take care!!

When I was there a few weeks ago there was a Bounceback flyer in my room. I thought of it for a second but Grumpy would have killed me. I don't think I'll be back till October 2011 sadly.
Will see you when you return!

I definitely understand how you feel going on vaca- and leaving your family. My best friends and I have often talked about going somewhere together but when i think of going on vaca- which doesn't get to happen enough- I just can't picture myself going without my husband. I almost feel bad. So I understand- but once you are there you will be having the time of your life. Plus, it will be nice to be just the girls.
Have fun.. I'm jealous! hehe And I look forward to seeing your TR!!

I started a new one. I guess I should have had the Mod unlock mine so I could post but I did edit my first post to add the link.
Although, I guess that edit doesn't notify all the PTR readers:confused3
